Membership fee
I had no idea what charges on my credit card from this company were about, did some investigating & it came back to me. On June 25, 2023 I was on phone with a local electric company to get new service, when I was put on hold a person that was not who I'd been speaking with came on & told me I was picked to receive a Walmart gift card worth $100.00 just for calling that particular day, He then asked for my payment info, which I gave him unfortunately & now I've been charged $5.95 for processing fee (he told me that part) & now, on 7/26 I have a "membership fee" for $49.95. I did not sign up for anything with this company, I've never heard of them & I want a refund for the $49.95.

Original review posted by user Jul 28, 2022
On Monday, July, 25th...I was phoning my healthcare insurance company, wanting to know my benefit for eyeglasses. The phone rings & this guy comes on and "Congratulations. You just won a $100 gift certificate which can be used at any retailer. Just $5.95 for a $100 certificate" I said, "hold on. Is this United Healthcare? I'm calling United Healthcare." This guy says, "Yeah, we're doing this promotion with them. When their lines are busy, it rolls over to us." It sounded plausible. Bottom line? I fell for it. Gave them my credit card & was told the coupon will come to my email within 24 hours & I could use it at America's Best (eyeglass deal). As soon as I hung up, I said to myself, "What the *** did I just do?" Well, 24, 48, hours go by & no coupon plus I get a message from my credit card company asking me if I made this transaction because these guys are NOT reputable. They gave me the phone number and on Tue, July 26th, I phoned them for a Refund & by the way, I Never did get that coupon, nor did I get the documentation/receipt. The woman asks for my "who, what & when," then assures my documentation & refund will be in my email within 24 hours. Thursday, July 28th I call again & say I want a Refund. I'm told, "No Refunds" but I have been deleted from their "club list?" I sure didn't know it was a club & I won't be charged $5.95 a month. I said, that was Unacceptable & I will contact the Florida Attorney General. Today is July 29th, I've yet to contact the AG, but I will shortly. I know, $5.95 isn't a lot of money, but this is now PERSONAL.
User's recommendation: If it sounds too good to be true...it probably is.
Desired outcome: Apology & Refund
Valu-Pass
Called Valu-Pass again and was on hold and then I was hung up on. This happens every time I call. Very poor customer relations.
I have read other complaints about Valu-Pass and others are having the same issues.
As stated before, I am disabled and would not knowingly sign up for anything like Valu-Pass.
Please Valu-Pass respond to this complaint.
Desired outcome: Stop charging my account and a full refund

