Poor returns policy
SHOCKING COMPANY
I ordered a beautiful cot from Bambino Direct. It arrived on the date expected, fab, however the parcels were filthy, ripped and the contents damaged. It took an age to get a returns approval, an age for the company to collect. This was bad enough; but the replacement took 5 separate attempts to be delivered. The sales assistants blatantly lied to me on two occasions saying the replacement was en route for the agreed dates, only to be told by the couriers that they had no record of such parcels. I had to take 4 separate days off of work to await delivery, only to be told it was other either lost or non existent. I lost earnings as I am self employed, not to mention the increase in both my mobile phone bill and landline phone bill calling an 08 number to chase the deliveries up. When I claimed for loss of earnings they took weeks to reply, and simply said that they cannot compensate for forces beyond their control and that because i did not specify a date for delivery they were not liable! This is ridiculous as I simply wanted delivery of of the goods that I had already paid for, and so with each failure to deliver I had to take the next available delivery date, which would again materialise to be another wasted day! How is it possible for such a huge online company to behave so unprofessionally with no thought for the undue stress on a member of their target demographic, a pregnant woman!? Blatant lies and disregard of the consumer. I truly thought I had been duped out of my money. The replacement that eventually turned up had marks and dinks on it and looked like a reject also. I just could not bare another 8 weeks of anxiety and disappointment in tying to return it for a refund. Unbelievably bad company. Never had any issues with Mothercare, Amazon, Next etc and I have recently ordered a highchair from online4baby, the delivery turned up exactly when stated, within the hours slot specified; fantastic service. I would never use, recommend Bambino Direct ever again; these companies should be answerable to someone but sadly not.

Terrible Terrible Company!
Bambino Direct are a complete sham of a company, ordered our baby cot bed over a month ago for it to be delivered in an appaliing condition! Was badly marked and damaged( in total 26 faults were found) all due to manufacturing. We also waited in at home for the delivery which came 3 days late instead of the date promised. After complaining to Bambino Direct the company who we used to purchase the cotbed form we had several weeks of phone calls and emails before they accepted what we were saying, but the blame was passed back to tutti Bambini so we cut out the middle man and decided it would be easier to contact Tutti Bambini directly
We then were asked to take photos and email these to Tutti Bambini before they would collect the item, when have you ever had to do this with a damaged product you purchase online or in a shop?! We were promised calls would be returned yet they never were and when we did speak to anyone they did not seem very bothered and kept delaying us with excuses and promises of call backs the next day. they denied receiving the images and said they would not condsider doing anything unless they were emailed images which delayed everything.
We had to wait yet another week as a manager had to look at the product photos before agreeing that it was damaged and would arrange to take the product back otherwise we would have had to keep it.
Eventually a courier was arranged to collect on 25th May between 8-6 but surprise surprise, he never arrived we had to spend another day at home beofre it was eventually collected the next day with no time scale just 8-6 yet again the funny thing was the courier was familiar with Tutti Bambini and actually said he had collected several returns for the company from unhappy customers and that in his words they were useless...says it all really.
Its now 7 days later and we have not been refunded our money, despite the fact they rceived the goods back last week, they actually refuse to give us a refund and have come up with excuses such as ' the warehouse team will inspect the goods and request a repayment from accounts payable who need to see the inspection report to Bambino Direct who you ordered through' .
I have worked with accounts payable teams and they are merely a finance team who can request refunds or payments at any time with authorisation since whn do warehouse staff liase with them and why would accounts payable need to see an inspection report, do they make furniture as well?! A bunch of cowboys!
I was continously fobbed off with excuses about their policy and procedure before refunding, but I am nearly £300 out of pocket with no cotbed for my daughter and unable to purchase one until my money is refunded and there is no indication of when this will be. However the woman at tutti Bambini did get very jumpy when I mentioned the bad reviews online about this company and how I was willing to contact Trading Standards about them, something tells me they have had this done several times before.
An awful company who I would warn everyone never to use, just look on the many complaints forums about this company before purchasing I wish I did!
Agree completely. NEVER EVER USE BAMBINO DIRECT. In our case they have shows zero care for our children's safety after selling a faulty trampoline. They will not refund or swap it regardless of a very clear faulty on arrival. WORST ONLINE COMPANY GOING AROUND.

