23andMe Review: Exciting Results, Vague Information, and the Search for DNA Relatives
I gotta say, I was pretty excited to finally get my results from 23andMe. The wait was a bit long, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Overall, I think it was worth it. I mean, how often do you get to learn about your own DNA?
That being said, I did find some of the information to be a bit vague. Maybe it's just my particular DNA, or maybe it's something else entirely. Either way, I was hoping for a bit more detail. But hey, I'm not a scientist or anything, so maybe I'm just being picky.
One thing I was really hoping for was to connect with some DNA relatives. You know, find out if I have any long-lost cousins or something. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck in that department yet. But I'm not giving up hope! I know these things take time.
Overall, I'm really glad that 23andMe exists. It's pretty amazing that we can learn so much about ourselves just by spitting in a tube and sending it off to a lab. And who knows, maybe one day I'll find out that I'm related to some famous person or something. A girl can dream, right?
Discovering My Ancestry and Meeting Long Lost Relatives with 23andMe
Been a member of 23andMe for like 3 years now and let me tell you, it's been a wild ride. I was so pumped when I found out I had over 900 DNA relatives! I even got my cousins and sons to sign up just to make sure the accuracy was on point. The results ain't always what you expect, but they're always interesting. I even met some of my DNA relatives through 23andMe and then went to visit them in Finland, where my ancestors are from. It was a trip of a lifetime, let me tell you. I highly recommend 23andMe to anyone who's curious about their ancestry and wants to connect with long lost relatives. It's worth every penny!
Disappointing Results from 23andMe: Why I'm Switching to CRI Genetics
So, I tried out 23andMe and I gotta say, I wasn't too impressed. I mean, sure, they gave me some ancestry results, but they were all over the place and didn't really make sense. I'm mixed race, with European, African, and Native American heritage, and I was hoping to get some more specific information about my genetic background. But instead, I just got a bunch of random answers that didn't really tell me anything.
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. I've heard good things about CRI Genetics, so I think I'm gonna give them a try instead. From what I've heard, they're a lot more accurate and reliable than 23andMe. Plus, they actually give you meaningful results that you can use to learn more about your ancestry and genetic makeup.
Overall, I wouldn't really recommend 23andMe. If you're looking for accurate and informative genetic testing, there are definitely better options out there. Save your money and go with a company that actually knows what they're doing.
Disappointing Experience with 23andMe: Terrible Customer Service and Faulty Family Tree
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with 23andMe. The Family Tree thing they got going on is all messed up. I tried calling them a few times to get some help, but they kept hanging up on me or making me wait on hold for hours. And when I finally got through to someone, they weren't even a supervisor like I asked for.
I even tried to get a refund, but they just hung up on me again. It's like they don't even care about their customers. The only reason I bought this thing was for the Family Tree, and it didn't even work right. It was down for weeks and when it finally came back, it was all messed up.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The customer service is terrible and the product doesn't even work right. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Review: 23andMe's Genetic Testing Services - Affordable and Informative
23andMe is a pretty cool company that offers some pretty sweet services at prices that won't break the bank. They even do testing that you can sometimes qualify for, which is pretty rad. Right now, I'm waiting on some genetic testing results for a study I qualified for about Bi-polar. They're gonna send me the deets on what diseases I'm more likely to develop and my genetic make-up, which is super helpful since I'm adopted and don't have any family history to go off of.
Inaccurate DNA Results: A Review of [Website Name]
This website is pretty cool, but I gotta say, the DNA results ain't all that accurate. My mom sent in samples for me, my brother, and herself, but the results were kinda messed up. According to the site, my brother doesn't share much DNA with my mom, but I do? That don't make no sense. My mom's supposed to be my mom, right? Plus, my brother didn't have any French or German in his results, even though my mom had a lot of that in hers. How can that be? It's not like my brother was switched at birth or anything - he looks just like my dad. They gotta fix this stuff up, man.
Disappointing Experience with 23andMe Registration and Payment Process at WalMart
I went to WalMart and got myself a 23andMe kit. I followed the instructions and went to their website to register the kit. I also bought the service they required and got an email saying that they took the money out of my bank account. But then they told me that I didn't do it in the right order, so I didn't actually pay for the service. They said I could ask for my money back, but I'd have to wait two weeks and then buy the service again. It's really frustrating.
Disappointing Experience with 23andMe: Delayed Results and Poor Customer Service
23andme.com is a website that has been advertising a lot lately. They seem to be very popular, but I'm not sure if they can live up to the hype. I sent in my DNA kit in mid-January, and I still haven't received any results. All I got was an email saying that they were behind with the results. I paid $199 for this service, and I expect better customer service. I wish I had spent my money somewhere else! There are a lot of other options out there. Ancestry DNA was much better at getting my results back. I sent them my DNA kit one week after I sent it to 23andMe, and I've already had my results for 2 weeks now.
Disappointing and Inaccurate: My Experience with 23andMe DNA Test
I recently tried out the DNA test from 23andMe and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the results. I was expecting to get a clear picture of my genetic ancestry, but instead I got a bunch of confusing and inaccurate information.
For starters, the test showed that I had more than 1% Native American ancestry on my mother's side. This was a total shock to me, since my mother immigrated from Asia just 25 years ago and no one in her family has ever lived in America. If I really did have that much Native American ancestry, my mother would be able to claim it as part of her heritage. It just doesn't make any sense.
On top of that, the test also showed that I had a substantial amount of French and German ancestry on my father's side, even though my father and my sister had none. How could this be possible? It just doesn't add up.
When I reached out to 23andMe to ask for a retake or a refund, they flat-out refused. They knew that their results were inaccurate, but they didn't want to admit that there was a problem with their testing method. It's clear to me that this company is more interested in selling test kits than in providing accurate results.
All in all, I would definitely recommend staying away from 23andMe. Don't waste your money on their DNA test kit – there are plenty of other companies out there that are more reliable and trustworthy.
Review of 23andMe DNA Testing: Good General Info, Lacking Personal Details & Hard Copies, Navigation Needs Improvement
23andMe is a DNA testing company that provides a fair amount of generalized information, but not much personally detailed information. As someone who took a DNA test, I expected more, but maybe I am just too naive about what can be accomplished with spit. However, if more people were to participate, then I'm certain there would be a greater number of details given out, and more connections made. Unfortunately, the precedent for websites is even if you gain a big audience, you can lose it in short time; and if you start with an audience that is not very large, you will soon disappear off the web. Shared sourcing would be good in this case. It would be great if all genealogy and DNA sites could, if not join into a single entity, at least coordinate with one another, and allow their customers to use each other's sites.
The most disappointing thing about 23andMe is that all the information regarding my DNA was made available on the ever-changing, sometimes disappearing, internet, and spread across many pages, sometimes a bit confusing; and not one single hard-copy of anything was mailed to me. For the hundred dollars or more that most people spend, they should be able to afford something on paper. It would be great if even the general information and a few charts were sent, that would be a plus.
The second most disappointing thing is navigation. The website does not have clear-cut menu break-downs. I have had to go through several pages, reverse direction, and go through pages again, to find what I was looking for. And some things I discovered entirely by accident; and had difficulty finding them again.
However, in 2021 October, after eons of inactivity, I have received a new connection. 23andMe has added several types of comparative information for myself and my connection. I like this more. I'm increasing the rating by one point. I told you they could do better, and they are!

