Mixed Reviews Reflecting Real Customer Experiences
As someone deeply invested in helping individuals navigate their financial well-being, I understand the importance of tools like AnnualCreditReport.com in managing credit health. The reviews paint a mixed picture, showcasing both positive and negative experiences. While some users found the service seamless, obtaining their reports without issues, others faced challenges such as difficulties in processing requests or encountering unclear instructions. It's evident that the platform plays a crucial role in providing access to credit information, but there are areas that require improvement to ensure a smoother experience for all users. As you consider utilizing this service, it's essential to approach it with awareness of potential limitations and varying user encounters.

This site is pretty easy to use to see all three of your credit reports (although they will try to upsell you to see your credit score which you don't need to get there). This is the actual government mandated ftc site unlike all the other misleading ones which offer a free credit report with a trial signup with a credit monitoring service (which often are a pain in the butt to cancel once they start charging your credit card automatically).
This is the one!
This is the one! Each year you can get a free copy of your credit report. I love this site! It gives you access to all 3 credit reporting agencies. You can get all 3 reports at once or you can get a report every 4 months by just picking ONE credit reporting agency to print a report from each time.
You can sign up for a free account at the 3 credit reporting agencies and they will hold your report online for 30 days to view. They will try and upsell you to pay for your credit score or report monitoring. You probably don't need the score unless you're buying the Taj Mahal... HA! So go check your credit report now for free!

I try to check my credit report every 6 months just to make sure no one has taken out any fake credit cards, etc. In the process of doing this, I've found many sites provide misleading information and try to trick consumers into paying for their own credit report (including mainstream banks and credit card companies).
However, we all have a right to see our credit report for free. Annualcreditreport.com will help you do it (they do it through Equifax, Experian, and TranUnion which are the three US credit reporting agencies) entirely online. It's pretty easy and only takes 10 minutes or so. Just be careful because the site will try to upsell you on paying for your credit score (which is different from your credit report) and other services you probably don't need.
The FTC also has written about this http://www.ftc.gov/freereports

