kids club
This isn't the first time it's happened so I decided to write. On Sundays (however it's happened on other days of the week) the kids club closes at 12:00 pm (I feel it should be 2:00 like sat but that's not my reason of complaint) many people agree 2:00 would be great too. Yesterday, 7/23 I went in at 10:45 and there was a sign on the door saying ithe kids club is full and they cannot accept anymore kids. As I was reading it a lady walked out with two children so I thought to myself, they would have room for my daughter. When I walked in they said they wouldn't be able to take her because one of their girls will be off in 30min. I feel the staff should be there as long as the kids club stays open. It was only 30 more min and I was looking forward to an hour workout & my daughter looked forward to being there. So it's just disappointing that I pay for the service and can't use it. Hopefully something can change reguarding that. Thank you for your time.
billing
I was billed twice in March, April, 3 times in May, twice in June. I called in to notify customer service and was told to dispute extra charges with my bank. My bank removed the duplicate charges and then I was told I was past due from march to now by billing and I would need to take proof of payment to gym manager. Very bad way to handle business with a customer since 2009. Needless to say I cancelled.
I am complaining to the lack of hygiene
I have already submitted a serious complain about the very bad hygiene in the super club on Brand Boulevard in Glendale ( to no avail...)
I took pictures of the ladies changing room by the pool and sauna and showed it to the manager ; I also spoke to another member of staff who told me " what do you want me to do ..."
I responded - I want you to tell your cleaning team to clean the showers walls covered in dry soap, collect the dirty towels all over the floor, unblock the drains covered by hair which unable the water to run properly and causing us to walk on dirty water inside the showers.
The sauna has been close for over two months.
No notice inside the gym explaining what is going on or when the members will be able to regain access.
the ladies changing room by the pool has no sinks for a few weeks and is covered by black plastic sheets. Again no explanation.
Members still pay the same monthly fee without the same benefits . The organization has a duty to inform his members .
Hygiene is a priority in an organization like a fitness club.
terrible customer service
Hello,
My name is Saad. I went with 3 of my friends to one of your gyms (700 S Pine Island Rd, Plantation, FL 33324) for three days trial. I had an issue that can't be forgotten, and I filed a complain about it . briefly, my issue was that as you know there is no hook inside the shower room, so I hanged my stuff on the door. While I was taking shower, someone step by and took all my stuff. I couldn't do any thing to him, and I ended up leaving the shower room with no clothes to call my friends to bring clothes and towels for me!
It is a critical situation and totally un accepted . I gave my complain to the front desk guy (Willy), and he said the manager will be able to check the camera for you and contact you soon to solve your issue. I waited 48 hours, and no one contacted me!
Then, I called the front desk asking for the manager. They transferred me to him (Alex). I informed him about my issue, and he said we can't do any thing for you. He also said if you want reimbursement for what you lost, I would go to Walmart and buy you underwear, towel, and short!
He was un polite and showed no respect to me as a customer. What he has done is totally un accepted. Therefore, I decided with my friends to never go to 24 hour fitness, and we will use the social media in the near future to show people how 24 hour fitness staff take care of their customers!
Thanks

management/firethorne location
First let me state I am a personal trainer employed by 24hour Fitness.
Today 7/10/17 I entered the building at 4:50pm and took my two daughters into childcare. I then proceeded upstairs to check my schedule and prepare to train my client at 5pm, during this process the operations manager Kayce (acting GM at the moment/Katy, Tx Firethorne) came up stairs and approached me. She informed me in a not so polite manner in front of many people that I could not have my children in childcare while training on the clock. I let her know that I paid for childcare services and that I was never informed that I could only use this service when working out, I let her know that I was staying to workout after my training session. I let her know if it was such an issue I could tell my client we would need to reschedule, she said she would allow it this one time but that it was not allowed. I apologized and let her know that I was not informed of this policy and that I have checked my kids in many times prior with now issue. I then said that if it was such an issue I would just workout with my client today, then walked away to put my things up in the trainer area. Kayce then followed me back to the trainer area, where another trainer was standing with me, and her exact words, "You don't have to be a smartass, I'm not going to F'n pay you on the clock if you are working out." Then she walked away. I do not believe Kayce approached this situation correctly and could have pulled me aside and had a one on one conversation, along with showing me in the employee handbook where children of employees are not allowed to be checked in. Also the foul language towards me was unnecessary, not to mention my client my be filing a complaint as well.
