Refund if overpayment of payoff of vehicle
March 20 2022 payed truck off. Have an overpayment of just over $5000. I called to ck on payment and they said that payment would be processed in 20 days that the “pay in full” team was overload with overpayments right now. I received a letter in the mail April 4 saying thank you for your recent payoff. I called to inquire about the over payment and now they are saying 45 days plus a few days for confirmations. What!? I told them I wanted to speak to a manager, she (mecheyl) apologized and said it will be 45 days now. I told her that I believe that was illegal for them to hold my money that long that I wanted to speak to her manager. She put me on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. Still have not spoken to anyone who cares that I have such a substantial refund, we are sorry is all I get. We sold the truck and cancelled the insurance we purchased, that is why a large refund. The insurance company sent it to me to send the the bank. We did that and sent it overnight. It took them 10 days just to post it. I will be contacting WA Banking Commission to also file a complaint. I have a lawyer that I also will be speaking with along with filing a complaint with the State Attorney General and the FTC. This is not ok.
Desired outcome: Expedite my money to the normal 10 business days.
Wire transfer's at ally bank are a joke
This is the most ridiculous bank that I have ever had to deal with. I sent a large wire transfer from ally to bank of america, because I didn't feel my cash was safe there. So I inititated the wire and now they are not honoring my wire transfer and lost prevention locks out my account with no warning or anything. Called 4 times still nothing fixed, the customer service is poor, no one there has any banking knowledge at all. I am so frustrated! I just want my money so I can close my ally account. Please do not bank with them you will have so much trouble!
Desired outcome: I want my cash wired to my Bank of America Account now! Why do we pay $20 extra???
Was this agent's name Charles by chance?
After a challenging encounter with him, I asked for his last name as I'd like to call back during the week to speak with his supervisor. He said "I don't have one"...okaay, fair enough I guess...but then followed up with "I'm not going to tell you" and hung up on me. No joke. This is the Loss Prevention department. WTF. I called back, that department was closed.
Either their phones are linked to a clock in the basement where they must be working out of, to need our funds so badly while causing us hassle and making my daughter cry, or they are just really awful at customer service and I have absolutely no time for this bs. Ally bank, fix yourself...and give us back our money pretty please, if you need a loan you can just ask nicely.
Ally Bank not honoring wire transfers!
Ally Bank not honoring wire transfers! 03/30/2022
When you specify on an Ally Bank's transfer form to wire funds to another bank Institute they will generally ignore your wire transfer request and mail a check to keep the money in their bank longer. The funds are debited from your account immediately and do not accrued any interest until they are deposited in the next bank Institute. The time frame involved is usually one to two weeks to arrive and be processed at the next bank Institute versus a wire transfer of 1 to 2 days. In my case it was a substantial amount of money being transferred that had no interest for almost 2 weeks versus 2 days if it had been a wire transfer!
Desired outcome: Financial compensation for the interest that I lost on the substantial amount of money that I had asked Ally Bank to wire transfer. ...On March 24, 2022, Customer Care email stated, Ally Bank does not provide compensation to its customers.
Deceased account dept.
My brother passed away and had a loan with Ally. This company is predatory at best they took advantage of a handicapped person. I contacted them an informed them of his passing. They forwarded me to the Deceased accounts dept. They were the rudest most unconcerned condescending bunch of people I have every had the displeasure of talking to. All they want is their money. I explained that I could not do anything until the estate is settled and I had the death certificate (this can take up to six weeks). I called kept them informed during this process. Meanwhile while they know that I was waiting on a death cert. and had my information if they needed to reach me, They put the car out for repossession. This was like owing a loan shark. If you do business with this company you need to have your head examined. I will no longer do business with ANY company that does business with Ally. So all you dealerships out there Next me, my family or any one of the thousands of people I have access too needs a new car, they will be asking if you use Ally as a finance company and if you answer yes, don't be surprised if they stand up and walk out.
