Roof repair
ASPEN came into our neighborhood after a hail storm in 2008 to contract to put a new roof on our house with our insurance company LIberty Mutual they completed the job and they was paid by our company. And we had a guarantee on the roof. We also have a guarantee on the shingles which are fine. The workman ship on the flashers and boots were put in correctly and we have leakage in more than one room. Researching our neighborhood more people are having the same problem poor workman ship. Looking at the BBB is has happen over and over again. We want them to come back and fix what they did not do properly. Some complaints have been resolved we want ours to be fixed properly.
Desired outcome: FIx what they did not do properly the first time.
As it stands in February 2021 we have a binding contract & permit which they are not honoring.
BEWARE - has not honored contract.
Entered contract to replace roof & gutters July 22, 2020.with $1, 000 deposit. Promised completion by end of September. When nothing was done by end August, I called and was told they were backed up with Covid and would start soon. Mid-September I asked if they got the permit yet. They said I needed to sign a 2nd form so they could apply and someone would be here soon with document (soon was early Oct).
I called and told them I had many leaks ruining the interior. I asked if they could at least put some tarps up - said sure (never done). Toward the end of October I could not get anyone in Florida to answer the phone. I then called the home office in Pennsylvania and was told the head of the Florida office would call me back quickly. He called back and said with Covid and Hurricane repairs in Louisiana, which were more lucrative - labor was in short supply. He would let me know when they had a crew available. When he finally got back to me in November, he said they would need to cancel contract because they quoted price too low
**As per contract - all parties have to be in agreement in order to cancel and we would not agree. They then sent $1000 to us and we refused acceptance of letter.
So as it stands in February 2021 we have a binding contract & permit which they are not honoring.
Truck damaged and insurance / aspen settled amount discrepancy
This is the worst company I have ever worked with, hands down! Firstly, this is my 3rd roof install due to hail damage, so it isn't my first rodeo!
I went with this company because they offered a $500 incentive for advertising. This would offset my enormous deductible. Nobody else had offered that. However, when it came to this company working with my insurance company, the process dragged on starting in May, and the roof finally went on at the end of October. Then the gutters were supposed to come a day later...but the team was a no-show. 2 days later, they finally came out to do the gutters. The gutter team then scratched my truck with the gutters, but denied that they had done it, despite the color transfer being an EXACT match to my gutter color and the gutter crew having made their path through the snow right along the spot where my truck was damaged. Again, they still denied it.
I called Aspen and all they did was say sorry, but it's not our problem. It's between you and the subcontractor. They gave me the gutter company's insurance info, but the claim was denied because I didn't have a video tape of the event occurring. I also spent about 5 hours of my time getting an estimate for the damage (requested by insurance) and submitting paperwork. All in all, there is over $1400 worth of damage to my truck and Aspen refuses to take responsibility because they subcontracted out the gutter work. They then asked me to sign a document waiving their liability for the incident, which I refused to do. At that point, they decided to send me a threat in the mail, saying they would put a lean against my property if I didn't pay in full within 10 days. At this point, I had still not received all f my funds from insurance and I had already paid my deductible to Aspen.
They had insisted upon getting a check each time that funds were released from insurance. At the end, under fear of a lean, I sent the final payment out of my own pocket. I still have not received any more money from insurance. My insurance claims that the final settled amount is significantly (like 1k) lower than what Aspen claims. Now I'm short my deductible, plus over $1400 for truck damage, plus the difference between the insurance settlement and Aspen's final bill.
On top of it all, I've called and left 3 messages asking for someone to call me back to talk about this and nobody has called back! Seriously, avoid this company like the plague!
Roof repairs
BUYER BEWARE! Do not use Richard Acerra or Aspen Roofing Contractors for your roof - they did not complete the roof repair and replacement work that I hired them for, and the work they did do had to be torn out and redone. Save yourself the headache and expense of dealing with Richard's pompous lies and excuses. I paid him then had to repay someone else to re-do everything and then had to pay for an attorney.

We had a huge hail storm with baseball size hail and probably 85% of the homes in my subdivision got new roofs. I contacted 4 companies and decided on Aspen b/c of all their "promises". They roofed my house in 2 days, but I also have 4 broken windows, torn screens, dented air conditioner and broken window wells. The rrof looks nice but they did not clean up well with their magnetic cleaner. My dog stepped on a nail on the deck (and we have found many more) and in my driveway got a flat tire. This happened i n April and no word on the windows. I called and was told "within 2 days" someone would be out. I finally called the company, sent an email... when I called the company I asked to speak to the manager but had to give my complaint to the receptionist. he/she never called me back to apologize. Never heard from corporate with my email. Here I wait for my windows. These guys are fast talking and sound amazing but I would NOT recommend them to anyone!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I am dealing with them now. My insurance check didn't get handed over to them and they didn't know what in the world to charge-got nasty-accused me of fraud. Folks if you get a check in your name and your mortgage company get it signed off at the mortgage company and bank it till the work is done.Don't pay until they give you a final bill and only then if its not more than the insurance paid you-and don't tell them how much it is. Your dealings with your insurance carrier is your private business.and is not fraud which aspen will tell you that it is. Insurance sends you what the roof was worth. I would never use them again. Call a dozen before you decide. Don't sign off that its done and agreeable to you if you don't know what you are paying.