This is the REAL website whereby you can access and print your credit report from all 3 credit reporting agencies once per year.
The site is easy to navigate, and only takes about 20-30 minutes to access ALL 3 of your reports and print them out. They also have useful information about disputes and other credit issues that you might need to know about. You can have a free report once per year. There are additional services available for a small charge to get your credit score or monitor your credit. All in all, a nice experience and very helpful!
Don't be scammed by the "freecreditreport.com" type sites. This is the ONLY ONE that is really free and supported by the credit bureaus themselves. All the rest of it out there is just a ploy to get you to buy their "credit monitoring" or protection services. Not really sure if those work or not. But if you want a service like that, it's available here from TrueCredit and it's terrific and a LOT LESS than you'll be hit for on many of the other sites.
AnnualCreditReport Review: Declining Ratings, Blocked Progress, and Incorrect Information - Not Worth Recommending (1 Star)
I remember using AnnualCreditReport a few years back and it seemed to work pretty well. However, I've noticed that the star ratings have declined recently. I agree with the other negative reviews I've seen lately. I've been blocked from progressing and I can't even send a comment because it keeps asking for more information. I was able to get my TransUnion report, but I got blocked by Experian after a couple of steps and couldn't get past the first step with Equifax. To make matters worse, some of the information on my Experian report was incorrect. They insisted that I had some activity that didn't exist and the amounts were incorrect.
After getting one report, I'm not even sure if pressing the "continue" button will bump me out of the whole process or continue to the next company report. This kind of thing should be flawless, but it's not. I know this because I've written internet code/interfaces before. I'm giving it a one-star rating because it's just not worth recommending.
What should have been a 10-minute process has turned into an hour-long ordeal. I'll have to make phone calls to acquire my reports, and if I have to do it by mail, it'll take two hours. If I have to go to the post office, it'll be even longer. This is just ridiculous!
AnnualCreditReport: A Free Credit Report Service or a Porn Hub?
I gotta tell ya, I've had some real issues with AnnualCreditReport. It's supposed to be this great service where you can get your credit reports for free once a year, but every time I try to use it, I end up with a bunch of filthy porn clogging up my email inbox for months on end. It's a real pain in the you-know-what.
I've had this happen to me three different times now, and the only years I didn't have this problem were the years when I forgot to order my credit report. It's like the universe is trying to tell me something, you know? But I can't just ignore my credit report forever, so I keep going back to AnnualCreditReport, hoping that maybe this time will be different.
The thing is, I never have this problem with my business email address. It's only when I use my personal email that I get inundated with porn. And it's not like I'm clicking on any sketchy links or anything - I'm just trying to get my credit report! It's so frustrating.
I've tried different strategies to avoid the porn problem. One time, I filled out the form and mailed it in instead of doing it online. That seemed to work okay, but it took forever to get my credit reports that way. And most of the time, I just want to be able to access them instantly online.
So I keep going back to annualcreditreport.com, hoping that maybe they've fixed the problem. But every time I click "submit" on Experian, I know what's coming. The porn. It's like a curse.
I think the problem might be buried in the Terms and Conditions somewhere. I mean, who reads those things, right? But maybe if I took the time to really go through them, I could figure out what's going on. Or maybe I just need to accept that this is the price I pay for wanting to know my credit score.
Anyway, if you've had a similar experience with AnnualCreditReport, let me know. Maybe we can commiserate together.
AnnualCreditReport.com: Frustrating Experience with No Customer Service
I recently went through the process of obtaining my credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com. I made sure to provide all the necessary information accurately and completely. However, to my dismay, I received an error message stating that my request could not be processed. There was no explanation provided as to why this happened. I was left wondering if it was due to my previous address, or perhaps my social security number, which I entered twice correctly. It was frustrating not knowing what went wrong.
Thankfully, the website did offer a solution. I could either write a letter to the address provided and wait 15 days for a response, or call their toll-free number. I opted to call the number, which was ***228. However, I was disappointed to find that it was not much help. The automated system prompted me to enter the same information I had already provided on the website, which took a long time as the robot repeated everything back to me slowly. There was also an option to listen to a series of recordings that provided redundant information already stated on the website, but in a robotic voice.
I was hoping to speak to a customer service representative for assistance, but there was no option to do so. It was frustrating not being able to get any help or explanation as to what went wrong. I was left feeling like the website was just garbage, with no real customer service to speak of.
Overall, my experience with AnnualCreditReport.com was disappointing. While the website does offer a free credit report, the process of obtaining it was frustrating and unhelpful. I hope they can improve their customer service and website functionality in the future.
ACR's Website Needs Serious Work: Frustrating Experience Trying to Access Credit Reports and Contact Support
AnnualCreditReport's website has been giving me some trouble lately. Last year, I was able to get all three reports with no issues at all. But this year, things have gone downhill. When I tried to access the website, it only directed me to Equifax. I had one item to dispute on that report, but I couldn't get back to ACR's website to check the other two agencies for errors. I clicked on all three, but it only took me to the Equifax link. I was frustrated because I wanted to make sure that all three reports were accurate.
When I tried to start all over, ACR said that I was out of luck because I had already gotten my "one free report" for the year. I was disappointed because I had to pay for the other two reports. I wanted to let ACR know about the problem, but their "Contact Us" form was not working. I took the time to recount the problem I had, but when I got to the end of the form, there was nothing to click to send the information except a "Tell us more about you" button. I clicked on that, hoping that it would submit my communication. But then, I got a red error message saying that "Tell us more about you" was an invalid request and to "try again"! I tried again twice, but it didn't work. I was so frustrated that I wanted to pull my hair out.
It seems like ACR's website has fallen into disrepair. They really need to fire their IT person who messed up a perfectly good website. It was so easy last year, but this year has been a nightmare. I hope they can fix the issues soon because I don't want to go through this again next year.
Get Your Free Annual Credit Report Now!
If you're looking to get your hands on a totally FREE copy of your Consumer Credit Report, then look no further than https://www.annualcreditreport.com. This site has been set up by the big three credit reporting agencies in the United States, so you can get your free annual credit reports once a year. All you have to do is log onto the site and click on "Request Yours Now!". Fill in the form to verify your information and follow the links to obtain your free credit report from each of the big 3 credit bureaus. The site is easy to navigate, but make sure to answer the security questions correctly. You might get asked if you "owned a chevy in 1961" along with other challenge questions to verify that you are not a robot. If none of the options pertain to you, just click none.
*** IMPORTANT! Consumers are only allowed one free credit report per year from each credit bureau. Write down the date that you request your credit reports so you can remember when you are able to request new credit reports next year... and the years after.
TIP: It is easier to dispute credit issues after you obtain a credit file number. You can use the file number listed on your free credit report.
*** WARNING! Make sure you use the exact URL I provided so you will land on the site that says "The only source for your free credit report. Authorized federal law. Several companies have paid to have their name show up as the first result when you Google "free credit report' in an attempt to get you to pay to receive your credit report. DO NOT get tricked into paying for your credit report.
I hope this helps everyone. There is such a thing as a FREE CREDIT REPORT. The problem is that there isn't a campaign to inform the consumer. Feel free to forward this on to your friends.
AnnualCreditReport.com Review: A Horrible Experience with Counterintuitive Site and Poor Usability
This site, AnnualCreditReport (annualcreditreport.com), is supposed to be a way for you to get your credit report from all three credit report providers once a year, free of charge. However, my experience with this site was HORRIBLE.
Firstly, I must say that this is a legit site. But they make it as incredibly painful for you as possible. As an application developer, I can tell you that their site fails just about every usability test I can imagine.
For starters, they use CAPTCHA-style human verification, but they use one with all capital letters. Typically, this type is case-insensitive, but is theirs? Of course not! And they don't bother TELLING you that it's case insensitive, so you put in three bad codes and BOOM! They decide you've had enough fun, and make you start over from the BEGINNING. All the data you entered (the human verification is on the bottom) is wiped out.
The site is EXTREMELY counterintuitive, and the "security" questions they ask you are not good ones. If you, for example, pay more on a loan than is required, that might be a bad answer (or not? Who knows? They won't tell you.)
There is no opportunity to provide feedback for how badly they are screwing up. They have a "Contact Us" form, but even properly filled out, with all sorts of personal information, and another CAPTCHA trap, it won't accept your data... and after three times of verifying that all the fields they ask for are correct and properly filled in, and clicking submit, it blows away your feedback and makes you start over again, with absolutely no explanation.
In short, this is not a "service". This is something the federal government *requiredthe credit report providers to provide, and they put the absolute minimum effort into actually doing what they were required to do. There is also no phone number, no email, no opportunity to contact a human to explain the multitudes of problems with this site. Good luck.