Totally agree with the views on this complaint.
We are experiencing a similar scenario with bunch. They delivered possibly the most awful piece of damaged furniture I've ever seen. The box in which it arrived was intact so that means that either the item was damaged beforehand but still sent or it was ex-display.
The response was rude and evasive - these guys are to be avoided.
The more we look into them (I wish we had beforehand) the worse it looks, they have so many complaints. These guys basically want to scam as many people as they can and seem to be preying on expectant mothers - something needs to be done! Like the original author we have no intention of allowing them to get away with this.
If you've had a similar experience, we'd love to hear from you are we are going to trading standards - these guys need to be stopped from causing havoc with peoples lives, when they are at their most vulnerable.

Britax Baby Car Seat
I ordered a Britax Evolva 123 Plus car seat from this company on 10/12/10 for a Christmas Present. It was not delivered until 23/12/10. I had to Christmas wrap the seat without unpacking it. When it was unboxed for fitting on 1/1/11 it was found to be damaged. I telephoned bambinodirect on 2/1/11 but there was no reply. I then telephoned again on 4/1/11 and also emailed only to be told I was out of the 7 day limit for returning this item unless I paid the full return costs. There were only 6 working days (due to the Christmas bank holidays between me taking delivery and reporting the damage but they wouldn't budge. Then once the seat was returned I was told a replacement would be sent but the seat was now discontinued. I asked for a full refund but they refused. I had to threaten solicitors to get my money back. This has actual cost me £21.65 for absolutely nothing but hassle and no car seat.
I would not recommend using this company under any circumstances

We ordered an item from Bambino Direct (bambinodirect.co.uk) which said was in stock and would be next day delivery. The money was taken from our card yet 7 days later we had no item delivered and our order still showed as proccessing.
They ignored our several emails and could more often than not get through to them by phone. They would either not answer or hang up so finally managed to cancel the order but are still waiting for our refund days later with no reply from them.
This company (bambinodirect.co.uk) are scammers with Google showing over 41, 000 matches for "bambino direct complaints" . We only wish we checked BambinoDirect out more before making our order.
The whois on bambinodirect.co.uk does not match the company details either which is another worry. They claim on there site to be a Ltd company (Bambino Direct Ltd) yet the whois states a sole trader:

I have the same story about Bambino Direct Ltd. We did not receive our order over 2 weeks. Our emails are ignored, calls leaves without answer. DO NOT buy from Bambino Direct Ltd!
Awful company
Dear All - If you are reading this you have asked for a review of Bambinodirect.com I have made every effort to blog this as many times as possible and have sent it to every review center available.
Simply put do not use this company. I ordered a product online that stated it was in stock. I entered my details and concluded the deal, two Days later I received a blank email with an attachment stating "Advise for refund". A gentleman called Paul left a message on my phone saying they were unable to process my payment from the card company. I contacted the card company and the payment had been fully approved. I tried to contact the company over 20 times but nobody answered the phone, after this I emailed...and I emailed...and I emailed...nothing! It has now taken me over two weeks to get my money back from the credit card company and I'm still without a buggy! It turns out that they don't have the stock so blamed it on my card company instead of just telling the truth. Since this initial transaction I have read many similar stories so please please save yourself the trouble and deal with other more reputable suppliers as this lot are a total waste of time. Hi everyone, looking at all these complaints and wondering that the same story is repetitive.
The same story happend to me few days ago which left me absolutely ungry about the way they handle calls, emails, etc
I have purchased a pushchair for £480 which was in stock day one finding out after calling that its not in stock and it wont be, I have been offered another color or a diffrent brand..
I beleive this is the way this company do business, you will buy your items on line then you will find out that your items are not in stock then they will offer you another color item or diffrent brand and beleive me that 1 out of 5 customers will take their offer under pressure so guess what who is the winner, Bambino direct!
I have contacted the manufacturer of the puchair to complain that they should'nt stock with this company, I called trading standards but unfortunately it is too early to complain and contacted watchdog and hopefuly there is some help
if you all beleive that there is some justice we should all get together and submit a complaint to trading standards and hopefuly put this company out of business.

