Acurian Health trial
In August of 2021 I responded to an e-mail regarding a Covid trial and was scheduled for a video conference. When the time came their rep was almost 30 minutes late but we did have the interview and I was told I qualified and that I would hear from them to make an appointment. That was the last I heard from anyone at Acurian or anyone else involved in this 'study'.
I don't have any evidence of any harm that followed and I wouldn't have commented except for all the other similar stories. I don't know what they're up to but I would caution against getting involved with them.
Clinical trials
i spent 15 minutes on a survey for clinical trials about depression, i was matched with a covid trial but nothing even in my state. this was a scam. i was so excited to be in a trial for depression. this was a mean waste of time, you should be shut down
keep calling my doctors.
I signed up for a clinical depression study, but decided I no longer wanted to participate due to the many bad reviews I came across. Now, after canceling the video call to meet with them, they are bombarding my therapist's office with calls for medical releases, which I told my doctors to NOT give to them. I did say they could call and ask my doctors on the initial application, but if my doctors said no once, why are they continuing to harass them? It's ridiculous. I need them to stop, my doctors have asked me to please get them to stop!
Desired outcome: Stop contacting myself and all of my doctors.

Clinical Trials
I was told I would receive compensation for participating in a clinical trial, and scheduled an appointment for a video visit. I WAS THERE ON TIME! THEY WERE NOT! I will NOT reschedule if you can't keep up your end of the deal! Especially when you don't even provide a number to talk to a LIVE HUMAN BEING! I woke up early, got ready, clicked on the link, and waited, then waited, and waited, and waited. When I clicked on it again to see if something had gone wrong, I was told the time had passed. THIS IS NO WAY to run a company!
Desired outcome: Tell me why YOU guys screwed up!!!!
Chronic cough
I'm concerned how they obtain information on my problems cough. I don't answer surveys or answer calls on the phone. I called this number
[protected]. Sad to say gave them a lot of personal medical information.
Hope I wasn't set up as a scram.
Please if you can would like my information deleted from their site.
Wish I had thought twice. Was hoping they could help with my
problem.
Desired outcome: Take them off the circuit so that doesn't happen to another person. I would like my info deleted.
Scam covid-19 vaccine trials
Received a letter from Acurian Research in about September. Well-designed phish to get personal information. Received follow-up after I completed the initial screening, scheduled an appt for a, "Video," screening. Received an e-mail shortly thereafter saying that the study was currently filled and call back for an appointment at a later time. Kept getting reminders about, "Video," conference after the, "Thanks-but-no-thanks," e-mail. Comes the day of the, "Conference," was hounded with reminder e-mails and clicked on the link at the appointed time. Got this message - "Sorry. The time for your video conference has passed. Please reschedule." BS, I thought. So I Googled Acurian Research and started reading about all the complaints. Sure 'nuff, previous complaints mirrored mine. The company is a front for some other scam. Not sure what it is but I will no longer respond to requests for me to participate in Covid research.
I too received a letter back in September about the COVID-19 vaccine trials. After 2 phone interviews, I never hear back from them. I saw another one of their ads (I think You Tube), so I went ahead and filled out the info, I had a video conference, and then went to the facility, which was a long drive for me. After filling out forms I was interviewed by an assistant (oh by the way I did not write the date as they wanted so I had to re-write it, and then initial and cross out my "mistake"- very unnecessary step), got weighed ( I did not take off shoes, nor emptied my pockets). Turned out my BMI (body mass index) was over by .2 or about 2 pounds. My BMI has never been over 30. I was then told to call back the next week to see if I could get in again. the receptionist said she did not know if the company did that, so I am awaiting a phone call. I think this is b.s. if they want people to do these trials, you should not have to jump through hoops. {Also one more thing before I go- this is the SECOND time I was turned down for a medical study at this location}. Think I may research other complaints and post on Social Media!
