I went in to the Exxon in Charleston, WV at 1639 Washington St. E around 9:10 pm on May 20, 2022 to use the ATM. After I had gotten the cash from the ATM the worker at the front desk hollered at me in which I responded, "Are you talking to me?" He came from around the counter and approached me like I had stolen something and asked for me to empty my pockets. I pulled the money I had just gotten out of the ATM out of my pocket and showed him. He then tried to take the money out of my hand, in which I said, "No" and put it back in my pocket. He made some sound/gesture like he couldn't believe I told him no. I turned and walked out.
The other worker in the Exxon was mopping the floor and had told the other worker that I was at the ATM, however he continued to come from around the counter to approach me and harassed me when I was trying to leave the store.
Desired outcome: The workers behavior was not acceptable. He was a very large man and I am a 5 foot tall woman. I felt harassed and in no way, shape or form is it acceptable to try to take money out of a customer's hand.
Exxon - Manager
I and my wife have been experiencing discrimination from the management of Washington Street, Charleston Wv. East.. The manager has made smart slurs about me asking for prices that weren't displayed. Also we ask someone fora lighter and he came out for us to get off the property. We spend a lot of money in that store and he is the only he gives us a problem. Alot of people are homeless around here but we aren't and that's how he treats everyone. So etching needs to be done about his attitude. I have been in customer service for 30+ years and you don't treat people like that. Thank you and you are losing alot of business.
