Order a blazer from this company. I wear an odd size and this company happened to carry it. The blazer arrived and is of good quality. It is a bit big and I wanted to exchange it for the next size down. I should have been suspicious since there is no exchange policy or instructions listed on the website. I left messages on both listed telephone numbers and also sent an email - over a week with no response. I just decided to keep the blazer and have it tailored.

Order not received/company scamming
Company is a scam. I placed an order on November 11th for $229.14. On November 18th I was sent a tracking that says waiting on order details so I waited. Today November 27th I got another email stating I have a different tracking number of which states the same thing waiting on order details. Why do this to hard working people especially during the holiday season. You people are awful. Do not buy anything from this company.

I ordered 6 different items of which 2 were 4x and 5 are completely perfect. One sweater is labeled 4x but it is completely too small. When I reached out to the company I was told I needed to pay shipping on a mistake that I didn't make and they would send me a replacement. Wait the sweater is labeled 4x, and I need a 4x so why would I want a replacement.

Ordered a pair of pants on Aug 4th. It's the 17th, have not even received anything of shipping or such. Just a confirmation. I have emailed 3 times now with no response. There has been no contact. I am needing a pair of work pants and ordered them in plenty of time to have them by now. Had I read the reviews of the company on this website I would have not preceeded any farther. This is ridiculous customer service if it says they have been in business since 1946 or whatever they say. Poor service

My order was not delivered in full
Hi I had order 0003964. I ordered 24 pairs of socks. I received only 11 of them. After some long time representing tell me that five pairs Ste not in stock and I got refund fir them of 64 $ ,but I never receive the rest of my order of 8 more pairs or some refund for them. I try to contact with company , but got no response This when silent. It was very difficult to communicate in the first place. I tell them that I will be deployed over see and really need my order. No reply. No socks no refund for the rest of 8 pairs. Very bad costumer service. I pay 238 $ for my order received 64 $ back for 5 pairs And received only 11 pairs for 174 $. This is ridiculous prices for 11 pairs. I think that I got scam Like I said there are no response from you.

Money taken, no goods sent
On 30 October 2014 I ordered a pair of trousers (pants) from this company. £75.21 ($120) was taken out of my bank account the next day to pay for the goods and postage. It is now 1 Feb and the goods have still not arrived. Because I live in the UK phoning is not practical. I've therefore used the e.mail address on their website ([protected]@aol.com) to enquire where my goods are. I've e.mailed 3 times since December and not once have I had a reply. I can only conclude that this company is a front for online fraud (or that there are some criminals working for the company). I've now sent the local Police force a tweet asking for their e.mail address so I can formally report this as a crime. I suggest others also contact them (@framinghamPD).
Bad Service/Refund process
I had ordered some items from the store. What was pictured was not what I received. I called for a return authorization and shipped back at my expense. I waited two months for my refund before I started calling. I could never reach them on the phone. The line would just ring and ring and ring until it was terminated. When I did finally reach someone she said that she was sorry and that some how my transaction was missed during the refunds. She said it would be three business days which I waited. I then waited an additional week. Finally I contacted my bank and filed a dispute. The refunded my money. Two months later (four total) they finally refunded my order minus what I paid for shipping and handling and then called my bank and had them reverse the charges. Totally crappy place. You won't be able to reach them. Don't even bother. Total rip off.!