Desired outcome: Ally to be brought up on charges of predatory loan practices.
lost automobile title and lien release
I requested that the title and lien release be sent to my "secure" post office box as I live in a rural area. I was told that the documents would be mailed to my post office box. The documents never came and when I inquired, Ally provided Fedex tracking number. The package was never delivered by Fedex. Fedex Proof of Delivery (see attached) shows "no" street address.
I spent hours yesterday on the phone with your company. I was told I would have to wait 30 days.
I am driving an unregistered car and request immediate reissue of lien release and title as it is the fault of Ally for not mailing the documents to a secure and requested location.
Desired outcome: Issue new lien release and Title
Auto
I leased a Jeep Cherokee back in Aug 2019 from Sterling Heights Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Ram located at 40111 Van d*e Ave. Sterling Heights, MI 48313. Ally was the bank that held the financing for it, which was setup at the dealership. It was a 2 year lease.
At the end of the 2 year lease, we had the option to extend it for 3 months. We took the option. Ally mailed an extension agreement which I signed and mailed back. I continued to make the payments for the extension. Some time in month 3, Ally called and stated that they never received the contract but have received the payments. I asked that they resend another extension contract and that we extend for a final 3 month period that would ultimately expire Feb 15, 2022. They said that was fine as long as payments stay current.
We continued to make the payments and went back to the dealership on February 8th to just purchase the vehicle outright. The Finance Manager Denise, after having me wait for 45 minutes, calls me in to her office to have me sign the purchase docs. As I'm sitting reviewing them as she is pushing me to sign, I realize that they are trying to charge a 6.1% interest rate!? My credit score is over 800. After letting them know that was unacceptable, I went to my bank to have them finance the purchase.
My bank was able to provide the loan at 2.99%. I went ahead signed the docs and that same day, my bank mailed out a Cashier's Check to Ally Financial (see attached). On February 14th, I woke up to leave for work and noticed that my car was gone! I called the police to realize that the car was repossessed.
At that moment, I called Ally Financial. The first representative told me that they don't see that the car has been repossessed, that payments were current, and that I needed to talk to another department. I was transferred to another representative... Representative number two literally told me the same thing and said that I needed to talk to another department... Representative number three confirmed what representatives one and two said and then said that I needed to talk to yet another department?!?
Finally at representative number four they were able to see that the car was indeed repossessed. At this point, the representative became confrontational even though I was trying to provide proof of payment and it was clearly in their system that payments were current! They said things like"surrree your bank sent the payoff."
Today is now February 15th. I had my bank send a letter and proof of payment to Ally and now Ally is saying that the payment needs to come from the dealership. I called the dealership and the dealership, specifically Gary Riashi, said that was false. The dealership does not have to be the party that sends the payment.
Now I'm stuck in the middle, without a vehicle to go to work, between Ally and the Dealership as they point the finger. Now Gary Riashi is stating that it is out of their hands and do not want to provide any support even though Ally maintains that it is them. Truly, both are at fault with Ally now holding the vehicle.
What a disaster! They not only have all the funds but they still have the car with no end in sight.

10 day payoff/ impound department sucks
This is the worst place ever! I had been calling this impound department of ally financial obviously closes all day for 2 days now in order to have a freakin meeting notification left on their voicemail! I have an insurance company calling these people over and over for the past 2 days because I need a 10 day payoff to settle my total loss claim! I am left without a car the insurance company is trying to settle with me and my lien holder “ally financial”
then when you call customer service no one can help you if your account is flagged saying its impound which is not true! my issue is why is it the workforce team or manager did not forecast enough shifts to cover the meeting or is this what you do shut down the entire freakin department and no paying customers can get resolution or no assistance. This is the worst place to get lending with, especially you have needs and their is not 1 person in that damn building that can assist you with them in the department. This is unbelievable and I now see why bbb have this company as a credited business! I will be reporting this on every single web page on every social media platform as well as complain to the bbb.
Desired outcome: SCHEDULE PEOPLE TO ANSWER THE FREAKIN PHONES IF YOU HAVE THAT THE DAMN PLACE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!
Ally Lease - BuyOut Manipulation
I have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon I bought for my wife in 2019. It's been very lightly driven and is at end of lease. Market value on this vehicle is 53-58K, my buyout is 41K. That is as long as I buy it out, to the dealer they will only accept 58K.
