Club atmosphere
This is an ongoing issue for me in your clubs. My family and I use the clubs for fitness purposes as intended. Reducing blood pressure, weight loss and generally getting into better shape is the reason for going to the gym. I am unhappy that every club I go to has news channels like msnbc, fox news, cnn, etc on and there is no way to avoid the stressfulness of this. I cannot believe that we need to get our news while trying to improve our lives. In fact, this detracts from the reason I am there. I feel my blood pressure rise and increased heart rate because these programs are unavoidably seen. Put game shows, reruns of sit coms, sports, educational tv programs, etc. or anything else besides the cable news on. Also this is a safety hazard as trying to avoid the news channels, I will close my eyes and operate the equipment. In today's society I find it hard to believe that people do not have access to this programming at home if the want to see it. Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: Please discontinue cable news channels on the video monitors. If unable to discontinue, then at least restrict the number of screens used for this type of programming. A response back to me is requested.
Upgrade fixtures, fix and repair broken fixtures immediately.
I recently joined 24 hour fitness at 1314 Fulton Ave, Sacramento CA. I joined to have access to the lap pool. I didn’t tour the gym first. That was a huge mistake. I went to the gym to swim a couple of days later and womens locker room was a filthy mess. It wasn’t sanitary at all and many of the toilet stalls where out of order, the showers and floor...

