over charging a brace ( 20$ at any pharmacy ) to 300$
I received a brace for wrist and thumb
I was not informed by the provider about the out of pocket cost
the estimated cost was 300$ and estimated out of pocket cost was 160.48$
the price for exact same brace ( brand , color ) was 20$
please be aware of hidden costs, and check the pricing of Breg product online before receiving it.
I tried to file a complaint I was told that there no such a thing to file complaint for pricing
Breg is a ripoff
My son went to Patient Care for a sprained wrist and he was given a basic wrist brace. My insurance company did not pay the $300 charge from Breg for the brace since I had not met my deductible. I received a "discounted" bill of $153.37 for the brace. I called Breg to ask why they were overcharging for a basic wrist brace and they stated that they could not adjust the bill since this is the contractually agreed price with the insurance company. They refused to acknowledge that since my insurance company did not pay a dime towards the brace and I no longer have that insurance it does not matter what the agreement is with the insurance company, the agreement is now with me and Bregs and they have the ability to adjust this invoice to a reasonable amount but they refuse to even consider being a decent company. WORST COMPANY EVER!
Recommendation: Avoid Breg at all costs, they are thieves
Poor product, poor customer service, poor company the trifecta
Was told by dr this item may help and insurance would cover it on 3/30/2023
Product was poorly designed and flimsy, could not get it on by myself, wife tried to help, it was awful and did not fit properly. Never used it. Later I received a bill for $105 the statement date was 4/29/2023. I received statement may 10th, they claimed that the insurance company only covered partial because of deductible, this was false. I said well then I will return it,. Was told it was past 30 days for the return convenient that waited until after the return date to send statement. Was told they would review. Then I received additional statement with a demand to pay. I called and spoke with a csr who was no help. I asked for a supervisor and was refused, I was persistent and finally got a so called supervisor on the line. She was worthless, condescending and rude. When I asked again to return the item, she said it was my fault since it was too late. I said to resolve this, a return seemed fair, they already received way more than the item should cost, from insurance. I asked why they did not stand behind their product, I was told "we stand by our policies" the real message is scamming and harassing seniors is a regular practice and this company has zero interest in a fair solution. I wasted almost an hour on the phone, speaking with incompetent people and being on hold. The being on hold was the best part of the experience.
Please if at all possible do not do business with these people.
Doctor convinced me this flimsy foot brace would help with my problem while sleeping. I was told insurance would cover it. I could not get it on properly and never used it.
45 days later a bill shows up, I call they state that was the amount the insurance company did not cover. Way over priced item. I explained to customer service that it was garbage and I never used it and that could have been returned within 30 days. of course the bill came after the 30 days.
Today I spoke with another CSR person and then asked for a supervisor that refused to speak .. Finally after persistence and 15 minute wait, Hazel came on and was condescending and blaming me and the insurance company and doctor. Then the statement that says it all.. When I asked why they do not stand by their product and allowa return Hazel's smug comment was "we stand my our policies"
The fact is this is a poorly made product that is overpriced They prey on seniors and then make threats. This bullying of seniors and people must stop. Avoid anything to do with this company
The worst customer service
I had questions about why my knee brace was charged $900 when I could but it online for $129.First I called customer service and stayed on the line for some time before being transferred to recorded voicemail that repeatedly said 'I can't hear you, I can't hear you, you will have to call back'. I submitted a request online on the website for pricing confirmation and (not rudely) explained that was the price etc... The Breg representative in the office when he provided the device didn't go over any of that, my fault for not asking questions.
So now, I am faced with paying the bill at the insurance negotiated rate of $367...fine, I will pay it. It has been less than 2 weeks since I received the bill and now for the last 3 days I have been getting robo calls every evening asking me to pay. Seriously? Less than 30 days after receiving the bill? Do you know that I have just had surgery and have a mountain of bills to go through? I also distinctly checked on my paperwork that I did not want any robo calls coming to my phone (did you realize you have to authorize that?).
I never write reviews, even if I am unhappy but this? I couldn't help it.
I had an issue and asked why don't they stand by their products and the response was "we stand by our policies"
They are dishonest company with poor customer service
Zero Stars if I could
Zero Stars if I could. Wow everything below is true and I had no idea until going on this site. How can Breg have an A+ rating on Complaintsboard.com when almost 50 complaints are of the same nature. My situation, I was given the brace after an injury. Kudos to healthcare workers! I wore brace for less than 4 hours and it made matters worse. My circulation was cut off on my ankle and it hurt tremendously. Never used it again. Then to see that they charged $120 for an ineffective cheap made in *** piece of garbage. Then collected $65 from my superior medical insurance company and now hound me for $55 balance is unbelievable and an insult to injury as the saying goes. They may be in collusion with caregivers management who may also be receiving kickbacks? I dont know but a Class Action suit should be in line regarding these deceptive practices. I am fighting this but feel sorry for people who give in to these tactics. I concur that a pharmacy $12 product worked much better.