Their hope/deceptive practice is to get me to turn the vehicle in at no buyout compensation, they sale it at market and keep the difference from 41K and 58K by strong arming the little guy. I actually have the money to buy out the vehicle, so they're not winning on me... but this practice should be illegal as hell. Who cares who rights the check to buy it out?!?!
Desired outcome: Ally tells Dealer my actual buyout value and takes that cash from them like every other lease/dealer turn in process. JEEP SHOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS.
Auto loan lease
Charged taxes during buyout yet title not registered in my name!
I have seen 2 other complaints here with similar issue.
I bought out my lease 1/10/2022. Ally charged me for the state taxes $1481.89 thinking they will register the car in my name. I got the title but it is not in my name! I went to the secretary of state and was told I have to pay the same tax amount to secretary of state. What did Ally do with the taxes they collected from me? This is textbook FRAUD.
I tried calling them many times but I could never talk to anyone even after waiting 58 minutes on hold. They hang up on me.
Secretary of State office advised me to complain with the state general attorney as they have seen more than one case with the same problem. It is sad this company keeps scaming customers and the law didn't catch up to them yet.
On January 31, 2022 I finally got to talk to someone at Ally. He said they have the right to collect taxes and refused to answer why my title isn't registered in that case! and why am I paying taxes to them and to secretary of state.
I have receipts to show but not able to attach them here, only pictures formats are allowed no pdfs.
Desired outcome: refund of taxes I was charged for title registration that I had to register and pay tax directly for at Secretary of State again.
Auto loan
My name is Robert Simmons, 1821 Cortez Lane McKinney, TX 75072. I am extremely upset with the service provided. I have an Auto Loan with your organization. I had Covid from August 13- September 10.2021. I was unable to talk and laboring to breathe. While I was sick, my wife attempted to call in twice and was denied access to making a payment, and was told she is not on the account or authorized. My wife finally called back and had to put herself at risk and was advised she was on the account, but someone should have allowed her to make the payment without talking to me . The supervisor said he would have the 30 day report on 09/21 removed, and call us back. Never received a call back. Called back on 11/21, the supervisor stated he was putting in a request to remove it due to the customer service issue and inconvenience. Said expect a call back and for it to be removed in 45 days. It has been well over 45 days. I called in, and was told it will not be removed. Then when I asked for an exclusive, it was placed on hold for 55 minutes and no one checked on me. I would like this company to stand by their word. The time and money lost waiting and following up, and then for everyone to drop the ball. I am truly floored. I need someone to contact me . I just wish someone would handle me with care and honor their word. Just Terrible.
Sincerely,
Robert Simmons

Desired outcome: honor removal of 30 day late report 9/21
Ally lost my car title
Took five year loan and paid off in four years. Loan was paid in full on November 15th 2021. Ally Financial insists title was mailed on November 26th and I need to be patient as they are insisting that the United States Post Office takes a month to deliver the mail from Maryland to Illinois. I had their incompetent customer care team email me a lien release letter. Today is December 14th. I had to spend an additional $50 to get a duplicate car title from department of motor vehicle. There are literally hundreds or thousands of complaints against Ally Financial for failing to mail title on paid off retail automobile loans. Thanks to Ally's incompetence I have to wait two months for a replacement title from the DMV. I did have their lien removed. I have filed a complaint with the Illinois attorney general and department of banking and insurance.
I have the same problem and I want to file a complaint. However, I thought they are based in Minnesota. So I am wondering why you filed a compliant in Illinois.
Also submit a BBB complaint, they followed up with me and they told me they will contact them. This is a scam company.
