Poor customer service. Never return phone calls. Frequently miss pickups.

Horrible! No service in weeks. Yet raise the price. Never get a a credit on your bill. They have created a monopoly here in rural areas. They are pretty much the only game in town since they bought out Pete ***.
We have had several complaints about the driver and how after he emptied the cans he puts them in the middle of our driveway. We have complained about this multiple times. The driver told us we could move them ourselves. Also, they skip our house about once a month.We have complained about that and they just come up with poor excuses.
If a zero was available, I would select that. Waste Collections acquired the company formerly managed by Pete. We have been loyal customers of Pete's company for about 17 years. Yesterday marked our fourth week without any trash pick-up service. We made numerous calls to both the previous company and Waste Collections. We were assured that pick-up would occur yesterday. This morning, when I called again, I was informed that they have decided to discontinue servicing us. The reason given was a sudden issue with our creek bypass, which inexplicably took them four weeks to address. We would have been open to discussing alternatives, such as taking our trash to the other side of the creek, but they did not offer any options to us or to the other loyal families who have been their customers.
For the most part I have had a good experience with this business, but lately I have had a few issues. My recycling is supposed to be picked up on Mondays and my trash on Tuesdays. This week they did not pick up the recycling on Monday which I could understand with the bad weather and COVID. When I spoke to a person at the business about this, they had told me if I set my recycling out on Tuesday with my trash that they would have the driver pick up both. I am one to like to have my recycling separate from the trash, but this time I understood with the circumstances. Well they could not come Tuesday but on Wednesday they did come, they did not pick up my recycling. I was outside when they had came and the driver told me he was never told this and he could not take it without permission from the company. I understood where the driver was coming from, but the office messed this up by not informing the driver. Now I have to wait until next week to have my recycling picked up and my bins are full. I used to be with Meridian, and when I had an issue like this they would send someone by themselves to personally clear out my bins. This company was unwilling to do this. I am not satisfied with how this situation has turned out.

I have never had a problem with Waste Connections...ever! Their customer service is awesome and the drivers are thoughtful, courteous, thorough and tireless. Even though we had a snowstorm and they were running behind by just one day, I contacted them through their app to say they missed my trashcan. I got an immediate response and they sent the driver back around in just a few hours. Quite impressive. I love their service!

Waste Connections has not picked up my trash nor the entire neighborhood of *** in High Ridge Missouri 63049. Trash pick (Recycle) was not picked up on Monday 2-8, nor (Regular) trash pick up on Tuesday 2-9. Then no pick up on the following Monday and Tuesday 2-15/2 . 2-15 was Presidents day, therefore 2-15 was moved to 2-16 and 2-17, yet no pick for me nor the entire neighborhood. Moreover, zero communications occurred. No IVR, SMS or Email communications indicating why service was delayed and any mitigation as a result. As of today, 2-18, no trash service running in the neighborhood, nor any communications from Waste Connections.

If a zero was available, I would select that. Waste Collections bought out Pete ***. We have had Pete *** for about 17 years. Yesterday was our 4th week with no trash pick up. We made numerous calls to both Pete *** and Waste Collections. We were assured that pick up would be yesterday. This morning, I called again, and they have decided to not service us anymore because after all this time, they decided they don't like our creek bypass. How it took 4 weeks for them to tell us that is beyond infatuating. We also would have totally been willing to take our trash on the other side of the creek, but they don't discuss options for us or the other loyal families who were their customers.

Lack of reliable service
this company had terrible customer service. Not only do they lie and make excuses for their lack of picking up customers trash but then also claim that there are other items in the trash that are against their policy or the terms of their contract. upon looking into the contracts and guidelines for trash pick up and guess what! I am well within my rights to place the items in my trash receptacle. They are so bad that our town is now taking bids for a new contract with different agencies and promised the town they would absolutely NOT be reupping with them.