Went to urgent care in June. Was told I had a sprained wrist. Dr. offered me a $40 wrist brace. I paid in full there. Basically some cheap thing from Breg that you could get from CVS for $13. Ever since, I've been receiving bills from Breg saying total charges = $250, and that I owe them $147. Are you KIDDING ME? And they are IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of! Y'all's collection software is broken af. Amazing how poorly this business is run.
As many others have stated, their costs are ridiculously high for the product you receive, customer service just reads off of a script and is useless at actually helping you with your problem. I received a very vague bill 9 months after my daughter broke her wrist, and I thought it was a mistake since I had paid all of the costs associated with her urgent care visit and follow up appointments. Nope, they wanted $90 (after insurance) for a wrist brace that costs $15 elsewhere. I have told my orthopedic office about my terrible experience and asked that they find a different vendor for their products. These guys should be ashamed of themselves for profiting off of the healthcare system by exploiting patients when they are at their most vulnerable.
The boot is definitely overpriced - $400 for a boot you can get on Amazon for less than $100.Their collection procedures are predatory. I received a bill on Friday, (which I opened Friday afternoon) and a collection call on Monday morning before 8am. Ridiculous. If I ever find myself in the unfortunate circumstance of requiring such a device, I will refuse it if it is a Breg."Customer Reviews are not used in the calculation of the Complaintsboard.com Rating." They should be.
Broke my little toe and went to urgent care. They told me I needed a boot. First of all I couldn't even were it and it was not needed. BREG charged the insurance $400. My insurance paid $204.68 and I am being billed $195.32. Amazon has the same boot for $75.00. this is an outrageous mark up and should be illegal.
The lack of ability to speak with a manager is absurd
The lack of ability to speak with a manager is absurd. Kaneitha was absolutely UGLY yesterday, cutting me off and calling me a liar, trying to tell me she KNOWS we get insurance cards when in fact we don't! She then refused to take my insurance information after I spoke with them to figure out where my benefits # was and demanded my insurance call her. She obviously didn't put me on hold to go gripe about me and was in the background talking trash and "rebuking" me and telling God to "take the evil out of this woman's soul." Then got back on the phone to be ugly. The next representative took my information and benefits #, put me on hold for a good 10 minutes, and then came back to the phone to say we had to start over because she didn't get my information. I replied with, "Mam I've been on hold well over 10 minutes. What did you do with my information then?" She then proceeded to hang up on me! HORRIBLE customer service, HORRIBLE company to deal with, especially to expect my insurance to call because they don't want to do their job and simply send a claim to my insurance!
Had issues with customer service, they refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor Finally after a long time I was able to speak with someone calling themselves a supervisor.
Then when I asked why they did not stand by their products she responded "we stand by our policies" The integrity of this company is questionable. Sending bills after the return date is really shady.
Worst company ever! Dr. *** me a thumb brace and I received a *** from breg for $5.03. Went to THEIR website and paid. A year and a half later still continue to get phone calls saying I own them. Have spoken to them several times with no resolve.
I get a *** for $875 for crutches and a knee brackets. My insurance covered $399.80. But they want me to pay $575.20. When their cost is not over $50 on amazon.
paid Breg for brace. Breg then sends a bill for brace. When I looked up brace on Amazon it was *** at most but they are charging ***. I Never received a bill like this from anyone after insurance company made payment to company.
I was seen by the clinic, X-rays were done, and a BREG knee brace was placed on my knee
I was seen by the clinic, X-rays were done, and they put a BREG knee brace on my knee. The nurse had me sign an order form from BREG for the knee brace but only mentioned that it would be billed to my insurance. No price was communicated by the FastMed doctor or nurse. I recently received a bill from BREG for $541.94 (after my insurance paid). The original price for the knee brace was $900.00! Had I known the price, I would have refused their brace and bought one off Amazon for $165. The BREG Patient Bill of Rights I signed states patients will be informed of charges in advance. The documentation feels like predatory lending practices and should be outlawed. I want to return the brace and have my account balance waived!

This is really ridiculous Breg send me a bill of $277.12 for my son's ankle brace, when I called them they said you have to pay since your insurance didn't payed the whole amount ,I called the insurance they told me they already paid the amount and Breg is charging way too much .
This company "Breg" utilizes unethical and irresponsible billing practices, we never entered into contract with Breg, and had never even heard their name, but we received bills from them, they stated it was due to visits with a *** However, we were never given paperwork, or any information regarding billing coming from a different entity (i.e. Breg). Thus the received *** appeared as a scam, then the company proceeded with more scam style behavior, that is using robo-calls to harass for *** pay. Breg does not behave like a legitimate company, they do not tell you who they are up front or tell you how much they would like you to pay, it is very disconcerting that this behavior is legal, at the very least it is unethical and irresponsible.
The brace was utterly useless and had to be replaced by my physical therapist. Device should not be sold by anyone. Insurance paid over a hundred dollars to THE *** PLACE a/k/a Breg, and this company has sent a *** for more money. Got a phone message the same day I received the ***, which is harassment! Piedmont Healthcare in ***, *** needs to find a new vendor. Everyone reading this review, follow in my path. Complain to the *** of *** of your hospital. Write the state Insurance Commissioner.
I received 2 phone calls from this company Before I ever received a *** from them. I called, they sent me a statement, I promptly paid it The check cleared my bank July 6. I've received 2 bills from them this week. It's sad to think they're so desperate for $8.66.I will never do business with them again. I've also shares my experience with my Dr in hopes that he will stop using Breg braces.
They never sent me a ***, and then sent my *** to collections. They typed the wrong address. I got a call six months later from the collections agency. Completely ridiculous.
I am yet another person here to complain about the shady, overpriced practices here
I am yet another person here to complain about the shady, overpriced practices here. I went to an *** with a possible broken foot. They handed me a boot and told me to go see an ortho specialist. A month later, I receive a *** from BREG for $188! The total charges were $400 and insurance paid $212. This is insane! No one at any time explained what was going on, told me any kind of cost (I certainly didn't expect it for free but come on) or said anything other than to wear the boot. It is ridiculous that they are charging $400 for anything. They will try to say it covers administrative costs, etc but they did nothing. It's literally their job to handle claims. They and insurance companies in general should be ashamed of how they are taking advantage of people. The worst part is I have no options here. Because I was ill informed, I have to pay it or suffer the consequences. They didn't even send me an itemized list of what I was paying for. If I am paying so much for administrative costs, I should be getting a very thorough list. Do not accept medical equipment from providers- go purchase it yourself!

