Accepted a “free” vacation to Pigeon Forge while shopping in Bass Pro shop last year. The young lady selling said her parents do this every 15 months (this will be important later) and just take advantage of the get away. My husband and I figured we were going to go for a weekend anyway so we may as well take advantage of getting 4 days/3 nights for just over $100. Arrived for our presentation and was treated very well and made comfortable so I knew I had been told I was only required to listen to them for 2 hours and I would be “free to leave no questions asked”; not even close. After the presentation that was presented to a group of approximately 60 people we were broken up by family and assigned a person who would break down the financials and show us the properties. We started off the conversation with how pleased we were because we had attended presentations in the past for other companies that were very pushy and we hated that whole scenario. Again we were assured there would be zero pressure. When my husband had questions regarding maintenance fees and other fees that were above the monthly payment we were told our representative was new and would need to ask questions of someone who had been there longer, this is when it got hairy. The next guy comes over being very friendly and cordial so we were still thinking it won’t be bad but we could not have been more wrong. He started off by immediately lowering the price per point by almost $2 each, followed up by pretending that since we had signed up for the presentation last year (we only did this presentation July 2, 2022) that we qualified for a “special offer” giving us a beginning program of 5,000 point plan plus the Charter Membership that gave us a lot of extras; btw the Charter Membership is supposedly only for a 20,000 point membership but we were in a “select group” therefore allowing us this extra perk. Once we made it clear we were not interested and just wanted our promised gift for sitting through the presentation he leaned forward and whispered supposedly so no one else would hear the great offer he was about to present us with he again lowered the number of points to 4,000 points and we could still have the Charter Membership. Again we said no and just wanted our gift and to leave at which time he was supposed to be going to go get our exit package and we had already signed our paperwork that we were not buying anything which so what we had been told would be the final step). Within seconds of him walking away a lady from Germany came over to let us know that she was going to give us everything we had been promised plus 2 entire weeks to anywhere in the world without using points and we would be completely foolish to walk away because once we left the building 1. we could never get the same offer again as it was special for us and a one time offer and 2. if we turned it down we would never be allowed to return to another Bluegreen presentation because no one can attend more than one of them in their lifetime (remember I told you the sales lady at Bass Pro had told us her parents did these every 15 months!) We continued to say no at which time she said she would go retrieve our exit paperwork but returned within 30 seconds with what she felt like would be a great deal for us which included paying almost $3,000 and that would cover 24,000 points that could be used anywhere in the world for the next 2 years! Again we said no at which time she finally walked away for the last time and the original representative who’s been sitting there quietly the whole time spoke up and said we could follow him and he would take us to get the exit paperwork the other 2 people had promised to bring us. So not only wouldn’t they let us leave by badgering us to sign up for something we clearly didn’t want and held us there for not the 2 hours we agreed to but for 4 hours but they didn’t even go get the paperwork we had to sign to be able to leave! Folks never forget if it sounds too good to be true it is because we found out later that had we signed those papers even though they said we had 10 days by state law to rescind the purchase we would have been out thousands of dollars to get out of the contract and the better part if that we spoke to another couple who sat through the same presentation on the same day who made it extremely lear that they came just for the free-ish weekend and they were offered every single thing we were and none of it was a special thing they could offer us exclusively! The whole thing is a scam and a con so don’t fall for it!

Desired outcome: I just want people yo know yo do their research before going to one of the time share presentations
