The guy from this company reached out to us
The guy from this company reached out to us. We got a quote. They said they'd fix the roof for the amount the insurance paid plus our deductible. But then they called us to cancel the deal without a clear reason. They gave us our check back. Their way of doing business is kinda sketchy.
Horrible
Horrible. Dealt with a guy named Chase Whited and his customer service is terrible. Won't answer calls, texts, etc. I emailed the company and suddenly they don't want to do business with you anymore when all you wanted was to give them your insurance company info. They did the same thing to my neighbors too. Don't use this company, they'll leave you hanging.
American Roofing Company was great to work with on my new roof
American Roofing Company was great to work with on my new roof. They made a lot of promises that I thought they couldn't fulfill, but they kept their word and went beyond what they said they were gonna do. The team showed up on time, they worked long and hard in the cold, and got the job done in the day. They had everything covered and then clean up was great. I found less than a dozen nails in the yard as they worked hard to find them all, including using a roller magnet. I will recommend this company to anyone in need of their services.
American Roofing Company Complaints 9
American Roofing Company, LLC gave me a contract price for my roof on December 31
American Roofing Company, LLC gave me a contract price for my roof on December 31. They have put the wrong roofing on, wrong color, left bubbles under the roofing, and did not install it correctly. They will not do anything about it. I am an elderly lady and they have taken advantage of me. I need someone to help me. My insurance company came out and took pictures of the issues. American Roofing told me to let them do the work and I would not have to pay any money because it was an insurance job. The insurance company cannot help because I chose the contractor. My insurance agent is helping to file the complaint and do what he can to notify the appropriate authorities. Thank you.
This company is an insurance fraud specialist
This company is an insurance fraud specialist. They told me I'd be responsible for the deductible and add-ons, which was $1640. Once the roof was completed, they said that insurance wasn't going to cover the total because a mistake was made by the adjuster, so now I owe $3440 out of pocket. Nowhere near the price promised, and I was never consulted or informed that I would owe so much more before the work was done. I even asked the company rep if I'd be responsible for more since the adjuster made a mistake and was told no, that I'd only owe the original $1640. They will do whatever to make the sale, then charge you for the full amount. They also have the cheapest subcontractor Latino crews do the work. Avoid this company at all cost, they are as shady as they come with no business ethics. I want this company to uphold its original agreement of deductible plus add-ons.
I hired this company and they gave me a quote on 12/15 for a new roof
I hired this company and they gave me a quote on 12/15 for a new roof. The quote was $7,724.00. But then they went back to my insurance company to get more money. They came back to me with a new quote of $11,771.46 for the same job. I gave them all the insurance money, which was $8,988.53.
When the new sales man came, he said my first quote wasn't valid anymore. He told me he fired the other guy because he was making the customers happy. The other guy even gave me a discount of $1,000.00. I don't understand how my quote went up $5,000 for the same job.
Now they want me to pay an additional $3,425.00 or they will put a lien on my house. It seems like insurance fraud to me when they went back to my insurance and added things they never did. I would like my bill adjusted, even if it's just for the $1,000 discount that I got from the first sales man who got fired. They need to honor that discount.
Their sales practices are unethical and should be reported as insurance fraud.

I got a price, but it ended up costing $962 more than we agreed
I got a price, but it ended up costing $962 more than we agreed. Plus, my house got damaged! I reached out to American Roofing Company in November for a FREE estimate. After they finished checking everything, the company rep made me sign a paper saying the inspection was only free if they did the job. I didn't hear from them for three months, and I didn't call another roofing company because I had already signed an agreement. Finally, in February , I called them to see what was going on. I told them that if they couldn't do it for the original price, we could wait until I saved up more money. The salesperson said they would cover the extra costs and pushed me to sign. In April, they finally came to do the roof. If there was an increase in materials, it was their fault for the delay. The corporate office said they would adjust the invoice to the original price. I think it's fair to adjust the original agreed price plus the $263 my insurance company paid. I have a video showing rain coming inside to back up my claim. #
First roof install on 7/14/22, paid half upfront, $1850
First roof install on 7/14/22, paid half upfront, $1850. They cut vents, no osb, just shingles. Second attempt on 9/22/22, no starter strip for shingles, overhang too long, no ice shield, used felt nail caps for drip edge. Called many people, even corporate, no help. Shingle manufacturer said no warranty due to bad install. Talked to boss, owner was supposed to call, but got text from someone else saying owner won't replace, just patch. Attorney will send to collections for remaining $1850. First crew damaged fascia, got estimate of $980, no action taken.
