Subscription & gifts
I paid $150.00 for a multi year subscription on July 23, 2021. To date, I have received absolutely NOTHING. Refund my money immediately. Do not call me with excuses, just refund my money. I will be going to social media with this issue. We don't treat people like this in TEXAS.
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND
5 year subscription, plus numerous products to go along with this magazine.
Sent payment in full $136.90 by check to Buckmasters 11/21/2018. Was to receive a 5 year magazine subscription and a new Buckmasters DVD, embroidered cap, a Bear & Sons Cutlery Knife, window decal, Tinks #69 Doe-in-Rut Buck Lure, and so called other subcription benefits. Got a mag from Nov 2018 and Dec. 2018 only and nothing else. All these things were to come when subscription was totally paid off, which I did. Called numerous times they said 3 times it's in the mail since last year. I want a full refund of $136.90. After investigating this company seen there are thousands of people Buckmasters have RIPPED OFF. Account number #[protected], invoice number #[protected], bill date 11/2/2018.
fraudulent charge
Daughter entered online sweepstakes for a free hunting trip. Started receiving calls to join. We refused and received repeated calls. We asked them not to call and to remove us from the sweepstakes. They sent us a invoice for $136. Never asked to join.

buckmaster membership scam
I called and was asked to have my name put in for free hunting trip. No credit card numbers where exchanged at this time. ok for them to send me membership on 12/30/2014. On 1/9/2015 phoned back and requested my membership be canceled. Mike the manager stated he would cancel it then. I received a bill in mail in Feb for membership fees. I phoned...

Buckmasters called me multiple times trying to get me to subscribe. Finally they forced me into a membership I did not want or ask for. After finally getting rid of the membership, they continue to call. I have asked multiple times for them to remove me from their call list and never call again. Still receive calls monthly from them. Every customer service rep I have spoken to is very rude and or will hang up afterwards.

trying to force a 5 year membership on me. I did not order and I will never order
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a young lady who attempted to sell me a 5 year membership. She expected me to pay over the phone with a check or by credit card. I explained that I never pay for anything over the phone. She told me that I had to because the money went for guided hunting trips for disabled veterans. I told her that I was a 100% Disabled Veteran and they had never invited me on a hunt. I told her they could send me the information in the mail. She got her supervisor on the phone. He sounded like a young gentleman. He also attempted to push me to make a payment on the phone for something Im not even sure I want yet. I told them they could send the info to me in the mail. I did not order anything. On 10/22/2014 I received a bill for a 5 year subscription for buckmasters. I still dont understand the program. They didnt send me any information about the guided hunts for Disabled Veterans. I called the member services and the first young man didnt want to listen to what I had to say so he just kept saying over and over "credit or debit, credit or debit etc..." I told him I didnt order anything and I will not pay anything. He hung up on me. I called back and contacted the same person. I ask him if he had a supervisor hanging around? He said he didnt have a supervisor, then hung up on me again. I had to call the very nice lady at the home office to get in touch with someone else. The phone answered then went straight to a dial tone. I called the Lady at the home office back and she transferred me to Mark, she stated he was the supervisor of the whole branch. I got a answering machine. I left a message on his machine with my contact information. I called the lady back at the home office and she put me in touch with another young man that kept referring to me as bud! I told him I didnt like being called bud so he could refer to me as MR. Hestand from here on. He kept saying over and over, "we have you on tape, we have you on tape etc..." I told him he didnt have me on tape agreeing to buy anything on line or anywhere else. He sad "you will pay the bill and thats the way it is Bud". I told him he could send all the bills to me for ever but he would not get any money from me. He threatened to turn me over to collections! I ask who, so I could give them the address to my attorney. He said he didnt know who it would be until he turned all my personnel information over to them. Then they would contact me. He also stated "you mean you would spend the money and time to hire an attorney rather than paying this small amount for the 5 year subscription? I said yes! Because you are doing a dirty underhanded service to Disabled Veterans and other dedicated hunters in this Country

