Good Morning

In the past two years, I've noticed that the quality control of the taste of Bacardi Superior has changed (in some bottles). I'm not a big drinker (one Bacardi and Diet Coke a night) but it's the only alcohol I drink! The first time I noticed the change in taste was two years ago on Celebrity Infinity. I complained to the Food and Beverage Director (Marius) on board the ship. Fortunately, I had brought some Bacardi miniatures from home (Florida). We did a taste test comparing my Bacardi to theirs, everyone agreed that the Bacardi aboard the ship had a different taste to it. We all figured somehow it got tainted in shipment or storage on the ship. Marius had a new case of Bacardi opened, and the flavor was correct.

Since then, I've had similar occurrences, on Celebrity Beyond, Allure of the Seas, Icon of the Seas, and even at home (Florida). At home we only purchase our Bacardi from Patrick Air Force Station, Florida (1.75 liter bottles). 3 of these (bottle) were returned to the Air Base and swatted out for other bottles.

Recently, at home, I think we've isolated, the different taste in the Bacardi Superior. We had an old bottle (maybe 8 years old) of Bacardi Gran Reserva. When we mixed it with Diet Coke, it tasted exactly like the bad taste we've experiencing the past two years. I don't believe you make Gran Reserva anymore; correct? Are you using the old Gran Reserva processing barrels, to process Bacardi Superior? If so, the that flavor is leeching into the Bacardi Superior.

It really has been hit or miss on the funny tasting Bacardi Superior. Sorry I do not have the SKU so you could check, on how those bottles were processed. I will take pictures of these affected bottles, in the future and pass it along.

I'm just a loyal fan of the Bacardi Superior, please don't mess with perfection!

Sincerely Richard Kelley
