Top-Notch Garage Floor Finish: Durable Coatings of Iowa Review
Durable Coatings of Iowa is the way to go if you're looking for a top-notch garage floor finish. Their work is simply beautiful and easy to maintain. I had a great experience with their representative during the initial consultation. He was very informative and answered all my questions about their products and services. This helped me understand the benefits of having my garage floor finished by Durable Coatings.
The installers were amazing! They were always on time, friendly, and highly professional. They did an outstanding job from start to finish. You could tell that they were passionate about their work. They put in a lot of effort to ensure that the job was done perfectly. I was impressed by their dedication and commitment to their work. It was evident in their body language, temperament, and rapport.
The price for the job was very reasonable, considering the amount of materials and effort that was required to complete the job. I was very satisfied with the final result. I highly recommend Durable Coatings of Iowa to anyone looking for a garage floor finish. They have a great team of employees who are dedicated to providing excellent service. I would like to give a big shoutout to all the employees who were involved in finishing my garage floor. They did an outstanding job and deserve recognition for their hard work. Thank you for a job well done!
BuildZoom Review: A Total Disaster - Don't Waste Your Time or Money
I gotta say, I was pretty lost when it came to building my custom home. I stumbled upon BuildZoom and thought, "Hey, this could be the answer to my prayers!" Boy, was I wrong. Let me tell you, my experience with BuildZoom was a complete disaster. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
First off, let me just say that BuildZoom is a total scam. They promised me the world and delivered less than nothing. I wasted so much time and money on their so-called "assistance" and ended up right back where I started. They connected me with an architect who designed a house that was not only twice over my budget, but almost twice the size I asked for. It took over a year to get this design from him, and even then, it required tons of adjustments. And get this - the final design didn't even have all the necessary components, like plumbing! Can you believe that?
To make matters worse, everything the architect designed was overly expensive and unnecessary. I got no help with selecting a contractor, and the ones that BuildZoom offered were poorly qualified to build a custom home. They were all specialists in solar panels, windows, and other random improvements - not exactly what I was looking for. So, I had to find my own contractor. And when I complained to BuildZoom about all of this, they promised to take care of it but never called me back. Typical.
To be honest, I don't think the employees at BuildZoom even cared about my project. They were all over the place, and I never felt like they were paying attention to my needs. It was a total nightmare.
So, if you're reading this, please beware of BuildZoom. Don't make the same mistake I did. Save yourself the time, money, and headache and find a different company to help you build your dream home.
Stay Away from BuildZoom: My Horrible Experience with Their Contractor Vetting
I gotta tell ya, folks, I had a real bad experience with BuildZoom. My wife and I needed some major construction work done on our property - we're talking demolition, foundation, framing, electrical, mechanical, the whole shebang. So we figured we'd give BuildZoom a try to help us find a contractor who knew what they were doing.
We got assigned a "Customer Success" rep who we told all about our project and showed our architecture plans to. She then hooked us up with three local contractors who she said were "qualified" to do the job. We met with all three of them at our property, checked out their portfolios, and got estimates. They all seemed pretty knowledgeable (at least on the surface), and since BuildZoom said they had vetted them, we picked one and got started.
Big mistake, folks. Huge. The contractor took a boatload of money from us and hardly ever showed up to do any work. And when his subcontractors did finally get around to doing something, it wasn't even up to code. We had to hire another contractor to fix all the mistakes and damage that BuildZoom's guy caused. And now we're in a big ol' legal mess trying to get any of our money back.
Let me tell ya, I ain't never gonna use BuildZoom again to find a contractor. They clearly don't know what they're doing when it comes to vetting these folks. This is the worst service I've ever used, and I don't want y'all to make the same mistake I did. Stay away from BuildZoom if you know what's good for ya.
A&D: The Reliable and Experienced Contractor for Your Geothermal Needs
When you're looking for a contractor, it can be tough to find one that actually answers your calls and takes the time to visit your site before submitting a proposal. But let me tell you, A&D is the real deal. We hired them in 2022 to install a horizontal geothermal loop HVAC system at our Remer Cabin, and we couldn't be happier with the results.