MY WORST EXPERIENCE ALSO!
As a new father I tried to do my bit, arranging everything we needed once we had chosen what to buy. I came across Bambino Direct and their prices were competitive, their web site did not suggest anything was out of stock so I ordered over £600 worth of stuff. That’s when it all went wrong, buggy and high chair quick to arrive, but much needed rain cover for our phil and Ted’s sport never arrived. Many telephone calls and emails just resulted in apologies and empty promises on their behalf. I ended up being caught out in the rain trying to get our little one off to sleep and had to resort to removing my coat and getting drenched to try and keep buggy and baby dry. There are obviously much more in depth details to this unfortunate experience but needless to say for me it spoilt what should have been one of the happiest occasions in my life, just bringing me stress and hassle with their incompetence. My only advice would be to shop elsewhere and save yourselves the stress and heartache this company is likely to bring you.
Nightmare
Bambino Direct... should be called Nightmare Direct! Last month I was after 2 Recaro Young Sport child seats. Did some searching on the net and found them at Bambino Direct 50 quid each cheaper than anywhere else... thought what a bargain so ordered them. Next day they sent me an email saying that the colour I wanted was not in stock (despite the fact it said it was at the time of ordering). They said that they had all the other colours and could dispatch the next day but if I wanted the colour I ordered then it would be 10 days before they would have them in stock. I emailed them back and said I was prepared to wait as long as it didn't take much longer as my daughter was starting to grow out of her carry cot. i told them that they must not charge my card until they were in a position to dispatch the goods. Low and behold 2 days later they charged my credit card. I tried to contact them but they would never pick up. Finally when I did get thru and said I wasn't happy that they had taken the money they said it must have been a mistake and that never usually happens.. billy liars! I asked to speak to the manager, guy named Paul but surprise surprise he wasn't in the office... probably hiding from disgruntled customers. A few days later I called back to track the order only to be told that the Recaro Young Expert were out of stock. I said "no I ordered young sport" and was told that my order was for young expert. The girl was so adament that I sent her the order confirmation which clearly said that I had ordered young sport. She said that they had that model in stock and that they would dispatch it the next day. Next day came and when I called them to make sure my order had been dispatched they told me that the items were not in stock, never were and never would be. I was seething especially when they had taken 200 quid from my credit card. I asked them to re-credit my card and I kept checking my account and it hadn't gone back on. The last time I spoke to them they told me that it had gone back on the card on Feb 27th but to this day it has still not gone back on. I ended up going to my local Halfords, paid a bit more for the seats but they were fitted properly for me and the service was excellent.. sometimes it pays to spend a bit more and not have the hassle. The good thing about this whole sorry saga is that I paid by Mastercard. I have contacted them and they have told me that I am protected this way. They will reverse the charge so I will get my money back and Bambino Direct will be charged a fee. My advice to anyone out there DON'T BUY FROM BAMBINO DIRECT.. it has been a shambolic, rubbish service from the start and I wouldn't by a bib from them!

Absolute scammers
I purchased a quinny from there website on a friday. I emailed them to ask which day i would recieve it as it was next working day delivery. They said Tuesday. On monday i got home from work and there was an email saying they had cancelled my order as it wasnt in stock (there website is still saying it is in stock) and they would refund me.. even though when i purchased it, they said that no money would be taken until they dispatched my items.
I then searched for reviews on them and found hundreds of people complaining with similar and much worse stories.
We called bambinodirect up and they kept hanging up on us, when we persisted they finally spoke to us, and told us that the reason theyre 'in stock' is they are getting some more in soon... When we threatened trading standards, they quickly backtracked and told us that the email stating it had been cancelled was a mistake and our items would be with us in the next couple of days., We said we were not interested and got them to email us a returns invoice.
About an hour later, a van pulls up outside with a package for us. After looking in the van for 20 mins he comes back and says that although our name is on the list, there is nothing in there for us!
We rang our bank and they said that the payment hadnt been processed fully yet so if bambino direct had set a refund up, it would just cancel out and the money would never be taken. Today i check and the money has been taken!

Strange to see so many disappointed Bambinodirect customers.
Bought a car seat from and it was delivered to its destination (Denmark) in promised time and the car seat i working fine.
No problems here, allthough I was a bit scared from their rules that they don't want to have anything to do with the package once it leaves the UK. But I was in a hurry and wouldn't waste time googleing for another dealer, so I ordered it and hoped for the best...
So in this case... a good price, working service, working product.