ALLY Financial
I paid off my 1996 1500 Cheyenne I need them to release the lien saying the car has been paid off they have a ethical and moral obigation to send me my title to P.O. Box 19357 Austin TX 7876 ph 7014224
Desired outcome: give me my title i dont owe then anything
lease buy out
I bought my Ally lease out on a vehicle, and they have not provided me with my title as of December 6th. Ally cashed the check on November 5th. I have attempted to contact them several times but could not withstand the on-hold marathon and ended up giving in to the frustration of hearing painful elevator music that played on repeat. Today, however, my endurance of 53min and 38 sec paid off. I refrained from losing my mind and politely inquired about the issue and how to come to a resolution. Apparently, I will be waiting another two weeks. A DocuSign needs to be created and sent which will take 2-3days. Throw in a weekend or two along with processing, printing up the lease and mailing it out and maybe I will have it by the 21st. I will never do business with this institution again. If I took a month to return the lease, I'd be dinged for all sorts of fees. Completely and utterly disappointed not only with the process but to expect your costumers to be on hold for 53+ minutes.
Unfortunately,
Former Ally Costumer
Interest checking
I signed up with Ally Bank the beginning of 2021 and by July needed to reorder more checks. The order was placed, the new checks never came. I didn't call again until November 2021, and when I asked what happened to my order I got the runaround and no real answer. I was so frustrated and did not want to continue a crazy loop of why it wasn't ordered with no real answer. I had to stop and redirect the rep to just order them again. It is now December 5 and the 2nd order of checks have still not arrived. I just called and had a representative who was somewhat understanding and offered to expedite . It's a Sunday night - I spent 45 minutes on the phone for the 3rd time to order new checks. The representative was messaging back-and-forth with the team leaders, Jacob Jones and Richard Doty. The two of them further wasted 1/2 of my time arguing about 1 to 2 arrival days versus 3 to 4 days . You almost have to laugh at how ridiculous they are - no business would spend time arguing about somethings so obvious . None of them offered any type of apology. I have to say the rep did finally tell me she agreed with me - I know that there is nothing she can do without approval from Richard and Jacob. The two of them showed such a lack of professionalism (the thrill of a little power in their small corner of the world). They further pushed their sales rep to lie and say that the Ally policy insists on 3/4 days- it's just sad. Team leaders can make a decision to expedite. They were quite possibly trying to meet some demand quota or pressure from Ally Bank to meet a number rather than taking care of a customer by spending another 20 bucks for 1 to 2 days. Such poor lack of organization and decision making. The bank isn't worth your time.
One more thing, I was told by the rep I can fill out a dispute online. Guess what? There's nowhere online or on their website to do so. They got the last laugh I guess. Keep up the good work Jacob and Richard!
Desired outcome: Ally Bank Deposits 100 bucks into my account, which is well below the time I have spent with them on the phone to show that their customers are worth more than 20 bucks
No title release after numerous attempts
1. Called to customer service and was given a number to call that could help me obtain the title release.
2. Contact was made after being transferred a couple times and given numbers and address in a different state where I was told the document I needed would be held. I sent a letter and a copy of the death certificate to the address given.
3. The documents were sent in I believe July.
4. Mailed another letter and death certificate, 9/15/21, Contacted them by phone again after no response. This time I was transferred to several different dept heads and managers, left on hold for long periods of time, I became cranky and was hung up on. I've emailed to a financial email I located on line and have had no response. What to do?
Desired outcome: I want a title release so we can license the vehicle
Vehicle Payoff
I called Ally Financial and got a payoff amount of around $14k while in the Carmax lobby where I was selling my car. When Carmax called to confirm the payoff amount they were given an amount closer to $19k, well over $5k more. I called Ally Financial back and they told me if I paid it off it would be the $14k, but if Carmax purchased the vehicle it was to be the $19k.
I feel this should be illegal and at the very least it's extremely poor business practices.
Desired outcome: Have Ally Financial provide to me the difference I feel they stole from me.
Unethical behaviour in not processing claims in a timely manner/holding on to money.
Regarding Account No. [protected] - My father died with an open loan, which my brother and I kept paying. When Ally found out he died, they repossessed the car and sold it for more than what we would have paid under the lease, and issued a check to his 'Estate"for a little more than $1, 000 that we couldn't cash as he died without a will.