We had three proposals to choose from, all of which were similarly priced and scoped. But Dean's proposal stood out because he and his team really took the time to listen to our unique needs and understand our location. Geothermal systems are complex and require a lot of expertise, experience, and subcontractor relations. Luckily, A&D has all of that and more. Their deep local family experience in HVAC and geothermal won us over and proved to be exactly what we needed for our cabin.
A&D installed our geothermal system in the fall of 2022, and it was a smooth process from start to finish. They monitored the drilling of the horizontal lines and installed a full HVAC system in our cabin, including a specialized geothermal heat pump. And let me tell you, it's amazing. The system is just as quiet as our primary home's forced air furnace, but the monthly costs are much lower.
The final cost of the geothermal system matched A&D's original proposal, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Dean and his team were wonderful to work with, and Dean was always responsive to any questions we had during the project. Overall, we're extremely satisfied with our decision to install geothermal in our cabin and to choose A&D as our contractor. If you're looking for a reliable and experienced contractor for your HVAC or geothermal needs, look no further than A&D.
BuildZoom's Premium Service: A Game-Changer for Finding Reliable Contractors
I recently had the pleasure of using BuildZoom's services for my out of state property renovation project. I was in search of a reliable contractor and had initially planned to gather bids from recommended businesses and make a decision myself. However, after speaking with Sean, a sales associate at BuildZoom, I decided to opt for their premium service and I am so glad I did!
Upon signing up for the premium service, I was assigned a Project Manager and an Assistant PM. Both of them were extremely friendly, responsive and always well-prepared for our meetings. My APM, Jake, did an amazing job of creating a work plan, meeting all deadlines and was very accommodating when I requested changes. He scheduled all contractor meetings at my convenience and ensured that we received bids in a timely manner.
It became apparent that I needed the expertise of my PM, Alex, when we received 3 bids with a price range of $78K. Alex was extremely knowledgeable in all technical aspects of the project and was able to answer all my questions regarding the details of the bids. He successfully leveled the bids, made pertinent inquiries of each contractor to clarify their proposed work and thoroughly explained the contract details.
Both Jake and Alex played a significant role in identifying the ideal contractor, negotiating more reasonable terms to the payment schedule and making excellent suggestions for moving forward successfully. This process was definitely much easier with BuildZoom's premium service and the help of these gentlemen than it would have been alone, even if I was local.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the services provided by BuildZoom. The premium service was worth every penny and I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable contractor. The professionalism, expertise and responsiveness of the BuildZoom team made my renovation project a success. Thank you BuildZoom!
Disappointing Experience with BuildZoom for Construction Needs: Lack of Communication and Follow-Through
I recently tried out BuildZoom for my construction project needs. I filled out the request form and was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call and text message almost immediately. The person on the other end of the line spoke with me for a good 45 minutes, assuring me that they could find at least three builders for my project. I was then put in touch with a managing agent named Adrian, who was supposed to help me recruit the contractors.
Adrian and I spoke briefly, and he told me that the first person I spoke with had taken excellent notes on our conversation. However, I was disappointed to find out that I would only receive my list of three qualified contractors within 4-5 business days. I agreed to hold off on hiring another contractor until they could find one for me, which was a mistake.
When I finally heard back from Adrian, he informed me that he had only found one contractor as the others in their system did not have high enough satisfaction ratings. He scheduled a meeting with the single contractor for the following Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. and said he would continue to search for more qualified contractors. He also asked if I needed any additional work done, but I told him I did not.
Unfortunately, the contractor did not show up for the scheduled meeting, and I did not receive any follow-up from BuildZoom. I was disappointed with the lack of communication and follow-through from the company. I would caution others to be aware of the possible waste of time when using BuildZoom for their construction needs.
