ILoveKickboxing changed my life!
My adventure with ILKB (Atlantic Blvd and Kernan in Jacksonville, FL) started back in February 2017. The only thing I knew about kickboxing was that I had a friend attend one class and jammed her toe when she kicked the bag. Can you say NO THANKS! After years of gym memberships (meat markets) and attempting to work out in my garage nothing just seemed to keep my attention or motivate me to continue to work out.
ILKB was offering 3 classes for $9.99 promotion so I decided to just wrap my toes and sign up. What else did I have to loose other than a few pounds... The facility was buzzing with a lot of wide eyes, first time attendees and a room full of energetic instructors. The instructors were so excited, motivated and genuine in their LOVE for ILKB.
Once I got over the fact that I actually survived the first 15 minutes of the 1 hour class AND I got to hit something (the bag) I was ready to give this new way of exercises a chance. That was almost 6 months ago and 14 lbs. heavier. Yes. Thats right I have lot 14 lbs., I actually have abs (who knew) and I can see my tummy getting flatter. Ive gone from a size 16 to a 12 and depending on the store a size 10. I havent been a size 10 since I was 10 years old. LOL
ILKB has changed my outlook on life, how and what I eat and they have been the biggest supporter in helping me GET MY SEXY BACK! Did I mention that I turn 50 in one month. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
ILKB is and will remain a part of my life until I just cant kick and jab cross anymore THANK YOU to the entire staff of [protected]@ the Atlantic Blvd and Kernan location in Jacksonville, FL.
Bedford Location is Awesome
I Highly recommend I Love Kickboxing in Bedford, TX. I just joined http://www.ilovekickboxingbedfordtx.com/. I had my first workout today. Juan stayed with me the whole way and showed me the ropes. Serena led a total kick butt class. Even the other people in the class were friendly and encouraging. I am super overweight, out of shape, have a heart condition plus old sports injuries that limit mobility, but Juan stuck with me, and helped me with modifications to some of the exercises when needed. So, I can honestly say that anyone could do this. The workout really kept the heart rate going and the calories burning. I felt it was a great stress reliever too and actually felt great afterwards. I think one of the things that I liked the most was the friendly and encouraging atmosphere. They really try to have that family atmosphere by the time I left everyone knew my name. Even though they are friendly they will still hold you accountable to help you reach your goals. If you don't show up, they are going to call you and help you get back on track. This is what makes them different from your typical gym. The music is great, they make it fun but it is still a kick butt workout! They are always running great trial offers through facebook and groupon. I signed up for a trial through one of their facebook deals and got 3 classes and a pair of pink boxing gloves for only $9.99. They have other opportunities to get free purple gloves on Thursdays, fun DJ events, and you even get a free bottle of water when you checkin on facebook for your workout. They have lots of ways to stay connected via social media to provide support on your journey. So, what are you waiting for? Give it a try!:-)

Worth Every Cent
Amazing supportive Instructors. Hands on all the way. They want to help you reach your goals not just leave you to fend for yourself. On your first class they will work with you one on one and teach you all the moves. You'll do the warm up with the rest of the class, stretch with the rest of the class and once you put the gloves on they will teach you the moves. After you cool down with the class and take a photo with everyone. It really does create a bonding experience that will show you that you aren't alone. When I first was thinking about joining I was afraid I would be surrounded by people at higher levels and more physically fit than me but you are surrounded by people from all walks of life, from all levels of experience and all fitness levels. The other members and instructors are amazingly welcome and helpful if you miss a step another member will help you see what the right steps are or if the instructor sees you doing something wrong they will help you adjust your position and movements. They cheer you on with your progress and definitely don't pressure you into anything. If they see you really struggling they will help modify until you are strengthened. I have seen the instructors show the rates and offer the membership price to those that are at their first class and they don't pressure or treat you terribly after. If you still want to attend the classes without signing up they check in on you and make sure you are having fun. They do check in after each class to see if you want to sign up but it's a member only gym, it's what happens but there is no pressure. They are welcoming and encouraging and just want to see you succeed. It's the right place if you need a little push to help you get where you want to be. Not Just A Number