bad service
Looked at their website and left my phone number, they called and wanted 130.00 dollars which I said send me the paperwork to look over as I'm not giving my card # over the phone.
Next thing I recieve is a bill for 130.00, after four calls they are stating I asked to be billed.
Sorry Compny.
I will take a hit on my credit score before they recieve any money from me!
i joined buckmasters and paid for a lifetime membership. they are claiming i only paid for a 5 yr membership. they are a scamming outfit. they need to be brought up on charges of fraud... I PAID FOR THE LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP AND AM NOT GETTING WHAT I PAID FOR...
pressure call
Buckmasters had done nothing but pressure call me for some time. I do not know how they managed to get my phone number anyways. They proceeded to call me 4 times a day even when I said I was not interested.
Finally I threatened that if they called me again that I would contact my attorney because they kept calling over and over and over again. Now here it is 5 months later and they are calling again.
To top it all off, I check the mail today and find a delinquincy notice that my buckmasters debt is $130. I never agreed to anything, nor was ever interested in anything.
Ignore the "collection" notice. It's all a part of their scam. You don't owe them anything.
To get the calling stopped is another story (as evidenced by the stories told here).
Their tactic is to intimidate you enough until you give in. Extoration may not be too light of a term for what they do.
If I could become a part of an organized movement to stop them, I would. They really ticked me off... and I don't get ticked off very easily.

This company is horrible. Complete scam.
scam - they renewed me years later
I had a buckmasters subscription years ago. Last year they renewed my membership on my Credit Card. My subscription had ended many months earlier. When they called they said it was a computer error and offered me some junk. Has this happened to anyone else.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They unlawfully took $109.00 out of our checking account. I had my bank review the charge and they investigated and determined it was fraudulant. Visa agreed that Buckmasters was NOT entitled to any money. They still send threatening letters.
You don't even have to have had a previous membership for their tactics.
I thought I was doing my husband a favor by getting him a ONE YEAR subscription to a hunting magazine. It resulted in multiple-per-day phone calls claiming we owed $130 for a membership. No amount of rebuttal to them would work, only made them more vicious and ugly.
They sent threatening "collections" letters, phone calls claiming they were sending us to "collections".
Horrible, horrible, horrible organization. If they ever show up in my area, I will be there with a big huge sign warning people not to enter any "contest" or agree to any type of transaction with this scam.
My experience with Buckmasters is similar. I agreed to a five-year membership. And for two years, I even subscribed to Rack and GunHunter magazines. They called to see if I wanted to renew my subscription in Aug. 2009. I told them I did not want to renew. I began receiving invoices for a balance due for the magazines that I had clearly stated I did not want to receive. I called and tried to resolve this with a rude employee in their member services area. It still wasn't resolved.
Today, I finally spoke with a manager in member services. (This was after numerous calls to Buckmasters trying to find the right person.) He apologized and said the invoicing was likely an error and he would take care of it. (It's the same response others have received.) I canceled my membership and asked for confirmation in writing. Also, I called their customer service department and had my phone number added to their do-not-call list. Hopefully, that will eliminate future "mistakes" involving Buckmasters.
harrasing phone calls
About 2 years ago I entered a Buckmasters Contest and ever since they keep calling me despite my asking them to take my number off their list. They have called at least 12 times in the past 3 days and I am sick of it. Never Do Business of anykind with these people. The number they call from is [protected] which has hundreds of complaints filed against it. Again - Never Do Business With This Company!

subscibtion complaint
About 6 or 7 months ago I filled out a sweepstakes hunting trip on the buckmasters website just to try my luck. Then give or take 3 weeks later I start recieving phone calls about a monthly subscription to their magazine in which the wanted my credit card number. I told the guy I didnt want it but he said he would send me some info about the magazine and the amounts and options and I could decide if I wanted it. Then yesterday I recieve 2 bills one for 102 dollars for a 2 year sub. and the other for a 5 year subscribtion for 130 dollars from credit masters which I new nothing about. This is redicolous that I work my tail off to astablish my credit working 2 jobs and going to school at the same time trying to get married and build my house and they have people messing up honest inocent peoples credit.

