I received a letter from our HOA via Alliance CAS on 7/19 about owing overdue fees/interest.
I received a letter from our HOA via Alliance CAS on 7/19 about owing overdue fees/interest. Ten days later, a second letter arrived with a lien copy, indicating an increased debt to Alliance CAS. The details of additional charges were not clearly explained, nor how to contest them. The contact number provided was disconnected, and no communication from Alliance CAS was received. After researching, I contacted their corporate line and was sent a statement with a new, significantly higher amount due, including charges from the HOA. Alliance's fees had inflated the debt by more than sixfold. Subsequent calls to them resulted in representatives claiming they couldn't hear me and disconnecting the call, despite my ability to make other calls without issue. These practices are unfair, unreasonable, and unacceptable!
This company is charging 1200 collection fee on a 100 late payment
This company is charging 1200 collection fee on a 100 late payment. They're charging over a 100 a month in interest and penalties. Alliance got this account from Oak Woodlands Property Homeowners Association over a 100 late payment. The first time I heard from this collection agency was a year later and they told me I owed 1200 due to fees, penalties, and interest. I argued that I owed maybe the 100, but nothing more. I've been paying yearly as an absentee owner for 20 years. The reason for being late was that I had moved and didn't get the bill. After explaining and disputing the claim, I didn't hear anything back. Now I understand that I owe 2400. They're charging over 100 in penalties and interest on a 100 debt. I didn't sign anything with Alliance. I offered them 700 to settle, but they said no. What they're asking for is more than the property is worth. I question a predatory practice that lets Alliance charge any amount for their service and impose penalties and interest without consent. There's no way to resolve this other than getting ripped off and paying. This should never be allowed. 2400 is now growing 100 a month over a 100 debt. Please help. I'm sure I'm not the only one affected by this company. I do believe in paying my legitimate debts. This is unfair.
I'm disgusted by this company and am surprised what they're doing is legal!
I'm disgusted by this company and am surprised what they're doing is legal! I owed $600 for my *** which is on me (this was my first home purchase and thought I just had to make the payment within the year). Nowhere in my ***s bylaws does it state anything about payments not received by 01/01. Due to the ***s negligence, I received NO notices whatsoever on a balance due until 04/22. My notices were to be sent to my address but they failed to send them. Then I get a notice from Alliance about owing $1100. After I gave birth and recovered from my c-section, I called to settle to which I was advised Id receive an email within 24-48hrs. After not hearing back, I reached out via email and was advised to send my settlement offer in writing. I requested to settle for $800 then found out I owe over $2200! For $600 *** fee? They are complete robbers and shame on them and the *** for allowing such sharks to prey on homeowners who are struggling financially! I cant wait to move out of here and any *** who is dealing with Alliance, Ill be sure to stay far away from! I just want to get this handled once and for all and Im NOT paying $2200. If Alliance is willing to settle for half, that would be great. But please do not prey on homeowners who are struggling to get by! Just having a baby and dealing with pp depression, I do NOT need this in my life!

The place is tryin to over charge me for an account that was transfered over to them from another company
The place is tryin to over charge me for an account that was transfered over to them from another company. The original debt was wrong. We went on for years. I tried to fix this issue year after year. The last time I reached out to them, February 2022, I was told that they know nothin about my account and that it has been transfered out to another firm. When I contacted the other firm I was told that they did not have my account either. I then reached out to my property management, ***, and paid the money to them that was due. Once alliance realize that I was payin the full balance they magically had my account again! They then reached out to me for a balance that went from $800 to $8900. They were chargin me well over $5000 in fees just to collect. Account number ***. I have tried and tried still to fix this and I am not gettin a result. They placed a lien on my home for $1200. I paid all money on the property. The lien still remains on my home. The manager *** seems to be more interested in stoppin me sell/refinance my home then she is in fixin the situation. They have yet to make or accept a settlement from me on this matter. In addition, they have charges for me in 2020, during the pandemic when all other accounts, ie federal loans home loans, was on hold, they were still chargin and runnin up balance.
Deceitful and unethical behavior: They knew we had a paid account but still held onto the check and charged us over $275 in fees
Deceitful and unethical behavior: They knew we had a paid account but still held onto the check and charged us over $275 in fees. On February 22, our daughter received a statement at our Maitland address saying that our HOA account was being sent to a collection agency. We had mailed a $200 payment (check #1181) on January 10. However, the management company for Winfield HOA, Specialty Management Co of Central Fl, claimed they never received check #1181 for $200. Then, on February 24, we received another email from Alliance CAS with a Statement of Account Summary for a whopping $489.40! According to the statement, they assessed charges for interest, collection placement, initial letter fee, and collection placement notice on February 14...more than thirty days after I sent the $200 payment for 2020. Frustrated, I mailed a certified letter to Alliance CAS on February 26, to dispute the charges. But around March 9, we received another letter and Statement of Account Summary from Alliance CAS, this time for $492.70, dated March 3. In the letter, they basically said that they don't have to notify us of missed or late payments, so tough luck. They claimed it was our responsibility to make sure payments were made on time and received by the right party. This was in response to our request for copies of any notices they sent. On March 19, we sent a second certified letter to Alliance CAS, stating that the payments were indeed mailed (certified) and received by Winfield HOA/Specialty Management. We made it clear that the account was now paid in full, with check #1182 for $100 (for a missed payment in July ) and check #1183 for $200 to replace check #1181. We also requested that all fees be waived. The next day, on March 20, we checked our bank account and saw that all three checks had been cleared. Surprisingly, the check we mailed on January 10 (#1181) for $200, which Speciality Management Co of Central Fl claimed they never received, was actually deposited by Alliance CAS on February 14. On March 24, we spoke with ***, an Account Manager for Alliance CAS, LLC. Mr. told us that they received my file (WINF-26) on February 14. When asked if they received check #1181, he said they did. However, when asked when they received the payment, he said it was processed in March. We informed Mr. Mayzlin that the check was actually deposited by Alliance on February 14, and then we were transferred to the Dispute section/dept. *** from the Dispute section/department joined the call and we asked her when they received my file (WINF-26). She said it was processed on February 13 or 14, and referrals usually come in a few days prior. When we questioned how a check that was "never received" by Winfield HOA/Specialty Management Company was deposited by Alliance on February 14, the same day charges were assessed, Dianne confirmed that Alliance did receive check #1181 for $200. She didn't confirm the date they received it or how they received it. Instead, Dianne asked for copies of the two checks we wrote on February 26, to the Winfield HOA. She said she would check with Specialty Management to get an updated report. We emailed photo copies of all three checks to ***@alliancecas.com on Tuesday, March 24.
