damaged and missing
Complete bedroom set ordered which included, king mattress, box spring and frame, 1mens bureau, 1 womens dresser, 2 night stands and 2 lamps. The mattress was missing, the box spring had damaged corners before taking it off the truck, both dresser and bureau were severly damaged and not the right ones again prior to taking it off the truck, 2 lamps were missing and only 1 night stand arrived with scratches to the top. Receipt of purchase was in hand at time of delivery, delivery at this point was refused. Visited the store and got a complete refund with hassle. Not worth doing future business with them.

I was suppose to get a delivery on 3/6/2012 at 7am. At 7:30 got a call that delivery will come around 3pm. At 4:30 still not furniture. Was told it was last delivery of the day. I went from being 2nd to being last. At 8pm, still no furniture. Was told it was cancelled off truck at 5:30 pm. Went to store, spoke to manager, they arranged for deliver on 3/8/2012. At 7am truck arrives with half of my order missing! You have got to be kidding me right! refused and now want my $3200 back!

Mattress no longer has 4 square corners. The foam appears to have shrunk at the corners making it nearly impossible to keep a fitted sheet on it overnight. I would like a new queen sized Bob o pedic delivered to my house.

First they delivered the wrong items...then they were damaged...on the second delivery, the 3 delivery men stole over $5, 000 worth of gold out of a dresser drawer! most horrible choice of people to have represent your company. They didn't speak a lick of English...I left them alone for 1 minute and they robbed me blind! Bob's executives "sorry, but we are not responsible" not a care was given!

bed broke within a month
Dear fellow consumers,
After a long hunt for a bedroom set, my husband and i decided to go with bobs. We purchased the Jamestown set, because it looked the most sturdy of all the other sets (also the most expensive). I received my set at the end of Dec 2011. On Jan 18th, the slates going across the bed that holds up the mattress broke. The wood slates snapped down the middle. I called customer service (worst service ever) and was told that a service team will come on the 25th, a week later! Seriously, I don't understand how bobs is still in business. We had our bed for a month and the platform of the furniture broke. This is the quality of bobs, I would highly advise you not to buy from Bobs! You get what you pay for.

Don't waist your time and money making a purchase at the new Bob's Discount Furniture store in Hyattsville, MD. i attempted to purchase a TV console on 12/14/11. Since it wasn't in stock, I had to wait 2 weeks. I received a VM to pick it up within 3 days or it would be sent back to the warehouse. I thought WOW what a message . I went to the store to pick it up only to find out all the parts were not there. I complained to the manager about the rude message and the missing parts they agreed to have the item delivered in a week. I received another VM that it would be delivered but the time was cut off from the message. I called the store and was told between 1:30 and 4:30. i told them great because I had a morning appointment and they said no problem. Of course when I returned home at 1:00 yep another VM, they came at 11:30. After calling the store to complain about this mix-up, they said someone gave me the wrong delivery time. The earliest they could deliver now would be Wednesday. I had been inconvenienced enough and asked for a full refund. I've heard enough excuses about customer service training and gave them enough time to get it right. Go to a company that truly cares about the customer's experience.
First it took 2 and 1/2 hours to check out for a small chair. The computer keep going down. Second, they just called me with an automated call and stated that because of the storm that they would have to reschedule my delivery. That was fine, but I waited on hold for 25 minutes and them when the girl picked up she put me on hold agian for another 5 minutes. This chair is for an 80 year old woman moving into an assisted living faciltiy. They could not schedule the delivery until 3 days past the original date. This is past the move in date and this is the major piece of furniture in the room. Now I asked for a Supervisor and the girl put me on hold for another 10 minutes and them told me her supervisor was busy and could not talk to me. She also stated that if i wanted an earlier delivery that I would have to call the store. When I called the store I recieved another automated answering machine which took me right back to customer service and not the store. I accepted a Saturday delivery. I went to the web site and there is no place to lodge a compliant. Never shop there again! The saving are not worth it! I will pay more at Jordon's and get great service.
Ordered a living room set & tables from Bob's furniture in February. It is now April 22nd and still no furniture. My wife had to take off of work, only to be told that the tables were damaged. This after the week prior, they never even bothered showing up or letting us know that they wouldn't show. And if you talk to their "customer service", they are totally clueless and offer no help whatsoever. Never again.

