I just had HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE in BookS AMillion Hot Springs. Despite my voluntarily showing the young lady my bibles when I came in the door and letting her know I was searching for Bible book covers. I was treated as a theif.
I ended up with one employee acting like she was helping while she was going through my cart"scanning for sales". I informed her I had already made them aware when I came in that I had two bibles with me, (She pulls them out and looks at them anyways) A different employee/ lady came back to the aisle appearing frustrated the covers were disorganized and hovering around reorganizing them while I was still trying to "fit" my bibles in the proper cover. (Both ladies now on aisle with me) Other lady employee who was scanning stuff in my cart under the pretense of being helpful / trying to see if any of my choices were one sale. Picked out a cover for me and seemed disgruntled when I told her I wasnt paying 35 dollars for that one bc I didnt like it or the fit. Then I noticed a third employee/ lady was hovering at end of aisle watching me while she pretened to be busy Id say they in total spent about 20 minutes hovering, trying to check the bibles I brought in with me, stepping between myself and the covers I was exploring, Oh and I also showed the one woman EVERYTHING IN MY BUGGY and explained more than once that I had four covers of different sizes and two additional bibles I was shopping for as Christmas gifts for grandchildren. They were so BLATANTLY and pitifully trying to catch me stealing. ALL of these women fled the aisle as soon as I stepped away to go pay for my items and began to tell them off.
What should have been an enjoyable experience shopping, was absolutely nerve wrecking and infuriating. didn’t even finish my shopping. I just, I told the lady I appear to be a distraction from everyone who works in this store and I proceeded to check out, presented my MEMBERSHIP CARD and proceeded to pay for 145i,00 worth of bibles and covers. And then I told them ALL how humiliated I felt due to the way I was treated and that I won’t ever shop there again. Four of them acting like they did nothing wrong,. And the lady had to gall to ask to look in my original bag to check the two bibles I came in with for a THIRD time and used that as her excuse. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I sure wish they’d have called the cops cause I would have sued their bitts off. Last time they’ll ever get my money. Wouldn’t have spent my money there this time if I hadn’t spent over an hour trying to find what I needed. Grrrrrff. DO NOT THINK YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO LINGER and BE SELECTIVE on what you spend money on at BOOKs-A-ZERO)~ CRappy crappy customer service and PR skills demonstrated by the employees. They need training or fired.
To the owners of the Books-A-Million store in Hot Springs Arkansas. I do not know how many employees you have at this one time while I was there but I can tell you it seemed EVERY EMPLOYEE was hanging out on that aisle with me and that left the ENTIRE REMAINDER of the store OPEN TO [protected]@! LOL. Good job ladies!

It’s the last 145$ I plan on spending in the Hot Springs booksamillion store. Guess I took too long being selective on what I spent my money on. I have very little to spend so over a 100.00 in purchases from BAM should have been enjoyable experience. But employees Totally ruined my shopping experience. Not to mention while all four ladies were SO VERY FOCUSED on making sure I wasnt stealing, who exactly was minding the very busy store? Wow. I wont be back. Staff needs further training. PS I am a retired pediatric special nurse with alot of experience establishing rapport with complete strangers.
Recommendation: Do Not intend to enjoy spending your money at Hot Springs BAM
PS there were other items I hoped to purchase today, during my shopping trip to BAM Hot Springs Arkansas, but did NOT, I was physically shaking and although I am usually not outspoken, I spoke up for myself LOUDLY. Shame on those ladies. Shame shame shame