This company needs to be investigated at the highest levels. Theit customer service is a joke and their business practices are questionable
Deplorable customer service and accounting practices. Crutches were prescribed by my health care provider. I received an invoice for $75. The invoice was paid in April, the check cleared my bank over a month ago. After receiving ANOTHER statement with a $75 balance, I called the company to find out why my account hadn't been credited. I provided a copy of the canceled check and was told that it was going to be investigated...investigated? Six weeks, three telephone calls later, and unkept promises to return my call after the investigation was completed, they STILL SHOW an outstanding balance on my account. UNCONSCIONABLE! Absolutely the most poorly run company I have ever dealt with and I will emphatically encourage my health care provider to quit using them as a provider.
BREG GIVE ME 2 ITEMS I DO NOT NEED I TRIED TO RETURN THEM BUT THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT BACK. I THINK BREG PAYS DOCTORS TO ORDER ITEMS THAT PATIENTS DO NOT NEED. TODAY BREG SEND MY ACCOUNT TO COLLECTION AGENCY. SPOKE WITH SOMEONE TO TRY PAY SO THEY WILL PULL OUT FROM COLLECTION HE WOULD NOT HELP AND WAS VERY UNHELPFUL. I WILL REPORT THEM TO
Knee brace was received at Clinic in ***, and Dr assured me the brace wouldn't cost me over $200. Received *** today and the boot was $900, insurance paid *** and I got a *** for 541.94.It was a SIMPLE KNEE BRACE.I will contact someone higher to investigate this insurance scam
My injury required a knee brace and crutches. I got my *** from Breg and after my insurance paid their part, I owed $426.84. Sounded like a mistake to me. Nope! Before my insurance paid, the knee brace was $900.00 and the crutches $75.00! I looked on Amazon to see if the price was correct before I paid my ***. Same brace on Amazon, $119.00, crutches $13.00! This company should be ashamed of themselves to charge to much for their products at a time when patients are so volnerable due to their injuries! And then have the nerve to sell them on Amazon for a lot less! I will definitely share my experience with Breg, *** with anyone who will listen!
This company is the epitome of what is wrong with the medical industry
This company is the epitome of what is wrong with the medical industry. Somehow they charged my insurance $400 for a walking boot. My job is to build footwear, there is absolutely NO WAY the construction, materials, or function of this product merits $400. You go to a local running store and the high quality $150 shoes cost the footwear brand roughly $25-35 to produce. There is absolutely NO way Breg's cost of goods is anywhere near worth a $400 retail cost. They are making an insane margin (likely 80% or more) on every product they sell. Such a scam.ANYWAYS. The real point of this story is after a few months of fighting to return the ridiculously overpriced boot that I only used once or twice, I finally threw in the towel and paid the ***. Now, one month later, after getting confirmation from my health insurance that the *** was paid, I was sent a letter from the *** and ***, *** debt collector. For the *** that I ALREADY paid.Never, never, never accept any sort of product from this company even if your doctor says you need it. You can ALWAYS find much cheaper and better products with an easy internet search.

Got what I thought was scam calls just saying I needed to call them to discuss "an important business matter"
Got what I thought was scam calls just saying I needed to call them to discuss "an important business matter". I called when I heard "orthopedic". The person who answered was hateful as h***. I asked why I was only receiving calls and not a bill and she said the person on this acct IS receiving a bill. She refused to discuss the "important business matter" unless I have her my name address and DOB. I refused and she became even more hateful and hung up. When I called the number right back they were unavailable so I left a message. A few days later someone returned my call and left me a message sounding like she didn't even know her own name. She hesitated and started to give another name but clearly back tracked and said "Alicia." Afterwards I received a bill in the mail to an old address that my parents still live at saying I owe $80+ for a device received A YEAR AGO at an urgent Care. That urgent Care does not have my parents address listed for me. I find it funny that I'm getting a vague bill a year later after I asked why I want receiving bills only harassing phone calls. I still don't know if this is a scam or not and IDK how to find out for sure.
If I could give them zero stars I would!
If I could give them zero stars I would! I had knee surgery and got two products through them. I got the bills in the mail and I paid both promptly through online *** pay. Both payments were returned to me. I then got two new bills in the mail. I went back to *** pay, checked to ensure all information (such as account numbers) was correct and paid them again. Both payments were returned to me---again. This time I called them. The person that helped me had no idea why payments were returned and was otherwise clueless. I got two new bills again---and paid again. This time only one payment was returned, for a bit over $35. Called again. Spoke to someone who seemed helpful. Explained the situation. She asked me to email the information from my account to show that the payments kept being returned. I did (and therefore have her name and email address if anyone cares) and did not get a response. I got another *** and followed up with her again. No response. Got a letter today that they sent me to collections! I paid this *** a total of 4 times and called 3 times---they keep returning my payments and then send me to a debt collector? They are 100% the most incompetant and shady company I have ever dealt with in my life. I have many friends in the medical industry, including the top of the food chain at a local hospital. Will be sharing this feedback with all of them.

I visited a clinic for a foot injury
I visited a clinic for a foot injury. The provider told me she was going to send me with a boot. I was never advised of a cost for this boot and they said it was covered by insurance. I was never given a copy of any paperwork that would outline additional cost. Now I am receiving a bill for over $200 for a boot that I was initially told no cost at clinic. To top it off I only wore this boot for a couple hours because my podiatry Physician ended up advising this wasn't the proper style boot. That Physician said because my insurance had already paid for the one I had she couldn't give me the proper boot without it costing significant cost, She then picked one out online that was the same as the one she carried in the office and had me purchase that boot and have it shipped to my house at less cost than getting it from her in the office. So I was given a boot at clinic that should not have cost me anything and billed by Breg for something I was told not to use. I contacted Breg and they told me to contact the clinic who then told me to contact billing, and billing has now told me to contact Breg. I have spent hours going around in circles and sitting on hold with still a bill for over $200. This is a scam to treat patients like this, Breg should have more accountability on providers to properly notify patients. I would have declined this boot for this cost if properly informed.