The wife wanted a new bed frame, and had to have a sleigh bed, looked around and found one in bob's e-pit, she liked it, I liked it, and the price was right. ( how often does that happen ? ) it was a $299 bed in the e-pit for $199. ordered it on 01/04/12 and got banged for $60 for shipping and then tax so now i'm at $ 281 but they are coming from CT and putting it together . I get a call a few hrs later going over everything, e-pit policy oops policy and we get a delivery date of sat 01/14/12. I call up on wed morning 01/11/12 to add on the oops bs thing for another $43 just to play it safe. I get a call on 01/12/12 that my headboard is damaged and they can't deliver so they want my credit card info to give me a refund. Thank God ! ! bob's preaches how they don't bait and switch and put in hidden fees ! ! Or I would have thought this was a bait and switch scam. When I purchased the frame according to the B/S counter in the corner there were 11 and wouldn't you know, mine was the one that was damaged, so cause some gorilla in the warehouse allegedly damaged my head board, I have no bed, or I can get a full price one for $ 100 more. so $281+$43=$324 then another $100 for the regular full price sleigh bed frame $424 ! ! ! I must say, they were very friendly on the phone and very apologetic, but I would be too if I was trying to more then double the advertised price of a product . I understand the e-pit policy, "when they are gone they're gone", But if it's damaged don't advertise it, cause then it's nothing more then a bait and switch.

I don't think delivery men really tried to get furniture in apartment. I also don't understand why When I asked the same day for them to try to deliver again that I'm too same item back-ordered and i have to wait a month for it to be delivered again. horrible! I Ordered mercury sectional from Bobs Discount Furniture. Delivery was approx 2 weeks from date of purchase. They attempted to deliver today and stated they couldn't get it to fit. It didn't seem like they tried too hard to get it in. The other delivery guys were rushing to go while one delivery guy was trying to explain why it couldn't fit. They were asked if the light fixture were removed would it help, he said no. These guys also told my boyfriend that they didn't want to damage walls because it would come out of their check. This is understandable however i see now there was def enough room to get it in the area that they claimed it couldn't fit. I ended up having to cancel order. These guys didn't show us it couldn't fit just told us it couldn't fit after they put it back on truck. after measuring I thought it should fit. I called customer service and was told I was connected to delivery/ driver department. The rep stated delivery men usually right when can't fit. Which of course ran through my mind, thinking they should know what they are doing. Later I realized each part is standard size of sofa and sofas have been in the apartment before. I measured every possible way and have come to conclusion it can possibly fit. And to make things easier I can take door off and light fixture off. Delivery man did not take the feet off which I assume can come off and would help. Bottom line I don't feel like they tried. I called to see if it could be delivered again. Called today (1/10) which is the same day they "tried". And I was told the next date possible is 2/7, because it's on back order! One month from now. I asked what happened to the furniture they tried to deliver today. Rep stated she doesn't know. This is ridiculous. Why do I have to wait an additional month when I called sane day as delivery. How can it now be on back order when the same items are in your truck. You couldn't have possibly moved people up in waiting list by giving away my stuff and now putting me on the bottom of the list. Makes no sense.

terrible product
Hi I purchase a kids bedroom set about 6 months ago, I climbed on the bed to hang curtains on my son's bedroom one of the rails broke. I am not a big person I only weight 110 pounds, so I called the customer service number and they said they coudn't help me because we have tried to fix it . so I tried to buy the rail on my own and they said I have to buy both rails, my advice to all of you is DO NOT buy anything from bobs furniture because the quality of the product is very bad. My sister purchase a boys bedroom set also and the draws on the bottom of the bed came off. Yes the price of Bob furniture is very cheap but so is the quality. So save some money and buy somewhere else because in the long run you are going to spend a lot more . Very disappointed with Bobs furniture

I bought a leather sofa from Bob's a little less than 2 years for $600. It was of such a poor quality that it has started chipping off from everywhere. I had not bought the protection plan from them since i was not expecting it to go bad so soon but they refused to help me in any way.

