I am complaining about the unfair, false, misleading, and deceptive practices perpetrated against us while visiting Aruba for the fourth time. After being approached by a young girl needing assistance for school, on or about July 11, 2023, we were told that we had won a major prize, one of only 18 on the island, and that she would receive aid and assistance if we followed up the next day. After a nearly two-hour presentation, which included an easy method of getting out of our current timeshare arrangement with another company for free and several reductions in the price, we reluctantly signed a contract and offered over $7,000 for vacation services. They informed us that paperwork would be sent that night, which was not sent. We then learned that this was a scam, based partly upon complaints to this board. We called our credit card company the next day to cancel the transaction (as we were leaving to return home), but the transaction had already been processed even though we had a three-day cooling off period. The company did not respond to any of our attempts to cancel. We cancelled in writing by email that next day on July 13, 2023. We cancelled in writing by letter two days after the transaction on July 14, 2023, sent to the business address. (Both Cancellation Letters Attached) This company knows that certified letters from the United States must be processed by each mail handler, costs nearly $100, and takes weeks to arrive in Aruba. Our written correspondence was received by VIP Services within days (also attached). We have substantially complied to the best of our abilities to the method and process for cancellation in the VIP Services paperwork. We have not heard from the company concerning our cancellation.

Desired outcome: Our desired outcome is that VIP Guest Services simply refund our money.