Their membership program totally sucks as do the magazines. They charged me $50 for a gift card, but the card was never loaded with my funds.
membership
Do not sign up for buckmaster magazines. They said the only way I can cancel if I pay 102.00 for 3 year membership then it would cancel You talk about BS THey have sent me 2 magazines and want me to pay 102.00 what a rip off. I told them for the 2 magazines can I just pay for them, No sir you have to pay for the full 3 years. They scam you and take your money and if you dont pay they will turn you into colection
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
yeah they are nothing but a scam! i have a 1 year membership and i only got one magazine! they call all the time trying to get me to buy more stuff so i ask about the rest of my magazines and they dont know anything about it.
phone calls
I keep getting calls from [protected] and no one answers or leaves a message. I am on the DO NOT CALL registry and I want these calls to stop now!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Exactly my experience too, except we're in Alabama and they were calling our home phone.
I *think* I resolved it today by emailing all of their advertising executives, customer serive and CC:ing Lewis H. Figh III, the president of the company.
I receieved an immediate response and apology.
Still hate to think they are doing this to countless others.
I received about 15 phone calls from buck masters 1 800 number over a couple months, so I answered one evening. The sales rep did his spill & I told the rep I was in woods and to send me some info in writing and I'd see. They sent me a bill for $130, then I received the first magazine. I called the 800 number and told them I had not subscribed & they said there was nothing I could do the bill was now due. They argued I had subscribed to the 5 yr plan and if I didn’t pay the $130 it would be sent to collections. I received another bill this week & again called back. I spoke with another rep who had a terrible attitude and again said there was nothing I could do. I asked again to speak with a manager and my request was refused as I had spoken with a manager before. I have been called and harassed by Buck Masters at least twice a day sometimes more. I was even called by a different department within Buck Masters trying to sell me some other product and I didn't give this rep an opportunity to give a sales speech and explained the situation that I am currently in with this company already. I am very upset and disgusted with Buck Masters and they give the entire hunting industry a bad reputation. My wife and I have ordered numerous magazines and have never had such a situation to arise. I will be speaking with my Georgia state representative, senator and potentially posting a you tube video concerning this situation. I feel that I have been wronged and have no recourse. I researched the internet and have discovered that I am not the only person to have been scammed by the Buck Master Co. on the exact same 5 year plan membership. As I read other blogs I have the same complaints they are going through what I am going through. I feel that I was wronged by this company, I was in the woods and was unable to sit and actually concentrate on what this rep was discussing and actually had interest and requested more info and instead I got a $130 bill and a whole lot of headache and harassment.
false billing charges
After entering a buckmasters sweepstakes I received phone calls tring to get me to buy a hunting vacation package. I repeatedly told them I was not interested and to remove me from there list. then I started to receive calls stating that I had purchased a five year subscription to buckmasters magazine and they wanted there payment even though they said the order was placed from my home one week ago. I contacted my local police and will contact my attorney general tommorow.

Just went to web site and bang i get a bill Jackie Bushman is a DISGRACE to the american hunter.
Followup - phone rang last week. Guess who?
Buckmasters! Must be re-cycling through former pi$$ed off victim's phone numbers.
So much for taking me off their list, huh?

The only way to get it to stop AND to make them re-think their strong-arm sales tactics is to hit them where it hurt$.
This means getting their corporate sponsors and advertisers in the loop. Let the GunHunter magazine sales account executives know of the situation. **** Don't leave off the president of Buckmasters (Lewis Hale Figh, III, of Montgomery, AL) in your correspondence either. ****
I got it stopped within 2 minutes of my email to all of the above voicing, politely, my concern about the harrassment.
I even recieved an apology.
But I am still upset at the number of stories just like mine that are out there. The go back for YEARS of the same tactics.

buckmasters scam
Got a phone call one day from one of their sales reps and did not know exactly what they were talking about. They asked me if I would like to sign up for some membership and I told them that I didn't have time right now but maybe later. After that I received a magazine from them one day. I figure it was just something that they do to try to get customers or something so I ignored it. Then one day out of the blue I started receiving phone calls from a 1-800 number. I quickly hit the ignore button on my cell phone because everyone knows that a 1-800 number is someone wanting to sell you something. After repeated phone calls from the same number I finally answer it one day. It was Buckmasters and they were telling me that I signed up for some 5 year membership and that I owe them $130.90 and that I was past due on it. I told them that I never in my life ordered that subscription and for them to cancel it. They told me that they could not do that because it was past due. I told them that I did not order that and that they need to cancel. They once again told me that they could not do that. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the man on the phone told me that he was one and that his name was "Bill" and his extension was 241. He told me that if I wanted to speak with someone else then I would have to call back on Monday and speak to someone named Larry. I told him that I would do that and hung up. I called them back a short time later and asked them if they recorded their phone calls, they asked who I was and why I was asking. I told them who I was and that I wanted to know to see if they had any proof that I signed up for a membership. They said that they do not record their conversations on the phone and wanted to know why I was asking if they had proof.
Later that night when I got home I got on the internet and did some research on Buckmasters and to see if they had done this very same thing to others. It didn't take very long at all before I found numerous websites stating that there was a lot of people that had, had this very same problem the very same way that I had. I am contacting my local BBB probably on Monday when they return to their offices to file a complaint with them. Any questions E-mail me at [protected]@aol.com

