Do you think these people care that you can't pay your electric bill, buy meds, feed your grandchildren, etc.? They are in the business of making money. I'm sorry everyone. I actually purchased a HP ProBook 4720s from swipebids.com. It arrived at my address in 8 days. I paid the $150 for membership. I won my HP for $22. With shipping and currency conversion to AUD, it was $34. This computer retails for between $1200 - $2300 in Australia. But i have also purchased other items that i have not received. All up on swipebids, i have spent $542. Even if i don't receive my other products, i would be quite happy with the ProBook. I still basically got a discount of around $600+. I'm happy. I also was scammed by Swipebids.com. They were double charging me for each transaction I made with them. I sent a copy of my statement to them to prove if, and they still said that I was not double charged. They were only showing one charge. I have looked them up on the BBB and found out that their rating is an "F". I have made a complaint with the BBB and several others. The BBB has sent Swipebids my complaint as of today and working to get this resolved. Below you will find the link to where you can also file a compliant. i also have been scammed by swipe bid it took just minutes. they got me for 318.00, well i did win two 10.00 gift cards. i received both packages but one was empty. i did contact them about ten minutes after i won and asked them what my charge was i thought it would be PENNIES. well they told me 318.00 bam i was raped.
it's a terrible scam... regardless of how we accidently got duped into their system... the bottom line is they have no intentions of giving refunds... i think a class action lawsuit is needed and will investigate further.

Allright everyone you can say it, call me a dumb [censor]. I was on the site from when they first opened, spent allot of money on there, not including the sign up fee that I put on the company credit card. I won one item back when but I really wanted to win one of those ipads so I kept going. One day I just said screw it I was gonna get it no matter what and so I spent 300+ dollars and got a whole bunch of bids. I was going and going but then all of a sudden on of those names like farthat or something like that came in, I new then it was over I had wasted my money. I still kick myself in the [censor] for that one, but then I figured I would finish the rewards challenge and at least get the computer, I only had a few hundred to spend so why not. I logged in one day and my rewards challenge was wiped clean, I had spent all that money and could not get the computer it was a piece of [censor] Jap car. I was pissed off then, I emailed them right away and right away they locked me out I could not log in anymore even though I still had money in bids on the other side. I am getting real mad again. I want some of my money back and don't care how long it takes, I hope the lawyer sticks it to the a double s hole. I tried a new site called letsgobidding.com on the first day they opened and won 3 items but they are not giving them to me cause towards the end of the day the site was shut down due to computer problems. What was happening was the timer would reach 0 and say sold but then even after 5 seconds someone would start the bid again. I got proof of my wins, I had enough time to get my camera and take 3 pics. to prove I won. That site is b.s. to, they won't call me back or email me, nothing, so now I will call them with the numbers ya'll gave me. I'll stop for now but I could go on and on about them, if they would talk to me we could come to an understanding and be done but they don't so f them. Here is one of the pics I took. Recently I was browsing and stumbled on this site. It looks ligitimate, and I filled in all the blanks just to get to the pages to see what they were bidding on, including my credit card number. I thought they would not use it until I actually bought something. What a surprise to me that when I looked in my bank acount, they had charged me $149.00. Thank God I had the money in there to cover it. But I am not sure how I will come up with lunch money for my kids and gas money to get me back and forth to work this week. I am afraid to go back to the site to try to get my money back since I was so easily taken the last time! I would not advise any to visit this site! Good post Stephen, I have said it before and I'll say it again - SWIPEbids is just that...there to steal money - and guilty people hide behind noble causes to try and maintain some form of legitimacy.
Jennifer is going out of her way to shout out "we are not crooks". Which is exactly what they are.
Unfortune. I entered my info - believing that I was only registering an intrest on the site and permitting them (like Amazon. iTunes etc - very reputable companies) to hold my details so that I could bid in the future...nahh...halfway through the registration process -$150 (about £120). Imediately alerted the Bank of Scotland Branch that a fraudulent transaction had taken place. In the UK you have to make it quite clear and unambiguous that you are going to take money from an account and give the user the option to cancel or reverse the process PRIOR to commitment. I used a Visa Debit Card - the have a Visa Logo on their site, so getting the money back should not be too difficult. My bank cannot initiate fraud proceedings UNTIL they take the money (just now its just been "requested" and hasn't left yet).
International Fraud is a much more serious business than merely being a crooked scam artist! I believe you chaps in the good old US of A consider ite offence to be "Wire Fraud" if a transaction is carried out electronically and Internationally (cross borders that is)
So, hopefully my UK Card Issuer will contact their US outlet and make a complaint to the Federal Authorities - should make things much more inconvenient for these guys with the Feds and Interpol breathing down their necks...now then - see what happens when you rip off people in Europe!
As devastating as being scammed is, especially when you have little to no money and that was the main reason you gave this site a try, (because you thought you could actually afford to buy something your kids asked for), it does specifically say before you complete the registration that the non-refundable membership fee is $150 and give me your credit card info. You actually have to read that part before you put in the credit card info. Is it moral or ethical to take advantage of people like that. NO. But they were honest about thier crookedness. I have heard so much hipe about this site lately on the news, I paid it a visit to see for myself. But when I saw that, I backed up immediately. And in reality, this is still an auction. Whether you are at a live auction, bidding with ebay, or trying swipe bids, the seller is going to make sure the bid goes for what he wants or he gets it back. Nobody gets something for nothing. When you see a auction won by such a small amt. don't fall for it. Its the owner getting his product back so he can sell it again and try to get what he wants for it. This unfortunately is one of those "legal scams". Remember what your mama told you when you were little. If its too good to be true... I personally was scammed even with taking percautions because I thought I was ordering paperwork for a grant from the government. I got knocked to my knees on that one. It can happen to anyone. But using these complaint sites to inform others what happened to you is the best fight you can do against scams. They are never going to stop, they are just going to learn to be better at it.

Good luck to anyone that wants to get burned by these con artists. I hit the wrong button while surfing their site trying to figure them out and now $500.00 lighter in my pockets. All the customer support lady would say was "We do not make refunds..." And that was ALL she would say. I actually asked her if she was an automated responder and she was offended... I honestly thought she was because there was no conversation, just automatic response of "we do not make refunds" Who would even work in customer support knowing what they know?
yes they do make is so you have signed up for the site before you even know that you have I realized that what had happen and I with in 5 minutes notified them of the mistake and they told me that there was nothing that the could do and that after 15 days I could request a refund in writing by using the form. I think that they should be made to give refunds asap because the site is not set up correctly and the charge for the site in in a very light print at the bottom so the make sure you don't see it.Something needs to be done this just has to be a crime.
