Americredit are ### thieves they lied about my payment then sent someone to repossess my car when I had been payed up according to their rep that I spoke to. then when I had my attorney contact them about having filed for bankruptcy they immediately hired a lawyer to file against me to get the car back so they could sell it instead of receiving my small monthly payment.

I AM STARTING A CLASS ACTION SUIT AS OF 3-20-09 SO PLEASE CONTACT ME THROUGH THIS SITE SO I CAN GET YOUR INFO TO MY ATTORNEY TO PROCEED IN THIS WITH THIS WITH ME. THEY ARE THIEVES AND I WILL TAKE THEM DOWN! MY ATTORNEY FEELS THIS IS A VERY STRONG CASE AS HE HAS READ A LOT OF THE STATEMENTS ON THIS SITE AND WANTS TO MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE COWARDNESS ACTS THEY HAVE COMMITTED AGAINST GOOD PEOPLE.

Please contact me...I wanting to start a class action as well. Our story, very similar...plus, hundreds of stories from others that I have been researching. I also discovered that Americredit has been involved with Securities Fraud in 2003 and had a complaint filed against them from SEC in 2002 (http://www.sec.gov/litigation/complaints/comp18442.htm) - so it seems that they are no stranger to misappropriating numbers. I look forward to hearing from you.

I would also be interested in joining your class action suit. They repossessed my vehicle when I only had 3 payments left (yes I was late). Then they added 9 more payments and noone can seem to figure that one out and now they sold my account to a local attorney who doubled the amount owed. I would be most interested. I have an attorney representing me for the civil court case.

I am also having similar problems with them after filing. There has been no contact by them, although my attorney has made contact. Now today at 6pm they send a man to my door to repo my truck. Thank goodness he was extremely nice, we told him we filed and he stated he would not take it until he spoke with our attorney, he stated Americredit has gotten their company in trouble on several occassions. Please contact me I will gladly join a class action with you. Thank you...sarrie10@yahoo.com

I bought my car in Dec. 2003. I have been making payments yet ...6 years later...the price keeps going up. The payoff this week was quoted over 4000. Feb it was 7000 and I payed over 2500 plus the payments since.

They came and took my car one time already...tried another time and even after payments were made. They put over 300 miles on my car when they took it. When I got it back it was covered with Mud and has never run the same.

I feel like I am never going to get away from these people.

Please contact me. I need help. I honestly feel I have paid double for my car.

Thank you.

I am currently in trouble with Americredit. I bought a sorento in 2007 which is finance by Americredit. The years 2008 went well.
2009 was a tougher year for because of a of a civil law suit my income was tied up in lawyer fees. When I could not make the payment I communictaed with Americredit and made the payment later.
At this point I thought that they were great. However recently when I made a payment arrangement with them for 01/29/2010, I told them that I plan to pay off my principle by June 2010.
After that conversation and before the 01/29/2010, thye repoed my vehicle. I have gotten my vehicle re-instated by paying more that I was suppose to pay when I made the arrangement.
Today I check the phone and they called me again.
It seemed that they don't want me to pay off the principle before the 5 years.
The mistake which I made is that, I told them that I was going to pay off the principle before the 5yrs and now they are trying to find any reason to repoe my vehicle.
I am scared because, the truth is that I will get the money by June and I really do not want to lose out all my money to these theives.

I completely agree! I had my car repossesed in October of 2009, after I had made a $2200 payment to clear everything! Americredit, did not inform the repo company and in turn I lost my job and has to pay an additional $600 in fees, plus all of the hassel because of this repo. Now, b/c I lost my job from the repo I fell behind again. I contacted Americredit through e-mail, because they are so vicious and relentless over the phone, and asked how they could work with me to make my account right. They said they would only accept a surrender of the car. They continued to harass my family and friends. The repo company made threats to my mother. They harass my father several times a day... etc... My mom informed Americredit that she would now be taping all of their conversations and Amercredit has stopped calling. My father on the other hand was trying to help. Americredit, in there quest to find out where my car is and get it back, claims that they have reported my car stolen, and is still out for reposession, I am only 100 days passed due, so its not the end of the world, I am working again (which they now about, just not where and have made payments with extra to try and catch up. My father spoke with Americredit and they agree, and promised that if I called in they: 1. would not be able to get my number if I called in with it blocked . LIE! 2. If I made a payment of $600 they would cancel the repo, and clear the police report so that I could work with out worry and catch up. LIE LIE! I made a payment offered to set up two more for a total of $1000.
Americredit said that wasn't enough and they had never agreed to anything other then me surrendering the car. THEY LIE! and now, becuase I called they have my # again, and continute to harass my voicemail several times a day. Threating legal issues, jail time, and that I "need to do the right thing and surrender the car" "we can work things out if you just give us the location of the unit." HORSE ###!