Incomplete Delivery
This company moved to Worcestor Road, from 59 Temple Place, Boston. Same phone number. I have purchased from them since 2008. Recent purchase has been first bad experience. Used to be great when a friendly older lady answered the phone way back, and I got results.
Now, with each call, I get very young women, different voices. One named Katy has given me the run-around for two months now. After initial complaint, they don't answer the phone when you call back, even after 40 rings, three days in a row. They are probably blocking your phone number when you make a complaint. Also, will not return email. You will get ripped off. Buyer beware. Wrong merchandise and missing items. I ordered 12 and got 10, one of them the wrong color. Did ownership change or did the kids take over for the older folks and don't have a clue how to run this business. Or, is this a takeover company now? Something has changed for the worse.
UPDATE FROM baby45 - my initial complaint here posted 3-30-12 about Big Tall Men INCOMPLETE ORDER. After posting my complaint here on 3-30-12, out of the blue 4 weeks later, with no notice from Big Tall Men, I received from them my missing items they never sent me. Now my order is finally complete after 3 months from initial order placement with them. Although, missing front pocket on this tee. They did not ask for me to send back the wrong color tee they sent me by mistake in the original shipment so I figure we are even and I forgive them. Maybe they are trying to fix things and are overwhelmed and have personnel issues, don't know, but I thought I should be fair and at least post this update that they finally sent the rest of my order. I'd say, send an email. At least they can print it out and place it in a stack whereas taking a ton of phone calls is more overwhelming for few staff which may be the problem.
Original order took over two months and many phone calls to be delivered. Product was not what I had ordered, so I returned it via registered mail. Company has denied receiving the returned goods and refused to refund my money. I have verified delivery with the postal service through a trace, and complained to the Better Business Bureau. They have refused to respond to the Better Business Bureau.
I agree. They used to be a good company to deal with, but that is no longer the case. The above blog sounds exactly like the unfortunate experience I had. I bought goods in good faith, returned by FedEx those items of my order which didn't fit, in pristine condition and within the time period stipulated for returns and after almost 5 months I am still waiting for my refund, which I am persistently following up! Calls to tallbig largely go unanswered (the phone rings out - unbelieveable) and then when you do get through you get put on hold forever, are messed around and are then hung up upon (by these glib young women). No point emailing your complaints or questions to this company, as your email will never be answered, if my experience is anything to judge by. I placed an order with them on Jan. 26th 2012, they immediatly took the money out of my account. After 2 weeks of no notice of when the item was sent out, or the item, I sent them an email. They replied saying that it would take 4 to 10 business days to recieve the item after order was placed, at this point it was already 14! After 9 EMAILS and SEVERAL phone calls that resulted in either no reply or one excuse after another, I gave up. Now Im telling everyone who will listen and making complaints on the interent every where I can! This company needs to be shut down!

Incomplete Order - No Customer Service
Similar to a previous complaint for the same company. The following occurred:
1. Placed order
2. Received confirmation - No further information.
3. Emailed after two weeks - no response
4. Called after three weeks - was promised a return call - never happened.
5. Card was charged for full order.
6. Incomplete order was received after about 5 weeks.
7. No communication when/if missing items would be shipped.
8. When I reached them by phone all the computers were down and they couldn't look anything up and they promised to call me back.
9. I am still owed about $100.00 of product on my original order.
Their products if or when they arrive tend to be pretty good. The service is extremely disappointing.

It has been a month since I placed my order for a winter coat. Still no information or tracking. They keep telling me the manufacturer is sending it to them. They don't answer e-mails and waste your time on the phone (if they ever answer). I'm done dealing with these people! I'm calling my credit card company and getting a refund. :( Bad business practices. Shame on them.
I also placed an order with this company and had similar results. I purchased a robe and paid extra for express delivery. The robe was here as ordered but was NOT what I ordered. I got the same response as the other writer -the first time I called I was told be call and talk to Bob and all would be cleared up. Bob never called me, I called 20 times and no one ever picked up, then sent 4 e-mails that went unaswered. Sent the robe back and ordered from another company. I waited for the 30 days that they state on the webside that it takes to get a refund - after waiting 2 1/2 months with not refund, I called the credit card company and had the charges reversed. My husband mailed the robe back and thought to have it sent in a way that the person receiving the robe had to sign for it. We had proof that it was returned and got our money back. Have since read serveral reviews and consider myself lucky that we got out money back. The clothes are not priced cheap but the robe was cheap quailty and very poor service. Stay clear of this retailer.
Order not fulfilled
On April 2008 I ordered 5 items at Big Men, Tall Men, Stout Men Shop. The order was confirmed on April 20, 2008, and my credit card was charged. After a month or so I recived a package containing 4 of that items, together with an invoice No. 65511, dated May 15, 2008. There was a remark on the invoice: "... cardigan in navy will be shipped shortly...". I haven't got it until now, May 13, 2010. On June 23, 2008 I sent them a mail with complaint. No response I'd got. On August 08, 2008, I had a nice phone chat with a gentle lady. She promised she would give me a message concerning my order on Monday. Unfortunatelly she didn't say which Monday she meant. Numbers of Mondays have passed with no single word. They still keep my 125 $. Obviously I lost any hope. Obviously I warn everyone. I will never visit that web site again. Not to say the items they delivered were not following my order. E.g. a 100% merino wool sweter turned to acrylic one during the overseas travel. Pants 38 inseam shrinked to 36.

Refund not rec'd
I purchased two shirts for my husband, identical dress shirts, just different colors. one fit and one didn't. I sent the one back that didn't fit. I purchased them for Christmas, sent them back in January. Now it is been 2 months later and I haven't received the 45.00 dollars back for the shirt or a new shirt. I have contacted them many times and they never get back to me. They have very poort customer service.

