Never seen a change -Didn’t work
I signed up in July 2022, paid my 60.00 so that I can have two years pulled to be reported. Well after the first month August I seen no changes emailed customer service they advised me it will be another 30 days but I should see a spike in points 20-30 in most cases. Well it’s a few days before November 1st and my score has Not changed from using this service. I emailed customer service they advised me it’s a Algorithm and some times it works and some times it doesn’t. Well I’m part of the None crew I’m upset because I really was looking forward to my rent counting towards my score but I feel like I was scammed. Lessons learned
Useless
I signed up with this company in September . It is now almost February and I have yet to see anything reporting on my credit report. Was initially told it would take 10 days to report. Then I was told that my rent history was sent to the credit reporting agencies and that they just haven’t updated the information yet. There are 3 reporting agencies. What are the chances that all 3 are doing the same exact thing? I should have listened to my friend who signed up with Rental Kharma. She had no problems getting information reported. Also don’t try to talk to anyone. You will only get the voicemail and possibly a response by text.
What a horrible app
Wanted to try boosting my rent and went with this service because it reports to all three credit bureaus. But the app is so bad I haven’t even been able to get through it! First, it didn’t send a verification code to my phone. I tried resending the code but still nothing, so I gave up. Then like 10 mins later I got all the codes at once. Okay. So then I signed up and PAID, now I can’t even sign in because it says there’s no account with my phone number. Can’t even chat with support because the link only takes you to help articles and you have to be logged in to chat. They don’t even have a website! So I guess I just paid $60 for nothing? What a scam.
App needs work
Let’s be honest getting rent payments reported to help improve credit sounds amazing but There are a few corks that this app needs to work on. I’ve been in processing for over a week, I’ve called customer service and they’re asking me to provide my login information for my community portal when that was already Inputted by me on the app. Along with asking me to send the past 24 months of screen shots of rent paid. Which I paid to be done for me. They then send me a text message to link my bank account which in my opinion should be asked for through the actual app. Just seems weird. I was recommended this app by someone trust worthy and want to give it a try. There are several things about the app and it’s efficiency that make me skeptical and nervous.
Completed broken
This app is awful. They take your payment from you before you can even set anything up, and once you start to do so, you quickly realize how broken the app is. Despite entering the information five separate times and receiving five confirmations from my bank account, the app still doesn’t recognize that my bank account is linked to my account. Every time I try to link it, the app says “you have successfully linked your bank account” and then promptly freezes. When I close and reopen it, it says I still need to link my bank account. Their support is largely useless, and the app does a poor job of teaching you how the service works or how to set it up. I have canceled my account and disputed the charge on my account because I have received precisely nothing for my purchase. Stay far away - there are many better options out there for this service.
Never write reviews but this is genius!
I heard about this a while ago and thought it was too good to be true! But it was true! This app has helped not only make life easier but literally helped my credit score a ton! If you rent you MUST use this! Don’t let your responsible rent payments go unrewarded! It’s literally the difference of helping your credit score (without trying )or or not helping it ….every month.. sooo why not? We all know good credit helps everything in life become easier ..we all have to pay our rent so why not be able to prove how responsible you really are this way, and usually our most expensive bill of the month we must pay just to have a roof over our head is rent and there is nothing more frustrating than dumping money every month for something that doesn’t even help our credit score to one day help us purchase a home! Thank you whoever made this app possible!
SCAM
UPDATE: received a generic response under my review. That is the same email & number I contacted at least 60 times with NO response. They wouldn’t even contact me back about trying to close my account since you can’t do it on the app but thankfully I have a new card anyways. Again, please do your research. If you look up the company on social & through google it is constantly people saying fraud & fake happy reviews. The only good news is my bank gave me my money back but lots of wasted time.
I wish I could give this 0 stars. For 6 months I have been paying to have my rent reported & after dozens of calls & emails - Boom has still not answered me. They’ve never contacted my landlord & the app is frozen where I can’t delete my account so I am now forced to cancel my debit card they have on file. I’ve reported it all to fraud & they sided with me because there are fake reviews everywhere of Boom. But if you dig into their social accounts countless people comment as well how their money was taken but nothing was reported & no one will answer them.
Horrible Customer Service!
I signed up for both current and previous 2 years of rental history on December 29. The company failed to set up prior reporting (for previous lease terms) and opted to just use my current lease term starting on October 1, 2022. As of today, March 10, 2022, this has not be corrected! I have spoke with representatives via phone twice. They have assured me this will be resolved and when I follow up they have no recollection of the call. Over the past month the company has become completely unresponsive to phone, voicemail, email and text messages. I’ve had to submit a credit card charge back for the entire service because I did not get what I paid for. I understand this may be a start up but they need to do a better job at taking care of customers and being transparent about their challenges or limitations. No one should go 90 days without receiving what they paid for. It’s an unforgivable act!