culprit breaking into my locker, and vehicle on your property
Let me start off by saying that a smalls claims will be presented against the 24 hour located at 8785 Center PWKY 95823 Sacramento, Ca IF my concerns are not addressed.. This is the second violation that has happened to me since last week. The first incident was the theft of my $100 tire off of my bike parked in front of the said location. The second violation happened this morning on July 4th, 2017. I placed my belongings in a locker which I had locked with a lock purchased from a retail store. I open my locker to find it empty, and then I proceed to check every unlocked locker, and I find my black backpack stored in a bottom locker that I did not use. I look through my backpack, and realize that my car keys are not in my backpack. So I rush out to the parking lot, and find my car unlock, and my wallet has been stolen. My car keys are nowhere to be found. My girlfriend had to call from an uBer, and she had to contact AAA. AAA had to dispatch a mobile locksmith to come out, and make a key for our vehicle..Costing my girlfriend $160 out of pocket. Let me not forgot to mention that 100 was stolen from my wallet along with a Credit One credit card, and my SS card. Now I must worry about Identity theft all because your people allowed either a team member, a paid member, or a crooked opportunist to enter your facility, and violate me not once but twice in less than a week! That is not just doing business carelessly, but it is like you guys do not care about the consumer who pays to use your place of business. This not an isolated incident. Check your records, I'm sure there have been thousands of complaints, and it is high time you people start showing some concern, or business will be taken elsewhere. You people need to reimburse me for the locksmith, my girls uBer ride, pain, and suffering. How the hell can I feel safe at an establishment that has allowed me to be violated twice in a week. I not only want to be reimbursed, but I am requesting that I get 2 years of membership dues paid for me, and my entire family. That is the least that you can do
injured by your equipment l poor service at 2 locations
Hi,
Last Fathers day I was working out at 24hr Magic Johnson in Lemon Grove CA. I have been going to this gym for last 5 months 4-5 days a week. As I am working out on fathers day from 4pm-5pm I noticed an injury on my arm. I had a smaller similar injury which was an external cut weeks before and figured I brushed my arm against a machine. Since the same cut appeared on my arm on the same day; Sunday, doing the same routine, I figured it had to be one of your machines. I found that the cross cable machine was taring off from the cable. The cables protective plastic casing is torn and the wire strands that make the cable is coming apart and the sharp wire is what is cut into my arm; causing the cut which is attached in the picture. I promptly told 2 trainers who where working out together(did not get their names. they are the only 2 white males who work at that location during the day. one is bald with a beard, the other one is clean shaved with hair.) In all honesty it seemed like they completely dismissed what I told them about their defective machine so after my workout as I was leaving I approached the clean cut white guy with hair and showed him the fresh cut and told him specifically which machine and the problem. I went to the gym yesterday 6/19/17 and checked the machine and nothing has been done. What if someone already cut themselves and God forbid they have a disease that is transferable by blood. Very poor service.
It is the cable cross machine. There are 3 of the same machines parallel to each other, facing the dance studio. The defect is in the right hand of the cabling as if you are doing a chest workout.
I have been with you guys for over 10 Years.
I have worked out at the following locations
Grossmont
La Mesa
Escondido - Your main location last year while I was a Sales Analyst
Huntington Beach - While I was at University
Anaheim
Magic Johnson - 7 years ago and now for the last 5 months
Balboa
Mission George
In all honesty your Lemon Grove and Mission George locations have the worst service of all locations.
The Red Head white female who is the receptionist at Lemon Grove Magic Johnson is rude. She purposely says goodbye to members but when I am leaving she magically is busy talking to the security guard. It happens at least 3-4 times a week, and you will be lucky to get a goodbye. I have never in my life over 10 years going to 24hr have I had a problem with 24hr or customer service issues, however this last year and 2 locations have been embarrassing to your brand. The same red head girl did these 2 things in the last month.
1 - she was super nice last week, I believe Tuesday when you had someone from corporate there at Lemon Grove, she was nice and extra bubbly and she even gave me a couple free passes to give to friends. As I thought to myself she is just doing this because her boss is around, the very next day we where right back down to [censor] service. You might get a hi when you enter however EVERYTIME you leave you get skipped on the goodbye, oh but the person before and after gets a goodbye; now how would that make you feel?