Disappointing Experience with New Day Construction Company LLC, Recommended by BuildZoom
BuildZoom hooked me up with a contractor, and I went with New Day Construction Company LLC, owned by Carlos Zumara. At first, things seemed to be going well, but then Carlos started bringing in his family members who didn't seem to know what they were doing. His brother-in-law put up some tile in my kitchen that didn't line up in the corners, and the tiles were all wavy. Plus, the ceiling in my living and dining room was all wonky - it started out narrow on one end and got wider as you looked down the room. Carlos also broke my whale tale fin pedestal in my bathroom, and I can't find a replacement for it.
To top it all off, my husband hired Carlos to build me a She Shed loft bed for my birthday in October. He charged us a nice price that was supposed to include carpeting, but we never got the carpeting, and he never finished the work on the She Shed. He's been working on our house since June of 2022, and it's now November of 2022, and he's still not done. He's used up all the upfront money that the contract called for, except for the last $4,000 that I owe him, which he's been begging for but won't get until the job is done.
BuildZoom really let me down on this one. I interviewed about 8 contractors, and I chose New Day Construction based on their recommendation. But now I feel like I'm living in a nightmare. Carlos has abandoned the job now that he has another job working elsewhere, and I'm stuck with a half-finished remodel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and my birthday present.
BuildZoom: A Website to Avoid for Contractors and Construction Companies
So, I was doing my usual thing, googling my company's name, and I was shocked to see a negative review on the top of the search results. I've been in business for over a decade, and I've never had a negative review before. But this one was different. It was written by someone named "Shanelle," who I've never met, and who has never worked for my company. The review was just a bunch of generic negative comments, with no specific information about my company or the work we do.
The review was on a website called BuildZoom, which I had never heard of before. I did some digging and found out that BuildZoom is a website that collects information about construction companies and contractors, and allows people to post reviews about them. I was surprised to see that BuildZoom had a "profile" of my business, with a partial list of building permits that I had pulled over the last 23 years, along with personal information about my clients, including their addresses and job costs.
I was even more surprised to see that some of the information on my profile was inaccurate. They had the wrong location for my business, and some of the information about my license was incorrect. It seems like they're just compiling information from public records and then assigning a "score" based on their partial and inaccurate findings.
When I contacted BuildZoom to ask them to remove the fake review, they told me that I needed to sign up for their site and complete my profile before they would even consider removing the review. I did what they asked, but it was a hassle. And even after I completed my profile, they still refused to remove my company's name, listing, and profile from their website.
It's frustrating because this fake review has done real damage to my business. Even though BuildZoom eventually removed the review from their website, it still shows up at the top of the Google search results when people search for my company's name. And because it has a one-star graphic next to it, it looks like my company has a terrible reputation.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with BuildZoom. They seem more interested in collecting and sharing information than in helping businesses like mine. And their process for removing fake reviews is a joke. If you're a contractor or construction company, I would recommend staying far away from BuildZoom.
Disappointing Experience with BuildZoom: Lack of Communication and Follow-Up
My hubby heard about this service called BuildZoom that hooks up peeps with local contractors for home remodel projects, big or small. He gave them a buzz and talked to a dude named *. asked a bunch of questions about what we wanted to do and said he would find three contractors with good references in our area and call us back in a week. He also said he would call the three companies for us and set up appointments for them to come to our crib and talk about our design ideas.
True to his word, called us back in a week with three company names. He told us about the history of the three companies and gave us reference info. We were cool with calling all three companies to set up home appointments.
But only one of the contractors called us back. We never heard from the other two. Meanwhile, we found two other contractors from other places and felt good about the number of companies we had lined up for estimates on our big kitchen remodel project.
We met with the one contractor and were super impressed with how they listened to our design ideas and gave us great recommendations to meet our project goals. The next step was to pick out cabinets and countertops so they could give us a bid. We made our selections.
called us soon after the first contractor visit and asked how we felt about it. We told him we were happy with the contractor and the BuildZoom service. But after that, we never heard from the contractor again. We tried to get in touch with them many times by phone, email, and text to find out what was going on with our project. We also tried to contact and other peeps from BuildZoom, but nobody ever got back to us.
We have no idea what happened or why nobody would talk to us. We're really bummed out by the lack of communication from BuildZoom and *. We can't believe a company like this would drop the ball like they did.