I have had the same thing happen to me. sent me 3 magazines i didnt subscribe to get and said I owe. 136.90 . I paid them because I didnt want it on my credit. I filed a complaint with the attorney general of my state. Has anyone else heard back from their attorney generals? please let me know on here
My son in law had same kinds of problems listed in complaints. I called and was rudely told that they would not cancel the subscription after I repeatedly told them he did not want it. The CUSTOMER service Rep started shouting and then hung up the phone.im not sure how a business like this stays in business but anyone doing business with them BEWARE THEY ARE NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY nor will they listen to reason
Well Buckmaster ltd. still up to their old business habits.
False bill, harassing phone calls, false contract agreements . I just sent a e-mail to cancel to Jackie, I had a 3yr membershtp which they sold me, for the same price as a 5. Now they trying to bill me for a life time membership which i have said no to 100 times.
Now i am filing legal action with Alabama and U.S consumers board.
mike
just received a bill for a life time membership which i did not agree to .After being hounded for years and after i told Bill and Larry to go screw themself's, years ago. And i would call credit card to have payment stopped, no permission.
They got me to sign up for a membership, with a sob story about the fallen warrior program, so I thought it would be nice, since i am a hunter and know quite a few vets.
You should be able to stop any payment with a call to your cc co. or bank.
I entered a contest on the Buckmasters web site some months ago, being careful to note that it was a contest entry only, that I was not making any purchase or signing up for membership. Some time later, I received a bill for $136.90 for a Buckmaster membership in the mail. I called their toll-free number to let them know that I had not ordered any membership, but they insisted that I had and refused to remove the charge. They have continued to send bills, dunning notices, and today even a letter threatening collection activity. They have also been calling me on my cell phone demanding payment. Each time, I have explained to them that I did not order anything, will not pay for anything, and that they should remove the charge and cease their harassment.
I have filed a complaint with the AL attorney generals office
I have experienced the same situations . I entered a contest received a call. Told the lady on the phone i am not willing to commit to anything. Then she put me in the phone with a man. He spoke as fast as he could and then hung up. Then a few weeks later i start receiving phone calls telling me i owe them money for ssubscription. What do i do? Help ? Jessemoore81@gmail.com email me with advice please!
I just received a letter from the Attorney General of Alabama, they contacted Buckmasters about this issue and Buckmasters canceled my so called membership. I have a zero balance and was put on the No Call List from Buckmasters... Thank You Alabama Attorney General. I suggest everyone file a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General, very easy to do online they responded within a week of filing my complaint.
They really are harassing people. And I fell victim of it to. Would like to know how to stop it. Any help would be great.
They just done myself the same way. Does anyone really know how to get them to stop calling and harassing?
Same thing just happened to me, they start with the hunting trip you have a chance to win and then very add in a 5 year membership for 136.00, when I called them whoever I talked to he would not give me his name, said We got you now because we have you recorded agreeing to the payments, which he was glad to play back for me. I asked him if I could cancel and he went on a rant very rudely. I did become angry at this point and ask him if I could talk to his supervisor and he told me no and I'm tired of low lives trying to get out of paying their bills, he said if I didn't send the min. payment due, that I would be turned into collections and it will go on my credit report... My question is should I pay or just let it go.
credit threats
I have been wrongfully accused of subscribing to buckmasters magizine over a year ago, and after trying on several occasions to inform buckmasters that I have not subscribed to there magizine, now I receive
A letter from retrieval masters reditors bureau, inc.
I have contacted buckmasters and they sent me an e-mail stating that this account is closed and I expect you to do the same. I have worked for over 30 years building my credit reputation and I have an very good credit rating and expect to keep it. I also expect you to remove any and all information regarding
This so called account [protected]. I expect you to show immediant attention to this matter, or I will be
Forced to take this to the next level, and let the courts handle it.
This is Junior Henry just so you know I have me a lawyer. The days of my checking account where I have also made payments and recordings on when I talked to Kevin and Mike on getting my money back. I have also heard alot of feedback on you company. Everybody is dealing with the same curcumstances why are you ripping people off. That's not right.
In June 2009, Buckmasters Magizine called our house, spoke to my husband, tried to get him to subscribe, he declined. So then they tried a new tact of "how about we send you some information. Husband agreed to that. Since then, they have called almost every day and sending us bills claiming he subscribed to a 5 yr. subscription, and now turned us over to a collection agency. We told them to produce their "voice recording" evidence, but they dont want to comply. So now we are screwed on our scores. THANKS BUCKMASTER MAGIZINE !