We have trash removal on Thursdays of each week. On Thursday, March 4 afternoon after trash removal was done I noticed a wide track mark going off our road into our yard, and asphalt from the road/driveway was torn up from the vehicle that did this. We live on a cul-de-sac that is rarely used and there were no other large vehicles that day. There is no way any other vehicle did this. After NUMEROUS times of contacting Waste Connections (phone and email with photos), they apparently came out and looked. On April 8th I spoke to someone that was a field rep and said the Operations Manager talked to their drivers and said no driver admitted to doing this and it must have been another vehicle like Amazon or delivery. We had no Amazons or delivery and no way the weight of one of those vehicles would have caused asphalt damage to the weight of a trash truck. They said they would repair the road/driveway but haven't.

Waste connections has missed our trash or recycle pick up for the last 4/5 weeks. They do the rest of our neighborhood but forget our alley every week. I have called them and waited on hold for almost an hour and all they say is someone will come by and it takes 1-3 days after our trash is supposed to be picked up to be taken. I have emailed customer service too and was told I would get a month credit but just received my bill today and they did not credit the entire month they missed. It is so frustrating to have to constantly fight to get a service we pay for to take our trash and recycle. Their wait time for talk to a customer service rep is way too long and I often don't have time to sit on the phone waiting for them to pick up while I am on my break at work. They were quick to say they would give a credit but once actually the bill went out, they did not. I have emailed and called about the bill but no one would respond. Please help!

On December 16, on the Waste Connections invoice statement for the period of January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022, I wrote 'cancel service' effective December 31, and mailed it to the designated post office box address. On March 14, 2022, I received a letter from a debt collection agency regarding the amount I owed to Waste Connections. Upon contacting Eleos, they directed me to speak with Waste Connections directly. When I reached out to Waste Connections, they informed me that I should have called them to cancel the service because invoice statements are sent to a post office box. They proceeded to cancel the service but maintained that I still have an outstanding balance. The statements provided do not include any information about the cancellation policy. Without clear guidance from the company, how was I supposed to know that a phone call was required rather than a written notice on the statement? The lack of clarity in their policy is concerning.

I visited their office on March 10, 2022 and they copied my Missouri Drivers License, but refused to confirm that I was to receive this eligible discount. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was refused. Now, Waste Connections is refusing to pick up my recycling and will not return my phone calls.

We have a contract in place dated 12/9 under which Waste Connections is to remove trash twice each week from our 16-unit apartment building at *** Morganford, St. Louis, MO 63116. As of today, Waste Connections has failed to pick up the trash for 2 weeks. In total, they have missed at least 8 pickups, including 1/12, 1/14, 1/19, 1/21, 2/2, 2/4, 2/9 and 2/11. After multiple complaints via email and phone last week, Benjamin Phillips, Territory Manager, confirmed trash would be picked up on 2/11. However, 4 days later the trash still has not been picked up. The dumpster has been overflowing all over the ground with 16 apartments' trash for 2 weeks, creating hazardous, unsanitary and very unsightly conditions which are compromising the health of our tenants forced to live surrounded by trash on the ground and numerous rodents eating from it. It is also impacting us financially as it is preventing us from renting vacant apartments to new tenants.

Missed pickups, which occur on a weekly basis, has become the norm with this company however they continue to charge for full trash and yard waste services! My latest incident has occurred the week of Labor Day. Our scheduled pick up day is on Wednesday, for both trash and yard waste. Because of the holiday, the pick up day was pushed back 1 day, so the scheduled day was Thursday. I called the business to ensure both trash and yard waste would be collected. The representative confirmed both would be collected on Thursday. My yard waste has been sitting in front of my house since Wednesday! I was assured on 3 separate calls my waste would be collected and it still sits! I was told to even leave it and it would be emptied on Saturday and it still sits! This company only provides lies and excuses which is unacceptable!

I had trash service with this company, but was not happy with the service or multiple missed pick-ups. I sent them a check for my January bill along with a cancellation letter. This company cashed my check for January's payment and stopped picking up my trash immediately. I am now getting bills from this company, they are invoicing me for February and March.