We would never recommend BuildZoom.
Buildzoom's Policy on Third-Party Reviews is Frustrating and Dishonest
Buildzoom is a website that allows people to leave reviews of contractors they have hired. This is a great idea because it allows people to share their experiences with others who may be looking for a contractor. However, Buildzoom has a policy that they will not accept reviews from people who were not directly involved with the contractor. This means that if your neighbor hired a contractor and that contractor damaged your property, you cannot leave a review on Buildzoom.
This policy is very frustrating for people who have been adversely affected by a contractor. For example, if a contractor built a fence on your neighbor's property but used your property to do so, you cannot leave a review on Buildzoom. This is despite the fact that the contractor trespassed on your property and damaged it in the process. This is a criminal offense under Alaska law, but Buildzoom does not seem to care.
The moderation team at Buildzoom is responsible for enforcing this policy. They refuse to accept reviews from adversely affected third parties, even if the contractor committed a criminal offense. This is very dishonest because it means that the general public is not getting all the information they need to make an informed decision about a contractor. If a contractor has a history of damaging property or trespassing, people should know about it before they hire that contractor.
It is also worth noting that Buildzoom has had 67 complaints filed against them through the Better Business Bureau in the past 3 years. This is not a good sign and suggests that Buildzoom may not be a trustworthy website. If you are looking for a contractor, it is important to do your research and not rely solely on reviews from websites like Buildzoom.

BuildZoom Review: A Company That Preys on Inexperienced Homeowners
So, I was looking for some help with my home renovation project and came across BuildZoom. At first, I was impressed with their website and the services they offered. However, things quickly turned sour when I told them that I wasn't interested in paying for their project management services.
I mean, come on, why should I pay them extra money on top of what I'm already paying my general contractor? It just didn't make sense to me. But as soon as I said that, they seemed to lose interest in helping me out. They said they would pass my information along to some local contractors, but I could tell they weren't really invested in finding me the right fit.
Fast forward a week later, and I get an email from them saying that there's no one in my area who can help me. Really? I find that hard to believe. I think they just didn't want to put in the effort because they knew they weren't going to make any extra money off of me.
Honestly, I feel like BuildZoom is one of those companies that preys on people who don't have a lot of experience with contractors. They make it seem like they're going to help you find the perfect match, but in reality, they're just looking to make a quick buck. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Unprofessional and Scam Artists: My Experience with BuildZoom
I've had my fair share of home renovations, and let me tell you, BuildZoom is not a company I would recommend. They are the epitome of unprofessionalism and seem to be nothing more than a group of scam artists. I paid them for their services, and we agreed on all the details both in writing and verbally. However, they conveniently forgot what they agreed to and walked off the job.
To make matters worse, they then proceeded to send me blackmail texts. The first one was a real doozy - they wished me good luck finding anyone to finish the job for under $10,000. Can you believe that? And if that wasn't bad enough, they then had the audacity to demand $5000 in cash, an additional $2000 for the scope of work, and $3000 for "wasting their time."
I have to say, Marc is quite the smooth talker. He'll say all the right things to get you to trust him, but in the end, he'll just run off with your money and leave you with a big mess to clean up.
Overall, I would strongly advise against using BuildZoom for any home renovation projects. They are not to be trusted and will only cause you headaches and heartache. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reputable company to work with.
Disappointing Experience with BuildZoom's Premium Service: Inflated Prices and Lack of Transparency
We decided to give BuildZoom a try and signed up for their premium service. We were hoping to find a reliable contractor to build our dream home. Unfortunately, our experience with BuildZoom was not a positive one.
We were introduced to three contractors through BuildZoom, and each one quoted us a price of around $700,000 to $900,000 to build our home. We were told that BuildZoom would receive a breakdown by line and compare the construction costs from each contractor. However, the bids we received from BuildZoom were inflated to $1.2 million to $1.7 million from the same contractors. We were shocked and disappointed by this sudden increase in price.
