Not sure what took me so long but here's the story with Devin Verdon of the notorious Bally's Total Fitness. I was so young and naive not to have sued but let's get this over with. First of all, Bally's went bankrupt a while back for all the good reasons. Shady management, hostile working environment and toxic coworkers to name a few. One of the absolute worst of all time besides the conniving Wendy A Tilley and thieving Ryan Conlin was DEVIN VERDON, "district manager."
Now he's doing some shady DNA Fit on Facebook which is internet fitness that everyone can get for free on YouTube. What's his deal? Well besides a shady sales man who's quick to blame and accusatory if you don't make a sale, an absolute nobody who only gives a rat's [censored] about his own paycheck. Imagine going to a used car lot and seeing a salesman approaching you while rubbing his hands is the perfect description.
What happens if you don't make a sale and a potential member walk out on you? You probably think a great manager will provide a little friendly support to encourage your next sale, correct? Something like, "Hey don't worry about it bud. They not all here to join and many are just shopping us around. You tried your best there so stay positive. Don't let this get you down and keep up the great job." Yeeeah right!
Devin Verdon be like, "You dropped the ball man! Can't believe you gave up and allow them to walk out the door without a membership (shakes his head). All that work down the drain for nothing tsk tsk. you couldn't close them because THEY CLOSED YOU! You didn't sell them because THEY SOLD YOU! You gotta learn to overcome their objections man. You keep taking NO for an answer, we ALL be out of business. I don't know but you probably just need more training because that's unacceptable."
Folks like this guy is why Bally's went bankrupt. Hostility and drama 24/7 and accuse all faults upon others. My only mistake was tolerating all the corruption instead of hiring an attorney. Rather, I now have to settle for whatever relief this exposure will bring. Check him out for yourself if you never laid eyes on the shadiest salesman ever. Good riddance!

It's especially frustrating to hear about Devin Verdon's behavior. His accusatory and unsupportive attitude when sales didn't go through must have been incredibly demoralizing. You deserved encouragement and constructive feedback, not blame and criticism. His approach clearly contributed to the toxic atmosphere that eventually led to Bally's downfall.
It's unfortunate that you didn't take legal action at the time, but sharing your story now can still provide some relief and perhaps warn others about his current endeavors. Your description paints a vivid picture of the type of manager he was and how his behavior likely impacted many employees.
I hope that by bringing this to light, others can see the kind of environment you had to endure and perhaps avoid similar situations. You deserve much better, and I hope your future endeavors are far more positive and supportive.
