The cancellation policy that is offered and sold with their tickets
I had a very bad experience with Alternative Airlines last year, due to them not assisting me with a delayed flight due to weather. Emirates Airlines advised me that all they needed was a call from them, as they were the ticketing agency that I purchased my ticket thru. They would not respond to phone calls or emails, which placed me in the position of having to purchase a one-way ticket to Dubai, so I could reach there and join the group I was traveling with. I was in Dubai for 9 days and reached out to them every day with phone calls and emails, to no avail. The night before we were scheduled to leave, Emirates Airlines advised me that they still had not received anything from Alternative Airlines and even had tried to reach out to them on my behalf, as they knew I was going to need to return to the U.S. I ended up having to purchase another one-way ticket to get back.
Since that time, I have tried to contact Alternative Airlines to no avail. The cancelation protection policy I purchased was not honored and they will leave emails from time to time, saying they tried to call me, but no one answered (this is not true either).
I have finally located a legal service in the U.K. who is looking to assist me in filing a civil complaint against Alternative Airlines. Once, I find out how this works, I will be glad to share with any others who may have had a problem. I will not let them get away with this at all and intend to spread this unfortunate situation everyone I can.
Desired outcome: I just want the money I paid for my initial RT ticket back. That is all I ever asked for.

Refund
Booking Ref. number is QFGSCE on Japan Airlines, Business Class, Bangkok to San Francisco, JL-708. I flew from Bangkok on April 24, 2022. Japan Airline cancelled the second leg of my flight to San Francisco 4 days before I was to depart Bangkok. I was automatically given a different flight by Japan Airlines computer system that was to leave 15 minutes after I arrived in Narita airport. The flight I was given was leaving out of Haneda airport (Impossible to do). Alternative Airlines did not catch the mistake when they sent me their e-mail notifying me of the cancellation. I told them of the mistake. The only flight that was given to me by Alternative Airlines that was acceptable was to Los Angeles (JL-062) with an 11 hour layover and then an American Airlines flight ( JL-7554/ American AA6243) to San Francisco.
My return flight on August 7, 2022 from San Francisco, JL-001, was cancelled by Japan Airlines 3 weeks before I was to depart. Alternative Airlines notified me that the only option I had with business class that would leave the same was JL-057 to Haneda Airport with a 30 hour layover. Total flight time and layover would be about 51-52 hours. I asked them to contact Japan Airlines to request for a hotel room and transportation from and to the airport. Alternative Airlines said I had to contact Japan Airlines for that request. I tried to call Japan Airlines and was on hold for 40 minutes and gave up out of frustration from the whole ordeal of this trip. Being that it was a Business Class ticket, Alternative Airlines said I had the option of cancelling the flight and ask for a refund, which I did on July 16, 2022. Alternative Airlines notified me that it could take 8-10 weeks before I would see any refund. It is now working on 13 weeks.
On September 5, 2022, I spoke with Japan Airlines and they said I was eligible for a full refund on the return portion of my cancelled flight. Japan Airlines asked me to notify Alternative Airlines to call Japan Airlines and request for a Waiver Number and Japan Airlines would instruct Alternative Airlines on how to proceed. I immediately sent an e-mail to Alternative Airline Customer Support with all the required information. I also gave them the phone number to Japan Airlines and the name of the person I spoke with. I did not get a response. Then on about October 13, 2022, I spoke with the same person at Japan Airlines and he told me that the refund money was sent to Alternative Airlines. I then sent an e-mail to Alternative Airlines and asked for an update. They responded within the same day and said they have not heard from Japan Airlines and I would be notified immediately after they hear from Japan Airlines. On October 19, 2022, I spoke with a different person at Japan Airlines and he confirmed that the money was sent to Alternative Airlines. I immediately sent an e-mail to Alternative Airlines stating what was told to me by Japan Airlines. It is now October 22, 2022 and no response fro Alternative Airlines. They can send me a same day response when I asked for an update but nothing when I tell them they should have the money sent from Japan Airlines. I have tried to call Alternative Airlines phone number numerous times and all I get is "number not available".

Unable to use credit voucher
In May 2022 I had to cancel my flights booked through Alternative Airlines and I have received airline credit with them. I now believe they are trading unfairly.
Prior to cancelling my flights, it took days for the agency to try and change my flight dates. The agency would only accept changes via email or phone (Which cost a lot to call), and would take more than 24 hours to respond at times. The agency would tell me flights were now too expensive or unavailable, even though flights were clearly listed available on their website within my budget, as well as on the Air France airline website. The issue resulted in me having to manually go onto their website and book the flights I had originally requested, paying over £600 again and not being able to use the credit voucher.
It is now August and I have just attempted again to use the credit to book new flights with the agency. I clearly gave the agency my preferred flight dates and flight numbers, I even gave them a 15 day window for my return flight, and again they have told me there are no return flights are available. Once again, there are flights clearly listed on their website and on Air France's website. There's probably more than 20 flights listed available that the agency could book, but I believe they are being deceptive and are using this as a ploy to make me spend more of my own money by booking the flights myself. I have contacted Air France and they told me that only Alternative Airlines can help.
I believe this company is trading unfairly and I have made complaints to my bank and ATOL. Beware!