It would be awesome if the ERs/orthopedists, etc
It would be awesome if the ERs/orthopedists, etc. gave customers an option. BREG would be my absolute LAST choice. They pedal cheap Chinese made *** that they charge you an outrageous fee for which doesn't work and falls apart after only a few days. For example, the "air boot" with none of the air pockets holding air for more than a few minutes". Or the ankle brace that literally falls apart in your hands after a week of wearing. The orthopedist/ER get a kickback I am sure. BREG products would never make it in a free market system. The worst part about this company is they do not send you an itemized ***. You receive a *** from BREG which merely states the amount owed. Nothing is included to indicate what you received, how much you paid, how much the insurance paid, and so on. I am no spring chicken, and never in my life have I had this happen to me. Get it people! you send an itemized statement explaining the amount owed. I can't believe other people actually pay these bills without question. I suspect BREG does not want you to know exactly how overpriced their medical equipment is; again, likely because they have to pay the docs a good amount to keep forcing this *** on poor unsuspecting patients. This company is nothing but a snake oil firm. In the future, I will refuse anything from this company when offered and order my own solutions from a more reputable company. I suggest you do the same. By the way, the one star is the minimum. They actually get -5 stars from me.

Questionable, underhanded business tactics
Questionable, underhanded business tactics. Their business model seems to be based on taking advantage of the lack of transparency in pricing for medical service - delivering value to the customer is a secondary goal at best. They partner with local care providers who deliver orthopedic products at time of service without disclosing the cost. This enables them to charge exorbitant markup (literally $240 for a $45 brace) with very little value add. From my perspective the value add is:1. Receiving the product at time of service - no need to shop locally or wait for delivery from an online store.2. Proper sizing - the care provider picks the right size for you based on their experience and fitment in the office. This is indeed a value add, but not nearly $195 (perhaps $20). I suspect if the price were disclosed at time of service they would not sell very many of these. This is a complete rip-off and I will actively avoid buying their products in the future (***, online or otherwise.) Their response to a similar complaint included this language: "Breg provided additional service benefits like deliveries to facilities and administrative services for filling the claim with your insurance. These service items arent listed or paid separately on product bills. This may cause some confusion about why the cost of a product being billed may be more than the cost of the same or similar product found in a retail store, on line."To this I say: Why not avoid this confusion by disclosing the cost up front. Let the customer decide whether the added service benefits are worth the price you are charging?

My issue is similar to others
My issue is similar to others. I broke my ankle and received later a separate bill for leg brace and crutches. The original bill far exceeded a standard market price and yes it was still more than one would expect due to admin costs. The lady I spoke to adjusted the price and I persisted in asking the company to submit to my insurance which is CIGNA. The Breg associated indicated that the hospital does not share insurance information, so I promptly shared that info with Breg by early Nov. My date of service was in late Oct of 2020. I called again before the New Year as a follow-up and the male associate that took the call stated they didn't have my insurance information, and I gave it to him (to Breg a 2nd time). I also repeatedly was checking in with my insurance company to see if they had received a claim. I made a 2nd call on the day I connected with the male associate, and got the same woman I had first contacted in Nov. She said all the information was in the notes of my account and the notes were dated when she took the call. She offered to put my account on hold until Feb. to give time for the claim to process. Well today I again did a follow-up with my insurance and nothing has been submitted. I decided to pay online to just be down with it and I did so today. After I made the payment, my account could not longer be accessed (this was within 2 minutes). I have left a message with Livingston Hospital in TN to confirm they do have a relationship with Breg Medical Supplies. I am concerned now when I review my bill that they list a Toledo OH PO Box and then a PO box for Dallas TX to make payment, and still another for the online payment system of CA. Now there may be logical reasons for all of this. But I am concerned about to whom I provided my medical insurance information. Information provided to 2 individuals who did not use it to submit the claim through my insurance. After all, admin charges should include a quick submission for insurance. If I find out this is a scam, I will dispute through my credit card.

Wow, reading what everyone else went through just sickens me even more about BREG and their unethical practices
Wow, reading what everyone else went through just sickens me even more about BREG and their unethical practices. I would give it zero star if I could. I have a similar situation with them price-gouging at its finest! I had a shoulder injury and got placed with an arm sling, the same arm sling from their site that cost $18.99 and they charged my insurance $200 with a patient balance of $124.79. I understand how insurance & deductible works, but they billed a price-gouging amount of $200 for a cheap arm sling! When I called several times, I would get the same person with different names and the same poor response/excuses. One rep tried to tell me that this is part of the professional component, which I technically paid to the provider and facility already, so now theyre double billing by stating its also for the professional component, another rep told me to contact my insurance since its their agreed amount, well I called my insurance for other matters and reviewed the BREG claim and as expected my insurance stated BREG controls the billed amount. BREG is definitely a scam and is taking advantage by over-billing/price-gouging to the insurance and the patient. Ill likely get the same automated response from BREG with this matter like the rest of the complaints here. I cant fathom paying over $100 for a cheap arm sling that cost under $20 at retail. Im pregnant and have other medical expenses to deal with than this price-gouging claim. Knowing what I know now, I would have ripped my shirt and made it into an arm-sling. This is seriously whats wrong with healthcare in America and every rep. I spoke to at BREG is clearly reading a script, have NO intentions to help, and sounds like the same person with a different name. Ive even requested to connect with their escalation/hardship department and was shut down from that, had to request several times for a supervisor to call me, which has been like playing phone tag, so lets see if Ill finally get a call back at a reasonable time and some resolution action can come out this (not holding my breath). So far a nightmare dealing with BREG and their price-gouging billed amount to my insurance.