Americredit has NEVER tried to work with me! So Iplan on surrendering the car next week. But if there is a lawsuit I want in! Clients have rights and Americredit has vilated everyone of them!

I am interested in joining your complaint. I just bought my vehicle on 3/24/10. First of all, I was totally ripped off and the morning after the purchase I went back in to discuss my concerns with the dealer. The dealer then informs me that the bank decided the value of my vehicle, which was at least $7, 000 over the actual cost of the vehicle. My interest rate is at 18.95% and it is incurred on a day to day basis. I am a student and I single mother. The vehicle I traded in was costing me a large amount of money. My transmission was going out and I needed to get back in forth to work and class. I regret my purchase now and I hope that I haven't gotten myself into a bigger mess. I tried to call the bank number listed on the bottom of my Retail Installment Contract and Security Agreement and it didn't even work. I believe that the dealerships and these sub prime banks are performing predatory lending practices equivalent to those that have occurred in the mortgage industry. There is no integrity in these practices. I hope that your lawsuit hasn't been settled because I need help.

I know we are in with this as well. I cannot believe how these companies rip people off! After almost 5 years of owning the same vehicle and sometimes making double payments, the principal payoff amount NEVER went down! Then they repo'd our car when we demanded a payment schedule of proof since day 1. We are now trying to get that and Drivetime off my husband's credit report as they fraudulently reported incorrect information to the credit bureaus. When we sent a certified letter to the address listed on our credit report-it was returned as being UNDELIVERABLE!

I am interested in joining your complaint. I just bought my vehicle on 3/1/2004. I paid all 72 payments. During the life of the loan I did fall behind do to bouts of unemployment. However, the loan expired and they just repoed my car. They are telling me that I owe interest and late fees and they want the lump sum of $6500.oo or they are going to sell my car. I am tired of these finance companies taking advantage of innocent people who are trying the best to keep up with their obligations. I calcuated that over the life of the loan they have collected $30K. They refuse to negotiate the $6500.00 false balance they say I owe. Is there any help out there?

wow sounds like an employee is on here to defend the company they work for! Do you troll the blog to make comments that are mean to these people. I understand the trouble that your customers have with Americredit (not you personally) but unlike most people I have taped the last two conversations with your company so that if any of these things happen to me after pay off it will can be heard, the fair collections and debt act also states that conversing with these customers in this manner can get your company sued and all that has to happen is a discovery order be put in place to have your IP address traced to find out who you are. Now with that I also have a beef with your company, I took it to the attorney general and he is contacting the credit bureaus that Americredit sent false information to, if you all are so smart learn how to report correct credit reports.

These people are the worst kind of white collar crime in the country today.
I bought a car in 2006 and it was the worst decision I ever made. But I really didn't make it. It was all done for me by the dealer who put me deeper in the hole with the great car and deal I traded in. Americredit got me fired from TWO JOBS one that paid me over $75, 000/year by harassing my employers.
Americredit violated every known legality of debt collection I've ever known.
Now they are owned by GMAC and GM should have to re-write every loan made under the criminal brand "Americredit. They shouldn't even be allowed to have part of America in their name. I have now had my car for 3 years, I told them to come and pick it up for over a year and they haven't done it. Now suddenly they want to pick it up and sell it to recover the loan money. Problem is I have paid for the car already to the tune of over 20K! They say I still owe 26K for a car that had the sticker price of 16K! So by not coming to pick up the car when I told them to, it's over a year older and worth much less on the auction market they will ultimately sell it on. It's absolutely insane! They will recover at most 5-8K, then try to bill me for 26K! They are crooks and more crooked than most organized crime - count me in ANY CLASS ACTION SUIT PLEASE. Just today one of about 10 different collectors they have assigned my account to over a year period started harassing me, this is getting rediculous. They are the most disorganized and corrupt companies in the lending market today.