I hired American Roofing to replace my roof in Dec 2017 for about $18,000
I hired American Roofing to replace my roof in Dec 2017 for about $18,000. Since then, I've had leaks that just won't quit. I've called them so many times, and they've sent people to fix it, but it never seems to get done right. It's like they don't know how to do the job properly. When they do come, they just bring some caulk and try to patch up the mess they made. But come on, a new roof should be done right the first time. And to make matters worse, they didn't even install the cricket at the chimney like they were supposed to. Water keeps coming in and ruining my house. Every time I mention it, they either ignore me or say I don't need a cricket. It's frustrating. Because of their sloppy work, I've had to tear down walls and ceilings in multiple rooms. It's been years now, and I can't even finish my renovations because of this never-ending problem.
On March 19, I signed a contract with American Roofing Company for a roof fixin'
On March 19, I signed a contract with American Roofing Company for a roof fixin'. They finally got around to doin' the repair on May 28. Before signin' the contract, the sales guy asked if there was any other stuff he needed to cover. I mentioned that a part of my gutter was slopin' forward and away from the house, 'bout 8 feet long. The guy said they could fix it while doin' the roof repair. So, when they finished the job on May 28, I checked the gutter and saw they made a small adjustment to fix the problem I mentioned. But guess what? The gutter was still slopin' away from the fascia and the side of the house. I called their corporate office on [protected] on 06/17 and 06/24 to let 'em know 'bout the issue. I left messages for some dude named Justin, but he never bothered callin' me back. Today, on 06/29, I called again and told the receptionist that Justin was ignorin' my calls. She said she talked to a manager (didn't give me no name) and told me that American Roofing ain't in the gutter repair business. She said I should contact a gutter repair company instead. They claimed that any fix they did to the gutter was just a favor and not part of the contract. But hold up! The sales guy told me they would fix the gutter before I signed the contract. So, it seems like the company ain't keepin' their word. I don't know if this is some kinda bait and switch situation or what. Another homeowner referred me to this company, but now I'm not so sure 'bout 'em.
American Roofing told me to use my driveway and lawn instead of my neighbor's to deliver supplies
American Roofing told me to use my driveway and lawn instead of my neighbor's to deliver supplies. On Thursday 4/30, I was home doing chores and resting from a headache when my dog suddenly barked loudly and I heard a very loud noise in front of my house. I went outside and was shocked to see that the driver had torn up my undamaged front lawn with their heavy equipment, carrying heavy building materials over to my neighbor's house. They decided not to use my neighbor's driveway or lawn and instead trespassed on my property. Their equipment got stuck in my lawn because it was wet, sinking deep into my yard and possibly damaging my sprinkler system. I was furious and asked them why they were tearing up my lawn when the job was at my neighbor's house. The driver of the heavy equipment simply said that American Roofing told him to use my lawn and that they would pay for any damage caused. I was livid and called the police to handle the situation. American Roofing contractor, Tim, assured me that they would take care of the damage and pay for it. I asked my landscaper to estimate the damage so that American Roofing or J would have to compensate me before leaving. I also called my neighbor, who then called Chase from American Roofing to meet at my house. My neighbors were shocked to see that they had torn up my lawn and used my yard to deliver building materials when it was their house that they were working on. Chase assured us that it would be taken care of and not to worry. I also pointed out that they had dumped their garbage, roofing materials, and debris that they had removed from the roof onto my yard. Chase promised that they would remove them first thing in the morning. On Friday 5/1, I went out to get the contractor's name, Tim, who told me that American Roofing would pay for the damage to my lawn. I then called Chase and informed him that I had spoken to , who said that he had instructed the driver and that American Roofing, *** would be responsible for the damage. However, Chase immediately denied any responsibility and claimed that American Roofing had not given any instructions or agreed to pay for any damage caused during the delivery. He said that he would have to speak to his boss, Mr., and come to see me in person to discuss the situation. However, Chase never showed up and when I asked Mr. Tim about it, he told me that it was Chase who had instructed the driver to use my yard and that American Roofing would pay for any damage caused. I was shocked that Chase had lied to me about not knowing what had happened when he was the one instructing the driver. I have never encountered people like Chase, who is working on my neighbor's roof, telling someone else to use my lawn and driveway without informing me or obtaining my permission to deliver building materials to my neighbor. Even the police officers were baffled by this incident when they found out that the materials were not being delivered to my address but to my neighbor's. They had to drive to the right to reach my driveway and then drive across my entire front lawn to reach my neighbor's house. The damage has been assessed at $1000.00 and the police report complaint number is . I just want them to pay for the damage and for both parties to consider why they would damage and litter someone else's property when working on another project. The driver clearly did not think.