Yeah they seem to be a really shady company, Overcharge for poor quality and then when insurance only covers partial they send invoices after the 30 day return period. They could have easily taken mine back or lived with what they already got from insurance, instead i get threats.
Refusal to speak to supervisor and then when asked why they do not stand by their product. I was told " we stand by our policies"
It would be helpful if an investigation was started into their business practices.

Sent me to their debt collector unethically and erroneously damaging my excellent credit
October 2, 2022 I was taken to emergency outside my FULL coverage insurance of Kaiser. I required a walker to leave the facility. I received a bill for the walker. I responded every time I received a letter or call from Breg to get them to file a claim with my insurance. I provided the information to them on numerous calls. Their response -Kaiser has to call them. I called Kaiser on numerous occasions and they contacted Breg and communicated with them requesting a claim also. In files with both companies, I am on record calling both entities to get this paid and resolved on numerous occasions. There is also record of communication between Kaiser and Breg. The culture at Breg is to get the money over the phone whether it is covered by insurance or not. They are not willing to go through "proper" procedures to file a claim. On my numerous calls, not one representative was willing to move it forward through the legitimate process in a medical claim process. This problem is epidemic throughout the entire company. 6 months- finally I was told by Kaiser they got it taken care of. I was away due to a death in the family for a period of time and when I opened my mail after returning, Breg sent the bill to their debt collector! I was on the phone for an hour and had Kaiser on a 3 way call (I have Breg employee names this is verified by a 3rd party Kaiser) yesterday and they reviewed the notes. We were on the phone with Breg for over an hour. It was Breg's error for not having my correct medical number after numerous conversations with Kaiser and me. Rather than pick up the phone to resolve it they sent me to their debt collector, no letter or call. While admitting the error to me on the phone yesterday and to Kaiser, additionally, they refused to pull back the bill and allow Kaiser to immediately file the claim. We requested a manager. They kept us on hold for 20 minutes and would not allow us to wait any longer. Knowing they erroneously sent me to a debt collector and damaged my excellent credit. I want this resolved and Breg to repair the damage they caused to my credit. After hours and hours on the phone with Breg and Kaiser, Breg couldn't/wouldn't resolve a $110 bill. I work for a communications company with many publications including a newspaper in a major city in CA. There should be an expose written about Breg and their unethical business practices. I see I am not alone.
Desired outcome: I want Breg to contact their debt collector and resolve this issue. Clear my credit and file a claim with Kaiser to get the $110 invoice paid. Are you kidding me? $110? This is a public relations issue.
I and Aetna were charged $200 dollars for a basic arm sling when I broke my elbow during a hospital visit
I and Aetna were charged $200 dollars for a basic arm sling when I broke my elbow during a hospital visit. Aetna paid $96.35 leaving me a balance of $103.65. I had no idea there was a charge for this and furthermore Bregg sells the same sling ranging from $17 to $20 dollars. I called the company back in April and was told that someone from their company would review and reach out to me. I did not hear back. I called again and left a message with no return call. I then received the bill again on 8/24 with the same charge. I called them to again and no one can give me a straight answer. I was never notified that I would be charged for this nor what the cost would be. I don't feel this is an honest way to conduct business. How do you mark up your product 1100% to a hospital and then not make the patient (me) aware that there is a separate charge for this sling. This does not seem right or ethical. Obviously I was under medication and duress at the time of the accident, but I do not agree with this process or charge. I should not be paying for something I did not agree to buy in the 1st place.
My son was seen at an urgent care in May and given a wrist and shoulder brace provided by BREG. I received a *** from BREG in Aug 2021 totaling $450 for items available at a local drugstore for less than $40. These items were barely worn for 30min. Upon receiving the *** I contacted BREG to requested return per the form provided AFTER the items were placed on my son. BREG stated I was outside the return window and denied my exception request to return the items. I filed a complain with my state Attorney General, which I can provide to you, related to BREG's business practices which was closed in Nov 2021 due to BREG not responding. My Attorney General advised I seek legal counsel which I should have done. Instead I contacted BREG and setup a payment plan to resolve this since it had been outstanding so long. I consistently made monthly payments as agreed. When I called to make the Apr 2022 payment the agent told me the account was paid and had no balance due. When I didn't receive a final statement showing the account paid I started calling in May 2022. I called 6 times during May and Jun, each time requesting a supervisor call me back which never happened. The reason for this was that I was now being told there's a balance of $76.30 and the Feb 2022 payment was missing. I happened to call after hours and left a voicemail explaining the situation which prompted a call-back from someone not in their callcenter. This person verified the Feb payment had been made and together we discovered a duplicate receipt sent to me so there was in fact an outstanding $38.05 which I paid immediately over the phone.Today I received a letter from a collection agency stating $74.95 was owed on the above account. This amount does not match what BREG erroneously claimed was due when I was finally able to speak with someone that could review the account. I have spent many hours dealing with BREG's incompetency and terrible customer service from their call center.
i am the guardian of a minor, who sprained his thumb, he received a wrist/hand brace from a doctor. the insurance wrote off part of the $250 brace, still leaving $142.00 due, for a small wrist brace, that you have no idea how much it will cost, then you get a *** after the return period of the item, and then i have called more than 10 times, been hung up on and assured a supervisor would call me back, they give me the run around on numbers to call and customer service supervisors always seems to be conveniently on lunch (at 3:42 ct) or i get hung up on. no one will talk to me about reducing the cost or what private pay would be. i've been told to call the doctors office that they set the prices and tell Breg what to bill, the doctor says they have no say in what is billed, insurance wants it to just go towards my deductible. but billing $250 for a simple hand brace is *** and monopolized. i did not have options on what brace, just you will get billed directly, and they expect me to blindly pay whatever they choose. this is not right. when youre injured you need the brace the doctor thinks will help, and as a parent you do what will help your child. i am not opposed to paying for the device, just want it to be reasonably priced.
Every week I receive mail for someone who does not live at my address (***) and I write 'Return to Sender' or 'Not at This Address' on the envelope and put it in the mailbox. Why do they keep sending mail to this person at my address? I am tired of dealing with this!
I received a $193.80 bill for a wrist brace that cost $20 at the local store.I didnt request this brace but the doctor gave me one just in case I needed it.I am on a fixed income and can't afford a ***% mark up on something I didn't even need.If Breg would return my calls I would be open to negotiate a payment. But they just keep billing me.
On June 15, I had rotator cuff surgery at a local hospital
On June 15, I had rotator cuff surgery at a local hospital. Pre-op in my hospital bed, I paid $190 to the Breg representative for a medical device using my credit card. Breg processed this payment on July 1. However, Breg began billing me again for the same device. I contacted them to clarify that I had already paid and requested the charge be removed. They assured me it would be. Despite this, Breg kept billing me. In September, I was told the issue would be resolved. The billing persisted. On October 7, I spoke with a customer service agent and provided my credit card statement as proof of payment. The bills kept coming. On October 29, I discussed the matter with a supervisor and provided additional documentation, including my bank statement. I was advised to disregard the bills as the matter would be escalated. Nevertheless, I received another bill in November. I've also been notified that my health insurance has paid Breg. I've received more correspondence from Breg demanding payment. I demand a refund of my $190 and want my account settled. They have received payment, and I believe this situation is verging on fraudulent behavior. I expect this to be resolved and my funds returned.