Do not buy any furniture from this company. Discount means poor quality and they do not stand behind this poor quality. They also have the worst customer service. Customer Service is an oxymoron to Bob's. The recliner I bought sagged in the middle due to loose strings. The adjustment arm does not work and they refused to repair or replace this furniture. They said it was not a manufacturing defect. Caveat emptor to all who are thinking about buying from them. You are better off paying more for quality.
I remember looking for a new recliner at Bob's Discount Furniture and I am so glad I never bought anything from there after all the horror stories I have read and other stories I have heard in person.
I think a couple of things are important to keep in mind when shopping for new furniture. If it's a sofa or a chair, feel the material. If the material feels thin, it's going to wear down a lot quicker and probably get torn. If you are looking at a new recliner, test out the mechanism. If it feels flimsy, move onto another store.
I think there is another truth to keep in mind about furniture. It's been my observation that with furniture, you usually get what you pay for. That being said, if you come across a deal that seems too good to be true, it probably is. If the store is selling furniture for a disgustingly cheap price, question it because unless it's a special holiday discount sale, the quality will probably be a lot cheaper.

stole from my home
My wife and I decided to take the discount route since our lease is up in 1 year, and we plan to buy a home after our apartment, so essentially the furniture will only be of use to us for 1 year. The delivery men (3) came to our apartment and other than the initial greeting, did not speak in English, they communicated in Spanish the entire time. This has nothing to do with race, but when you have complete strangers in your home, it is an uneasy feeling to not understand what they are saying. My wife charges her cell phone on a end table next to where the sofa was delivered, it was there when the delivery men arrived, and gone when they left. The delivery was early in the morning, my wife was still in bed, there is no possible way she moved the phone, which she says is a fact, and I agree. Consequently, the delivery men stole her phone, which was a $500 device. Unfortunately, this happened right before my eyes, because I was in the room the entire time.
I immediately called Bob's Discount Furniture, only to find out that they contract the delivery service to a third part company. When I called the delivery person (I had is number in my caller ID), he denied any wrong doing. I called back a day later, and got an entirely different individual who has no knowledge of the delivery or the incident, yet it was a cell phone. When I call Bob's furniture, they say they will call back, but I have not heard back and it has been a day and half. The bottom line, their delivery person stole from my home.
The police appears to be my only option, which I will now pursue. BE WARNED, I cannot begin to explain how violating this feels, and my wife is devastated from the loss of irreplaceable pictures of our daughter that were lapsed since the last back up of the phone. Shame on this organization, you are rotten people.

Bob's Delivery men stole from my house too. Stole my Diamond engagement and wedding ring, gold earrings and my mother in-laws ring. They won't do anything about this. We got violated and nothing they can do.

poor manufacture
I purchased a living room set back in April 2008, since then we have notice a foul urine type ordor coming from the sofa's it's everywhere even in the wood under the fabric. What I learned was that most furniture is made with the chemical toxin "Formaldehyde" the stench is so aweful that I had to call the health department to have it tested. Bob's Furniture orders their furniture from a manufacturing company based out of Califorina called GSIS, I have never expierence something like this ever, I would advise everyone that if you're buying good looking furniture from a cheap company there's always a catch. Not to mention my bedroom set was also brought from Bob's and I decided to wipe the dust with the pledge furniture wipes and it took off the paint, this is not real furniture its basically garbage. They need to shut down these stores or look into another manufacture that knows how to to do business if they want to stay in business, because a happy customer always comes back.

I ordered a 5 piece bedroom set. The delivery men put it together outside on the concrete in front of my garbage can. They didn't even set them on the carboard boxes because they were trying to catch the garbage truck. As a result, 2 of the pieces were scraped and the varnish was removed. The chest of drawers had a front piece that popped off the track and didn't lay flush to the side. I ordered 3 new pieces and they sent the same delivery guys and the chest of drawers was mistakenly never put through so no chest of drawers. They gave me 5 minutes in a darkened hall to examine it. There were 2 cracked drawers. They took out 2 drawers from the old dresser to put in a new one and left bits of cracked plastic and screws on my hallway. I asked them to pick them up, but they left them there. I also asked them to pick up the trash they left strewn across my front lawn which they begrudgingly did. I was promised new delivery men and that the pieces would be inspected at the warehouse. Today, SAME delivery guys and they told me the pieces were never inspected. One man followed me to my bedroom where he began screaming at me about the chest of drawers. He told me, "All Bobs pieces are delivered this way. You're better off getting a tech out here to fix it." Then when they looked at the pieces he said they were both dented on the side and that he wasn't even going to bother taking them off the truck. He then took MY phone to call his supervisor, was on hold for 5-10 mins standing in my doorway. Finally I had to ask him to leave my house. Bobs customer service says there is nothing they can do to speed up delivery. They're going to send new pieces in another week. It has been over a month and I still don't have furniture. Customer service doesn't care and they won't "discuss compensation" until you take delivery. They tell me my refund will not include tax or delivery. YEAH RIGHT. This place is a rip off and they WILL deliver you damaged furniture. Do not expect anything else. They will send unprofessional delivery men who will yell at you, damage your furniture, destroy your home... Customer service will make your life a nightmare and make you wait 2 weeks for new pieces. DON'T BUY HERE! Spend the extra money and get a good furniture set.