Our trash service was missed on Thursday January 13th. I called on Friday January 14th and spoke with someone. They said sorry and they were not sure why our trash was not picked up that she would send a driver out. Monday January 17th the trash was still not picked up and I called their office. I was told they were sorry and unsure of why our trash was still not picked up. They would send a driver out. I called today and they said that the driver came out yesterday. I asked what time. No one could tell me a time. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor called me had no resolution other than charging us for a pickup. She said she would send over the gps showing they were there yesterday 1/17 and unable to pick up our can for it being frozen. She sent me the gps for January 12th. Last week on 1/12 the high was 59 and there is no way our can was frozen. That being said the resolution we want is the trash to be picked up on the promised date and not lied to when we call in. As far as I am concerned this is a breach of contract on their end. Not only should we receive our pickup, but we should receive a bill credit for service we have not been receiving but pay on time.

I'm writing to report that Waste Connections of Missouri, our trash, recyclables and yard waste provider, has missed two weeks of pick-ups during the month of February, which created an unsightly mess and brought wildlife in to scavenge for food in this area. When I called the customer service department to report the problem, I was told they would make up the missed service on the next week's route, but would not issue any refunds. Although I did get a partial credit for one week after I repeatedly complained to a supervisor there. They have also failed to empty our yard waste containers at least 6 times over the past 10 months. My relatives have lived in this house for 52 years and have never had this type of poor quality service until Waste Connections took over this route. I believe it's dishonest and possilbly illegal to charge someone for a service and then not fulfill their promise. That is why I'm determined to get everyone's money refunded in North St. Louis County who also did not have any service those weeks. Please investigate this matter and use your authority to resolve this serious problem. Thank you very much for your time.

My husband and I got hit with covid at the end of the year last year, and we had a really hard time of it. In January, we finally pulled out of it, and were finally lucid enough to start paying our bills. Our trash cans had disappeared, so we knew our Waste Connections bill had fallen behind, but we were just too sick to do anything about it at the moment. When we logged into our Waste Connections account and paid what they said we owed, we assumed our trashcans would be returned and our service would be restored. When trash day came two days later and we had no cans to put our trash in, I called them. it turns out we owe almost $100 more that for some reason wasn't shown on the website. We won't be able to pay that until my next check in two week, which means the amount I paid could have also waited another two weeks, and we could have had that money to help get us through this rough time. I understand that we still owe the money, and we will pay it, but why in the world would the website not give the full total? During these times, one would think businesses would be more helpful to their customers. I will be looking into alternative companies, such as The Other Trashman, who is both local and has better ratings.

Waste collection has only happened a few times in a whole year for this property and the neighboring properties, yet the recycling gets picked every week as scheduled. I and my partner have called every week and even twice a week some months to complain about trash not being picked up. Every time I have called or my partner has called we were told that the trash will be picked up on Friday, yet the trash never gets picked up. I would also call on Friday to confirm that trash would be picked up and trash would still not be collected even though I was told that the driver would be contacted. I have been credited for services on waste collection but I would rather the service actually be provided and not receive a credit because it was months worth of garbage not being collected. The garbage hadn't been collected from the first week of December until the first week of March 2022 at one point. I also believe it has only maybe been collected once or twice since then, I currently have rotting garbage outside that has not been picked up this entire hot summer which attracts all kinds of insects. I was also told that they would take multiple trash bags for inconvenience (up to seven bags) yet I would come home every week to trash ripped up by critters and no sign of waste collection.