We tried to get more information from BuildZoom about why the bids were so much higher, but we never received any line amounts or a justification for the inflated price. We felt like we were left in the dark and had no idea why the contractors were suddenly charging so much more.
To make matters worse, we paid $7,000 for BuildZoom's services, but we didn't receive any new information or lower costing bids. We felt like we wasted our time and money on a service that didn't deliver what it promised.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our experience with BuildZoom. We would not recommend this service to anyone looking for a reliable contractor. The inflated prices and lack of transparency left us feeling frustrated and let down.

Warning: Do Not Hire Grace Creek Construction/Diamond Flooring and Remodeling for Your Remodeling Needs
I recently used BuildZoom to hire Grace Creek Construction for a bathroom remodel. The owner, Andrew Schmit, had his business listed under another name, Diamond Flooring and Remodeling. Unfortunately, my experience with him was not a positive one. He left the job incomplete and took my money. To my dismay, I discovered a review from 2017 where he did the same thing to another homeowner. He started the job and then stopped showing up or returning calls. When I was able to get through to him, he claimed to have medical issues. I found a review on porch.com/roanoke that described the exact same experience I had with him. It's clear that this man and his company should not be listed or referred for any job. If you don't want to experience being taken for your money and incomplete work, I strongly advise against using him. It's time to quit advertising him and protect other homeowners from having the same negative experience.
Disappointing Experience with BuildZoom: Promised Three Quotes, Received One and Poor Communication
So, I was looking for some contractors to help me with my project and I stumbled upon BuildZoom. They promised me three quotes from different contractors, but unfortunately, I didn't receive any. They only provided me with one contractor, Neal the Builder and Family LLC. I was hoping for more options, but I decided to give it a try anyway.
Neal the Builder and Family LLC asked me for $18,000 upfront to accomplish clearing and excavation. I was a bit hesitant to pay that much without an official quote or contract, so I suggested a local excavator who could do the job for a much cheaper price. To my surprise, Neal the Builder and Family LLC sent me a text message saying that he is quitting the project. I was disappointed, but I'm glad I found out early on instead of in the middle of the project.
It's been almost a month since then, and BuildZoom hasn't followed up with me at all. I'm really disappointed with their service. I was hoping for more options and better communication, but I didn't get any of that. I think they failed me as a customer.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend BuildZoom to anyone. It's better to find a contractor on your own than to rely on their promises. Contractors are hard to find, but it's better to take your time and find the right one than to rush into a bad deal. I would give BuildZoom zero stars if I could.
Warning: Stay Away from This Company - Terrible Service and Hidden Fees
This company ain't good, let me tell you. They take your money upfront, $2k to be exact, and then they send you a contract. But guess what? They change it without telling you and then they bill your credit card without your knowledge. And that's not even the worst part. They increase the payments too! Can you believe it? They just want your money and they don't care about you.
They gave us three contractors, but one of them never even did a bid. And the other two? They were way too expensive, like $50k more than what's normal. And they didn't even have experience building tiny homes like ours. What a waste of time!
And don't even get me started on the meetings. They were in the wrong time zones! How are you supposed to have a meeting when you're not even in the same time zone? And their info was outdated too. They must have just googled Home Depot or something. And the contractors they sourced were just poor quality.
We paid $7200 for nothing. Literally nothing. We wasted our time with two outrageous bids and no work done. We had to start from scratch after wasting two months and thousands of dollars with them.
If you don't believe me, just Google their lawsuits. You'll see why they're so bad.
Terrible Experience with BuildZoom: Contractor Failed to Finish Job and No Support Offered
I recently had a terrible experience with BuildZoom. I hired a contractor through their website and paid them $19,000 to complete a job. Unfortunately, the contractor did not finish the job and the workers they sent out did not know how to do the job properly. We went through five different fence people and the fence still isn't finished. We also went through two different concrete companies and the work they did was incorrect, so I will have to have it redone. The job was supposed to be completed in about 60 days, but it has now been four months and it is still not finished.
