After using a dentist, based on the 37 favorable reviews shown on ZocDoc.com, it turned out that dentist wasn't anywhere as good as the biased reviews said. ... I wanted to post a negative review about this dentist but was told I can not, because I didn't "book" the appointment from the ZocDoc.com site, first. ... And was told to read their "review policy" regarding it. ... I offered to show proof I used the dentist in question, but wasn't given any consideration to do so, and was told, by the ZocDoc REP, the dentists advertising on their site request this policy. ... When I read a review site, I'm not thinking of writing a review before using the dentist, and have NO need to view any "review policy". ... This site seems to "protect" the dentists from negative reviews, hiding behind this "review policy", without regard for the public users "right-to-know" the truth about the dentists advertising on ZocDoc.com ... I strongly suggest to the public, to IGNORE all reviews on ZocDoc.com as biased, and paid-for by the dentists listed there, as simply advertising for bad dentists who want to keep their secret.
Zoc Doc did not put my review on line even though I personally spoke to ZocDoc about it and they confirmed to me by phone that they had finally confirmed that I had visited the dentist that day and that my issues were correct.
The way my friends and I read it if ZocDoc posted bad reviews, the dentists who pay them a monthly charge would remove themselves from the service. When ZocDoc initially called my dentist the dentist's assistant said I had been a no show. Not what the bill they sent my insurance company stated. There is no way a patient can come away a winner. They also state dentists are in dental insurance programs they are not. They will claim the money from the insurance but they are not a participating dentist even though ZocDoc states they are. Yes it can cost you a lot of extra cash.
If you need a dentist appointment go to your insurance companies list and find one. If you have no insurance make sure the dentist gives you a written quote just like the car body shop.
ZocDoc has an excellent sales team and scams doctors into joining. They book fake appointments to make a doctor think the site is working. Those patients never show up. If you ask to cancel your account, they tell you they need to call you back- then they never call back and play the same game if you call again. They will also encourage you to put their booking coe on your existing website. They will claim they are responsible for the patients booked through your site. stay away from zocdoc
ZocDoc is nothing more than a duplicate service for scheduling patients online. If a doctor like myself already has an established, up-to-date website, with a well run EMR system, then ZocDocs does nothing extra for you. Most good EMRs practice management systems already have online scheduling. They sell you their product that it will get you patients, but unless you are a doctor with a non-elective procedure practice (I.e. Plastic surgery, laser treatments, non covered services, cash pay only) you don't need ZocDocs. When I used them for 6 weeks, all I got was patients with no insurance and no money. All they have is they somehow pay google big dollars to be on page one of google ads to get patients to click on them, then they can search for a doctor in their system. It doesn't mean that they pick you because their may be other doctors near your area they could choose. Learn from my mistakes and save your money and put it toward your own website and SEO to better your web presence instead of using ZocDocs.
Zocdoc is a scam; they are running a predatory one-sided business model that is designed to take high fees from practitioners regardless of the benefits. To scam money out of people, they keep changing the goal post and will charge people 100ss of dollars even if the appointments are cancel whiting 24 hours state in their cancelation policies.
I tried to leave a review about zocdoc on yelp and surprisingly they have managed to oppress that because there are 1000ss of people complaining about their predatory business model.
They harass people too..its unreliable!
Booked dr Nishal Patel in Walnut Creek, CA through zocdoc.com. She spent less than 10 min with me without suggesting a treatment but removed some dead skin in 3 min. When I received the bill, she had charged medicare over $600 for that visit including $350 for surgical procedure! This is a fraud and have reported her. Zocdoc would not publish my negative review. They obviously have a conflict of interest and have a flawed business model.
Schedule an appointment with Dr. Seena Hisamuddin of Marietta Ga was schedule for Nov 14, 2014 @ 2:50 p.m. The office left a messages for me to call. because they needed to reschedule my appointment. I returned the call only to have someone at the office to answer with HELLO not the name of the business or anything she then explain that they needed to change my appointment. She then asked for my SS number I gave the last four she held the phone for 4 seconds. I said hello, hello she said I need all of the numbers I decline to give it to her because A this unprofessional women don't even know how to answer a phone, Were did they get her out of a Barn? And who knows what or who she is. So I explain that my identity was taken so I did not want to give that information over the phone. So she than put me on hold for 25 min. I hug up. And I just cancel my appointment with this doctor. Who need to deal with ignorant office staff. I did called zoc customer dept. to complain. They were very apologetic offered to give me a $5.00 gift card.
I agree. This stupid website sent me a reminder a week early and I thought my appoinment was today and I rushed over and got a ticket :(
I am a dentist and tried ZocDoc. They are crooks to not only the public but to the dentists as well. They misrepresent both sides of the coin. Unfortunately, I did my home work AFTER signing up and wish I never did use ZocDoc. It has been the biggest waste of money and hardest company I have ever dealt with after 20 years of running a successful business.
I recommend CONSUMERS AND DOCTORS avoid this site. For doctors considering it, please do a little home work and you will find the truth about this company and save yourself a lot of grief and money. Don't believe what they tell you. Ask the question if they have EVER refunded a dissatisfied client under ANY circumstances. Ask for proof then verify! (I'll save you some work - the answer is NO). As a patient, ask how the reviews are truly handled? Do bad reviews exist?
This company is all about making money for themselves and NOTHING more. Unfortunately the doctors and patients are misled.
Dr. G.