I have been using them since August everything was good up until this month they paid my rent on December 1st and than my apartments called me today advising the payment was returned. I called boom and basically there like they don’t know what happen and since the payment was returned I can only use a card or pay with a cashiers check which neither do boom do. Not only was I charged a 50 dollar return fee I will also be charged over 150 for late fees until I can pay next Friday. I’m not upset with the fact I have to pay the late fees because I would of had to pay it if they didn’t have this service. What I’m not happy with is the fact I have to pay the 50 dollar fee for boom error. The rep I spoke with advise he will speak to his manager but to me that is something that they should credit back to me since it’s there fault! This is not the experience I wanted to have with an app and I have never left a review but really wanted people to be aware that something like this could happen to you as well.
Update: They refunded me the 50 dollar return fee that I was charged but I still had to pay over 150 in late fees!

The service works; however inaccurate reports keep it from being great
For a person new to credit, I believe you'll find this service very useful in helping add some history to vour reports because Boom is one of the only few services I've used that sends your reports to all 3 major bureaus. The service definitely works and gets information on your credit reports; however, in my experience all my reports either are inaccurately reported as being Closed 3-4 months prior to when my lease actually ended or showing as still Open but without any payments since close to my lease end or my last 3 months of payments. I should note that all my reports showed I paid $150 dollars less than I was actually charged for my lease. I've reached out to their customer support several times about the inaccuracies but they've never seemed to get the issue fixed. In fact, I did recently reach out a few months ago to inquire again about the inaccuracies and I was told it would be a few weeks to get it figured out and received and updated; It has now been months since I've heard from anyone and I've honestly think they have forgot about my reports at this point.
For those new to credit, I'd like to say, I started using this service with 2 years prior of credit history already; so, I didn't notice a huge difference in credit score but it was at least a 10 point boost. This service is good for those starting out and I think you may see more of a bump than with your scores than I did, but this service is also good for those who want to add a mix of accounts to their reports and solidify their financial picture and ability. This is a functional service, but I can't say it's a great one due to the seemingly inability to accurately report information in accordance with fair credit reporting standards.

Totally fake and irresponsible people run this company! They never respond to your messages and awful customer service! Total waste of money and time. My credit score dropped significantly instead of going up. Someone should start a petition to lawsuit this clown company!
Warning to anyone thinking about using this app
If you enjoy throwing $35.00 away on completely nothing, than this app is for you. Customers service is dismal, there is none. No follow through on updating your address in the app, reached out numerous times, no response. It’s been almost two months and nothing, I want a refund. Stay away from this company.

Don't waste your money!
I paid for this service & because I didn't pay for historical and future at the same time they opened an account on my credit reports never reported any payments and then closed the account! So now instead of HELPING my credit they actually HURT my credit! The person i talked to on the phone said "This is a surprise to us" I’m sure it is.

No phone customer service over 3 1/2 months still no account!
I have filled out your forms multiple times, given you copies of my lease, payments & everything else you’ve asked for, but your company refuses to post my account, but sets up multiple accounts. I will be reaching out to the ComplaintsBoard.com, FTC, CFPB and Attorney General for bad business dealings since this is been such a long problem that is not getting fixed.

Scam Alert
Pretty sure this is a scam. I paid $69 in January and 3 months later none of my 4 years of rental history has been reported anywhere. I have reached out to Boom on two separate occasions with zero response which led me to report them to the ComplaintsBoard.com and they have been unable to get a response as well. I am now forced to report to my bank as fraud. I would not recommend this to anyone. It’s just a cash grab.