I was contacted by Buckmasters for a donaiton. I donated a small sum, and the next week, I was contacted by Buckmasters again wanting more money. Since then, Buckmasters calls me two to three times a day wanting more money. Now they are saying I subsribed to Buckmasters and I must pay, or they will turn me over to a collection service. I signed no contract nor did we have a verbal agreement. Second if I subscribed to something, why have I not recieved anything in return. I talked one of the reps who claims to be a manager, he claims that I can not cancel a subcription, a subscription I did not subscribe to.
I am STUNNED! This SAME THING happened to US! wow! I am a wife, of a retired husband, that LOVES hunting - We also have 11 year old triplets, and absolutely can NOT afford this type of FEE! Same thing as mentioned above, I signed up my husband, for a chance to "win" a FREE hunting trip~ NEVER did I agree to ANY purchase of a membership fee! When you have 11 year old triplets, and your husband is retired, and are NOT a high income status - The last thing I would EVER do is THAT! I signed up for a FREE chance to win - and now, we are getting slammed with constant billing for $130.90, and now threats of "future" collection efforts - My husband was VERY mad - and called them up - and the guy on the other end of the phone, was very smug - didn't even CARE how he felt - Out of curiousity, I did a search on this situation, and I find this information! What SCAMMERS they are! I can't believe they actually are getting away with this, let alone, even have their show STILL on tv! People need to know this about them - but HOW can we do it?
Very frusterated!
no names but bucmasters is full of lies stay far away from them do not answer the phone do nothing but deny do not pay they cannot force you i know because i use to work there for 2 years. there is no obiligation.
These people are ### in my opinion. Please take action as I have. Take the time to report them, you'll feel better to make them jump through hoops ;)
If you are fed up with them, please report them to their local BBB ( http://centralalabama.bbb.org/ ) or to the do not call registry if you are so registered.
https://www.donotcall.gov/
As well the federal trade commission may take an interest.
https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/
Lets not put up with this, they are the most relentless company I know that snubs their nose at these agencies.
I am so angry! I signed up for a free hunt online and they called a few weeks ago and they were hard to get off the phone. Today I get a bill for a 5 year membership for $130.00! We are low income and cant even pay our house payment so we would never sign up for this. I called them thinking that it was some kind of oversight but the man on the phone said basically that they spoke with us for 5 minutes and we came to a verbal agreement. I told them it never happened and that I wanted to hear the recording of that conversation and he said that was impossible. I told them of course it is because you are scamming people. He said "how is it a scam?' I proceeded to get very angry and told him that it isn't right to sign people up for a membership who never wanted one and that his employees are signing people up to make a sale so they can get more money. He said that he has worked there 5 yrs and they dont do business that way and I said that someone there sure does. We went on with him saying over and over "How can this be a scam?" He refused to take cancel the membership and I told him that I didn't want a darn thing from them. They obviously have shady business practices. They can tell you how long they spoke with someone at your house but they dont record it. They just call you and bill you anyway regardless of what you say to them. I watch Jackie Bushman every week and this has completely changed how I feel about them. The biggest mistake I ever made was signing up for their contest. I will never watch Jackie Bushman again. Like Bo Burgess said: If they call you just hang up and NEVER sign up for anything on their website. Let every hunter know about the activities at buckmasters. They screw people out of their hard earned money. He said that I have a membership and just don't want to pay for it. How dare they take advantage of people like that.
I am currently fighting buckmasters for the exact same thing. I entered a drawing on their website and later recieved a phone call from them trying to sell me a 5 year package. They would not take no for an answer, so finally the guy said he would send me everything and I could review it and then make my decision. I clearly agreed to pay nothing, but a few weeks later I recieved a skinny magazine and a bill for $130.00 some dollars. I've been fighting since then but with no luck. I'm trying the attorney general now to see what happens.
A word of advice, if anyone calls you and says buckmasters just hang up the phone immediately.
It's still happening. My husband entered a drawing on line and they called later asking him to sign up for their membership. He declined, but the next thing you know, we are getting bills for a 5 yr subscription at $130.90. They refuse to listen to reason. Has anyone ever gotten this problem resolved with them?
Basically same thing happend to me this company is really full of low lifes.