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

Longevity often suggests that a website has consistently provided valuable content, products, or services over the years and has maintained a stable user base and a sustained online presence. This could be an indication of a very positive reputation.
Several positive reviews for Valu-Pass have been found on various review sites. While this may be a good sign, it is important to approach these reviews with caution and consider the possibility of fake or biased reviews.
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Valu-Pass has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 5% of 19 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Valu-pass.com has relatively low traffic compared to other websites, it could be due to a niche focus, but could also indicate a potential lack of traffic and popularity. The valu-pass.com may offer a niche product or service that is only of interest to a smaller audience.
- Valu-Pass protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
Fraudulent charges
Never subscribed to this service nor have any clue what it is, but somehow they got a hold of my credit card number. SCAM! Had to file dispute with credit card company because of these charges!
scam using old business numbers
Just Called an old number that I had for ADP Payroll and I somehow got connected to this scam. They started by telling me that I was selected to win a $100 gift card and next thing I know its a "rebate card", not gift card and that I'm signed up for something that I need to cancel within 14 days or I'll be charged. The lady was incredibly rude and would not let me off the phone. I wanted to make sure nothing would be charged so I stayed on the phone until she agreed that nothing would be charged. Unreal. I feel like an idiot for even falling for it in the first place. I usually know better than to give my CC # out over the phone, but I called them and fell for it. Argh!
I called a number for housing which I've done years earlier as well. Values pass is a scam and copped this number, so I was connected to them. Like many, they offered me a $100 voucher and tried to dupe me into a trial run with a product. Where if I didn't cancel within 2 weeks I would be liable to pay for it.
I did give them my CC # but I now realized they're trying to scam me.
Told the man I was speaking to that I want to cancel it.
He was nasty, condescending and berating!
And said he couldn't cancel it.
I only fell for this as I'm in a rough spot but the joke is on them as I immediately froze my CC, and I've been issued a new card with a different #. So they won't get squat from me.
I really hope someone legally looks into who these ghouls are - DESPICABLE!
call on a dr
On 7/27/2017 between 3 & 4pm (EST) I called a wrong number for a health insurance company. After going through the prompts, I got a recording I was selected to get a $100 Walmart card for trying a new offer called "Call on A DR" (doctor) . The salesman came on the line and told me it was a free trial (14 day)and all I pay is the shipping for the program, $2.95. I asked if this was Oxford Health Insurance and he said "yes" and that he would get me to the department I needed after I was done. (All recorded, allegedly & that is fraud - they are not Oxford Health) He then got his "manager" on the line (Nathan Vincent) who took my information and credit card information. He advised me he was putting my call into the verification cue. He said I would be asked to agree to a couple offers for $1 each, but just say "yes" so I could get to the end and get my confirmation number. Well, when the verification come on, I said "no" to the product, Call On A DR. The line disconnected. Nathan called me immediately and said I "had to say yes to get my confirmation number" and that he could not guarantee my information would be kept private. I felt threatened at that point. He put me back in the cue, I said "yes" and it went to me agreeing to identity theft $24/mo & some grocery offer $19/mo. I said "no". The line disconnected. Nathan called me right back, now screaming at me that he was trying to "protect me" because I had to say "yes" to all of it or my information would not be locked in to their system and I could not cancel without my confirmation number. My credit card & my personal information was being held hostage to force me to agree to more products! I started yelling at him that this is a scam, adding multiple products on at the end & using threats to get me to agree to products I do not want! I said I did not want ANY products now. He said he already put the original offer through (? I never got through the verification!) and stated, "I'm not going to waste any more time on you. Whatever happens is your problem" and he hung up. I IMMEDIATELY called my credit card company, told them what happened, put a hold on my card so any charges would be denied. On 8/1/2017 a temporary charge was on my credit card for $2.95. It was denied. I closed my card at that point. Trick #1: Fraud - the state they are companies they are not; Trick #2: you are told one product initially but once they have your payment information, they add products on the back-end during the verification that you can only say yes to if you want a confirmation number or you are threatened you cannot cancel; Trick #3: COERCION (criminal!) He threatened that my personal info & credit card information would not be guaranteed safe (locked in) if I did not agree to ALL products - using threats of theft of identity and banking information. I was a hostage. It was TERRIBLE! MY ADVICE: IMMEDIATELY call you bank/credit card and report you card lost/stolen. verify what is correct and if their crap shows up, tell them you did not purchase it. I also filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General office online. (Maitlain FL is in Orange County for those wishing to file) Quick and painless. This is a crime - actually several crimes and the Attorney General is obligated to stop this kind of hostile criminal activity from a company in their state. BBB is good, but Attorney General's office can prosecute them. (And, I know they did not keep my contact information private. On 8/3, I started getting, every hour, a male telemarketer calling the number I used when I made my initial call. Problem for them is, it is my work number and in the 3 years I have had that number, never once have I had a telemarketer call. And, it is the same guy. JUST DONT TALK TO ANYONE AFFILIATED WITH VALU-PASS! IF YOU THINK YOU WERE SCAMMED, CLOSE YOUR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD IMMEDIATELY!
discounts & rebates and other benefits
I had signed up for their discounts & rebate services. On 04/02/17 there was a charge on my Visa card of $4.95 and then on 04/16 a charge of $29.95. If I cancelled within 14 days (which I did) the charges would be returned.I called Valu-Pass to cancel and they refused to refund my money. I never used any of their services at all and would like my money returned.
Rude support
I sent Valu-pass a message because I had some questions regarding their service. I was not yet their customer but I was interested in their website. I waited for over a week and there was no reply, then I sent another message and got the same result. I went to their website and found a phone number. I called Valu-pass and some lady picked up the phone. When I explained what happened she became very rude to me and said that they will reply when they have time. I asked when will that happen and she just disconnected. Valu-pass you should train your employees and teach them how to speak with customers! Horrible service!
Membership/customer service
I called to cancel today, 12/16/15, because I have not received a membership card after 30+ days. My call was received by a recording telling me I could receive a $50.gift and the rest of my membership for $24.95. It didn't say if this was an additional fee or was the fee I already paid. I called back and chose the option to speak to someone.I heard the call go through for someone to assist me, but no one said hello, so I said hello 3 times. Then I waited a few and then yelled hello and then someone answered. I asked my question and told the person I did not receive anything in the mail. She started telling me what I should have received and I interrupted her to repeat that I had received nothing. She took a deep breath and said, "Go ahead." I said, "I am finished. I told you twice I didn't receive anything." She said she was telling me what I should have received. Then she said "I don't even know who you are." as if it were my fault she didn't answer the call correctly. I said never mind and hung up. Then I called back and cancelled through the automated system. This whole Value Pass thing is unprofessional. When I was putting in the name of it at the begining of this message, the name didn't even show up in the list to chose from. I don't think it is on the up and up. It gave me a cancellation # so fast I couldn't write it down and offered no choice to hear it again. I should have never gotten enrolled and I hope my cancellation goes through because I paid for nothing.
Credit card scam, unethical charges, you won't get your money back.
they offer A $100 free gift at Walmart or any other place you shop
then they ask for $4.95 and your credit card number, Exp. date, and the 3 numbers on the back for shipping. Knowing this was a scam I gave them an old CCard number and a fake expiration number it worked and they then sent me to a computerized service that records your acceptance with more fake offers and I accepted them too, then they gave me a confirmation number and a fake 1-800 number to cancel at any time. I love wasting their time I asked a lot of questions over and over and took up to 45 minutes of their time so they could not scam other people so I'm haveing the last laugh. WARNING THEY ARE A SCAM DO NOT DO WHAT I DID OR GIVE THEM ANY INFO JUST HANG UP AND BLOCK THEIR NUMBER FROM YOUR PHONE..I HERE THEY ARE CHARGING $100 DOLLARS or more TO UNWHITING PEOPLE.
Valu Pass,
I have been seeing charges from Valu Pass in my bank statement.
I would not sign up for this as I am disabled and unable to travel.
I am not sure how they charged me. I have called numerous times...I wait on hold and then they just hang up.
I know I am being scammed but I do not know how to get them to stop nor how to get my money back.
It is very sad that they would take advantage of persons with disabilities.
scammm!!!!
I finally answered the phone after the continuously kept calling only for them to keep telling me maam this will only take a second you have been selected to receive a free fift card which I NEVER received and the phone call took an approximate 45 minutes . I was very agitated and told they weren't going to charge my card for anything except $4.95 for shipping which they did but I didn't receive Anything! To make a long story short, been charged over $100 for absolutely nothing!
lies
hi this is laura i have subscribed to valu- pass and it said to join 2 advertisment's and if i do i get $100dollar's for walmart and i did i used my mastercard and now you people give me an email stating i need to pay MORE MONEY how can you people live with yourselves through these lies and scamming people. DON'T YOU PEOPLE HAVE A CONCHENCE APPARENTLY NOT...
Scam
So the ad says I can get $100.00 Walmart gift card if I fill out some surveys, one after another I fill these out, fustrating to say the least. I finally am sent to sign up for a trial for $4.95 to get this Walmart card. Two weeks later they charge me $99.00 and tell me to shop at Walmart and for every receipt I send in for $100.00 or more non food items I will get back $10.00. So I have to do this all year. I told them to cancel this and credit me back my $99.00. They canceled me and told me that there was no way to get my $99.00 back. So I was SCAMMED! I'm very upset and they should not be allowed to continue to take advantage of people.
I thought this would be a good deal. A $100 Walmart card - with a fee of 4.95 to join - with a 7 day window to cancel or get charged $99. I keep a low balance in my account - thank God. When I submitted my order my card was declined. I had an $87 balance a t
the time. After checking everything, I found that they were charging me not only the $4.95 sign-up, but also the $99 annual fee. What a bunch of cheats! I wish there was a warning about this kind of crap - except for BUYER BEWARE. Can't they be blocked from doing business?
Do you really think you were going to get a $100 gift card just for filling out some surveys? Then they want to charge you $4.95 and you still dont know its a scam? Come on!
Refuse to refund
June 22, 2011 @ 10:58 am I received a welcome letter from Valu-Pass.com with a username & pass word and asking me to log on to redeem my gift. I never logged on. I was called by valu-pass representative and asked if I wanted a $100 walmart gift card. I said no several times. July 8, my credit card was charged by VALU-PASSHELP.COM [protected] FL $99.00 I...