Company misrepresented item with a better quality item in the store than what was received. I was overcharged in the store, and by taking advantage of the satisfaction guarantee, it has taken over a month after returning my mattress to receive my refund. When the refund DID come, it was $120 short. I have filed complaint with BBB.

I bought a bedroom set and had to wait 1 month because every piece is in stock except the mirror? U would think they would have as much mirrors as dressers but fine. I specify my condo only allows furniture deliveries during business hours mon-fri and their "state of the art" delivery system schedules me for a Saturday at 8am. I called to tell them it has to be mon-fri so the agent cancels my delivery. Whe she cancels delivery, the furniture set that was held in my name went back into inventory and got assigned to the next buyer waiting for the same set. Now I'm told I won't get delivery for another month! ###ing unbelievable these stupid ###s and their ### delivery system. Bob and all his idiots should be shot. My GF works for a tv station and we will be sending camera crew to the store I made my purchase and make these a-holes look stupid on tv.

I had to call them almost 2 weeks ago to schedule a delivery because they could not schedule it when I ordered a piece was on back order. Today I got a call from them to schedule the delivery. When I told woman I had already schedules it I was told that it was not in the computer and she could not schedule the day I was given?!? WTF Why did I waste my time to call them to have to reschedule to a date that is not as easy for me because someone does not know how to do there job now I also have to wait longer, though only by a week. Bad service! What they did to you is just wrong. They are supposed to give you at least a day of the week choice. Though I do agree that I doubt the news will help with this one because it is only an inconvenience and there is no loss to you or me but time

Don't buy ANYTHING from Bob's! My finance and I bought a couch from Bob's. Upon delivery the couch frame was broken in half, and they never delivered the rug we ordered. When we called customer service they had us on hold for 45 minutes or so! We hung up, and drove down to the store instead. Rather than refunding the rug, they charged us twice for it, and they took over three months to resolve this issue. ALSO They had another couch sent out to us, it has not even been a year and the entire couch is falling apart! It's not used heavily, so there is no reason for it to look the way it does! We had to fight with customer service to send out a technician to come look at our couch, and he said "well what do you expect, it's low quality furniture". Then he said there was nothing they could do and left. We called customer service again and they sent out ANOTHER technician. (Each time they sent someone to our home one of us would be inconvenienced to stay home from work, because the appointment times were not flexible) The new technician told corporate that there was nothing they could do, but this time they let us make a 'Re-selection". We spent 2 hours in the store trying to find something we liked, and had a hard time. Finally we picked something, and when they came to deliver it they couldn't get it in the house (even though the 1st couch was bigger?) We called customer service and asked to speak to the manager, because at this point we just wanted them to pick up the furniture we had from the 1st order, and issue a refund. The customer service manager was completely rude, and they refused to give us any refund. Plus, we only have 2 weeks to make a 'Re-selection' and we will have to settle and pay for something we don't even want in our home! Really upsetting situation. I will NEVER recommend Bob's Furniture to anyone! Don't go to Bob's!

You got what you paid for. Did you really think the furniture you bought from Bobs would last over 6 months? You fell for the gimmicks and bought cheap furniture that was most likely staple gunned together. Consumers like you who want to pay pennies for furniture is what keeps Bobs Furniture in business. You shunned the mom and pop furniture stores who actually service furniture and issue warranties by furniture manufacturers and you run to Bobs thinking you got a better deal. No hun you did not get a better deal, you got a piece crap furniture, the amount that you paid for.

Bob's Furniture Store offers great prices but the quality of the furnitures are very bad. Wood on sofa(s) not firm enough, cusions on sofa(s) very poorly stuffed, Dining table legs on chair and table not attaced firm enough, wood on material peels off and screws get very loose and ruins items. The investment is the worse ever made. I purchased complete living room set and dinning but never again. The protection plan, was a joke! When called and requested help I was given the run around and limited product coverage Esp. when off by a day of reported date. I am stuck with damaged furniture due to poor qualitly! Ashley Furniture, Levits, and any other store...HERE I COME! Sorry no photos attached.
