refund of subscription
My acorn tv service expired on June 21 and on the morning of the 22 I requested it to be cancelled and refund my 59.99 dollars. Their app does not work on my tv anymore so I cancelled the service waiting for my year to be up and re-started an Acorn tv service through Amazon. After several e-mails and a phone call to a service rep nothing yet.
Now I am paying twice for the same service.
I really would like to have the yearly amount refunded to my account and keep paying for the service through Amazon which is working well.
Thank you - Dan Wickert

customer service/double billing
The streaming service over all is ok if you don't mind a very limited number of episodes per program. The biggest issue I had was with their customer service. I was billed twice last month for my subscription. After over 40 emails back and forth with Robert A., their customer service professional, and having him tell me I was only billed once even though I submitted images of my bank account which clearly showed 2 charges back to back, then him telling me to check my account for a refund. 10 days later I still have not gotten a refund. Robert A. then told me to go through my financial institution to get the refund. That would have cost me $50.00. Supposedly my issue was "escalated" to a higher authority twice, each time that authority told me I had only been billed once. This back and forth continued for, as I stated above, 40 plus emails over 10 days. The last email they sent was asking for the last 4 digits of my debit card. That was on May 13. I have heard nothing from them since. I have not received a refund for the double billing. I have canceled my subscription with them and told them I would be placing negative reviews wherever I can.
If possible, use a credit and not a debit card. Debit cards give direct access to YOUR cash /savings accounts.
acorn tv
I signed up two weeks ago for the yearly subscription.
I noticed they were billing us monthly-which is more expensive.
I contacted customer service-no response.
I contacted customer service again-still no response.
I contacted them via Facebook-that is just an auto response.
I decided to cancel the services-I should have one month of service until 3/5.
However, Acorn took the one month payment but now has discontinued my service.
I can no longer access. I contacted customer service again-no response.
I contacted someone who helps admin an Acorn TV fans Facebook page-he took it upon himself to email Acorn TV admin with the issues-and guess what, no response.
Now we have to dispute the charges on our credit card because we did not receive the service.
subscriber, yet I have to pay further to watch specific programs
I tried sending a message to Acorn TV. It limits your ability to contact them-via drop-down menus that don't allow you to choose, 'OTHER." So, I'm forced to provide my issue as a "complaint."
My issue is not represented on the Acorn drop down menu. I subscribe to Acorn TV. Ergo, one would expect the offerings on Acorn TV would be accessible without have to pay further, to watch a program or series. The Miss Fisher series provides only two seasons on Demand-for free, the rest, even though I am a subscriber, are not viewable without paying further. This is just as inconceivable as the Midsomer Murders DVDs. Most of these series-although referred as a new compilation of stories, mostly contain at least two, episodes from previously issued DVD series. It's an undeniable "rip off." I'm not sure if Acorn is aware that subscribers aren't able to view The Miss Fisher series without further payment. I'm hoping it's a glitch in the Premier Channel streaming and not deliberately set up for further payment, by Acorn. It's a sad commentary, that even when you subscribe, Caveat emptor, must still be upper most in your mind. I hope you will seriously consider rectifying this situation.
comcast and acorn
I subscribe to Acorn TV via Comcast. And I have loads of problems. Today I began watching the series " Rector's [protected]@ife". Watched episodes 1 and 2, Then instead of episode 3 only episode 4 available. Went to Acorn website and there was all f episodes.
Plus called 3 months ago about problems closed captioning not matching dialogue, on many shows. Specifically Trial and Retribution which I watched in it's entirety on DVD from the local library, still not fixed. Also sometimes no closed captioning at all.
On your New on Monday thing you Wire in the blood which I watched about 15 or 20 years ago Season 1, Episodes 1, 3 and 5. Where are 2 and 4? Having watched this I know the episodes must be watched in order.
I pay $5 a month to Comcast, why can't I get the same programming as any other customer of Acorn TV?
can't log in on tv screen but can login to their website from my computer
We got our free week and then they took $4.99 from our VISA account on the 16th of September. Today is the 21st and tonight I couldn't get anything to load on the TV. I went to Account info to find they wanted me to log in again. It wouldn't work, I tried several more times. Then I used my computer to log in to their website and it worked. I wrote them an email telling them all this and still waiting to hear back. I tried the TV again but couldn't log in. This not looking very good. Thank God I used my VISA and they will get the money back from from them if they continue to ignore me. Good thing I didn't use a debit card.
Billing - charges reversal
Halo,
I registered with your site under anthony.[protected]@gmail.com, only to find out that the service was not available in Kenya. Unfortunately I have been charged twice for USD 4, 99 on my card. The first and last 4 digits on my card are 4054xxxxxxxx2159. The transactions were on 11th Aug and 11th July.
Kindly have the same reversed and future payments stopped.
Anthony
can't get access/payment keeps being declined
I can't log in and my bank card has been declined 3 times even after I checked with the bank to be sure ample funds were available. I was even going to upgrade to a one year subscription, but now can't even get a one week guest membership! Please restore my subscription--of any kind please.

Now I find this is not even Acorn's own customer service but some outfit that apparently handles things for thousands of companies. That makes me even more frustrated. Maybe it's buh-bye Acorn, hello Netflix. So sad.
streaming movies and shows
There are too many shows and movies listed on the Acorn website that are not available in Canada! Most of them are current shows. Only the older shows are available to us. I keep seeing:
THIS VIDEO IS RESTRICTED FROM PLAYING IN YOUR CURRENT GEOGRAPHIC REGION
Error Code: PLAYER_ERR_GEO_RESTRICTED
Session ID: 2018-01-07:fbe98a27a74bbe33d4b63ece Player ID: brightcove-episode-player
This has not changed in 4 months. Very limited viewing experience.
itunes renewal through itunes
Acorn TV was a gift 16 months ago, which was renewed by me yesterday. Watching Acorn TV on my television is great; however, one is unable to watch it on the iPad after renewal. Acorn TV directs one to renew through iTunes but there is no way to link the iTunes account to Acorn TV.
Error Message: You already subscribed to Acorn TV but not via iTunes. Please check your records for your subscription details.
Scammers
They are crooks.
I canceled this TV 3 months ago, but they didn't stop taking my money. I have written tons of emails, but everything was useless. They simply don't answer. No phone number provided. I have no idea how to contact these people. Maybe they ignore me on purpose? I don't want to pay for anything. Stop charging me.
To me, it looks like a pure scam.
I am thinking that I will have to cancel my credit card in order to unsubscribe. They have lost a future customer, and probably many others.
I am trying to cancel also. Same problem...no phone provided, followed canceling instruction and got no where. How do I get out of this mess?
They took money and their website stopped to work
Don’t pay money to the company www.acorn.tv. I wanted to use their website, but the staff continued to tell me that I needed to sign up. I did as they told me, but after that this website and my profile didn’t work on my device at all. I contacted the staff and asked what I needed to do next, but the agent advised me to try on another device and after that stopped to reply. Don’t rely on these people.
