I purchased a maxi 4000 back in 1995 and paid a crazy amount of money because I was given a life-time warranty. Here we are in 2012 and vitamix swears they never gave out a life-time warranty even though there are other forum and posts that have the same complaint. It now costs me $85 for a blade assembly - 3 weeks out. I could buy a whole to blender for this price. I really like the machine, but have been ripped off.

I purchased my Maxi-4000 Commercial in 1994, and was told I had a lifetime warranty on the base (motor) unit. Now, in September of 2012, the motor is bad and the Vita Mix reps I have spoken with all say "Oh no! We never gave a lifetime warranty on anything! 7 years is all we offer on the machines!" This is a lie. I was told I had a lifetime warranty on this unit. I would not have paid the ~ 400.00 for this machine at that time had that not been the case. I am interested in possibly generating a class action law suit against Vita Mix. If you have a similar situation, please contact me: chlbrowniii@gmail.com. Thank you! --Chip Brown

Is there a class action for Vita mix not honoring the life time warranty, I was told that my series 5000 carried a lifetime warranty. I would like to be a part. Fran

I've been looking into this. Incidentally, I just emailed Vitamix customer service earlier asking about replaceable parts. Yes, I was under the impression that I have lifetime warranty when I bought my 4000 in the late 80's. I already had the blades and spigot replaced several years ago. One of the handles broke and not only that but I'd like another container...

Yes, I bought mine (Maxi 5000) in the 80's and was told that the motor part is lifetime guaranteed but not the blades or spigot (they are subject to wear and tear). Several years ago I contacted vitamix for the parts, they offered to buy my old machine and a new machine for a discount. No way Jose!

ME to and I paid 679. Now after reading all the 100's of similar complaints , it's time to go to every place to report this , BBB , scam reports Amazon's review . Consumer affairs . There is more . THis is a matter of principle . Yes Vita mixer is 100% fraud and everyone needs to know . Their new plastic container models already have bad reviews . we need to gather hundreds of people who also got robbed by Vitamixer and all make a giant effert to take them to the BBB . untill then we will never get satisfaction. All of us to spent so much back then is what made vitamixer become so big and powerfull they can get away with lies costing 1000,s of buyers back then to be 100% cheated . EXPOSING THEM is all we got and I see its happing here but no where elce , time to expand the truth once and for all everywhare possibe . They have no bresorces to fix these older one Made in the USA so class action suit , a full on law suit for every singl penny bwe spent to fine we were seriouusaly decived . .

I have just gone through the same excuse. I know I would not have spent 500.00 dollars unless they said a Lifetime guarantee. Oddly enough, they have so many competitors now that they are going to find themselves out of business because of bad business practices. Obviously, they are not business-minded enough to look to the future and obviously, these machines are not holding up as well as they thought unless it was a scam from the start. Trading in the machine would put you under the new warranty for 7 years. So i am not open to that. I am still in the process of dealing with them.

Purchased VM0103 in 2003 with lifetime warranty. Got replacement parts a few years ago, but now the container bearing is gone so blade won't turn. Phoned today and they say they have never had a lifetime warranty, only 7 year warranty, which is a lie.

Have had my Vita Mix for 20 years. Purchased it because my sister in law told me she'd had hers for years, was ecstatic about it, and it had a lifetime warranty. A decade or more later, Costco had a limited, 2 week show of the machine, with a Vita Mix representative making her pitch, producing one neat concoction after another, and again, asserting that the machine had a lifetime warranty.

My Vita Mix motor died a couple weeks ago. Called Vita Mix and was told they NEVER had a lifetime warranty, and never asserted they did. I spent the several hundred dollar price in part because they said it had a lifetime warranty. The VM rep said that Costco has a lifetime return warranty, that the presentation was a Costco event, not Vita Mix, and that I'm mistaken.

While Costco does sell the units now, the rep in the Costco store, told us that this was a limited event, that while we could purchase the unit for the 2 week duration (or so) of the event, that it was not going to be carried at that time by Costco as a standard item. Again, that pushed me over the line.

It was also clear that the person representing Vita Mix was a Vita Mix representative. She sliced and diced and spoke with learned confidence about a machine that she was intimately knowledgeable of.

My phone call with Vita Mix was one lie after another, expecting me to just roll over.

The money is not what's at issue. It's a corporation's clear decision to roll back a money bleeding warranty, and suggest that all of us who had the exact same experience, are misinformed. I'm in marketing. Do they have any idea of the loss in reputation they are experiencing, brand erosion, and customer loyalty. I think not.

And, there is competition out there today. I know that while Vita Mix used to be in Jamba Juice stores, now I believe it's the Ninja: See them and others here: http://www.businessinsider.com/vitamix-alternatives-2013-12.

I'd happily join a class action lawsuit against the company, which seems to be doing pretty darn well. I don't believe they should get away with their retelling "The big lie, " again and again and again.

WE need enouge people to gater and make we do not get cheted again if a class action suit vever happens and one may have happened and it was kept secret from the victims .

Farro Wife here
I am in the same boat with you all. Who ever get the law suit started, contact me at farrowife@gmail.com.
I am all in. I did not pay $400 just for a pretty machine. The one who mentioned starting this legal battle has a wrong email address listed.
I guess I have to get it started.
The thing about this is. We all heard that we were being given a life time warranty but do any of you ever remember having or still have a copy of a written agreement that states that we were being given a life time warranty. Please let me see it if any of you have it. That would be strange if every smart person here was taken in by it just being said by word of mouth knowing that we need written proof here. I have to go look through my records to see if I have my paperwork.
But we can get it started using this web site.