January 2019 I joined my girlfriends in the ever-popular New Year's resolution to be healthy, workout, lose weight. There aren't enough pages to document how many times this had been a resolution before or how many times I had started and stoppedstarted and stopped. After 30 days and 7 lbs down, we challenged each other to add something to our regime and "kick it up a notch" so I took that challenge literally and purchased a Groupon for ILKB-SP. From the moment I called, to schedule my first workout I knew something was different. The staff took the time to have a conversation with me and answer all of my questions; I wasn't rushed off the phone. February 18th 2019, I contemplated rescheduling my first workout. I'm a wife, a mom of two, full time social worker. Who has time? But if anything was going to be different it was going to have to start with making time. I made time for myself that day and haven't looked back. The instructors are friendly, patient, and keep you accountable. You see their interaction with each other and other members and it is a true family, a fitness family. During my first workout I didn't have time to make excuses about what I couldn't do because of my size or lack of fitness, there was Hannah showing me every modification and cheering me on. I was able to fully participate and for the first time I wasn't just "the big girl" trying to keep up. All of the instructors work hard to keep each workout engaging, you aren't going to come here and be bored or have to overthink how to workout. Since joining I'm down an additional 16 lbs. My friends and family have commented on how stress free and happy I look now. Life hasn't changed, I'm still busy but now I have something that is just for me. How can you continue to pour into others if you are empty? That mat is there to fill me, to challenge me, to take every stress and worry and show me that I can do it. There isn't a tangible equivalent for finally feeling like health, fitness and exercise is part of you not just something you long for. I have a long way to go but the journey does not seem impossible now. I have found my "thing" and a place where I am seen and not treated as just another number. Thank you to the incredible staff for every single thing they do- thank you for the clean studio, thank you for the fun theme workouts, thank you for the recognition, thank you for the accountability, thank you for the encouragement, thank you for the challenge. I am even going to say thank you for the burpees because I'm going to be able to knock those out one day.

Better Places Around Town More Affordable & More Genuine!
The MOST overpriced & overrated kickboxing facility! I wouldn't mind paying more IF I felt the customer service was good! For instance when I first started I wasn't getting all the steps/combos as kickboxing was very new to me, so I asked IF I could pay for a private or get another TRAINING DAY. NO was their answer, I called the LAMAR location, THEY rock, they said yes they'd help me no prob! But the CP location is closer! I asked CP why, and they said we are all owned independently. I would of got a membership here, but they have been so unhelpful & rude! Like last night, my friend & I went to do the FRI 6:15pm class, my friend got stuck in traffic, and I was stuck from a car accident. Megan let my friend who arrived 5 mins earlier in, then I was told NO! She said u missed warmup, but my friend didn't make warmup he said, and I told her I just came from my Personal Trainer and was already warmed up! This was very biased & inaccurate with what she was telling me! I've seen people come in late before & she lets them in! The class tonight was NOT busy, only 4 others! And I was NOT a distraction, I was in the very back, next to my friend. And I was the ONLY one that was told to leave! VERY interesting where the cut-off is, I was already stretched & warmed up, and he came from work and was not! I feel for a kickboxing facility, it does NOT show that they care about the members, just getting your money! IF I could I would give it ZERO stars! At least the LAMAR one has heart! Don't waste your money here, there are much better places to workout!
ILKB North Haven
Day one was a horrible experience and the phone calls prior were worse. You can’t hear the caller and you end up with a headache by the end of the conversation.
Prior to the first booked class and receiving confirmation of a 5:15 class by email, we arrive 30 minutes prior as requested only to be told we cannot wait and had to return at 5:15 because class does not start until 5:45. No one EVER made mention of a 5:45 class.
We return at 5:20 for the now 5:45 class to be told we need to reschedule. Of course we resist because now the miscommunication on the part of ILKB is not even being acknowledged even after showing the email we received confirmed a 5:15 class
Luke was apologetic but this little girl Gabbi was very obnoxious, extremely rude, unprofessional and continued to insert her unsolicited feedback even when asking her to not speak to me. She even said she will call the cops but unbeknownst to her, I am the cops. I told her to go ahead as she continued to try kicking us out. She surely cannot be what you want to represent your entity as. Her behavior was extremely inappropriate as she offered no accommodation to what occurred.
We received calls from Cece and the manager Kristine to make scheduling arrangements and are extremely displeased with the entire process as well as the way your miscommunication was handled.
We will be requesting refunds and writing a more formal notice to your headquarters.
I would advise the local community to not partake in supporting this facility.

