A mail was sent to my inbox and I wanted it to be forwarded to me. First, I requested quote and the price given was US$ 42.21. Later, I saw that they needed to to take a new action on the dashboard. I naturally clicked "Ship immediately" after I received the quote. Afterwards I found out I was first charged $ 42.21 and then $120. I contacted customer service and the mail center. The mail center asked for my mailbox number and never replied. Customer service of Anytime Mailbox told me that due to a glitch with UPS, the operator had to cancel the original quote and request. And since the new action I took was "Ship immediately" rather than "Request quote", they were unable to provide a new quote and proceeded with shipping it right away. And they simply charged me $120. The operator never gave me any form of communication about the glitch and they chose to let me pay for this. Obviously sending an email to me was too much of a ask for the operator and stealing my money directly was so much easier. Plus, they had the company (Anytime Mailbox) to support them. Why not be just be a scammer, right?
Recommendation: Be extremely careful. The local mail center might not communicate with you for any issues or questions. All they do is take money from you and they'll let you pay for their mistakes. Anytime Mailbox seems to be standing with these mail centers. Better avoid Anytime Mailbox if you're still considering.
The mail center is called NELA Mail Center and the address is 1225 Cypress Ave in Los Angeles.

The operator never gave me any form of communication about the so-called glitch and they chose to let me pay for their failure of doing their job well. All I got was "understand" "appreciate" or "apologize" from customer support but they had zero intention of fixing this issue. I think the company and these mail centers are working together to scam customers by using shady tactics so that they could charge so much more (in my case, triple the original price).
Anytime Mailbox and their operator conned you using a bait-and-switch pricing scheme. They neglected to inform you of their “glitch”, disregarded your privilege to accept a new quote, and charged whatever they felt like. This is outright stealing.
Given that their support is useless, contest the $120 charge with your bank or credit card company immediately and request a refund for the fraudulent charge. Report the matter to FTC and your local consumer protection agency for misleading practices. If they don’t remedy this, turn the tables on them on review pages and social media. They clearly rely on people accepting this type of scam — do everything to make sure they do not.
Thanks for your guidance. I will certainly not let this go and make sure more people, especially potential customers, can see this.
