Got a new furnace from B
Got a new furnace from B.C. Furnace & Air Conditioning Ltd. on November 22. My old forced air gas furnace stopped working, so I needed a replacement. The new furnace is a one stage fan furnace, but it's not very strong. My floor is still cold, but my roof is warm. I talked to the salesman twice about my concerns, like the cold floor, and he suggested turning on a fan. I wish I had a forced air gas furnace instead. Overall, the service was okay.

I had my fireplace serviced in Oct 20, but in Jan 2021 it started shutting off by itself. A service tech came on Jan 19 and inspected it, which cost me $187. He said I needed to replace the gas control valve, which I did on Mar 11 for $744.36. Unfortunately, the problem wasn't resolved. On Mar 19, the service tech installed a switch below the grate and told me to flick it when the fireplace goes off by itself. I did as instructed and it worked, but they said they needed to replace the thermostat and ordered the part. However, weeks went by without hearing from them, and when I called, they said there was no part and they had done all they could. I asked for a refund of the $744.36, but I haven't heard back from the manager since I requested a call on June 25.

I called B.C. Furnace & Air Conditioning Ltd. at around 7:30am because my furnace was having trouble lighting. They said a tech could come between 12:30-1:30pm, but they didn't show up until almost 3pm. The tech looked at my furnace, which was only 14 months old and still under warranty, and said the burners were dirty and plugged. He cleaned them and replaced the ignitor, but the furnace still had problems lighting. He couldn't find the source of the trouble and said he had to call the factory, which wasn't open until Tuesday. He charged me $280 and said the warranty didn't cover anything. The next day, the furnace locked itself off with a red light. I called B.C. Furnace again, but they said they couldn't do anything until Tuesday. I waited until noon on Tuesday without hearing from them, so I called back several times in the afternoon. They said they had to talk to the tech and didn't give me any updates. I told them I wanted a refund and to find someone else who could fix it. They said they fixed it, but I disagreed. They called me back at the end of the day and said the tech had talked to the factory and could come out and fix it for an additional service charge. I declined and called another company who fixed it under warranty.
