Worst customer service that I have ever experience. I started booking a house from them, when I got to the third line ID verification; I uploaded my driver’s license. Then I was prompt to allow access to my phone camera. That was a Big No for me, I was not allowing access to my private phone, period. I called and told the representative that If access to my electronic is the only way to rent this house cancel the reservation and do not charge my credit card”’ She told me she needed to talk with The Team to see if there was another options, she would get back to me. Note, on their booking site it states that you must complete the steps below to finalize your booking and receive detailed home info. Because I really wanted to rent this house, I waited. No one got back with me, I call again, they were still not sure of why The team did not response yet, they call me back. Don’t make the mistake I did, I trusted them. Bottom line after many calls and emails, 3 days later they tell me that they would be cancelling my reservation, and keeping the booking fee, because AvantStay reserves the right to cancel my reservations for not completing the identity verification. I demanded my $ 195.00 booking fee, as their policy states 24hour full refund. I requested the cancellation, but they did not honor my request, they waiting and fraudulently, say it my fault that they had to cancel. I have phone records, as I know they do. I cancel in 8 minutes, and my screen still say, that I did not complete the booking, but the billed the 7,369.52 anyway. The id policy states ‘Persona will prompt you to upload a copy of a valid, government-issued photo ID and will capture certain personal information, and in some cases a facial geometry scan, to confirm your identity.’ It does not state required access to your phone. They stop responding to me. Why did they not honor my request for refund, why did they not response until 3 days later, I can only believe that was on purpose to keep my money. It really makes you angry, when a company is so dishonest, shame on you. You didn’t do justice to renter or owner.