We had another company that picked up our trash. Waste Connections bought them out and we have no other option but to use this company. We have a big dumpster and the bottom has rusted. Our trash falls out of the hole in the bottom and animals get in there too. There is trash all over our yard. I have been calling the office in St. Louis, asking for a different dumpster for two months. They say they will get right on it but still no dumpster. I have called multiple times. I talk to different people in our community and they are having the same problem too. There are plastic dumpsters that we could use (two of those compared to the one big dumpster) which we would be happy to have. I called the Jackson office and the lady said there that this has been going on since 2018 and nothing has been done. I called again this week and spoke to a lady and told her I wanted a new dumpster. She promised to call back and she didn't. When I called back to Jackson office (closer to me) the lady there said that my account has been cancelled; I didn't ask for this. There's no one else to pick up trash. The lady in Jackson reinstated us. Trash pick up is scheduled for tomorrow. We pay $52.00 a month for trash pick. We have not paid this month, but we have paid in the past for the last 6 months to a year. I will go ahead and pay for this month today, so hopefully I'll get trash pick up tomorrow.

My agent and I only authorized one-time payments as new customers. The company failed to collect trash, leaving it for two weeks, yet charged me fully, including an unwarranted $5.00 for their gas. They misused my ID to switch to auto-pay, blocked my account access, and mishandled my bank card. They falsely claimed I used auto-pay, despite evidence to the contrary. After canceling auto-pay, I was asked about a refund, then told no money was taken, which was untrue. I've closed the account due to their dishonesty and refusal to provide clear answers. They attempted to charge me $64.00 on March 1, 2022, without authorization, constituting financial misconduct, and owe me $64.00 plus $12.00 for the unauthorized gas charge.

For the last two years my yard waste is sporadically picked up (I would guess it's picked up 33% of the time). This requires a phone call every week for them to come on a separate trip to pick it up (which is done maybe 50% of the time). Year round I rent a 72 gal container from WC which is littered with "YARD WASTE" stickers. Last year (2021) I was told they forgot to pick up on my side of the street? For the next few weeks it was picked up and then winter came. Now in 2022 it's picking up right where we left off. Every week I call and we go through the same dance. Finally I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told there was nothing they could do because they're under staffed. While I can understand my immediate need for pickup will again be delayed, this does not fix the problem. I explained my neighbor's yard waste is always picked up. My neighbors don't rent a container from WC but instead often have piles of loose sticks, yet they are always picked up. Therefore the excuse that they are understaffed doesn't make sense because they're making the trip to the neighborhood they simply are not picking up MY yardwaste. I don't think I'm being intentionally passed by, my desire is to FIX the problem. I tried to express this to the manager but was continually countered with "we are understaffed". If we fix the problem this will help their staffing issues by not having to come back every week for a separate pickup. I think the problem is that trash, recycling and yardwaste are all picked up on the same day and the trash and yardwaste containers look identical except for the stickers on my yardwaste container. I suggested a new yardwaste container with colors to set it apart but was told that was not an option. I have no choice to use a different provider because they're under contract with my neighborhood. The course of action the last two years has not worked. ALL I want is to fix the problem so I can receive the service I'm paying for.

I have never had a problem with Waste Connections...ever! Their customer service is awesome and the drivers are thoughtful, courteous, thorough and tireless. Even though we had a snowstorm and they were running behind by just one day, I contacted them through their app to say they missed my trashcan. I got an immediate response and they sent the driver back around in just a few hours. Quite impressive. I love their service!
Waste Connections has not picked up my trash nor the entire neighborhood of *** in High Ridge Missouri 63049. Trash pick (Recycle) was not picked up on Monday 2-8, nor (Regular) trash pick up on Tuesday 2-9. Then no pick up on the following Monday and Tuesday 2-15/2 . 2-15 was Presidents day, therefore 2-15 was moved to 2-16 and 2-17, yet no pick for me nor the entire neighborhood. Moreover, zero communications occurred. No IVR, SMS or Email communications indicating why service was delayed and any mitigation as a result. As of today, 2-18, no trash service running in the neighborhood, nor any communications from Waste Connections.
Horrible! No service in weeks. Yet raise the price. Never get a a credit on your bill. They have created a monopoly here in rural areas. They are pretty much the only game in town since they bought out Pete ***.
Poor customer service. Never return phone calls. Frequently miss pickups.