My unused classes were cut in half
Eleni the manager of the Hickville location was very disrespectful to me. I reached out so I can resume classes since gyms were closed and I also informed her that I was coming from a another ILKBDC LOCATION and I didn't know that some places resumed classes. She told me that's impossible because she was in charge Of sending the emails n there's no way I didn't get one. I proceeded to tell her I really didn't get one . Then she asks me for my phone number to look me up in the system and was giving me a hard time about the dates I last attended although I told I don't remember she still asked me about 10 more times in a loud tone. Then I said can I speak to a manager maybe he/she can better assist me and she responded " nope I am the manager I deal with it all" so I said there isn't someone higher up I can speak to "no Eleni) responded very rude to me. Then I I said can I please have a copy of the classes I attended sent to my email that when she stated she doesn't have my email on file. Then I said I knew you didn't have because I never got an email about classes resuming during the pandemic then she said she never said that. She was very rude to me I just called for one thing and ended getting a headache from all her yelling. I am a director myself and I know there has got to be a better way to deal with and speak to customers. Furthermore I said miss can you please just let me know when I can start back up and send me an email with my class usage because 19 left seems Inaccurate. Eleni "said no my GM will contact you" then I said u said before there was no one else I can speak to, I then asked for the persons name and number and she told me NO IM MOT GIVING YOU MY GM's name and number" I then said when will they. E reaching out and she responded " I don't know I'm not a Phychic" one thing I will say is that in my years of directorial leadership I have never spoken to a customer in such a condescending manner below dirt and disrespect. I respect people of all cultures backgrounds and I understand that customers are valuable and keep the buisnesses flourishing. My response simply would've been even if I didn't know when my GM GENERAL MANAGER WOULD BE REACHING OUT TO A CUSTOMER WOULDVE SIMPLY BEEN IN ABOUT 3-5 business days if you don't hear anything in that time frame give us a call back. Have a nice day.
Desired outcome: Eleni needs customer relations training, missing classes along A refund of the total balance .so I never have to experience this disrespect again. There is a enough going on in the world as it is.
New management refusing to honor my purchase
The new owner does not honor the class package I purchased before he became an owner. I sent him a record of me paying over $470 for class package to be used by my family. On 9/ 11/18, I prepaid online for 5 classes kickboxing and free gloves for $29.99 (advertised on Facebook) for the Sugar Land location (2725-Q Town Center Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479). On my first day (9/18/18) of class, I was pressured into joining by Cal to get the 8-month package. According to Cal, I was to pay the first month through l 0/20/18 as well as pay the last month of an 8-month membership in advance - totaling $330. Based on his actions, I believe that I was "fast talked". I felt compelled as there were people standing around during the conversation. He kept being persistent stating that this was a one time deal, the offered expired at the end of class, and if I signed up later, I would have to pay a joining fee. Cal also said that I could not end the membership unless I moved out of the area or submitted a note from a doctor; but it had to be in writing. I was not given a copy of the contract. Now that I had time to reflect, I do not wish to be apart something that use advertisement to lure people in only to manipulate or possibly con them into signing contract on their first day of class without giving him or her an opportunity to complete their five classes before making the decision to officially join. I completed maybe 3 or 4 of 5 classes. Exactly, what was the point of pre-paying $29.99 for 5 classes and free gloves if I am forced to join on the first day of class? ls it your organization' s intent to "shady deal" or "trap" people in a contract before completing prepaid classes? I would like a FULL refund of my $330 that was charged to my Visa! I am instructing iLoveKickboxing Sugar Land not to further charge any of my bank accounts. This is my OFFICIAL notice to terminate the membership contract and refund my $330 to my Visa. Thank you for assisting me on the matter.
I tried contacting the corporate office via email and by phone. None of their contacts listed on the corporate website works. The email address fails each time I submit a complaint via their website. I left a message and no one has returned my call.
5 day kickboxing package
The owner of Extreme Ninja in Medford who owns a franchise of iLoveKickboxing, was extremely rude, not helpful, unprofessional, and offended me, the customer, multiple times within 1 sentence today, 4/12/18, by saying: "Oh well I'm SORRY but ilovekickboxing did NOT know you were such a KICKBOXING EXPERT, so I can you the link to get your money BACK, you ordered through Groupon right?"
First of all, I never said I was an Expert, I said that I have done kickboxing and boxing for years and found the 30 minute required WITH an appointment to be unnecessary and time consuming for me. The owner by the name of Ninja Nguyen not only unprofessionally offended me ON Purpose in front of his customer but started putting words in my mouth too. When I started corrected him, he ignored me while I was speaking to him and started talking to someone else. This was all done in an attempt to humiliate his customer for expressing dissatisfaction with the "rule" of having to make an appointment when convenient for Extreme Ninja to do a completely unnecessary 30 minute review on how to put gloves on!
Second of all, trying to embarrass customers in front of other customers does not serve well Extreme Ninja because instead of recommending them, I will warn people about the unprofessional, rude, and offensive remarks that they will deal with if they go to the Medford location!