My sister-in-law ordered over $580 worth of items from these clowns and has yet to receive anything. She lives in Ireland so I have tried to call them as I live in NJ to no avail. Either I am told that no one is there who can help me call back later or no answer at all. I have contacted the Mass AG and filed a complaint and the BBB. Do Not Buy from these people.
Scam
Initially I ordered one pair of EZSizer slacks, they shipped to me and they were the wrong style so I returned them (to this day I have still not received the replacement). Then I ordered two additional pair of slacks, these shipped and I received them. However, they recharged my Credit card for all three pair of EZSizer slacks and I had to go through my credit card (Dispute) to get the duplicate money paid returned. They Still they haven't shipped the first pair of slacks I returned and all my Email and phone calls are being ignored. I've asked them to refund the money, but they're ignoring me so I guess I'm out $84.95.

I ordered a pair of insulated Bibbs on Sunday online. Monday I called and after numerous attempts to get someone, they said its been shipped out already. I paid extra for the three day delivery. On the day it was supposed to arrive, I got a box with my address but with a woman's name on it from Texas. The box weighed one tenth of a pound. Knew right away that it wasn't my Bibbs. Tried calling them for hours. Never reached anyone. I checked my credit card and it was not charged yet. I called my card and had them close the account and open it in a new account number. Making the old one useless. They ship by ups and fed ex. I called both and they said there's nothing scheduled to be delivered to my address. I emailed these people and told them about the box. They actually replied back and said it wasn't from them. I told them nice try and that credit card number is no good, have a nice day. BBB has numerous complaints that you can read on their website. Do yourself a favor, don't do business with these people.

I ordered a pair of insulated bibs on January 22 2014, I was told it would be about 1 week to get them, now its 2 weeks and still no bibs, they won't answer their phone or emails. I just want my refund.
I ordered shirts from them since i live in NJ. The shirts came 2 days later. I then ordered more shirts and for 3 weeks heard nothing. They finally sent one with a letter saying the other one would follow. I tried calling the store for a week straight at least 15 times a day and no one answered. Im now heading to boston to visit family so figured i would stop by. I call twice no answer. I call from my fiances phone right after and a woman answered. I explained the situation and told her that i had even written an email. She got extremely loud with me kept talking over me and wouldnt let me say anything. I finally said are you gonna stop talking over me? She yes and continued to do so then said i also got your email and dont care about your complaints and hung up. I had to have my brother call back and got some guy who said he doesnt know who that woman is and just said come in and ill help you. Im going in to get the shirt i paid for and never doing business with them again. I spend over 10k a year on clothes at stores like this and was considering spending it there. Well not anymore. Im taking to FB, twitter, youtube, BBB and their local news paper. It is now my mission to ruin their business.

BIGMEN.COM is the WORST ! I returned two pairs of pants, which I sent by certified mail & they received my package on 08/04/09... I sent two emails in September and NO RESPONSE! I called them on 09/30/09 - and a woman said I would expect my refund in a few days... I called back on 10/20/09 and "Joe" told me that my refund was going through the channels and I would recieve it shortly... I asked him what channel was it up to becasue the last time I called a woman told me I would get my refund in a few days.. he was not helpful and I wanted to go through the phone! .. So I gave them a few days... still nothing... SO now starting this monday- 11/02/09--- I am going to call them every single day and I have no problem using foul language... I am so sick of this company... They owe me about $150.

Order took way too long
I ordered 3 pants on March 7, 2008.
On March 17, 2008 my Visa bank card was charged for the order.
On March 24, 2008 I started making phone calls to find out where my order was.
I made several phone calls and was given many excuses but no pants.
Finally, I received one of the pants on April 23, 2008 with hand written notes on the invoice stating that one of the pants would be drop shipped and the other would follow.
I called on April 25, 2008, and was told that the vendors would drop ship me the pants direct. I asked that that an email with the dates that I should expect the pants be sent to me and was told that an email would be sent. As of April 29, 2008, no email has been received.
I called on April 29, 2008, in the morning, and was told that all the customer service people were in the warehouse and please call back after 1 p.m.
I called after 1 p.m. and talked with Paul. I was put on hold for several minutes and when he returned he told me that the vendor was sending the pants in two separate shipments. I should receive one today or tomorrow and the other in 3 to 5 days.
On May 1, 2008 another pair of pants shows up. I'm still waiting for the third pair.
I called on May 7, 2008 at 9 am and talked with Gary. After being on hold for several minutes he returned to tell me that I should get the pants by Friday or Monday.
On Monday, May 12, 2008, I finally received the last pair of pants.