passwords
I have been unable to get into my account since 23andme requested that I change my password. I tried again this morning after several days and got the message that I am locked out after too many password attempts. I have contacted the company and all I got was a link to change my password. So, I did once again, to no avail. The last time I contacted the company, I did not get a response.

So, I tried out 23andMe and I gotta say, it's been a bit of a bumpy ride. I was really excited to get my results, but unfortunately, they haven't been able to give them to me yet. I've been trying to get in touch with their customer service, but it's been a real struggle. They keep sending me the same message over and over again, and it's starting to feel like I'm talking to a robot or something.
Honestly, it's been pretty frustrating. I feel like I've been waiting forever to get my results, and I'm starting to wonder if it's even worth it. I mean, I know they're supposed to be really accurate and everything, but if I can't even get my hands on them, what's the point?
I will say, though, that the website itself is pretty cool. It's really easy to navigate, and there's a ton of information on there about genetics and stuff. I've learned a lot just from browsing around on the site.
Overall, I'm still holding out hope that I'll eventually get my results. But right now, I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the whole thing. If you're thinking about trying out 23andMe, just be prepared for some potential hiccups along the way.
Disappointing Results and Refusal of Refund: My Experience with 23andMe
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with 23andMe. I mean, their results were just plain wrong most of the time. It's like they didn't even try to get it right. And when I asked for a refund, they just flat out refused. Can you believe that? I'm not gonna take this lying down though. I'm gonna get my local district attorney involved and make sure they pay for what they've done. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. It's just not worth the hassle.

customer service
Everytime i have called i received a bs run around, and when i asked to speak to a manager there was supposedly no manager. some guy named rome said they didnt have a manager. my kit was bounced around, i was told that i would receive a email within 2 days, did i receive it (nope) and nobody had actual answers. Several people that i know have sent their kits in either a week or two after my kit was already received, and their results were back literally 2 weeks later. then i was told that i didnt have a kit . this is a complete ripoff and poor customer service !
Desired outcome: I want my results as well as everyone at the call center to be retrained.

I subscribe to your email and appreciate what you offer consumers; however, I was taken in by the title of your tonight's email: "Pre-Black Friday: 23andMe". When I arrived at the website, it was an offer for their new DNA test at the full price of $199.00. No coupon, no promo code, nada. I was really excited to see that a deal from 23andMe was being offered on your site, as I really want to buy their new test, but not at full price. Please, don't get people to check out your site by luring them in with a false offer. I wasted a lot of time going through your offers, hoping that 23andMe might be listed with the other stores on your list.
Avoid them
I was disappointed with the website www.23andme.com, because I, my brother and mum submitted them our DNA. And the results were shocking and fault, because we checked these results in other place. Also it was very inconvenient to contact them, because they didn’t provide phone number or emails. It was possible to reach them only through Facebook, but they responded very slowly here. I won’t advise to use the services of this company and better avoid them.
Having posted my DNA sample, after months the company admitted it had lost it. I asked for a refund. They said it would be in my account within 7-10 days. " weeks later it hasn't appeared.
Charged my credit card twice and are refusing to refund my money, stating they "can't find my account". Now I am out $300 CAD because they refuse to refund my money. Crooks!