Stay away!
BoomPay only reported my rent payment once and it was incorrect, never fixed it or reported further rent payments made. Their dismissive customer service just blamed the credit bureaus- who all proved Boom was not reporting properly. Except for Transunion, who doesn’t accept their rent payment reports because they are currently investigating Boom. And of course, Boom won’t provide a refund. Don’t let them near your credit.

The longest waste of time known to man
I spent three weeks going back-and-forth with their service department. I’m trying to get my account set up. They respond whenever they feel like it. I’ve had zero success, getting anything done, but have ongoing threat with their health to accomplish something that is very basic and simple. If you would back up like to waste three weeks of your life that you will never get back talking through chats this is a great app for you.

Don't do it
I had boom pay for about 6 months and was on the waiting list to get boom split...I was never taken off the waiting list but my card was constanley charge for boom report i asked them over and over when I would be taken off the waiting list and they told me they Don't have a determined date yet so I canceled but they still continued to charge my card...finally they canceled out the whole account..please don't sign up for this app it's a scam

Does not help
Although it seems to be a good thing reporting my rent history has not helped actually the service did the opposite. After working hard for the past year to build up my credit, they reported my accounts closed by mistake. Their solution was just to make sure their system is reporting positive.. that doesn’t help for another few months. So I’m back to square one, really sucks…Boom doesn’t care and my credit score went down so I don’t recommend.

Pretty useless so far
They were happy to take my money, but after a month, nothing is showing up on my credit reports, it still says processing in the app, I’ve only gotten one email from them as an introduction, and their phone reps said my rent would start showing up on my credit report March 12. It is now March 22.
Speaking of that new app, it’s just like the old one. Even contains the same misspelling of the word receive.

So far nothing
It’s nice they say they will report to credit bureaus with a copy of your lease. So far not reporting they initially told me 10 days on March 30 I will update once I actually see any progress. I monitor credit with all three bureaus so I’ll get an email if any of them do get updated. It’s been about 20 days but I’m still hopeful! The first email I sent about this was ignored but they responded to my second email pretty fast and blamed the bureaus for the delay.

This company is tribble. I paid $60 to improve my credit score by reporting my rents. They only reported my last payment (only one month rent). Also, credit bureaus know them as a new line of credit so as a new credit line, it will reduce the age of your credit. Unfortunately, this lowered my credit score by 16! This company is a rip off they make you think they are going to help with rent payments but they wouldn't. I sent them several emails, but they do not responded! This company is fraud!

No updates on all 3 Credit Bureau’s
I have had my application setup since February and the email I received that my credit report would be updated with new trade lines in 10 to 15 days. Well it’s April and nothing has shown up. I have had 4 new credit cards show up, Chime, Sesame Credit, Grow Credit and Sable. As well has credit builder loans I had setup in late March. For some reason Boompay trade line is a no show and they have t reported anything to the Bureau’s. I would like them to send me documentation and records of them sending it to the bureaus to get processed.

No credit increase
Customer service has a myriad of excuses to why my account can’t pass clearance. From “we can’t find your account,” to “we are still new and our API needs more development.”
After almost two months, I am still waiting for my “24 months” of past paid rent to show in any of the credit bureaus they advertised.
The excuse of “we are new” is unacceptable for a business that knows their segment is saturated. Diving in on a whim without testing and development, they went ahead and launched, expecting paying customers to be part of testing.

That’s absolutely doesn’t help pay your rent, and it’s very misleading. They put you on a “waitlist” However you don’t even get to see that part until you’ve already paid the subscription fee of about $30. I called them an hour after signing up to cancel everything, and he assured me he did. Not only did the charge go through and never cancel, a month later it’s on my credit.I didn’t need help with my credit. Now I’m worried about what it’s gonna look like if it just got removed. So annoying. Scam, scam, scam. All these reviews have to be fake

BEWARE!
This service has not been good AT ALL. They have listed themselves on my credit report as a creditor when to my indestandih, they were ONLY to REPORT MY RENTAL PAYMENTS. NOT list themselves as a creditor! Also they claim they could not find my rental payments with the NAME AND ADDRESS OF MY PROPERTY MANAGER AND RENTAL COMPANY submitted to them!Of course they have their initial fee that I paid. Lesson learned. Do NOT use them. There is a REASON rental payments are not included in credit reports (have YOU ever seen them referenced in one)? and Boom cannot make it so!