Third of all, I didn't sign up for kickboxing to make appointments that are convenient for Extreme Ninja! I purchased the packet to start working out right away! Extreme Ninja told me that I have to wait till next week to make the appointment which renders this packet ineffective. Why wasn't I told that I would need to accomodate the business to start working out? I didn't purchase the packet to make appointments, I purchased it to work out! I had to call 3 times for appointments. Extreme Ninja did not call me until after a day of my purchase! It says that the business will call right away, yet I had to wait over 24 hours for their call. That was unacceptable right there!
Fourth, as the owner of an establishment and as an owner of a franchise like ilovekickboxing, Ninja Nguyen should have provided better feedback to me as the customer and to his staff to contact me sooner.
Fifth, Ninja Nguyen has no right to offend me in front of his other customers when I express disatisfaction with the fact that his staff, including Him, consumed my time making appointments for a routine that I already know and have tought. Telling me in sarcastic tone that "he didn't know you were such an expert"does not help a frustrated customer whose time has been wasted for days to start a workout. Instead of rectifying the situation, Extreme Ninja decided to offend me and then purposely ignored me while I was speaking.
Sixth, Ninja Nguyen lied through his teeth, trying to look "good" in front of his other customer by putting words in my mouth and saying that I was "yelling" when I was speaking normally. Yes I was frustrated with the business telling me that they could not accommodate my availabilities until next week or potentially weeks from now. Of course! Who purchases a workout packet to use weeks away? Certainly NOT me. It does not serve Ninja Nguyen well to be rude to other potential customers, by lying and putting words in a customer's mouth.
Seventh, I arrived 15 minutes prior to a 9:00am class, at 8:45am. Ninja Nguyen could have provided the options available to me instead of offending me which steered the conversation in an entire different direction. I spent an additional 5-10 minutes standing the humiliation of a business that does not only not respect its customers and potential customers, but offends them too! That is unacceptable!
Eighth, I didn't go to the business to be insulted! If the owner of a franchise has an imperative of offending customers, then customers need to be forewarned! I took off work to go to a 9:00am to accommodate ilovekickboxing in Medford and this is how they treat their customer. Unacceptable!
Ninth, how would Ninja Nguyen feel if he decided to take a class for fun by another venture and they tell him that he needs to take a 30 minute class on how to kick? I said to Ninja Nguyen that ilovekickboxing should have told customers that this kickboxing is solely for amateurs and that customers need to accommodate the business who owns ilovekickboxing! This, in addition to other questions that I had, Nguyen misinterpreted and started putting words in my mouth. I corrected him and he still continued. That's not acceptable, nor indicative of a professional business.
Tenth, Nguyen did not answer any of my questions. Instead he misinterpreted the questions, offended me, was rude, disrespectful, and lastly purposely ignored me while I was speaking! These were my questions when I arrived at 8:45am today at Extreme Ninja:
1) I'm here for the 9:00am class but couldn't make it at 8:30am. Can I just take the class with 15 minutes on the clock, considering I have done kickboxing for years?
2) if not, then please refund me the money for the packet. When can this be done?
Nguyen instead of addressing the first question, decided to insult me with his insults made at the beginning of this email. The second question was not answered by Nguyen. Instead he directed to the email address which he was reluctant to provide and asked staff member Zinka to write down. Zinka almost refused to write down the information.
Great to see the lack of professionalism by ilivekickboxing.
Please provide my money back ASAP. Thanks!
Scammers. Beware!!!
Now I know they are shameless scammers and very disappointed with this fact. I decided to cancel my membership and didn't expect to encounter a huge mess. The given phone number is non-working. Impossible to get in touch. And they kept taking my money.
I was very irritated I couldn't do anything to stop these charges. People say that sometimes the team refuses to solve problems and it's had to get the money back.
Don't know what those people were thinking and what stopped them from reporting to the authorities, but this will be my next step.
They didn't reply to my emails
I was newcomer in fitness, therefore I needed some help. I decided to reach the owners of the website www.ilovekickboxing.com. I sent several emails already, but still no news from them. I wonder if they didn’t reply to emails at all or they simply ignored me. I wonder if there are people, who faced the same problems. Please, post comments then.
Horrible attitude and I haven't received full info
I bought two groupons to www.ilovekickboxing.com. I wanted to attend their classes, but it turned out that all of them would start only in summer, but the groupon would end until summer. I called to this company and asked to find something appropriate for me, but the lady only diddle-daddle and did nothing. I didn’t want to lose money and groupon, but the staff was useless, and I haven’t received any help from them. Some fake promises and that’s all. Waste of money.