WE HAD PURCHASE A FORD EDGE 2007, I WAS MAKING PAYMENTS AND YES SOME WERE LATE. THEN I HAD RESIGNED FROM MY JOB SO I MADE SOME ARRANGEMENTS TO MAKE PAYMENTS. BUT SOMETHING CAME UP AND MONEY HAD TO BE USED ANYWAY, I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS GOING TO RECEIVE SOME MONEY AND I WOULD SEND THEM AT LEAST 1500 SO I CAN PROBABLY KEEP MY CAR, AND THEY SAID NO! SO I FELT THERE WAS NO CHOICE AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT, I JUST GOT SO FRUSTRATED AND DID A VOLUNTARY REPO AND MY CAR WAS PICKED UP. THEY COULD'VE WAITED AT LEAST A COUPLE OF MORE DAYS, BUT NO! NOW THEY WANT LIKE 10, 000 OR SO BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SOLD AT A PRIVATE AUCTION AND THAT MONEY IS THEIRS, BUT WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY AND NOT THE CAR AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY THAT WAS GIVEN TO THEM FOR THE PAYMENTS THAT WERE MADE. SO NOW, THEY WANT US TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR A VEHICLE WE NO LONGER, REPORT TO CREDIT BUREAU AND TAKE LEGAL ACTION. I MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN THIS CLASS ACTION SUIT. THANKS, MELISSA

I purchased a 2007 PT Crusier from Spring Chrysler Dodge with a 1990 Honda trade. I brought my daughter, a 20 year old college student at the time with perfect credit, and her mother-n-law. AmeriCredit finance all of our vehicles, however, because it was late & our distance to travel, we all left the car dealership without purchase agreements, we were told they will be mailed to us. I called the dealership, I returned to the dealership they could not find our folders and fired the salesman. AmeriCredit refused to send the paperwork. AmeriCredit financed two vehicles in my 20 year old daughter name, hers and her mothernlaw's. I contacted Daimler Chrysler, State atty-gen, and the FTC. I was paying $539.42 a month for a PT Crusier. I tried refinancing and trade-in and was told I was upside down $14, 000. After 3years I still owed $19, 000 AmeriCredit. After repo AmeriCredit sold the vehicle for $4, 000 and call me weekly for payment of $15, 000.

I'm the dauhgter of Kathy Scott Morris, we purchased cars in October 2006 from Spring Chrysler Jeep Dodge through AMERICREDIT. I have to say I feel like I have been financially raped because I was taken advantage of big time and still to this day I have been stuck with two cars under my name not being able to buy a house of my dreams, not being able to get refinanced, and not being able to live without this burden (AMERICREDIT). I pay $524 plus change, that's not including the 5.00 online charge, and not including the full coverage insurance for a used 2004 HONDA ACCORD- 4CYLinder and still owe $12K. After amount Financed $22, 844.40.

This is my story: Americredit! What a joke! I have been a great customer for over 5 years, payments ON TIME...NOT ONCE LATE! I am trying to get a business loan and needed them to send me a payment history. I call and ask for the documents and they tell me that it takes 10-14 days before I received them...Long story short...It has been over three weeks now and I still DO NOT HAVE MY PAPERS! I have called the so called "customer service" for the past week asking where and when did they send these documents (THAT BELONG TO ME)? They claim that they had sent them over a week ago through the postal service and they have no control over what the postman does...THEY ARE LYING! DOES IT SERIOUSLY TAKE OVER A WEEK TO GET A LETTER FROM TEXAS TO OHIO? HELL NO! I receive packages from all over the country...PACKAGES, I say and it has never taken a week to arrive! The Americredit customer service department has treated me like I'm a deadbeat and a loafer as well as talk to me as though I have never made payments. They ignore questions, constantly interrupt, are disrespectful, and could really give 2 ### about helping anyone! They are just like so many other loan company's TAKE TAKE TAKE and never give you what you ask for as well as "PLAY f*%*ING stupid" when you ask for a simple task to be done. IT's amazing how smart they are when it comes to stealing and pilfering your money. NOTE: To anyone who is desperate or otherwise...never ever go with this company because they will treat you as the common criminal and KEEP all of your money no matter how good or bad you are as a customer