Fraud
Booked Jun8th for a one way ticket for 2 to ST THOMAS, out of Chicago, 935452 Purchased the refund protection, and my son just found out he has to relocate for his job, So I tried to submit for the refund and couldnt get the website to work as it keeps saying i did not submit the correct currency. And I have the required documentation for the refund. Disputed the charge with Pay pal as there has been no resolution and Alternative Airlines then trys to tell me that they cant try to help me as long as there is a chargeback with pay pal, and that I need to cancel the claim. But Alternative Airlines wont tell me if I will get a refund. However Pay Pal states that if I cancel the claim then I can never open another one for this transaction. I tell Alternative Airlines this and their response is that If I needed to I could make up another reason and reopen it. So they are trying to tell me to lie... When I responded to the email and said so you would want me to lie now they wont respond. They are also requesting my personal banking information which I did not pay with but paid for with Pay Pal, I dont trust them with my banking information just make the refund back to my pay pal account. Cancellation protection for covid-19

My husband and I were infected with COVID-19 and wrote alternative airlines for refund on the 2 air tickets from DEN to HKG on 22/08/2022 with invoice no.PW2FKS.
After providing letter of isolation letters from the Department of Health and Enviorment of Denver for covid-19 infection tested on 22/07/2022 and invoice showing my purchase of cancellation protection, alternative airlines refused to proceed with the refund with refund case number 147F954F. I considered what they have pledged for cancellation and protection does not match what they have been providing.
Besides, the custome services has been slow in responding to email or message left. We write to file a complaint about the services and hope the customeer services of alternative airline proceed with the refund properly and fulfill what they have pledged for customer cancellation and protection.

Deceptive & Misleading Booking Confirmation
I have complaint on Alternative Airlines based on the fact that their Booking Confirmation is deceptive Dr and misleading. It does not disclose actual information such as the actual airport name. It shows “San Jose Airports” instead of the actual airport name so I thought my San Jose flight was correct. How could I have disputed when I saw it was correct according to the booking confirmation. I thought I was all set! On October 25, 2021, I booked flight through Alternative Airlines for $902.00. Attached is the Booking Confirmation I received from Alternative Airlines showing that I’d booked an American Airlines flight from San Jose to Pittsburg. I thought booking was all set until later on December 13, 2021, when trying to pay for luggage, select seat, etc., I was rudely awaken to see that the departure flight was from San Jose Costa Rica instead of San Jose California! I had clearly booked “Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport”. I know this airport well and often book flights for my Son to visit home from school at San Jose State. At that time, regardless of time of day, their phone number [protected]) was called, I received message that it was not taking calls. I sent the email compliant about the incorrect airport and requested to rebook immediately from Norman Y. Mineta airport, San Jose CA. Their email responses continued to be, after several emails were exchanged, was an apology and that my request will not be honored because I did not cancel within their cancellation period but that I could rebook applying the amount I’d already paid but at almost triple the amount of $902.00 or it would be forfeited. I had no choice but to forfeit. I also called American Airlines and the flight was definitely booked but there was nothing they could do to refund or rebook and request must be submitted by Alternative but would be more than happy to cancel flight and refund cost to Alternative Airlines brcause their cancel policy was flexible and extended due to Covid. So I got swindled out of $902. I wonder how many people they have deceived with their deceptive booking confirmation practice or if they’ve even changed the confirmation page!

Airline tickets that were canceled 10 hours after booking
I have been charged for flights that I canceled ten hours after booking. I have called and emailed and they keep lying saying someone will get back to me. No one has. It's been over 30 days. My booking number was 924907. I have called Klarna and reported the fraud however I refuse to stop until they fully reimburse me! These flights cost close to $2000.00.

I booked a flight from Austin to NYC, JFK round trip. The flight time for the trip was not the one I had chosen (depart 6:39 pm) The system assigned me 11:30 am. I could not do this time because I had to drop off and pick up my son from school. I tried to call and email with no response except rude, we cannot do anything message. I ended up paying Delta airlines 200.98 to change. I want that money reimbursed. The queue at Lost Luggage in both terminals in Rome were too long to wait and report the loss on the day, or we would have missed our cruise.
Because the journey was split between 2 flight providers, I have been unable to REPORT LOST LUGGAGE online. to KLM, nor have I been able to register it on Italea Aereo.
I have tried to telephone KLM multiple times, and been "disconnected, as queue over 45 minutes". -
I have also tried from June 19 on, to report the loss to KLM on Facebook Messenger, on WhatsApp and on Instagram, but I get caught in a loop referring me to report it through "Lost Baggage" on-line - or held in an endless wait-line to speak to an agent.
On our return journey, on Saturday 2 July 2022, Ground Force in Barcelona Arrivals Hall told me that they could not help me, and that I must report the loss on-line – which of course I have been unable to do, as explained above. -
I don't need you to take responsibility, as I expect the case was lost during transfer in Amsterdam from KLM's KL1276 to Italian Air AZ0107. I just need someone to register the loss and search for it. -