Back on 9/1/21 I went to annual credit report.com to get my "free" credit report(s). I was supposed to be able to view them online, ur was unable to because ALL of the identifying questions asked of me offered no valid responses. For example, the question: " Iur records show that from XXXX-XXXX you lived im one of the following cities. Which city did you reside in?" Of the four cities listed, none of them were the correct city, so I selected "None if the above". Every question asked inc me had responses that listed options where none of them were correct. So I had to select "None of the above" for every question. I'm doing this, at the end of the questions I received a statement that I was unable to view my free credit reports online and had to have them mailed to me.within three weeks. It's now been over six weeks and I still have not received them. I've contacted the company many times to ask what happened but get no answer or credit reports.

I would like a copy of my current 2021 credit report from Equifax, Experian or Trans Union. Each time I enter my information (including my social security number) no download occurs. I would like a mailed copy of my credit report in 2021.
annualcreditreport.com website that has been set up as required by federal law does not work. It has not changed in years and was always broken. I need someone to force these crooked scumballs to fix their clearly intentionally broken system to meet todays standards (a site that actually works when you press a button). Hundreds have complained yet the crooked reporting agencies that torment poor non-business entities with their product are not held accountable to any standard whatsoever. Concerns with AnnualCreditReport's Request for Personal Information and Mail Delivery
So, I went to AnnualCreditReport to check my credit score and I gotta say, I'm a bit suspicious. They asked for all my personal information, including my social security number, and then at the end they asked me to request my report by mail. Why didn't they tell me that at the beginning? It seems a bit fishy to me. I'm worried they might steal my information. What should I do?
AnnualCreditReport: The Hassle-Free Way to Get Your Credit Reports for Free
So, I was trying to get my credit score online, but none of the three credit agencies gave it to me. I went through all the steps and answered all the questions, but they all said I had to request it in writing. What a bummer! I was really hoping to get my score right then and there. But then I found out about AnnualCreditReport and it was a game-changer. I was able to get my credit report from all three agencies for free, once a year. It was super easy to use and I didn't have to jump through any hoops. I just had to answer a few questions to verify my identity and boom, my credit reports were right there in front of me. It was really helpful to see all the information in one place and I was able to check for any errors or discrepancies. I definitely recommend using AnnualCreditReport if you want to get your credit reports for free and without any hassle.