2 - she was training a new hire; an African American girl with glasses a few weeks ago. As I enter I smile and say hi, they both respond back and as I am smiling at the black girl the red head white girl turns her back to me and starts talking bad about me; only 2-3 feet away? Are your employees so COCKy and arrogant and rude that they turn there backs and take down about people. Go through your video and talk to the GM their on what day that was. The video will clearly show the change in body language and facial expression once she turns her back.
The reason I am referring to these people by there race and hair color is because I dont know any of them, hence my utter surprise by the lack of service.
I have Material Witnesses to defective machine. I may picture evidence as well.
I have witnesses and may have footage of this girl saying hi and bi to everyone except me. It looks real bad and is really rude when she is extra nice to the person before and after me and I get no service.
(please dont bs me with I cant take any video footage or pics because I have proof of your customers shooting selfies and taking videos of them working out with their gym partner, and no one in our staff ever says anything)
You should realize that I am educated, my sister is an Attorney, and I speak at universities and in front of business professionals. I will share this story if it does not get remedied. I am also very humble. This is why I am giving you the benefit of taking care of all this. before I do the following
Take proper action for my scar, and negligence of your staff.
FTC Complaint - read complaint below for Mission George Location
Charging a membership but no letting me use it. Not completing my training sessions.
SD County Health Dept. - I have cut on my arm because of your equipment. Your Lemon Grove facility is unsafe.
Mission George 24hr
I started to work out at this location as of last November after a 5 month hiatus from the gym. It had been so long I forgot my log in phone number. The first time I went I explained to a nice young African American receptionist and he let me in based off what info I gave him.
The next week I try to get in and a white girl told me no. I could not recall my log in so I pulled up my BANK ACCOUNT and the legder showed 24hr Fitness $19. And she still said no.
I am going to need a refund for 5 months at $19 a month or FTC is going to here about this. You guys already spoke to me from corporate and agreed she should of let me in with the info I gave her.
Couple weeks later a young trainer approached me and asked if I wanted to work out. After a short workout he made a follow up where he sold me 10 sessions for $750 with 1 free session extra. The payments where broken down over a 6 week period lining up with our training period and when it came to the 3rd payment I was told I had to re-schedule 1 week of sessions to wait for the payment to clear? So I skip a week because of poor payments scheduled on your guys behalf.
Once all the money was collected I still had 2 sessions left. My trainer text me the day of a session, says he has an emergency cant make it, and so we re-schedule. Since I am a busy manager and business owner and I have little time to waist, I decided to work out anyways. And there was my trainer, giving someone else a training session. So convenient you guys are friendly when you want money, but when the money is taken you dont even render your services. So since I was lied to I stop going to that location and blocked that trainers phone number from my cell. I was never going to report it but these 2 locations have passed rude and now you know.
I need money back for those 2 sessions lost. Your trainer made an appointment; canceled on me because it was an emergency, and obviously got caught in his lie. Where are your GM's and managers at these locations?
I was too embarrassed to report the situation with the trainer, but now with your other location being negligent has turned everything around, and yes when staff is rude it sure doesn't help.
- 5 months at $19 a month owed
- 2 trainging sessions owed
- fire the rude girl or give her less hours. Dont ask me or her coworkers; watch the videos. I come everyday mon-thru 7pm-9pm
Now here is who gets to here me story
Globe Autowerks Facebook Page - I have 10k loyal and local customers
Globe Auto Tech - My fathers business I manage, has been in San Diego for over 30 years! - all his customers
My Sisters - 1 is an Attorney and she is also contracted by the federal govt.
The other sister owns a hair salon in Hillcrest. - her customers
FTC - Where is my refund for the months my services where not rendered? You may say, yeah but you never showed up. I say, yes I did and when I did I was rejected services for which I payed. I showed her my bank statement and she would no let me in - it said 24 hr $19 on the ledger sames day every month?
I want a refund for the 2 sessions, and no you cant make it up because your staff is rude and lying.
You got to remember over 10 years with you guys, over 7 locations I frequented. Do something ASAP about these 2 locations and the people I am mentioning. If anyone is sick or gets sick because of your negligence on your equipment and lack of doing anything I will be sure to provide my testimony. Thank you!

TAKEN CARE OF
contract not honored
In 2007, I signed a contract with 24 hour fitness, with a heavy upfront cost to ensure that I was locked into an annual membership fee. I went to the gym on 6/17/2017 after a gap of one year and the store sales person was trying to sell me a new membership for a higher value with the "reasoning" that my contract has expired.