Clinical trials
I received a phone call about interviewing for a clinical trial while on my way home ill from a hospital. I though an active trial was available for me as my dr had mentioned trying to get me into one. Lucky for me I had a driver that heard that conversation. We both got our hopes up that a trial was available for me. A call was scheduled for 8:00 am the next day. I was told I would receive an email with instructions at 7:00 am, and a reminder at 7:45 am and then a call at 8:00 am. I sickly crawled out of bed and no emails. And no phone call. Here's a couple problems I have turned into my lawyer 1) you did not identify yourself as a recruiter. 2) you prey on the sick and elderly 3) you give people a false sense of hope.
All 3 sue-able offenses. I'm tired of it and taking action. You ought to be ashamed for the way you conduct business. Good thing your representative was on speaker phone. This is the number that called me. [protected]. Ill see them in court.
Research study scam
I received a letter in the mail in 2018 explaining Acurian Health's research studies, with an 800# to call. I gave them some preliminary info and they sent me an eform to sign and send back, which would release my medical records. They also gave me the location of a clinic in my area that would be doing the study. When I called the clinic -- surprise, surprise -- they had not heard of Acurian Health nor were they involved in research. Acurian seems to be gathering HIPPA info illegally by promising money for studies that do not exist.
The first clue to their way of doing business would be to recognize that they advertise on FaceBook, an extreme left-leaning, anti-business organization.
They are NOT A SCAM! In 2012 I received a form from them to fill out. It appears that I was qualified for a research study for those with Diabetes II. Long story short -- they sent me to a doctor for consultation. I was put on insulin for two years and after that taken off insulin. Nine years later, I still see the same doctor and there is absolutely no cost to me. While on the research program I was paid a fee of hundreds of dollars (tax free). I do not remember how much I received but it was pretty nice. To this day I get A1C, blood pressure and talk with the doctor about what is going on with my diabetes. Once a year I receive blood tests to check my kidneys, etc. and there is no cost at all to me. This is great, as I know there is a doctor who keeps me apprised of where my diabetes is and also coaches me as I progress. Without the insulin I am still at 6.7 with regular medications. Best doctor ever! Again, this is NO SCAM.
It's strange that you say that because I was actually contacted by a legitimate study site about a week after I qualified. I got the voicemail but I haven't called back yet. I haven't seen anything to indicate that they are a scam.
Health study
I was contacted by them and qualified for a study and signed for them to receive a copy of my medical records and was told in writing that a local doctor would contact me in a week but they never did I called the doctors office and was told they never heard of Acurian health and didn't do studies what are these people doing getting medical records and how can we sue them get them shut down and jail time for their actions
High blood pressure studies
I applied for your high blood pressure studies, which was not detailed in what level health condition a applicant should be in. I applied on and called the toll free number. And was told an appointment was set for me. I received a call from a nonmedical recipients, recruiter. Asking me the same question that i already filled on application.I gave the person my blood pressure reading.I told by his experience that i wouldnt qualify for the studies because of my blood pressure wasnt high enough. Now i control it with type of medication, and i the blood pressure was nt stable i, d be at my doctor not a studies.Okay, my big is those who recruit people are not experienced medical assistant s or ant thing close.Give you research my personal medical history and condition s.For study should automatically qualify me.The way i see it i am assuming you medical pharmaceutical company lure people into filling out application providing you with personal medical history, manipulating them to be ing compensated for the studies that you guys return deny them, by informing them they quallify.Having there information in your databases.I qualify this high blood pressure, and i didnt make appointment is because i was informed i dont qualify.I should be compensated for the moment i filled out the application for the studies. It's the same routine every time i apply for study.I feel it a scam and it ethier make right or be sued for taking personal information on somebody for you database
Message left on my phone
I received a message April 25, 2017 asking me to call Acurian Health. It was a "robo call" so there was no information as to what the call was about. Since I didn't know if it was important or not, I decided I better call. I have called two times this morning. I was NEVER able to speak to a live being. The first phone call kept me on hold for TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES! I had other things to do & other phone calls to return (to people who actually answered the phone & talked to me, what a concept, eh?), so I finally hung up. Then I tried calling again a little later. I have now been on hold listening to "Thank you for holding. One of our specialists will be with you shortly". Here it is THIRTY-TWO MINUTES LATER! DO NOT CALL ME and ask me to return a call if you will never answer my return call!