TOTAL SCAM!
Buyers be aware, do not ever be lured into Valu-Pass Promotional Offer, it's a total SCAM. Their Promotional offer states $100 Walmart gift voucher JUST FOR SIGNING UP and try their service. It's a SCAM, do not fall for it. Scam tactic 1) Once they get your credit card, they are in control. they will not mention at all about $100 Walmart gift voucher and really hope that you'd forget too Scam tactic 2) If you call them about the $100 Walmart gift voucher, they will tell you to fill out paper work first, and the paper work says that they will not issue you a gift card after 30 days (AFTER TRIAL PERIOD ENDS AND YOU'VE FOUND OUT THAT THEIR PRODUCT IS WORTHLESS BUT IS STILL CHARGED $99 MEMBERSHIP FEE) Scam tactic 3) Even if you stay on and get charged, they will ask you to make required purchases through their link each month for 4 months before you're eligible for the $100 Walmart gift card, by that time, they've ripped enough profit from you as well as your purchases through their link that they MAY consider issuing the gift card. Scam tactic 4) Even though they say you can call their 1800 number to cancel before the 14 trial period expire, the 1800 number is corrupted and THEY WILL ONLY TAKE CANCELLATION ON LINE, that's when they've already charged you the $99 dollar fee.

If you ever come up to this website maybe by stumbleing upong a free computer add from your local university that you have attended for four years and would think would have the sense to not send you ### add through their email service... Well it's a scam... I don't really know if its a scam but from just doing my research on this valu pass and its not real... at leat Traget doesn't recognize it if it is real... It's sad this paragraph will probably never be read so it doesn't matter that I'm breaking just about every rule in the grammatical book of ###ing english... But trust me this is not good! Don't be one of those poor college kids that has to deal with loans and books and identity theft...
I was almost one of those kids... But I used wikipedia (an unreliable source) and determined that this was not real... On the soul basis that if a wikipedia page about doesn't exist... then it doesn't exist. Becuase even thought the facts on wikipedia may not be too sharp or even up to date, they do specify whether or not that something exists... (Read some decarte you'll totally understand)...
But thats it there is no free computer there is no free anything... as my economics teacher once said like some three years ago... there is no such thing as a free lunch... You have to earn your lunch one way or another... whether it be homeless bearing the elements or a student bearing the books or a business man bearing the breifcase... there is no such thing as a free lunch...
peace to you all