I received an invoice for a boot that an orthosurgeon office provided to my son at an appointment. I was billed by the provider through my insurance for the boot and paid the provider. I wanted to call and speak with Breg to clarify why I am being billed twice but on the phone number listed on the invoice there is no button or option to speak to customer service rep about billing questions only says to pay by phone.
On 3/17 I was billed separately from a hospital for a cheap sling (available on amazon retail for $13) with a *** for $25. Within days I was harassed twice by calls from Breg (or its representatives). The matter was turned over to insurance. Breg fictitiously inflated the cost of the sling by more than 8 times to Insurance for the exact same item and now demanding $87.32 as a copay. Actual patient copay should be $10.92.
This company price gouges when it comes to medical supplies. My wife went to urgent care because of leg pain. The doctor gave her a sleeve brace, insurance was billed. Insurance paid close to $850 for a simple knee sleeve and breg still tried to collect over $45 from us. This is a ridiculous price, only so high because they knew insurance would pay. We have disputed the claim to them many times to no avail. Got a notice today from a debt collector seeking the remaining balance. This company needs to be put in check!
I received a *** via *** for a medical "boot". I tried to set up a payment arrangement on their website where it states "Payment options". This option does not work. I tried to call them today, June 30,2022 and the first rep took my card info, processed payment arrangement. As soon as I gave cc info and he states "I could not process this payment arrangement. You will need to call back next week". There are enough funds in my acct. I called back and the rep intentionally disconnected the call. I called a third time and was told I could not speak with a supervisor and that the rep wanted my cc number again. He did not even ask for the acct number. I have notified my bank of possible fraudulent activity in the future with my acct but this company's reps aren't taking processes to protect my card info nor did they care to authenticate my acct before asking for my cc number.

Over Labor Day weekend earlier this year, I broke my right pinky toe and ended up going to my local Urgent Care to be seen
Over Labor Day weekend earlier this year, I broke my right pinky toe and ended up going to my local Urgent Care to be seen. Xrays were taken to verify that the toe was indeed broken. I was given a walking boot by the Urgent Care Center and upon checking out ($404 total), I assumed that everything, including the boot, had been paid for. No one told me that the price of the boot was not included in what I paid, or that I would be receiving a separate bill from Breg. A few weeks later, a bill came in the mail from Breg. I was charged $400 for the boot (which can be purchased online for around $50-$80, depending on where you looked) and $300 was covered by my insurance, leaving a $100 balance remaining. I'm upset that Breg is not only charging far more for the boot than online retailers are, but also that no one informed me that I would receive a separate bill for the boot. If I would have been informed at the time of service how much the boot would cost, and that even with insurance covering 75% of the cost, I would still be paying less by purchasing one online, I would have done so, and told the Urgent Care Center to keep the boot. I'd like to have this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Thank you.

