I applied for ACORN TV service in October 2023, I set up an account using my debit card on line with Roku TV (they added a surcharge to the original $8.99 a month service fee from ACORN) I notified ACORN TV via Roku in November 2023 that I did not require there service anymore and cancelled the service, or so I thought. I checked to see if the service had...

I have made 2 complaints and calls to ACORN regards the man who I was involved with is a scammer. He's used my phone number to open a Facebook account. I want it removed!
But neither ACORN nor Facebook are compliant with the legislation.
As an individual I feel anger and helplessness.
If he commits a cyber crime do I get put through the ringer? I don't want to be convicted of a cyber crime because of this nutcase and because I'm left stranded with no way to prevent it. I need help!
Claimed loss: I don't know what he has done
Desired outcome: I want compensation against Jordan Manallack for the stress he has caused me. And I think Facebook and ACORN should be fined for letting me down.

Unauthorized monthly charges
Hi Unfortunately, I didn't notice earlier. So, in March I was moving from NY to Arizona and canceled all my subscription. Acorn as well. Somehow in May acorn self-initiate my subscription without me! This is outrageous action. On my profile with Acorn TV website, they do not provide billing history, therefore I cannot see my cancelation. I contacted them...

My acorn tv account is not working
I have had Acorn TV for 2 years and suddenly it stopped. I needed a password and when I asked for help I received none. My renewal is coming up on 24 September but I have had 2 weeks without Acorn and no assistance when i asked for it. For the past 2 years I have loved the service you have provided but this is has been a nightmare.
Can someone get back to me as a matter of urgency on:
[protected]@gmail.com or
madonna.[protected]@gmail.com
Thank you
Mary Fisher
Desired outcome: To be able to access your services as before.
Can’t login to watch . Resubscribed on July 14.
Had gift subscription that just expired. Renewed subscription on July 14, 2023 on Roku. I haven’t been able to login. Acorn says it is a Roku problem. Roku says it is Avorn authorization issue. I wasted $10 and 2 hours using a Roku expert and got no where. I have same userid and password for both Roku and Acorn. I have contacted both Roku and Acorn. I followed their instructions. I have checked both sites for updates. Turned entertainment system on and off. Can’t delete Acorn off of Roku homepage and reloading it.
Desired outcome: Either be able to login or get my money back.
Double charged
i signed up for annual membership on June 2nd. Was charged also for monthly membership. I decided to not contest the charge at that time but now I have no Acorn programs as of July 3rd Phone number on your page is useless as they say they are not connected with Acorn TV?
From my reading of your company, you do not care about customer service and will next call my credit card company.
Desired outcome: resolve my problem
Annual membership
I tried a free trial for one week on the site. Somehow I never got a user id or password. Before the week was up, I was charged $69.99 for an annual membership. If I was late, I only expected to get a $6.99 monthly charge. I have filed 5 complaints with your site trying to cancel this charge and membership. I keep getting notifications you will call but you never do. I can't log on formally and cancel anything. I have disputed the charge with discover and nothing happened. You either have terrible customer service or you are trying to cheat me. You may contact me by email at [protected]@gmail.com. If you will not at least call, I will cancel my card and contact the BBB.
Tom Arnold
Desired outcome: Cancellation of account. Either the charge should be cancelled or reduced to $6.99.
Acorn TV
I have been charged a monthly subscription for Acorn TV and it appears on my bank statement on March 22, 2022. I have never subscribed to Acorn TV and request CANCELLATION of that subscription and a refund of the money taken out of my account.
There is no-one here at this address that could have requested a subscription and I have no idea how it came about. The first I knew was when I saw the transaction on my credit card account.
I feel that I have been scammed. Can you confirm this. ?
Thank you.
Acorn TV
I subscribed to Acorn TV through Apple TV + on the assumption that I would be getting the Hercule Poirot series. Through this system it only shows 4 show. I'm very very disappointed in the fact that getting to watch Hercule Poirot series was the reason I sign up with Acorn TV. The customers show be made aware that they will only be able to view just 4 episodes. I'm cancelling my subscription because Acorn TV deceives their customers. It's a ruse, fraud, a bait and switch operation. Acorn will be losing a lot of services in not notifying customers they are cutting short the shows series to 3-4 episodes only.
Desired outcome: The desired outcome is to include all the Series/Episodes of Hercule Poirot.
Support Team issue
The Acorn TV Team has repatedly ignored my request for their help.
I am trying to use their recent Promo Code. They claim that their records show that I do not qualify.
They state that this promotion is only for accounts in the US and Canada.
I stated that I have always lived in Canada and have always paid them with my Canadian credit card.
This email converstion with them was on November 25. I have emailed them everyday since and I have gotten no reply.
The promo offer ends on December 3rd.
With their lack of acknowledgement of my emails, it appears that by December 3rd I will have just lost out.
Do you have any advice for me?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Mary I Anderson
Desired outcome: A response from the Acorn TV Team
Captioning
I watched Season 1 of the Republic of Doyle on Prime and then got Acorn TV to continue watching the following season. Only problem is, although the first season was captioned on Prime, the following seasons are not captioned. I have tried more than one episode, and the captioning is not appearing. I bought Acorn because I believed the same standard of performance (i.e. Captioning) would continue.
Desired outcome: I would like the rest of The Republic of Doyle to be captioned
Acorn tv
This company is a scam, they have been Overcharging me for past 4 months, they won't let me cancel. They send emails saying it won't be billed next month then they bill me.
I have had to cancel my credit card because of this, no phone number for customer service!
Please stop this!
Desired outcome: Refund for 4 months
Acorn TV
Paid for a 1-year subscription and this service is no longer working on my Android TV device (Nvidia Shield), Samsung Galaxy tablet, or web browser on my PC. Recieved less than 2 months service on an annual subscription for which Acorn TV refuses to issue a pro-rated refund or requested Amazon gift card of same value so I could switch to Acorn TV subscription via Prime Video. Several recent reviews of Acorn TV on various websites and Google Play Store clearly indicate this problem is ongoing for months on several device brands/types with no resolution. Further research indicates disruption of service is likely caused by Acorn TV implementing new DRM protocols. In such case they intentionally ended supoort on millions of devices wihout any advanced notice or method of recourse extended to those who paid in advance for an annual subscription.
Desired outcome: Pro- rated refund for months remaining on my subscription since they ended support on my devices @ June 19, 2021 through April 18, 2022.
Acorn TV Programming
I am very frustrated with Acorn's programming and will most likely cancel once again. They run series' that end abruptly and after searching the Internet I find that there was no renewal. There are also too many foreign films requiring that one watch subtitles. I find subtitles annoying because you cannot enjoy the visual aspects enough if you are reading all of the time. Programming is not changed often enough. I really like some of the choices, but am very disappointed at the overall programming.
Desired outcome: Address issues mentioned above, please.
Streaming service
I subscribe for a on year service. Two weeks after joining Acorn changed their streaming service with a new DRM and I could no longer stream the programs. I informed their customer service that I use Linux and that their DRM change has made it impossible to stream their content using any available browser. For over a month I have had email exchanges where each reply ignored the Linux issue and only suggested fixes like using the latest browser versions, upgrading my HDMI cable and other Windows related fixes. They refuse to take any responsibility for the problem caused by them for Linux users and refuse to refund any of the subscription fee. They have not offered any solutions for Linux systems and apparently are not concerned about the loss of service to the many Linux subscribers.
Desired outcome: Provide Streamin Service that supports Linux operationg system and browsers
on Roko box
Retreiving season 4, 5 or 6 episodes of A Place to Call Home ALWAYS causes system to crash and Roku to reboot. This happens with every episode for the past 2 weeks.
Desired outcome: Please fix this
What's going on
Have had Acorn for about a year and everything was fine. But now when I attempt to see Acorn on my Smart LG-TV I consistently get the message that "This video is no long available or this video is not compatible with your browser" or words to that effect. I cannot update the LG-TV. It's set. And until now I've had no problem with Acorn. I had no problem watching Acorn on my computer, but now that has changed too and I get the message that "this program is not available in you geographical region." I'm in Grand Rapids, MI, USA. What's going on with Acorn.