On July 14, I hired American Roofing to redo my roof and replace any damaged decking
On July 14, I hired American Roofing to redo my roof and replace any damaged decking. I got their best roofing and underlayment, ridge vent/drip edge for a total of $5569.65. I paid half upfront, $2784.50. I told the salesperson *** beforehand that I wanted any bad or damaged plywood replaced. On September 1, the subcontractor started the job. They told the American Roofing supervisor that they needed 5 pieces of plywood, which they picked up. After the job was done, Seth came by and took pictures since I was on vacation. When I got back, I went on the roof with the guttering people and saw a mess. The downspouts were full of nails and wood, and the guttering was pulled away from the facia, causing bent guttering. There were also soft spots that were not replaced, as well as sunken spots. Additionally, there was Black Jack roofing tar on the shingles in several places. The guttering repairman said this was a really bad roofing job. Apart from the roof and guttering, the dumpster driver got stuck in the yard and caused a lot of damage. They didn't bother to communicate or make an effort to fix it. On September 1, I called Megan at American Roofing in *** and told her about all the problems. She said she would send an inspector. The inspector arrived on September 23, and found multiple soft spots, uneven areas, tar on shingles, and bent guttering. The damage was significant enough that they didn't need to go into the attic. On September 30, Seth came out and went into the attic. He found broken plywood and requested replacement. On November 6, the subcontractor supervisor, Erwin, came and inspected the outside. He found the same problems and said my insurance company might pay for the entire home decking. I told him we only wanted what they didn't fix the first time. He also asked who marked all the spots on the roof, and I told him the guttering people helped me mark the soft spots and sunken areas. He left at that point. On November 18, Mike, a supervisor at American Roofing, called, but I missed his call. On November 19, I called him back multiple times and finally connected with him on the 27th, but he hung up. On December 1, Seth called and said Jimmy or Justin wanted to give us a 10-year warranty. I said I wanted a qualified/certified roof inspection so that I wouldn't have to go through this process again in a year or two. A satisfactory inspection is the least I expect to know exactly what needs to be replaced/repaired. Once the inspection and necessary repairs/replacements are done, I will gladly pay the rest of the bill. On December 14, American Roofing sent a statement for the remaining balance of $3170.00, saying it's the final notice, but it's the first and only statement we received. On December 15, I called Courtney at the *** office, and she said someone from the Chattanooga office would call. On December 17, Justin, a supervisor in the *** office, called and said he would come out on Monday, December 21, but he didn't show up or call. I want this issue resolved and to get what I paid for. I received a phone call, but as of January 28, there has been no action in the last 4 weeks. As a result, my wife and I are looking for other companies to fix the work, at least to the required quality. We believe that your failure to complete the work as agreed puts you in default, breaching our original agreement. Therefore, considering the costs we may incur, we consider any remaining balance to be paid in full, and we owe you nothing more. (As mentioned, we did pay $2786.50 before the work started.) We sincerely regret having to take this action, but your failure to even sign for the certified letter we sent in December forces us to proceed to get the job done satisfactorily.
