I originally booked flights to Dubai from Newcastle on Thursday 25th April - Thursday 2nd May 2024. Upon reading this I realised two days later I had the wrong date by a month. I was supposed to fly Thursday 28th March and return Thursday 4th April 2024, as it was a genuine mistake I tried to change the flight and I was being charged an extra £647 on top of a £627 flight. I simply can’t afford this so asked to cancel to which on top of a £627 flight I now have to pay £591 to cancel. Again which I physically cannot afford. This has put me in a bad state of mental health therefore contemplating life because I simply cannot afford these added extra charges over something I won’t even be attending on top of my own daily bills in a never ending inflation economy, the visit was to see a very close family member who I won’t see for a long time it wasn’t a holiday. In total I either have to pay £1218 or £1274 to either go on the flight or cancel. I am aware of your policies but this is absolutely sickening. Emirates policy direct wouldn’t charge this month. This has put me in a bad state of mental and I need better options than this as I physically cannot afford.