Acurian has called me and left a voicemail 3 or 4 times within the past 2 weeks (since I did not answer the call) it was brief...10 seconds..."if you want to be removed from our call list, press 2." They called from telephone number [protected]. I called the number back and it is a non-existent number. I've reported this number 3 times now to the 'National Do Not Call Center' but am still receiving calls. If I knew exactly where they were calling from I'd shoot the [censored] right between the eyes!
Scam unethical behaviour
I received a ltr from the dtd August 2016. In this ltr It states Advances in Arthritis research could start with you: The web is (www.YourArthristisResearch.com) [protected], [protected]; Do you have Arthritis and hip or knee pain, stupid me, I went on the dam site, fill out the questions, pertaining to me and received back, no doctors in research to help me. I went on the internet and typed the phone #'s in, I was informed, they had no records of such numbers. So now, they have info regarding my health, and whatever it may become. What can I do to correct this stupid error on my part?
After receiving a letter in the mail I called Acurian Health. They asked preliminary questions then emailed a form for me to e-sign, which would release my medical records to Acurian. On the phone they also gave me the name of a doctor's office nearby which would be conducting the research study in conjunction with Acurian. When I called the doctor's office -- surprise, surprise -- they had never heard of Acurian or the research study. Acurian health seems to be gathering info illegally with promise of payment for research studies that do not exist. Give them your info at your own risk.
Arthritis research study
I rec'd a letter from Dr Christopher Haines, MD, from Acurian Health, as many others have, inviting me to participate in an arthritis research study in the Sun City West Area of Arizona. Don't know how this company zeroed in on me. The letter says it's a no cost medication study with payment up to $1, 000. Wants me to respond by 8/25/16 for enrollment. Since this involves my medical information, I will call the number provided, [protected], to learn how my name was provided to them. You would think if it was a referral from my doctor, (1) my doctor would have told me, and (2) the letter from Acurian would reference that. But, the P.S. in the letter says "Health Insurance and referrals aren't required." After reading the several complaints on this website, I am surprised this company has not been admonished in some way.
If you actually read the letter, it gives you the website so you can read the privacy policy and get more info on how they would have obtained your info. You probably signed up for something without reading the fine print, like requesting more info about a condition or accepted a free offer. The website also tells you that they do not get your info from your doctor unless you explicitly gave your doctor permission. The reason they have not been admonished is because they aren't doing anything illegal. People just don't pay attention.
Unsolicited mail
I resent this intrusion on my privacy. They are trying to enroll people in clinical trials. I was wrongly given the diagnosis they are recruiting for by an orthopedic quack doctor in Lawrence, KS. Likely studies like this enrich no one but Big Pharma. They are probably trying to get a new drug approved, Beware incompetent doctors, greedy drug companies, and their lackeys.
Not only are they attempting to fudge studies on a drug to get it approved, it appears they are attempting to get personal information about as many people as possible because they can sell your information to many people and corporations legally to make money. Never give your personal health information to anyone who doesn't directly treat you medically.
I think a bunch crock these people send you information in the mail.for studies, which in return they take your personal information down, and than talk with you on the phone .make an appt., than call in just tò be have appt .canceled from a non medical examiner. I think this company needs be sued for misleading people and than taking personal medical information to file.
Nobody is invading your privacy. It's a piece of paper, throw it away if you don't want it. You probably signed up for something or gave your info away without stopping to read the agreement. There is nothing wrong with trying to get new drugs approved. That's exactly what they're doing and it's very plainly stated that they are conducting drug trials and research studies. That's how new drugs get FDA approval. And they didn't diagnose you with anything so take that up with the doctor, not Acurian.
It is an invasion of your privacy to ask for personal information without some kind of program that can be verified. One complaint stated the local doctor they were sent to had never heard of Acurian Health or any kind of drug study. This company is definitely on the shady side of the road.
Invasion of privacy to send you mail? Get real.