Did the trial and when I created stated I had 30 days. I canceled within 2 weeks and they still charged me. I contacted and they stated they never return monthly charges. Challenged with bank and they denied the claim. This is the worst streaming company on the net. Not only did I not use the full trial but they charged the fee within days of creating. Not a very proffessional or reputable company! I have all the documents with the dates included their was also an excuse that because of the virus they were behind in replying to emails. I think they actually did not cancel my account until after I reached their grace period so they could charge me, that's how dishonest they are.
acorn tv
Three months after canceling this service, (they require you to insure they did it after receiving and confirming your email to cancel), they are again charging my bank account for the service I don't have. This is after they confirmed they canceled my account three months ago. Unless they offer you an option like Paypal don't give them your bank account info or you will be sorry. Then again just don't get IT since I cancelled it because except for a handful of exceptions everything is just very old repeats.
billing systems and customer support cannot be trusted
Initial Problem: In late June 2019 Acorn TV activated an annual subscription in my name without my permission or any action on my part. I ended my subscription with Acorn TV in April 2018, over a year before June 2019.
Behavioral Problems
1. Displayed a stunning lack of competence in their customer service department by failing to read and comprehend the information I provided.
I tried several times to get customer support to understand the issue and for some reason they were simply unable to understand the basic information I provided. It took a BBB complaint before I finally heard from someone who seemed to understand the situation.
2. Failed to investigate and thus are unable to explain how a subscription was created without any action on my part.
For several weeks Acorn TV insisted the subscription was created via my Roku account. I told them several times neither Roku or I had any data/records showing that I had subscribed via Roku. They finally talked to Roku themselves and confirmed Roku was saying I was NOT and had NEVER subscribed to Acorn TV via my Roku account. At this point Acorn TV said they were going to look into how a bogus
subscription got into their systems. However, for some unknown reason Acorn TV failed to complete their investigation (I have no evidence they even started one) and
reverted back to insisting the subscription was created via my Roku account. Roku and I still have no data that shows this to be the case and Acorn TV has not provided any data to back up this claim; e.g. bank or credit card account information associated with the subscription, any IP addresses using the subscription, etc.
3. Have an odd lack of curiosity or concern about how a bogus and unpaid for subscription was created in their systems.
The only reason I can think of for a video streaming company to have no concern about such a situation is the old adage "follow the money". Whether they're creating these unsolicited subscriptions accidentally or on purpose I suspect that anyone who uses such an account will eventually be billed by Acorn TV.
4. Refuse to remove my information from their systems.
Acorn TV's position is that they will NEVER remove any consumer's information from their systems. Basically this means if you ever want to stop hearing from Acorn TV under any circumstances you need to subscribe with a throwaway email address that you use exclusively for Acorn TV and then cancel/delete that email when you are done with them. It's astounding that Acorn TV thinks this is good approach/policy
to take with consumers.