This company calls me over 50 times a day about a *** I had no ideal I had. I asked to be on a payment plan for *** March 3 2022 and they still keep calling. I will be filing a law suit
This company has double billed me for a mid calf boot. They keep insisting that I received two boots which I did not.I only had surgery on the one foot thus only received one boot from my doctors office.I paid for my boot promptly.Despite repeated calls to customer service and emails they are insisting I received two boots and owe them money.
I visited my plan clinic with left wrist pain. After X-ray and MRI was given a brace by Breg. This was the same problem I had on my other wrist several years ago, and the same brace. I had no reason to question it. I received a notification Breg was not longer covered by my plan and was charged $250 for the brace. My plan is no longer involved. On top of that, the brace is unraveling badly.Breg is sending me bills and calling suggesting a payment plan. I disputed the amount with Breg and got nowhere. I'd happily pay the $38 for the brace - as seen online. $250 is ludicrous! Here is a link to the product https://www.shop-orthopedics.com/Breg_Apollo_Universal_Wrist_Brace_with_Thumb_Spica_p/100xx.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjwo8-SBhAlEiwAopc9WxxoNFnsDSbDGe_vToePbn0E59Vs1oxOmUV8VT6EnSvmDI9M7uE67RoCmFcQAvD_BwE&st-t=adwords&vt-k=&vt-mt=&vt-ap=
I have a torn meniscus and at my Doctor's *** they provided me with a BREG Orthopedic knee brace. In November , I received a *** for $105 dollars and I paid it on December 21 for the full amount. I have a screenshot from *** for payment as well. I recieved a *** for this exact item on April 6 2022. I called BREG and they say I still have an outstanding balance and need to pay? I told them I paid back in December and the person took all my personal info and said I still need to pay but would make a note of it?
I had received an orthopedic product as part of a wrist surgery ( the product was provided by the facility where the surgery was done
I had received an orthopedic product as part of a wrist surgery ( the product was provided by the facility where the surgery was done.) My health insurance did not cover the product. BREG stated calling me from a phone number in India in April. I thought it was a hoax as I could not understand the voicemail. I had not received a bill from them. After multiple calls, I determined it was BREG who was calling. I called and spoke with a customer service person who said I owed them money. I asked her to send me a bill, she mailed me an invoice that shows the customer balance due was zero dollars. I did not sent payment at that time. In September, I get a phone call from BREG stating inowe them money. The person I spoke with said $130 was due and she could discount that to $110.50 and the account would be paid off. I made the payment of $110.50 on September 1,2020. October I get a bill for $19.50, I call BREG and the disagreeable women I spoke with told me that the previous customer service person was not authorized to make that payment arrangement and that I still owed them money.I want BREG to honor the payment agreement as was agreed to and write off any perceived remaining balance. This company comes across as a scam!
This company is double dipping billing my insurance company and myself. This is fraud. I have been trying for 1 year to get reimbursed ***. No one will pay me or call me back.
Keep getting calls from them about owning money. Never had a *** from them for any reason I know. They leave no reference information about what it is regarding but have repeatedly called with automated messages.
Breg is calling me daily using a bot that tells me I owe money to someone. I called their number back and spoke to someone that started asking me for secure information without providing me any details of what they're accusing me of owing, other than saying it's related to medical billing. I did not share my personally identifiable information with them. I told them to mail me something to the address they have on file and nothing ever showed up. Their bot is calling up to 20 times a day. This needs to stop or they need to provide details on what I supposedly owe. I will not provide my personal information without knowing who says I owe something and specifically what it's for.
Breg Inc provided a hand brace at the direction of my doctor. My balance, after insurance was $8.08, which I paid upon receipt of the invoice. That was in December, Since that time I have spent more than 3 hours researching credit card statements and calling Breg trying to get this resolved. I emailed Bregg employee *** a copy of my credit card statement as proof of payment. I was told she would call back when the issue was resolved. ON 2/14/22 I called again, this time speaking to ***. She informed me the case was still open with no notes from billing. At her request, I tried to forward the original email I sent to Fallon. Her email address that she provided, *** to me failed. So I called back. This time I spoke with Fallon - again. She informed me that the notes on the account indicated the issue is not resolved because they cannot locate the payment in their system and that I needed to provide a transaction number. I called Citibank and asked for such a number and was advised there isn't one. Citibank suggested that I could dispute the charge but would need to pay it again and then call back to dispute it as a double payment. All this for $8.08? How many other people are they running this scam on? Please help. Thank you.
letter I sent to the hospital about Breg, the vendor, who sneaked in a charge
letter I sent to the hospital about Breg, the vendor, who sneaked in a charge. In re: Breg Company Invoicing, DOS 8/28 *** hospital X:I received a *** from Breg stating that I received an orthopedic product from them at your facility. I had no knowledge that I would owe this company anything in addition to hospital charges until I received the statement. I have no documentation in my possession or that I signed that corroborates this statement. They are referring to a sling I received in the *** I did see part of the sling in the trash, did I get overcharged for what I didn't need would be my first question.Second, I did not sign anything saying Breg could charge me in addition to Piedmont. I signed all paperwork and was at the *** alone and responsible for my charges. Later that night, my husband picked me up and said he did not sign anything either. He said he signed a paper that was not explained to him and he assumed it was just for discharge since it was as I was transitioning from the bed to the wheelchair to leave. I find this most irregular sneaking in a vendor's charges.I would ask that I get a copy of any paper I signed agreeing to be charged separately by Breg as well as confirming that I was charged appropriately by item number and cost, please. I do not consider this a valid charge until I receive such paperwork.I do not feel I should have been charged for something extra in secret, especially when not agree upon, at your facility and am bothered by this.Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.Sincerely

I received a Breg product after an urgent care visit
I received a Breg product after an urgent care visit. The boot I recieved had a retail value of $125 at the local Walmart and about 90$ online on ***. Breg charged 400$ and my insurance payed 150$, already over retail. Breg requested I pay the difference. The first call I received from Breg was an unprofessional call from one of their customer service reps demanding I pay for a service I had no clue I had agreed. So to start, better training for staff there to cover for the marketing team's mistakes. I called them back and waiting on hold until I received a customer service rep who was not helpful in explaining why I owed them money. She said, "if you pay today you will get 20% off and it would be reflected in your account". I told her I would contact me insurance to discuss. The next rep I talked to reported that there was "no discount on my file and that we were not able to offer discounts", which was also a lie, because my insurance told me what they have nothing to do what Breg is charging me. Second, not lying to your customers to get them to pay immediately. Due to Bregs history of reporting to collection agencies quickly, I paid the bill had it dealt with about a month and a half ago. A supervisor was suppose to contact me back, but all I've gotten automated calls from their billing department to request I pay. I have blocked the number and and will be contacting my location hospital networks to discuss the patient care standards I expect as a patient and how Breg, a third part contractor, is gouging their clients. I have paid the account and I have requested your staff not contact me again, EVER. Please do not attempt to contact me to discuss this Complaintsboard.com complaint. Breg has proven to be unhelpful and can pay have this complaint removed as I am unwilling to work with them as they are with me.
I received a bill dated 04/15 for $475.00
I received a bill dated 04/15 for $475.00. My insurance paid $237.19 of that bill, leaving me a balance of $237.81. I called BREG, INC on 05/01 to see if I could make payments because of a loss of income due to Covid-19. The man I talked with stated he would give me a 15% discount on the bill if I paid the difference of $201.61 then. To save me the 15% of the bill ($35.67) I put the balance of $201.61 on a charge card. I received another bill for the $35.67 dated 05/18. I called BREG again on 06/09 and talked with Domique regarding this bill, she told me she does see in the notes that I was given a 15% discount and the $35.67 should have been waived. She said she will submit a request to the dept that can remove $35.67 from my account. I received another bill for $35.67 dated 06/22 , but before I had time to call back regarding this bill I received a phone call from BREG stating my account will be sent to collections if I don't pay the $35.67. I have very good credit and do not want any collection listed on by credit report, so I paid the $35.67 under protest and started following up with BREG to be refunded the $35.67 I was told would be waived if I paid my original bill in full if given a 15% discount, which I did. I have made SEVERAL calls to BREG, INC over these past months. I'm always told my case is being expedited to a manager, but when I ask to talk with a manager, I am always told one is not available, but they will call me back in 24-48 hours. No one HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK! I would think that if you are told you will be given a discount if you pay the balance of the bill and you do, a company should not be able to keep sending you bills for that discounted amount and then call and threaten to send your account to collections if you don't pay the bill. Is this a case that the Attorney General should be made aware of? If so, what is the time frame for me to file a complaint with them?