Robo-caller
On April 20 I received a phone call from "Norwell, MA" with the number [protected]. The caller said she wanted to know if I wanted to be part of a health study. The background sound was that of a "boiler-room" operation. I told her I was not going to give information over the phone to a cold-caller. I asked for the corporate number. She gave me [protected]. That number had an automated answering machine that provided nothing connected to a study. I returned to the Norwell number and told that responder what the corporate number had. She said she would call me in a few minutes to resolve the "problem". She never called.
On April 21 I tried to call Acurian. I explained the problem above to the responder. He said he was not aware of anyone posing as Acurian. He had a foreign accent. When I told him THAT was why I was call, he began to give me the "run-around". I interrupted and asked him for his manager. I was on hold for about five minutes before I hung up.
This company does not appear to manage its cold-calling teams well.
I submitted the complaint. After using my LinkedIn log-in information, the complaint website presented me with my complaint. Since at most two minutes expired between filing and logging in, I have not had a response from Acurian.
This company offers you money in return for taking their surveys. All they want you to do is keep on answering their questions . In the end you will not and do not get paid anything at all. It's a pure waste of time.
Receiving clinical trial offers in the mail, addressed to my Dad who passed away 15 years ago.
It's been about ten hours now. Have they contacted you yet? We're all waiting to hear the rest of this interesting story!
Obtains minor child personal info
I have received a letter addressed to my 5 yr old son stating that he has been selected in a demographic study when neither myself or my wife had authorized any such info o our child to be released. When attempting to contact the numbers listed on the letter first the representative Brandi said that I had authorized my sons info to be sold when I advised her that no such authorization was given I was transfered to Marianne (phone # dialed was [protected]) who also agreed that this letter for a depression study should NOT have been sent to my son. When I asked her to tell me how they obtained his info she stated she didn't know and gave me 2 phone numbers to call out to their corporate office in PA.
After calling the following phone numbers [protected] and [protected] I would just continually get disconnected. Finally I left a voicemail for Patricia on the option for corporate/hr issues. I then also found another number of [protected] where I reached a rep by the name of Patricia who likes to speak to people in a very condisending tone stating they did nothing wrong by obtaining a MINOR childs personal info, after getting no where with Patricia I requested to be transfered to a person who could tell me how they got my sons info, I was then transfered to an extension for Donna Lee (who by the way is no where in the company directory when calling the corporate numbers I was given as I was assured by Patricia that I was speaking with Acurian Health amd not a call center doing their work out of state) where of course I was connected to another voicemail.
This company SCREAMS fraud as how in the hell could they legally purchase a minor child (who again is only 5 years old). I have worked in an office/call center for the past 13 years and NEVER could imagine telling someone the things that Patricia tried telling me to justify why they have my sons imformation.
A letter was received, 4/2016, recruiting my dog for an arthritis study in humans. It says she "voluntarily provided information to other data sources to share this information, or was obtained through public sources." I question where and how they obtained her name, address etc. Isn't this a bit illegal? To top it off, my dog has been dead 17 years.
Medical trolling should not happen.

Have had three calls from [protected] in three days (so far), May, 2015. All left identical messages (pre-recorded) from "Miss Wagner at Acurian Health" about a "dust allergy study" offering compensation of $45 per visit. Caller ID said "UNAVAILABLE" for all three calls. Our number is on the Do Not Call list, which this company is apparently ignoring. This is not how a "reputable" company does business.
I received two letters on the same day - today 1/14/2016 - and called the number as I was excited about participating in a Arthritis research. After the first three questions (my address), I proceeded to answer half an hour worth of personal questions for the operator to say at the end, "we don't have any research opportunities in Mesa"...This is such an abhorrent misleading letter - hoping you can get some relief - yet they keep you on the phone for 30 minutes to tell you "NO"! DISGUSTING!
These people keep calling me, not saying anything and hanging up. When I call them back they say "I can't hear you". Maybe because of the 800 people that are talking in the background.
After 7 attempts I finally reached a supervisor who was a pompous b^^^^ who tried to make me feel I should be grateful they called me.
If this is how they handle their phone surveys I would be extremely hesitant allowing them to give me drugs. On second thought, I wouldn't allow it.
BAD COMPANY, BAD PEOPLE.