Please count me in. I purchased my machine in 2007 in At Costco in Long Beach, CA. I’ve had it repaired once in 2013. Today 4/24/2019 I called for service and I was told I do not have a life time warranty because they never offered one. Long story short, my vita mix is out of warranty. However they would do a courtesy one time repair for me. Stating I must have misunderstood the rep; the product can last a lifetime.

I have had my vitamix for probably 10 years. I bought it at Costco. It has been replaced once, but now the motor gave out again, so I am hoping that my "lifetime" warranty will cover this. If not, I have considered seeing if Costco will help me out.

My husband bought two maxi-4000 blenders in the mid nineties. One for me, his wife, and one for his mother. She passed almost 10 years ago so I have hers too. I have had to use it for parts several times because not only does VITAMIX not honour the lifetime warranty they promised with the machine, but they no longer have parts for my machine and insist that I will have to buy a new one. I don't want a new one with a plastic jug and a 7 year warranty for hundreds of dollars. I want the one I have with the metal container and a lifetime warranty. That is what was purchased - and paid for! Makes me so mad when companies think they can LIE to their customers and get away with it. We are the original owners. How are they getting away with saying there is no lifetime warranty. By the way, I also inherited my mother-in-laws Renaware pots and pans. Also with a lifetime warranty. I called the company to replace a few handles and knobs and they sent them to me free of charge. Said it was included in their LIFETIME WARRANTY. These pots were purchased in the mid seventies. VITAMIX should be ashamed of themselves!

I bought the model in the photo I provided in 1992 with a lifetime warranty all made in the USA all stainless steel base & picher there # 1 commercial blender Vitamix had at the lifetime warranty that was the main reason I bought it , and paid around $589.00 at a sale price, & it was the best dollar I had ever spent as it was obviously going to last me a lifetime . . I registered it as soon as it arrived so I made sure all records of my perches were documented in Vitamixes database, including serial # as required. The rest I have to take 99 % blame , as when it was stolen from me and for sale at a pawn shop , all I needed was the serial number ,for the police to go get it back as proof of ownership was all I needed as it was bought illegally without no ID . I called Vitamix directly and explained , as they were beyond understanding and kind & saw I had my vitamix registered for the lifetime warranty but they could not find the serial # I had to submit to registered it , and all that information was stored with the vitamix when I moved so I just wish all the info would have been available at a phone call and was disappointed there was nothing I could do. Now to find a new vita mix is so expensive with only a 7-10 year warranty and motor parts manufactured in china , am I getting the same deal as I did 33 years ago . I really do not think it is possible to replace the good old school models that were all made in the USA so I find my model used for around $140 , and that is an equal risk as old quality versus new plastic models . All I really want to say is buy one that fits your needs and if you're a heavy user but the top model and do save all info in a very safe place and do not expect Vitamix to have all records if you should ever need them as for the lifetime warranty older models. I do wonder if I still wonder if it had a warranty issue, if Vitamix would have honored their warranty without the serial # as it was not saved in their data-base. after 20-30 years most some of us have had lost the info or because it worked so well, thought it would never be necessary, so if you have an older lifetime model wright down the serial # on it ASAP if you do not have it because if it possibly gets hard to see do to any corrosion Vitamix will not have the info need to honor your warranty , and and con not provide ot Vitamix will not honor your registered product and for in surience resons too to add to list of loss will not depend on Vitamix to have reserved your registration for your lifetime guaranteed perches. It all goes to show how the quality of dependable unbreakable stainless steel compared to undepenible breakable plastic does not compare , and the care of warranties lose their quality as well. The new model with the stainless steel base , and if you add the stainless steel picture for an added $140 found on an online search , would be the best choice if you can afford to spend around $7-8 hundred to ensure a lifetime of dependable use.

I bought my vitamix at costco and paid $500 for it as they said lifetime warranty. Long story short, my jar broke and I called Vitamix and they said it is no longer under warranty as 7 years had passed. They said a replacement jar would cost me $125. It is a ripoff. I can buy a whole new blender for that price.

Please do not get carried away with their sales pitch. It is not worth it.

If someone's starting a class action suit against Vitamix, I'd like t join too

I paid well over 6 hundred dollars for a lifetime warranty Vitamix 14000 commercial and Vitamix did see I registered it but failed to honor their lifetime warranty . I had to replace the switch for over 300 dollars as Vitamix is a scam denying my lifetime warranty. I still want at least a new one . or my money back for false advertising their product .

I bought lifetime guaranteed warranty vitamix 46000 commercial grade and registered , and the first mode will not work , the mode was ont allowed to go on slow speed . Now all Vitamix Company say They can see I bought it and registered it but lie and say we never offer any lifetime warranty , yet Vitamixer keeps sending offers and a long time ago I unsubscribed from the bad news and every day vitamin is harassing me with more junk mail. I paid 679 in 1992 only because made in USA and it was guaranteed for the rest of my life. Vitamixer is an insult to shine me on and we all should take them to the BBB and get our money back for there 100% dihonest , and failer to honer the FTM . I havea new niga 1400 it works ten times better but I use my vitamixer for hot soups ect.. . when the USA was outsourced by china , i. they have no rights to lock out there old warranys . It's pure greed becaue they have no resorce to repair them all USA shops are no longer so then they can send our full payment back . I am far from ignoint of this fact and so is Vitamixer . How do they get away with this is another version of white collar crime . 100% false advertisement .

We bought ours in 2012 and were also told that the product came with a lifetime warranty. Today the container broke.. while trying to blend some cheese rinds! The company rep I just spoke to trotted out the same "Vitamix has never offered lifetime warranties" line, and offered us a 25% discount on a $170 replacement part. So $128!. Total scam.

If a class action suit ever gets going, count us in.