I belong to the 24 hour fitness on Austin bluffs in Colorado Springs and the steam room there has been broken for two months now and that’s totally unacceptable there excuse is waiting on the part and each time it comes in it’s the wrong one which is unacceptable also I like that club and I had to go to another club which isn’t 24 hour for the steam room and it’s been down maybe for a day or two but they fix there stuff let’s act like this is an emergency and get it fixed
Desired outcome: Fixed steam room or sell the club as it’s a profitable place
Group Instructor complaining
I am instructor working on these facility for over 3 years. I am disappointed with how we are being managed at San Jose, Crane Court.
The floor of the class room is always filthy. No microphones are provided for instructors. There is insufficient equipment for Body Pump class. Insufficient bar clips, and no available mats provided for the members.
Desired outcome: Please provide microphone, clips and mats for the members.
More than half of machine broken for past 4 month bathroom door latches broken
The 24 hours in California Redwood City is going down the drain n it’s new facility more than half of treadmills are broken for past 4 months and ones work the incline don’t work on them. I have told the staff about it but nothing has change everytime I come back to workout other machines broken. Usually this gym is pack I like using free weights but sometimes it’s pack so I go used machines as back up but lot machines are very unsafe they have broken arm or pins are missing so u can used them broken cables on machines. The bathrooms are grossed they don’t get clean in afternoon they don’t get stock either they have the staff but a lot they just chat in front desk instead someone cleaning bathrooms or restocking it. Bathroom door have no latches in mens restrooms vents for air condition shower have mildew the jacuzzi doesn’t work the pool has broken steps. It’s frustrating, annoying you pay for gym most stuff is broken managers don’t care at this facility I hope some manger headquarters reads their n doesn’t something about it
Desired outcome: For a functional gym that machines work or get replace by new ones that gym gets clean right now it’s disaster
Overall cleanliness of gym facility
I use a gym in Lancaster California. The gym is very unclean, paper strewn throughout the facility. The weights are rarely put back where they came. The actual station as in a bench press will be loaded up weights left by the previous member. Gym etiquette is non existent meaning a person will stay on say the Smith Machine for an entire hour and the worst part being the member will not allow someone to work in with them between selfies and text messaging.
THe manger doesn't appear to care when told of the concerns. The parking lot is equally as disgusting as a homeless encampment. Granted the Landlord should be informed but perhaps reported or asked by the manager or your office to clean it.
Desired outcome: how about reminding people when they enter ,,,a friendly smile and a reminder to put their weights away when they finish. And remind members that besides them are also other members who paid to utilize equipment.
Cleaning of sauna and pool area
I have been going to 24 hour fitness at, 1314 Fulton Ave.
Sacramento, CA 95825
United States, for about 5 months now. The pool side is completely black, water is greenish, and the saunas smell like sewer. I have brought this up to management many times and am not the only one complaining of foul smells. I have visited Luther 24 hours and it seems to be across the board but this location is getting worse. I know go to another facility but this is the most confident to me. Please don’t look at this as a Karen response and help us clean up our gym.
Desired outcome: Full clean of sauna and pool area.
Rude front front desk
Front desk at Pearl City was so rude. We are talking and asking her nicely but she responded us with rolling eyes and no smile at all. Like she’s not happy about her work. I ask her about the charges on my account since April 2019 ? And why there’s a charge? Long time I cancelled my account. She responded first, Oh I don’t know! So, I ask her, Whom I can talk too about my concern? Then she didn’t say nothing. she continue scrolling down and look into the computer. Then she said that oh you should pay the annual fee. I said why? Then she didn’t respond to me but staring at me. Then, that’s the time I told her that oh if that’s the case, why is it the last time we’re here, you ask a payment to become a member?
Girl if you don’t know what is customer service better quit your job. Check your face in the mirror while facing to the customers.
Management being inept at Team Clean during a pandemic decline and one beginning (Monkey Pox)
I've been a member of 24hour fitness or affiliated with the clubs since 1994. Since I was an undergraduate dating one of its trainers working at the Miramar Rd. Club in San Diego. I have seen managers come and go. I know the standards for TEAM Cleaning and have watched the efforts being carried out well and haphazardly. I have seen managers very astute at providing clubs that members can be proud of. I am very disappointed and wonder how the manager at College Grove is allowed to stay employed after repeated reminders that the cleaning standards are grossly sub par. Covid is waning as people are getting vaccinated, but Monkey Pox creating a possible contamination with touch should create a sense of urgency for all clubs to increase sanitation standards. These pictures were sent to me by a concerned member. I went to check to see if the stall was cleaned. IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS NO CHANGES. IF MOLD EXISTS - SO DO SPORES! IF THIS EXITS, SO DOES THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GERMS< VIRUSES AND BACTERIA TO PROLIFERATE. I just paid for PLATINUM MEMBERSHIP FOR A YEAR! IS THIS WHAT MEMBERS ARE PAYING FOR?
Desired outcome: CLEAN, SANITIZE OR REMOVE THE MANAGER WITH ONE WHO WILL DO THE JOB CONSISTENTLY!!!
Membership
I was a member for many years, but when covid hit I thought the membership was cancelled, especially when all clubs in Arizona were closed.
Imagine my surprise when I started getting billed again for a membership I cannot use.
I require all billing since the Phoenix clubs were closed to be reimbursed back to me.
Desired outcome: premiums since AZ facilities should be returned to me since I was unable to use the facilities
Lack of professionalism.
Well the employee Bree at this location on 6/23/22 at 10:40pm appears she outside of uniform, not wearing name tag denied me access to the restroom due to me being behind on my monthly dues and she also asked me why don’t you go “use it” outside? and said she surprised how “I haven’t used it” on myself after all this time.
This employee claimed to be a manager which would be an actual “travesty” if that be the case, she’s lacking professionalism, very condescending and outright a very disrespectful employee who probably shouldn’t have a job at 24 hour fitness, let alone be a fitness, at the very least with this bad attitude minimally she’s deserves to be at the unemployment line till she desires to have common courtesy and respect.
Everything she did and said is outside of respect and she took things way too far, I should contact legal representation to spoked to this and ridiculed due to me having my account not all the way caught up.
Desired outcome: Employee needs to be reprimanded including termination if the record calls for it and given stern notice of actions being totally unacceptable towards any guest no matter the financial set of circumstances.
Wow, sounds like she has a stick up her butt.
Hermosa Beach club is too hot
The management doesn't seem to respond to my requests of putting a fan in the long hallway area of weight machines in order to get some airflow going and cool down the club. It is the most hot and humid club I've ever been in. I have asthma and COPD and it's simply too hot in this club. It's mu home gym and closest to me. This is 24hourFitness not Gold's Gym, Powerhouse Gym, or UFC. This is supposed to be comfortable for everyone. It feels like a sauna in the weight areas. With the hottest temperature here now, it's also a health issue. We need a comfortable environment to workout, not a sweat factory or a sauna in the weight areas. Management does nothing. I've complained no less than 6 times over the past couple of months. They have an available fan that they could bring down and use in this area. But they choose to do nothing. Completely unresponsive management. Very disappointing.
Desired outcome: We need 2 additional fans in the weight areas. The one they have in that area now is broken and they have done nothing to replace or fix it.
Complaint
I have worked with 24hour fitness for over 3 years. And I have always enjoyed working with 24hour fitness. That is until the new General Manager Clayton Hove, of petaluma came into play. He has consistently berarated me, belittled me, verbally abused me and called me names. I have always done my job to the best of my ability and even stepped in to help...

