I ordered from Schwan’s regularly years ago. Now that my father is a widower and lives 2000 miles away from me, I thought ordering him a variety of easy to cook meals would be a Christmas gift he’d love. I placed order #[protected] on December 13, 2022. Initially the website told me the order would be delivered to him on 12/15. Great! On the 15th I called Schwan’s to ask what time he should expect the truck. I was informed that his delivery date is not until the 29th of December! (After Christmas!) OK, I can live with that if we have no other options. I let my dad know he’d have to wait 2 more weeks. Well, yesterday was the 29th. I checked my account online to make sure this was still the delivery date. It was. The delivery time window was 9am-7pm. At about 4pm I called Schwan’s customer service, gave the order number and asked her to verify the order was still coming. The representative told me she looked at the route and yes, it’s on schedule, his order is boxed and on the truck. My sister and her husband spent the entire day at my dad’s house waiting to help carry in the box when it arrived. 7pm comes and goes, no truck. I call Schwan’s customer service again and reach a different rep. This one tells me there’s no way to see the route and she doesn’t know how the other rep could do that. But she’s also sorry but the earliest they can deliver his food is now January 12, 2023…2 more weeks! Unacceptable! She could give me absolutely no idea as to what happened. I’m furious and embarrassed. I was very excited for my dad to experience Schwan’s as we used to love it when my kids were young. I cancelled the order and had to apologize to my dad, sister, and brother-in-law for wasting their day.
Desired outcome: I’d like an apology and a credit to reorder the food for my father along with UPS shipping instead of waiting for a Schwan’s truck that never shows up.