I ordered boots for my husband two weeks ago and never got a tracking number via email. I have called and when I wasn't on hold or just got a busy signal I have talked to the same woman repeatedly. She was very very rude hung up on me and made many excuses as to why my husbands boots haven't been shipped out. If I don't receive my order soon I will be filing a claim. This company is very rude and don't know how they have stayed in business since 1946. Customer Service is horrible how can you treat people bad and expect to stay in business. Please look at reviews before ordering. Never order on a whim. This company hopefully will close.
Maybe the reason why it took you so long to receive the pants was because your awfully big in size! You don't expect the pants to come when you want it, on time, when it takes a long time to customly MAKE the pants for you so it would fit.
Failure to deliver purchased items
Complaint on: www.BigMen.com for failure to deliver purchased items. Furthermore, I wish to lodge a complaint to include a non-responsive customer service center after my inquiry was recorded. My request for merchandise or credit has gone unanswered. Below please find a copy of the recent email I sent to Stout’s Big and Tall.
I paid for 12 items on my visa and received less than half of the items. I have received 5 of 12 items. The original purchase was made, via phone order, on April 10, 2007, so plenty of time has transpired and been afforded to Stout’s Men Shop (a.k.a BIG MEN TALL MEN or TALLBIG AT AOL.com ) to send my merchandise or issue a credit to our account. I have the distinct feeling, they do not want to do either.

On 04/12/07, I received only a portion of the merchandise I paid for. On the invoice, it states there are, “items to follow”. I have waited quite some time and wonder how long I must wait to get my remaining garments. If they are not available, a credit for the balance needs to be put back on toward my account. There is $374.50 in garments due me. Please forward the items to my address or issue a credit back to my card for the amount.
I just recently had an awful experience with them also. The sales person told me the suit was in-stock and it was going to be shipped out to me the same day. Made many attempt to call the company and was told the item was shipped. They kept telling me lies about the item and I did not receive the suit unit two weeks later. I needed the suit for an interview and it did not get to me on time.
The sales team and the manger were rude and I was hung up on by the manger because I complaint about the lies I was told. Great customer service! Beware of this store. That's all I have to say!
Oh PULEASE! Brenda is obviously a shill! These people are the worse I have EVER dealt with and I have bought large clothes for years from all over the country. Brenda sounds an awful lot like another poster of anotehr name in anotehr comment right here in this site regarding these very same people.

I totally disagree with the people above me because I have ordered many times from BigMen.com and I receive my items on time everytime. I think the reason why sometimes people do not receive their items is because it is hard and it takes a lot of time to make and outfit clothes for the "big" and tall people. BigMen is not like macys--you don't get it right away. Since the people that ordered from there are not regular sized people, you cannot expect to wait a regular amount of time to get your goods. Helping you guys find clothes that would fit are hard, so you guys must understand that.
And please don't disrespect or "trash talk" the workers there; I find them as the nicest people I know. Just because you can't find clothes that could fit you in a regular store doesn't mean you should put your anger on them. In fact, I had done some research too, and they HAVE been in business for 60 something years.
Also, to the person above me, called "Sean", please check your spelling. You made a ton of errors and it is hard to understand you. Maybe the reason why you haven't received your goods is because they can't even understand what you want!
I totally agree. I purchased item form these guys and after amonths was not even posted. They asured me the pckage with items was sent weeks prior and they had a copy of the customs declatration as the items are being sent to me outside the USA and would fax the form to me. Weeks go bye and lies, lies and more lies. I was told they had lost power and the power outage has blown the fax mchine up and they were awaiting a new machine. Now they just hang up once i say what i want.
I am fortunate though, in Europe the Credit Card companies give benefit of any doubt to there customers when the merchant account is not helpful in resolving a dispute. So the amount has been charged back to my card, card cancelled and a new one issued. The tracking info they supplied when checked online indicated there is somehting currently in transit but who knows with these guys. Thay talk so many lies you never know. It the order arrives i will return it t them with fedex or the most expensive courier i can find and have it charged to the receiver being bigmen.com.
During my search int this business and more avenues of contacting them i was able to find that early in 2007 the business was involuntarily dissolved by court order. The owner also has an extensive criminal record and the business has changed address more then 7 times since it was first started in 2000. It has not been operating for 62 years as they like to tell everyone.
When you call you will sometimes get a tounger guy answer the phone, he is th son, Charles or CHuch is the Owner and his wife Joni will give you ome dumb story about ordering an supplier delays, Joanne or Ms Green is the so called customer service person, not sure where she its into it, but she is completely useless, rude and has no idea what is going on. probably the sons girlfriend or the owners bit on the ide when the wife has aheadache or the dog can't be bothered with her.
My experience with this company has been a nightmare!
I placed an on line order for hickory striped overalls with bigmen.com, Big Men's, Stout Men's shop in Boston Massachusetts In July of 2006. They no longer carried the item I desired in my size. Even though they had my email address, home telephone number and address, they did not contact me or advise me of the situation. Instead they decided of their own accord to make a substitution with an item I did not order and did not want. It took three phone calls to get return authorization. They signed as having received the returned package on August 28th, 2006. To date (October 24th, 2006) I have not received a credit or refund for this transaction despite repeated calls to the company. I have had several conversations with "Bob", who is rude and caustic, and whose advice is to just keep calling until I can reach Mrs. Green. Mrs. Green is never in, and I am beginning to doubt her existence since she never returns calls and is never at her desk or even in the building.
My experience with this company has been a nightmare, and I want nothing more than to get my money back and be quit of them forever. Can anyone help?
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY... SCAM. Received gift certificate from sister for Bigmen.com. Went online to order a pair of shoes. Online site has NO option for gift certificates. Called and got no answer many many times. Finally got through and ordered a pair of shoes with gift certificate and needed to use my credit card for the shipping. Sever weeks went by with no email confirming order. Called again many many times, finally got customer service to answer. Says they are having trouble ordering from manufacturer. Called again, and once again, had trouble getting them to answer the phone... they said had a death in the business. Yea right. Sister got through to them to cancel the gift cert. and get a refund. They said they would cancel with a refund... she has yet to receive said refund. I called 35 times yesterday to get my shipping cost refunded... they will NOT answer the phone. I think this ;company' is operating out somebody garage with no inventory. I'm probably out of my shipping and hold little hope of my sister's $100 refund. I think they are thieves.