I went to a walk-in health clinic in Springdale, AR
I went to a walk-in health clinic in Springdale, AR. I had a sprained ankle. The nurse brought me an ace bandage and a small plastic air-stirrup splint for my ankle. I was asked to sign a contract saying I would pay for the equipment. I asked how much it cost, and the nurse said he didn't know. I asked if they had gotten complaints about the cost being high, and he said no, so I went ahead and signed. I looked online and at drug stores and the same splint cost about $30. The most expensive I saw was on Amazon for $50. Ace bandages were less than $10. Later, I got the bill for $130! (To put this into perspective, 2 years ago I had foot surgery and had to wear a walking cast for 6 weeks. It was a heavy duty boot/cast. It was $100. and I was given the price upfront). Shocked, I asked the clinic doctor about it, and he was equally shocked at the cost. He said, "$130 for a flimsy piece of plastic!" He was so shocked, he said he wouldn't give those to patients anymore due to the outrageous price. He went on to say how often medical companies overcharge on items for insurance payment and encouraged me to contact the company to try to get a lower price. I called Breg. The woman I spoke with was extremely rude and condescending. She would not let me speak to another representative or manager. She ended up hanging up on me. I called again and (supposedly) spoke to someone else who told me they couldn't change the price. About a month later, I got a letter from the company stating they "acknowledged" my complaint. It gave no other details or information about the complaint. Just an acknowledgement that they received it. This is price gouging. The company should be upfront about their prices, but they know no one would pay their insane prices if consumers were aware of how much they were charging. They are taking advantage of people in a vulnerable medical situation. I don't think I should be charged more than fair market value.
On Nov 15, 2020, I took my son for an X-ray on his injured ankle to a medical facility
On Nov 15, 2020, I took my son to a medical facility for an X-ray on his ankle that he had hurt the previous evening. The X-ray results were negative, but the doctor recommended a protective boot until further review. Inquiring about the boot's cost, I was informed it would be billed by a third party. At the local Walmart, similar boots were priced between $89 to $139. After providing my insurance card, which didn't cover the cost due to an unmet deductible, I later received a bill for $400 with a $140 credit. Contacting my insurer, Cigna, I learned they hadn't paid the $140; it was a negotiated rate. I filed a complaint with Cigna about the excessive charge compared to the market price. Researching the supplier, Breg, I found they pride themselves on being a preferred provider, which, coupled with the facility's vague billing responses, suggested possible kickbacks. Many similar complaints online indicate a widespread overcharging issue with little consumer recourse.

I received a wrist brace from an urgent care back in December
I received a wrist brace from an urgent care back in December. After my insurance was billed, we got a bill from Omnimotion Inc. for the remainder of the balance in January. I paid the full balance on 2/19. In March, I got a bill from Omnimotion stating I had not made a payment. I tried calling the Omnimotion customer service but was sent to voicemail and asked to leave a message with my account details and I would hear back from a customer service rep within 72 hrs. I never got a return call. In April I received a bill from both Omnimotion and Breg Inc. On 4/27 I called Breg customer service and the rep told me Omnimotion had handled billing for Breg, but Breg cut ties with them in January. She asked for payment details showing I had paid the bill and she would forward that information to their "cash posting" department. I called back on 5/1 to see what the cash posting dept had determined. I was told that there was no info from cash posting and it would take up to 7 business days to get an answer and my acct was placed on hold until there was an answer. I called back on 5/7 and cash posting still had not sent an answer. I was told it would take 14-20 calendar days for an answer. On 5/8, I got a collection notice from a debt collector regarding the bill from Omnimotion. I tried calling Omnimotion phone numbers, but they forwarded to Breg. I spoke to Breg customer service again and told them Omnimotion sent me to collections. They asked me to send my payment info again and they would forward it to cash posting. Finally, on 5/20, I followed up with Breg and was told cash posting couldn't find the payment and they needed info on how the payment was made. I told them I paid Omnimotion on the phone with a credit card. They forwarded the info to cash posting and said I should have an answer in 24-48 hrs. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told my info would be forwarded to him and I would hear back in 24-48 hrs and was not provided a contact number when I aske
My daughter needed an air cast for her ankle and received it from an ER. Breg charged my insurance $130 for an air cast that costs $25-$30 on Amazon. They *kindly* reduced my costs to $68!
billed $300 from this company for a brace after already paying the clinic and insurance being billed. The brace in question is the same product that I found on amazon for $60, after the fact. Needless to say, I will not be paying