AnnualCreditReport Review: Shady but Legit - Beware of Cancellation Nightmare!
Yo, listen up folks! I gotta tell ya about this site called AnnualCreditReport. They say you can sign up online and get your credit report, but they ask for your credit card info. They give you a whole week to cancel, but when you try to call the number they give you to cancel, it's a total nightmare. You can't cancel and you can't even talk to a real person. It's a total scam, if you ask me.
But let me tell you, if you're smart, you'll still use this site. Yeah, it's a little sketchy, but you gotta get your credit report somehow, right? And this site is actually legit. You just gotta be careful and make sure you cancel within that 7-day window. And if you can't cancel, just dispute the charge with your credit card company. Easy peasy.
So yeah, AnnualCreditReport might be a little shady, but it's worth it to get your credit report. Just be smart about it and you'll be fine.
Terrible Experience Trying to Get Credit Report - Avoid This Website
I been tryin' to get my credit report for two whole days now, and let me tell ya, it ain't been easy. I ain't been able to get a copy yet, and now the dang website thinks I already got 'em! What a mess.
This website is the pits, I tell ya. Ain't never seen nothin' like it before. I'm so frustrated, I gotta send in a request for copies now and explain what happened. I just hope it all works out in the end. If not, I reckon I'll have to pay for a "free" credit report. What a ripoff!
Overall, this website is just plain awful. Don't waste your time with it, folks.
AnnualCreditReport.com Review: Free Credit Report, But Pay for Score?
I recently used annualcreditreport.com to get my credit report and everything turned out good. It's the official site mandated by the government and it's free, so that's a plus. However, I was disappointed to see a red icon once I got my credit report that said I had to pay almost $8.00 to get my credit score. That doesn't make any sense to me. Why wouldn't they have the next step be to get your FREE credit score? It seems like a bit of a bait and switch to me. Nonetheless, I'm happy with the information I received from the site and would recommend it to others who need to check their credit report.
AnnualCreditReport Review: A Bumpy Ride with Potential Pitfalls
I gotta say, my experience with AnnualCreditReport was a bit of a bumpy ride. I got redirected a few times, which made me feel a bit uneasy. I even had to restart my browser and clear my cache just to make sure I wasn't being hacked or anything. Not a great start, if you ask me.
Once I finally got to the website, it was a bit of a struggle to navigate. I had a hard time finding what I was looking for, and it took me longer than I would have liked to get my credit report. It's not the most user-friendly site out there, that's for sure.
One thing I do want to warn you about is disputing any wrong information online. Before you do that, you should really talk to a lawyer. When you click "by Agreeing mumbo Jumbo anythin," you're actually agreeing to arbitration. That means you're giving up your right to legal representation with a lawyer who could help you out. And let's be real, most of the time, lawyers will work on contingency, so it won't even cost you anything upfront.
All in all, I'd say AnnualCreditReport is a decent resource if you're looking to check your credit report. But just be aware that there are some potential pitfalls you'll want to watch out for. And maybe keep your lawyer on speed dial, just in case.
AnnualCreditReport: A Disappointing Experience in 2021
I gotta say, I used AnnualCreditReport back in 2013 and it was a breeze. I got all three of my credit reports in just five minutes! It was like magic. But now, two years later, things have changed. I tried to get my reports again, but it was a whole different story.
First off, Transunion straight up told me they couldn't fulfill my request. I hadn't even gone through the verification process yet! What gives, Transunion? And Equifax was no better. They asked me all these questions that I didn't even know the answers to before they finally sent me to the request by mail page. Come on, Equifax, I'm just trying to get my credit report here!
The only report I could actually get was from Experian. But that's not the point. The point is that these credit bureaus are supposed to give us our credit reports for free once a year, thanks to the government mandate. But it seems like they don't really want to fulfill their obligations. It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for us to get our own information.
And don't even get me started on the fact that you have to pay for any additional reports. That's just ridiculous. We should be able to access our own credit information without having to pay for it.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with AnnualCreditReport this time around. It's like the whole process has become more complicated and frustrating. But I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.
Disappointing Experience with AnnualCreditReport: Unable to Access Reports and Contact Forms Not Working
This website, AnnualCreditReport, is supposed to be the real deal, according to the FTC. However, my experience with it two days ago left me highly disappointed. I wanted to order all three of my credit reports, so I went through the process. Just as it went to the TransUnion page where I could view my TransUnion report, I clicked the "save as PDF" button to save it. Unfortunately, I didn't see all of the report and never had an option to get access to my other reports. The site redirected me to a page with a message saying the page was temporarily unavailable and to check back later. I was never able to get my reports as I ordered them!
To make matters worse, I had trouble with their contact forms. I had to give it a few tries before it actually went through. Now, I am without my reports and they haven't contacted me. I can't access their site either because the link shows a 404 page.
Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience with AnnualCreditReport. I was hoping to get all three of my credit reports in one place, but it seems like the site is not reliable. I would not recommend this site to anyone looking to get their credit reports. It's frustrating to have to go through this process and not get the results you were hoping for. I hope that the site can improve its services in the future so that others don't have to go through the same experience as I did.
Unable to receive free credit report
Unable to receive free credit report. The site says "During the COVID-19 pandemic..Equifax, Experian and TransUnion are continuing to offer free weekly credit reports." When I requested my free weekly credit report, I was denied by Transunion and Equifax who both stated I had to pay (attached).
My husband and I ordered our credit reports by phone 2/22, to be mailed to us within 15 days. As of today, 3/16 we have not received them On 2/22 my husband and I ordered credit reports via PHONE, and were told they would be mailed within 15 days. Because we had not yet received them by 3/12, I e-mailed them asking if/when the reports were mailed. On 3/15 we received a letter in the mail from them stating that all information is purged from their system memory when an ONLINE request session is closed, and they therefore are not able to research our request, and stated we need to contact the credit agency. Please note: we did NOT make an online request! Our request was made by telephone! We are extremely concerned about this were they mailed or not? They don't know the status of our request? They have no record of our phone request? By the way, we contacted the credit agency who informed us that when a credit report is requested from AnnualCreditReport.com, the credit agency does NOT mail the report... AnnualCreditReport.com does! Please help us. Thank you.