We did a DYI in NY for all paperwork needed and submitted to the"Death Claims Department"on August 30, 2021. Now, we've been given the run-around by Ally to re-issue the check after HOURS, HOURS and HOURS on the phone with representatives in Death Claims saying they have no record of the account - referred to"Customer Service"-"Consumer Resolutions" and anyone else they can think of without being given a real name, a real department head, or a time frame to expect this to be re-issued. A complete run-around so they can hold on to the money...
Desired outcome: Re-Issue The Check!!
Ally auto
I requested a pay extension on my 10/28/21 and 11/28/21 payments. I received the extension agreement letter dated 11/11/21. The extension agreement letter states: Beginning with the scheduled payment originally due 10/28/21 and all scheduled payments originally due on a monthly basis thereafter, all remaining scheduled payments have been extended by 2 months.
The extension agreement also states the minimum payment of $302.11 was due within 10 days of the date of the letter dated 11/11/2021, giving me until 11/21/21 to sign and pay the required amount stated above. On 11/19/21 I accepted the agreement online. The online record shows this was done. On 11/20/21 at 5:01 am CST I received an email stating that the agreement had expired. Well that could not be true as I had 10 days from the letter dated 11/11/2021. On the morning of 11/20/21 I paid online the amount of $303. Everything required was done within the 10 days of the date of the extension agreement letter dated 11/11/21.
In spite of timely signing and paying the required amount to cover the extension for 10/28/21 and 11/28/21 forward, I was charged a late charge of $25. I was told that this is for the 10/28/21 payment, in spite of the fact that the 10/28/21 payment is part of the extension agreement and states that AND attached to the agreement are Ally's frequently asked questions that state: "Will late charges apply to my account? No, we wont charge additional late fees during the extension period." This is a company that CANNOT follow its own direction.
Clearly Ally has customer service representatives that are not experienced in reading or handling contract language, as after 3 calls, no one understood anything, even after I asked that they read the contract because no one thought to go to the contract to see what it said. I guess they are trying to recoup from losses due to the pandemic. This is not the way Ally, this is not the way to do that. I was told by Daisy at customer service that she was connecting me with management, however I was on hold for 2 hours and 32 minutes before I hung up because no one ever picked up the line. I have a snapshot of the phone screen. Apparently they do this all the time, as there are other customers online who have written about dying on hold after an hour or more in their other frustrating experiences with this company. I have been sent so many offers to refinance away from Ally. I see now that I should take one of those offers. I don't like doing business with companies that are dishonest! I will tell everyone I know and work with RUN, RUN, RUN!
Desired outcome: rescind the late fee as it should have never been charged
Locked account
good evening Ally has locked the account for no apparent reason. im the durable power of attorney of a Gentleman which Ally has all legal documunts DL SSN both notarized signed and sealed letters both thru california and the one they request. EVERYTHING they have and wanted was giving. I went to transfer all assests to a local branch Bank that way they can see a Human Granpa is 82 and when you call in to Ally you cant help answer anything, so i proceeded to open a BOA account in both Names me of course as his POA and from one min to the next the account to Ally locked and processing for fraud.. I have called over 10 times to see how they came about the conclusion that it was fraud..they dont know the answer they have eveything they need but i still have to wait for some investigator to call..meanwhile no money nothing how the heck gives them the right to do what the did . and customer service is no help whats so ever..
Desired outcome: resolution soon and account unlock to close out the account and NEVER deal with Ally
Unethical behavior/ failure to release lien/no management support
I paid off vehicle in June 2021. I paid thru the Ally App until what I saw was the account final payment was made. Afterwards during the following months..."Silence" and no contact from ALLY. In September of 2021, I traded in vehicle to the dealer I purchased vehicle at and they were conducting normal business that a dealership would make to conduct trade in and ALLY refuses to release lien paperwork. They informed the dealership there is a flag, but there is no communication to me about a flag and my App profile says the account is closed.
The dealership is prepared to pay any possible fee's in the event ALLY is trying to rip me off. We are trying to close this transaction out for over 30 days. I urgently need assistance. Please contact [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: Please send lien release form to Antwerpen Crysler-Jeep, Dodge, Hyundai.
