Due to the unprecedented back-to-back hurricanes in Florida, we had to cancel our trip to the State. When purchasing the policy, it appeared based on a layman understanding that if we cancelled the policy15 days prior to the trip start date that the premium would be refunded. It is clear after speaking with AIG that is not the case. This carefully crafted policy that insures practically nothing, is worthless and this company should be fined for offering a policy that they will not cancel even if the State of Florida is under high alert and residents have been ordered to evacuate.
The Complaints Board should take a class action to fight AIG's ability to sell policies that claims are more likely to be declined than approved.
This is the worse travel protection that we have even purchased and we will never do business with this company again. We are also warning all of our friends to by-pass this worthless insurance.
Claimed loss: $28.10
Desired outcome: Refund of premium since AIG was not harmed.