I have been unable to obtain my online credit reports for over 5 months now. The company has not responded to correct the issue. I have been unable to obtain my online credit reports since November 5. Specifically, I have made unsuccessful attempts on November 5, January 4, February 1, March 1, and March 31. Specifically, Equifax has never been available to me on these dates, while Transunion has not been available on either of the March dates. I have completed the "contact us" form after each attempt, and the problem still has not been solved.

This site is not compliant with CCPA and does not allow a user to OPT OUT & DO NOT SELL MY DATA. I do not wish my information, yet on another site! I do not wish my information, yet on another site! I never authorized Equifax (who is running this) to place my compromised data through Equifax's breach on yet another site. I have exercised my right with Equifax & the other credit reporting agencies to DO NOT SELL MY DATA and yet here we are. Yet another site to be compromised with all my credit information. When does this stop? There was a class action lawsuit on this, and yet now we have MORE ENTITIES with our personal information to be compromised. The site does not have a CCPA DO NOT SELL MY DATA option. It is therefore non-compliant!

Ordering a Credit Report I could not complete the process. It asked for my Ex-Wife's Daughters whereabouts!?!?! Divorced over 15 years! Why is the security process asking me about a person I have not spoken to in 15+ years. Not only has it stopped me from getting my credit report, it's asking me about someone I DO NOT Speak to at all or have any contact with whatsoever. Very unprofessional to ask or assume this of the patron! I want this removed / stricken from my record as I am remarried and have a family for 15+ years.

This site is not compliant with CCPA and does not allow a user to OPT OUT & DO NOT SELL MY DATA

My husband and I ordered our credit reports by phone 2/22, to be mailed to us within 15 days
Thank you.