I have always paid my dues and the resolution I would like is to reinstate my contract terms
denied cancellation of account
Beware 24 hour fitness! I cancelled my membership in March because I found I was already covered by my Kaiser Senior Advantage Plan. Customer service told me I was cancelled but I found out they were still charging me. They denied my ever cancelling, basically saying it never happened, although they did have a record that I had called they claimed no knowledge of what I called about, and refused to refund the three payments since Marchm therefore insinuating I was lying. Make sure you get everything in writing from them. There are more trustworthy alternatiives.
customer service
Denied Entry into 24 hour fitness despite carrying a valid "3 Day Free Pass". The staff was rude and was more inclined towards joining membership.
Policy is violated by staff who were acting as if they own the fitness center & doing a big favor by letting people in even with valid pass.
I demand an inquiry and action against the staff for failing to understand the policies listed on website and acting against customer service policies.
3 day pass
I signed up for a 3 day pass on 4/13/2017 and went at 9:06am to work at. When I went back on 4/15/2017 an employee by the name of Corie told me that I had to purchase a pass for $20 because I received a 3 day pass on 8/4/2016-8/6/2016. I explained to Corie that I have inquired about a membership before, but 4/13/2107 was my first time every working out at 24 hour fitness. Corie was very rude first stating that there're wasn't anything she could do and she didn't see that I came in on 44/13/2017. Then she changed her story stating that it showed I came in on 4/13/2017 at 9:06am and the General Manager Becky and discussed it cause I shouldn't been able to because passes are given out every ) months. Then I asked Corie a manager was available and she said no. After that I asked her if she could write down the dates so I can notify corporate and she said no but I can give you a pen and paper so you can write down the info. The was a horrible experience and I'm very upset
being charged without our permission.
Last year my son and I went to the 24 hour gym. They said that every month they would tells us that we had to pay, but we only went twice. We didn't have time to go after. But secretly they have been charging me from my bank account without my authorization for a whole year. And they said that i filled the form online but i didnt, i did it in person. I asked for a refund but they "can't" give me one. And the employee that attended us doesn't work there anymore his name was eli Acosta. Nobody actually helped with the situation and when it comes to money they always win. I 100% don't recommend 24 hour gym on fry road. Their managers name is Bruce something but he never spoke to us. Instead he made Eric Pena to fix the stuation.
customer service and facility site
11/20/2016 - Center Parkway 24 Hour Fitness Gym Facility -
Horrendous $20 Guest Day Fee - Customer Service Reps are absolute incompetent trolls. This facility looks like it's managed by monkeys because there's a huge lack of maintenance and care for their machines. Half of the dumbbells are always missing and there's no staff on the floor monitoring anything. I hope this discourages people signing up for 24 Hour Fitness - they've become the MCGYM of the United States. This isn't the first location I've visited and they are pretty on par in regards to how terrible their facilities are managed. I lasted a full 20-30 mins of the gym before the stench and dissatisfaction got to me and had to leave. I called to complain and was given this solution "We can offer you another day to come in." Seriously? Now why in the hell would I come back. Would you go back to a restaurant who served you food that tasted like crap and offered you to come back to try that same crap again? Hell no.
24 Hour Fitness is a joke.
$750 lifetime membership $300 personal trainer session.
I purchased a $750 lifetime membership, and also a $300 personal training session package 2 years later.
I went to travel abroad for a few months, and I was a month late paying my membership fee. I tried to pay online and it would not go through. I then called the customer service. They put me on hold, transferred me, and also told me they'd call me back. I was unable to get my so-called "lifetime" membership back. Once I got to someone that was able to find my account they told me that it's been too long to re-activate. . 3 months being too long to reactivate when it took them 2 months to find my account and call me back.
I then realized that 24 hour gym is a SCAM.
They STOLE $750 for 2 years of gym membership, and they also STOLE $300 for a training session I never redeemed.
membership
24 hour fitness "freeze account loophole" used to take our money.
Several months ago when my wife was having health issues I called 24 hour fitness to have her membership cancelled. The customer service rep talked me into letting them freeze the account in case my wife got better and wanted to go back. It would be frozen for several months. I asked if they would notify me before they started charging us again in case my wife was not well so I could cancel. They told me yes.
But that was misleading. What they really meant was they would notify us via email that same day I called. And that the email would have language in it that stated they would automatically start charging us again in the future until we cancelled and then they would refuse to refund the charges.
They use the loophole of sending an email that could easily go into a spam folder and never be seen, as their entire point to stand behind and take your money until you catch them.