Until recently this site has been kept clean and repairs made in a timely manner. Recently however the showers in the men's locker room have needed repairs. This was brought to the attention of one of the...

I have been coming to 24 fitness for over 25 years and I’m a bit fed up with the way people are treating the steam room and sauna and the locker rooms are dirty. They continue to put notes on the doors for not wearing tennis shoes and clothing in the sauna and not one person really gives a damn and management doesn’t care. People are abusing the steam room with putting water in the thermostat and a rag for continuous steam, but it does nothing if you can’t breath. People putti g there dirty shirts and towels in the sauna to dry off. It’s gotten worse even at the super locations.
Not worth 50.00 a month
Desired outcome: Drhook11
This gym at Redondo and hawthorne restroom not clean and the steam sauna.
Discrimination in Hiring Practices
After reading the career pages of your website and being a competitor and member at 24hr for years, I went to interview for a job opening on 3/9/2022
To my shock
Paolo M. - Sales and Service Manager implied I was an untrustworthy random stranger and that he only trusts his employee referrals and refused to interview me.
I'm considering filing with the EEOC and expect an apology from Paolo M.
I also expect the opportunity for employment as advertised on your website.
Paolo M is located at:

Local management
I am a 92.5 year old member of your gym at Fulton and Hurley in Sacramento for over 2 years. My complaint is that people in your facility do not wear masks as required; and the staff does nothing when I call it to their attention. I am not a selfish person; but my life touches many people in my work as an exercise, balance and physical fitness leader in several senior citizen residences. My life also touches my wife whose work places her in charge of many children. So the situation is not all that simple; and I think it is important that the requirement be enforced. As a third degree Tae Kwon Do black belt, it would be easy for me to enforce the requirement; but injuring another person could land me in jail - not a desirable outcome.
Desired outcome: Have the masking requirement enforced.
At Downey / CA location... On or about December 01/21, at the basketball court, somebody broke a window glass that sides to the rear parking lot. As of today, 12/28/21
-AFTER 4 WEEKS!-, the broken glass remains unreplaced. For that reason, the manager decided to close the basketball court. So, we, basketball players have been seriously affected by such a stupid and nonsense decision. Some, as in my case, just go there for the basketball court. Why is it so difficult for the 24 Hour Fitness in Downey - CA to replace a broken glass window? Since when have we become a 3rd world country?
The maintenance guy, with his unfriendly attitude, as usual, unloads stupid explanations, like "Our vendor is having problems finding the right glass".
Being harassed by general manager and other employee.
I was working out and my mask fell down over my nose. I suffer from asthma and can't breathe with it fully over my nose during my set. The GM came up with another guy threatening to kick me out or cancel my membership. I told them that I cant breathe with it all the way up. That between sets or walking around the gym I can keep it over my nose…. Hi...

Purchased life time membership and they closed all the gyms in all of the USA. False advertising and fitness scam? Attempted to contact them but there is no trace of them. Included a photo of my membership card for evidence and proof of membership.