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been trying to get in touch with this company to sort out my refund for a canceled trip. I have contacted alternative airline as well as Refund Protect. My partner and I have a court summons and cannot go on our trip to Switzerland. Court summons are clearly covered in the contract. So it is frustrating and confusing as to why I can not be reimbursed when I bought cancelation insurance to cover anything that might come up. Not only is no one from this company getting back to me. But I was not even given a reason as to why my claim has been denied. I think vacations are a luxury for most of us and I know like most of the people out there I work very hard for my money. So to be out $3,000 when I took the proper precautions to make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot is infuriating. I don't feel that I have any options at this point besides getting my lawyer involved. If this company isn't a scam or fraudulent in some way, then they should just be ashamed of themselves for whatever their definition of customer service is. I am appalled at how comfortable they clearly are with taking advantage of and stealing from people. Shameful.

I booked a flight thru alternative airlines and uplift for payment. My payment was successfully processed, received the monthly payments offerings and loan documents. I then receive an email the next morning that my flight was cancelled and they cannot offer the flights because they are in the US. Then why do you have them as an offering and work with uplift if you are going to cancel my flights? Now I am stuck with a loan, made a down payment and need everything to be reimbursed and still need to re-book and spend more money while I am waiting on the refund

Refund not received
I booked a flight LDN - Cancun, last year in June. I used my Paypal account to purchase this flight. Because of covid, my flight was cancelled and I was promised a refund in 4 weeks. It's been a year now.
I even filed a report on Paypal. I received an e-mail from Alternative airlines, please see the attachment, saying that they would advise cancelling the dispute. Of course, my naive mind was like - yes, let's cancel the dispute to stop any further delay. That was last year in November. Little did I know, after cancelling the dispute I can't report it again! I feel they have trapped me and I can't do anything to receive my money!
A year later and my refund is still not in my bank account. I have e-mailed so many times, I'm devastated!

I purchased a ticket in alternative airlines, but they did not pay it to the airline, until now the ticket is not confirmed thats why I cannot manage my booking. Cancelled Flight due to COVID, Price Doubled for New Ticket
I am requesting a refund. This company appears to be taking advantage of COVID complications to make an extra profit off of consumers. If you book with Alternative Airlines, your credit is worth nothing, as the new ticket price can be double what you originally paid.
I booked a flight to Ankara in Turkey from Cincinnati from January 24th-February 4th. I unfortunately had to cancel my flight for COVID related reasons. Alternative Airlines refused to refund me, but said they would provide me a credit. I said that was fine, as I would still have to take the trip soon.
When I tried to re-book a flight, they tried to charge me double the price of the original ticket and refused to check more than one date at a time, so that each time they checked a date for me, the price continued to go up. It is an absolute scam and they are taking advantage of COVID complications to make a profit on people. I looked on the website and there were tickets for a flight to Ankara available at or around the price of my original ticket, but Alternative Airlines wouldn't provide me those rates- doubling my price instead.
So how is that fair? That I could buy a new ticket, with Alternative Airlines, for the price of my first ticket, but I can't use the credit for my first ticket to obtain the price listed on your website. Paying a little extra is reasonable. Paying half and again the price of the old ticket is less than desirable, but still possible to accommodate. Doubling the price of the original ticket and refusing to issue a refund when someone didn't even take the flight is just preying on consumers- especially when it is possible to purchase a new ticket through alternative airlines for roughly the price of the first ticket.
If Alternative Airlines charges the price of the new ticket on top of the credit, then that means there is no credit, and that's inconsistent with what's being promised to consumers. If it's not deliberately misleading, then it certainly appears to be.
I went ahead and bought a new ticket with a different company, because paying the price of a new ticket was cheaper than using my credit with Alternative Airlines. This has caused me financial hardship and so much stress I don't even know where to begin. It is not fair that someone should have to pay for a ticket twice if they are supposedly receiving a credit.
I can provide a copy of the replacement ticket I purchased from a different company as well. I am attaching photos of the e-ticket since I cannot attach PDFs of it here.

This happened to me but not during covid. I had to cancel my flights last minute and when I tried to rebook, they'd tell me the flights had doubled in price or were sold out, yet the flights were clearly available on their website and were listed at the same price! I am having the same issue purchased the refund protection trip insurance and tried to submit my documentation and it wouldnt upload, Contact via email and they are telling to stop the claim with Pay pal and then they can try to refund me, However Paypal if you cancel claim you cant file a claim against that again. So Alternative airlines tells me to cancel and then if i need to open another claim to lie about the reason for the claim, This is a fraud company, I paid through Pay Pal you do not need my personal banking information! $1000 lesson learned. I will see what the dispute with Pay Pal accomplishes. Wish me luck!
I had the exact same thing happen paid for flight protection, had to cancel due to covid with documentation, could not get incontact with noone, i cancelled with my bank and as of yesterday the bank took back the claim said it was invalid so this has already cost me 2300 for a flight i did not take. I need this money back this is not acceptable and will follow further prosecution