When I contacted BuildZoom to report the issue, all they said was sorry and that they won't use that contractor anymore. I was shocked that they didn't offer any assistance in recovering my money. I did some research on the company myself (which I thought BuildZoom would have done) and found out that they have filed for bankruptcy, have no assets, no backup money, and own nothing. I would have expected BuildZoom to check the contractors more thoroughly and offer some assistance in recovering my money.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with BuildZoom and will never use them or recommend them to anyone. We have been robbed and taken advantage of, and BuildZoom allowed it to happen. I hope that they will improve their vetting process for contractors and offer better support to their customers in the future.
Buildzoom Premium Membership: A Complete Waste of Money
I recently signed up for the "Premium" membership on buildzoom.com, hoping to find a reliable contractor for my building project. The idea of having a building professional help me review proposals and estimates sounded great. However, my experience with buildzoom was far from satisfactory.
At first, I was impressed with how quickly buildzoom learned about my project and started looking for contractors. However, I soon realized that contractors in this market are not very responsive, and I had to constantly pester them to get an estimate. I was hoping that buildzoom would help me with this, but instead, I found myself having to pester them as well.
Over the course of two months, buildzoom managed to get zero estimates, even though four different contractors came to review the project. I was extremely disappointed, especially considering the fact that I had paid over $1000 for the "Premium membership". It felt like a complete scam, and I regretted wasting my time and money on it.
To make matters worse, buildzoom never followed up with the contractors, even after I had pestered them to do so. It seemed like they were just posing and posturing as if they were doing work, but in reality, they did nothing and delivered nothing.
In conclusion, I would not recommend buildzoom to anyone looking for a reliable contractor. The "Premium membership" is a complete waste of money, and the company does not deliver on its promises. Save yourself the trouble and look for a different service.
BuildZoom: Unreliable and Unsafe Contractor Referral Service
So, I was trying to find a contractor for my home renovation project and decided to give BuildZoom a try. They promised to refer up to 4 contractors to me, but they only referred one. And guess what? This contractor had a criminal record for theft and burglary! Can you believe it? I was shocked and disappointed. I mean, I was hoping that BuildZoom would do some background checks before referring contractors to their users. But it seems like they don't care about the safety of their users.
Luckily, I decided to do some research on my own and found out about the contractor's criminal record. I immediately cancelled the meeting for an estimate and pulled my project from their site. I don't want to take any chances with my safety and security. I've already had a nightmare experience with a criminal contractor in the past (not through BuildZoom), and I don't want to go through that again.
I was really hoping that BuildZoom would be different and better than other contractor referral services out there. But it looks like they're just as useless and unreliable. They don't seem to care about their users' safety and security. All they care about is making money and getting good reviews. After I informed them about the criminal contractor they referred to me, all they did was say "Sorry about that" and send me a survey on how satisfied I was with their service. Seriously? That's all they could do?
So, my advice to anyone looking for a contractor is to be very careful and do your own research. Don't rely on BuildZoom or any other referral service to do the background checks for you. You never know who they might refer to you. Always check the contractor's credentials, licenses, and references. And most importantly, check their criminal record. Don't take any chances with your safety and security.
Disappointing Experience with BuildZoom: Unreliable and Unresponsive
I was in the market for a contractor to help me with my building project and stumbled upon BuildZoom. It seemed like the perfect solution for me, as they promised to send at least three contractors for my project after I paid an upfront fee of $1500. They also claimed to work with the contractor to reduce any additional costs to the project, which sounded great to me.
However, my experience with BuildZoom was far from satisfactory. They only sent me two contractors, and two of them didn't even show up. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with their lack of follow-up to ensure a meeting between the contractor and me. I even called one of the contractors who didn't show up to ask why, and he told me that he never received any follow-up from BuildZoom regarding the location, time, etc.
Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed with BuildZoom's services and decided to fire them. I requested a refund for not receiving the required three contractors, but they had already charged me the $1500 upfront fee before fulfilling their obligation. I reached out to them for a refund, but unsurprisingly, I received no response.
In my opinion, it's better to avoid companies like BuildZoom altogether. They don't seem to follow through on their promises and are very cavalier about their approach. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable contractor for their building project.