I have used a dentist they have listed as one of the best RECOMENDED in my city, I had the worst experience with this dental office
MONA LISA SMILE DENTAL, stay away from reviews you see on ZOCDOC
ZocDoc "reached out" to our dental practice about 2 weeks ago. A very pleasant lady claimed they could provide our name to Veterans and Union Workers to become our patients. She promised me she would show me their referral system would work. Of course I had some interest but I was also skeptical as we've seen these types of dodges about every three or four years. We were given a cell phone number to call and a a land line as well, but with the cell phone number look up, I found the location in a residential section of New York City. Then I started to realize a cell phone from New York and a nice, friendly and helpful voice on the phone might be so truthful it was hard to believe! Needless to say, I did not waste our dime to find out what we already knew -- that is to pay for their play! As for the quality of the office performing their work, MOST dentists I know work hard, do good work and treat people well. However, blaming ZoDoc is ridiculous. Third party services are used in many areas and one gets what one gets, be it wonderful, average or disappointing. Every dental office has a phone and a scheduling method. Use the dentist's phone and personnel and not a third party service. Usually, the office staff take care of patients quite well. Reviews written on third party sites should all start, "Caveat Emptor!"
Zocdoc is the worst website ever! & what's worst is that u can't delete your account manually. I've had plenty Doctor cancel appointments in me saying they are all booked but zocdoc says other wise. half the time it isn't the doctor listed on zocdoc that sees you or even works in the office. Won't be using that site ever again.
The complaints made by health care providers are certainly true. Zocdoc has biased and even false reviews they post knowingly. Positive reviews are reluctantly posted.
I strongly agree with the existing comments. I found several doctors from Zocdoc with 5 star ratings and they all turned out to be terrible and disqualified doctors who were at the same time, unethical billing practices. One of the doctor I saw a few months ago, I received a feedback link but when I click, I can't actually write a review. I checked the website multiple times, exactly the same thing. It won't allow me to even write the reviews, however, I can see all the recent reviews with 5 star rating. I checked the same doctor on the yelp, and she has barely 2 stars rating and it's getting worse. This entire thing made me think that Zocdoc reviews are false and they are not verified reviews. If I can't review the doctor, nobody else should be able to and all the reviews get posted are false and fraud. This website is a scam! Please do not use this site to search the doctors. Use other reliable resources to find a truly good doctors. The same doctor that wouldn't allow me to write reviews unethically billed me and insurance company separately a few different charges even though I saw this doctor only for 5 minutes after waiting over an hour with very nasty receptionist who throated to leave every time I asked how the the wait will be. The doctor's name is Monica Simons at Woman's Wellness on Broadway. The doctor is a scam and the office is unethical with billings ( I filed complaints with insurance company already since the insurance received several bills for the services that were not performed at the time of visit). If you are lucky to read this, please avoid Zocdoc and this doctor named Monica Simons in New York, NY.
I am a psychotherapist and started using Zocdoc 5 months ago. I pay $300/year and a referral fee of $50 each. I decided to give them a try and use them for times in my schedule that are hard to fill. After 5 months I have gotten 29 referrals, 11 of whom have no showed, while the average I usually get is 1 out of 15. The average number of sessions attended per referral is 1.5, so I am netting $65 each. They have made almost as much money off of these referrals as I have. I suspected, and after doing some data sifting, discovered that the average age of these referrals was 29.9, with a range from 20 to 43, and the average age for no shows was 27.5. Many of these people are apparently making appointments impulsively with only a vague sense of personal responsiblity, so many just don't show up without even cancelling. Often they discover that they have huge deductibles and don't bother to let me know they have changed their minds and no shows are very expensive. I not only pay Zocdoc, which follows a rigid policy with no room for such circumstances, but I also lose money from the patients I had to turn away who wanted that time, because it was already reserved for someone else. One dropped out after two sessions only to leave a vicious review about me because, while I provided what she asked for, as agreed upon in the treatment plan, it was apparently not what she really wanted. She also complained that she was insulted when I urged her to have some much needed fun! Not only is the internet forever, but I extend myself, and 46 years of education and experience, to help people improve their quality of life, only to be slugged in the solar plexus. Ouch!
I had ZocDoc through Grow but asked to cane. I noticed the patients from here are inconsistent and often no show too. I also don't agree with ratings-therapy is subjective, plus you get people who give you 1 star because they are charged a NO SHOW fee which is clearly stated in multiple areas. This is just another company devaluing therapists for profit, degrading the fields and reducing us to glorified customer service representatives with unreasonable expectations. Keep complaining there aren't any mental health providers-seriously why would anyone go in this field with subpar pay, predatory marketing and entitled abusive patients which one has no recourse against.
I just found an article with this title that explains a lot. "Zocdoc Is Trying to Attract More Millennials."
hundreds of fake reviews. Ive seen some of these doctors with over 4 star reviews, and they are not good at all. Nowadays, I don;t even consider zocdoc reviews
Your tv commercials really really suck. We change the channel. You folks surely should give your agency a bonus cause they sure suckered you. Thats right after you fire the nit wit that hired thim
I read your reviews on a certain doctor that i use and work with as a surgical assistant. There are MANY FALSE reviews on him so i looked at a few others. You NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. You are providing FALSE REVIEWS, and you should be investigated ….i contacted my state senate office , as well as at the federal level. DONT YOU REALIZE PEOPLE MAKE LIFE OF DEATH DECISIONS and yoir website is INACCURATE
Take the zocdoc commercials off the air. The are just awful. They are so terrible I would never use their service. How could their products be any good when their ads are so bad.
removes all reviews that discuss a physicians actual performance and whether offices are accurately/fairly billing their patients.
I've left a review about a physician billing me for my annual exam, but did not actually do anything. Zocdoc removed the review from the physicians profile.
There's not much more to say.
Zocdoc will charge doctors for their mistakes and will not make a timely resolution to this issue .bad customer service , this can cost your practice thousands Be careful
