My mom received a pre paid gift card from an out of state family member to help during the loss of my brother. We tried using the gift card while making service arrangements and it didnt work. I told her I would look into it and the customer service has told me the card is not activated. I was told that the original purchaser would have to go back to the store where it was purchased to have it activated.
Now, last year I went through this exact same thing with another pre paid gift card AND I went back to the store where it was purchased with receipt in hand and they told me they were not able to do anything that I had to call the number on the card. This card was purchased in a different state, I can't even go and do that. I'm not going to ask my elderly family member to do that either just to get the run around.
It took me 4 months of disputing the last gift card before being issued a new one. My family shouldn't have had to deal with this during this difficult time. I will advise everyone to NEVER purchase these pre paid gift cards again.
Desired outcome: I want the card activated or to be reissued.