I recently got charged again for the membership that we wanted to cancel several months ago. Apparently the "freeze" on the account expired and we were not notified they would start charging us again.
I called 24 hour fitness on 4/8/16 and spoke to customer dis-service about the charges and had to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor didn't care and just worked to get me off the phone after finally cancelling our membership.
I went to the actual 24 hour fitness center in chino hills ca and asked for a manager to tell them what happened. The local manager should know why they lose current and any future business from an unhappy client.
I asked for a manager and got someone who said they were a manager but didn't have a manager tag on. I went through everything with him. Then an assistant manager named wayne stepped in and he just tried to reinforce the loophole they use with the email.
They really don't care at all and you can tell they've been prepped on how to handle an unhappy customer who is complaining about getting charged when they shouldn't. They stand behind the loophole of sending an email months ago and said they could prove they sent it. That makes me think this is a strategy to grab extra fees later. I asked why there is no mechanism in place to ensure their clients see it, like clicking an authorization link. They just reply they sent it.
Their point is they sent a notice via email several months ago so they could start charging me now. My point is I specifically asked if I would be notified before they started charging us again so I could make a decision and they gave a misleading answer.
My opinion is all they care about is your money. When you walk in to the chino hills 24 hour fitness center the left side looks like a mini infomercial area pushing all of their products and supplements.
Their attitude about caring more for my immediate fee than doing what is right made me wonder how much care they actually put into keeping their machines clean for you. It made me wonder if the people in the kids room are qualified to make sure another kid doesn't come in who is sick, putting your kids at risk.
I wonder how many people lose a month or two's membership fees like we did and don't complain, and how much money 24 hour fitness is taking from them.
Since they refused to refund the charges, including one that happened in the last few days, I'm filing complaints with the BBB and several consumer sites. Anytime a health related conversation comes up with friends, family, or at our local church (which is a mile away from the chino hills 24 hour fitness center), I will bring up how we got ripped off by a 24 hour fitness loophole where they misled us.
I will recommend to everyone from now on they choose any other gym except for 24 hour fitness. This is not how customers should be treated.
Would you want to be treated this way?
Companies will continue to prey on people if we let them. Speak up and go online what you aren't treated fairly or are taken advantage of. I'd recommend staying away from 24 hour fitness. Our family will.
security
So, I go to the gym after debating if I felt like it all day. Walked to my car feeling exhilarating after a good swim and what do I see as I get closer. Glass on the ground. Yes, some low life broke into my car. Went back in to the gym to ask if there had been any similar issues and was told, "Yes we have had reports over the last few months." So, I wanted...

My office is actively investigating 24 hour fitness regarding their contracts, policies, and fee increases. We would like to hear from you about what you were told, what your contracts say (if you still have them), and what happened when your fee increased. If you have any information or copy of your contract, please send me an email at [protected]@kctlegal.com.
lifetime membership rate
For all of you out there with memberships at 24hourFitness, beware. In 2008, 24hourFitness (in Round Rock) ran a promotion that if you prepaid 2 years at typical rate, you would receive 3rd year free, and then lock in a lifetime rate of $49 per year, so long as you paid yearly fee on time. Now, 24hourFitness is reneging on this agreement. My yearly rate has tripled this year. Many consumer protection websites are recording the complaints of angry 24hourFitness clients with this same promotional fee structure. I contacted the 24hourFitness billing department - they were completely unhelpful and denied that anyone had locked in lifetime discounted rates. They claimed to right to change their fee structure at will. They refused to admit that there was a "spirit of good faith" in the contract. Those of you with promotional membership fee structures at 24hourFitness should review your contracts carefully. I will not be renewing my contract with this dishonest corporation.
The exact same thing happened to me. I paid a lump amount up front in 2007 and was told that I would have an annual payment of $49 for life. In 2016, my annual amount increased by 300% to $149. I have spoken to them locally and the Customer Service, but have gotten nowhere.
membership renewal
After being a member for over 15 years and holding a contract for life, my renewal fees increased by 100%. I called them and I was told to pay or quit, that they would not honor the lifetime agreement. The were not willing to review my contract. My renewal fees are $49.00 and it went up to $100 for one year.
membership
I took out a membership at the Westhiemer branch in Houston, TX. When I took it out I had asked if this would permit me to use the Woodlands branch on Lake Woodlands. The assistant told me YES it would be ok and that I wouldn't be able to use the one in the Galleria area. I took out the membership based on this information. When I went to the Woodlands club...