Do not waste your money. They never send the clothing and then tell you they will refund the money. Well, its been a year and still no refund. And better yet, they've stopped responding to my concerns. Save your money these guys are a scam
Wished I would have read the comments before I ordered from them. At first when I called about my order they said that they ran out of his size and it is on back order. The next time they said they would ship them out within the week. Now they won't answer my calls and I can't contact them at all. Hate to say that my money is gone but looks like I bought into their scam. Can't anyone put a stop to them!
I placed an order on the 29 of january and have gotten no feedback since. When I try to call the numbers on the website I always get a busy signal. For those who have had good experiences please help.
I have the same experience, made an big order and got a mail same day that they soon will ship my order. 2 weeks went and itried to contact them on mail and phone. No answer. Now i got my creditcardbill but no clothes. WATCH OUT TEY ARE THIEVES
Same here, placed a big order, and then no feedback. they took my money but refused to reply to any of my email. none of their phone numbers work.

This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I orderd a robe for my husband and like many others on this site I received a robe but it was NOT the one that I ordered. The sleeves were short and the quality was poor. I tried to call and got someone on the phone who stated that he was just there cleaning and I needed to call back and talke to "Bob". I called numerus time, sent several e-mails and no response. I sent the robe back and never received a refund. After waiting 3 months, I attempted to reach the retailor again with no response. Next I called the credit card company and had the charges reversed. I have a signed reciept of someone at the store receiving the package so the credit card company returned my money. The retailor had a chance to appeal the decision but had not ground to stand on.
Find it hard to believe that anyone had a postive experience with this retailor. If there is anything to say that is postive it would be that the item that they sent did come in a timely manner; would have been nice to get my refund in a timely manner.
Best big and tall I have dealt with for selction and quality.I found the people more than helpful. I couldn't disagree more with the above complainer. You know I have been in customer service for about 20 years and you just can't please every body. This is my sixth order with bigmen.com and I have been most pleased with the service. I am always last minute and they always accommodate my fast shipping. This past order was a suit and a sportcoat which I needed to be delivered to me in three days as I was off to Europe on business and needed them altered. They arrived in two days and they hit the size on the nose for me. Their web page says they have been in business since 1946. No One lasts that long if they are not doing something right> We heavy folks are hard to fit . I don't envy them with all the sizes and shapes they have to deal with. I just wanted to write my opinion of what I believe to be a wonderful relationship with these folks. They have my business for as long as I stay fat.
my husband was in a boston hospital for 7 days and i could not get him fitted. the gentlemen from bigmen.com was kind enough to come after work to measure my husband for sweats, snekers etc for rehab. he did it on his own time. they are wonderful people. when i offered him some additional compensation he refused stating it was his pleasure to help us out under the circumstances. they are a wonderful and thoughtful company to deal with. my thanks to all of them. they could not be more accomodating!
I suspect the two positive comments above are shills as I have had the WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER with them and after looking deeper have found this to be typical of them as far back as 2004!
People like these are the reason the economy sucks. Better to wear potato sacks than to trust these folks with your money.
