Everything from overwhelming orders, to needing to hire more production staff, to COVID. Last email was my $800 order would ship "early October." It's now been over four months. Only one star because that is the lowest I can rate. Placed order on 6/9, informed due to volume shipment would be delayed. When questioned when the order would ship, I was informed by 8/28. As of 10/12, have not receive shipment. Questioned when I could anticipate order shipping. Informed on 9/29 that my order would be expedited. As of 10/12, nothing, no communication about order shipping. Would not recommend purchasing from Byrna. Requested refund, will see if they are ethical and issue refund.

Customers' funds were held for 15 weeks, with some waiting 17 weeks. The company's lack of ethics became apparent as they prioritized larger contracts, sidelining smaller clients. Their license to sell was questioned due to deceptive practices and profiting from interest on prepaid orders. After a prolonged period, refunds were offered, but requests for interest compensation were ignored, highlighting their disregard for fair customer treatment.

As someone who deals with customer service and tech services due to the nature of my business, Byrna support was quick to get a live person onto the Live Chat on their site. *** read and responded quickly to all questions, whether general or technical.The only problem I have is that the Eco-kenetic projectiles, although priced well, are not accurate. My goal in target practice is proficiency, not easy clean up. I would not recommend these projectiles for pistol practice unless price is an issue. They are probably great for the long launchers.

I get being busy but they should have just said "sold out" at the beginning so I wouldn't have bothered. I don't dare cancel because now people are asking $800 on ***. They created a ridiculous demand for these things and they claimed to have hired all these people. How long can it take to make this plastic thing? No offer of a discount of any type and a 6-8 week wait for ammo. So why would I even think that 6-8 weeks is accurate considering they lied about the other item? What ever happened to accountability?

They took my money right away. said it could be 10+ weeks for delivery. then they posted on their website orders could be delayed 12 weeks. then they posted on websight all orders prior to june 25 would be filled by september 28. as of sept 28 , the took that postiong down. called office on sept 30, they said they were working on my order and it would go out monday, called oct 5 they said orders were delayed but they were working on mine, they said i was very close to shipping, i contacted them again on the oct 6th said orders may ship between oct 15th to the 30th, but thwey could not give me any information.

Absolutely the worst business model I have ever seen in a business' handling of accessory merchandise! While I understand that the pistol launchers may be made to order, and take time assembling, there should be no reason for the 8 week *** delay in ammunition or other accessories. This tells me that they are operating on a very tight budget, ie...take the money up front, use a portion to pay off loans and liabilities, and only then invest/ acquire materials for your order. The *** products are considered "Non-Lethal Weapons" and are not "sensitive items" that are governed by *** (yet). I am unimpressed by their inability to deliver peripheral items aside from the main component. These items should be kept on stock instead of *** accruing interest off of your investment to deliver months later!
I ordered two Byrna guns in May
I ordered two Byrna guns in May . The first gun I returned because after inspection I deemed it unreliable. They refunded my money on the first gun. The second gun fired alright the first time used. When I got done there was a CS projectile stuck in the mag and the projectile release lever wasn't functioning. The magazine was therefore inoperable. I sent the gun back to be repaired and when it was returned it was still defective. I then contacted them again and they replied that it was in working condition and the guy that "repaired" the gun tested it and it was in working order I bought this for my mom for protection while I'm gone on deployments. I told them I am a *** Army Infantryman and I know how weapons are supposed to operate. I wanted a refund but they were unwilling to do so. I just returned from deployment in November and decided to write this so others would know how this company operates.

I should have done better research before dealing with this company. After receiving my unit I watched a lot of reviews on *** both good and bad... however, there were more bad reviews on this less-lethal than positive... many of the issues had to do with the launcher miss feeding as well as other issues. Since this was going to be for my wife there is a concern for her safety as well as other factors. Such as when you are dealing with a threat you are not going to have time to deal with a launcher that is not going to work or launch once and have to pull the trigger twice to get another round to launch. I sent 2 requests for an *** or return authorization each time waiting 48 hours. I have never received an ***... I tried contacting the company and they may have a number but no one answers or returns calls. I have sent email after email without any response. They have a 60-day money-back guarantee which at this point is bogus since you cannot even get an ***. My suggestion is not to do business with this company who indicates nice things on their website but fails to live up to those promises.

Made my Order on May 30th. On June 25th, I got a notification that my item was "ready to ship, awaiting ***". This was the case for 18 days. I contacted the company, who I advised it was waiting to ship and asked when I could expect it to ship and wondering why it hadn't shipped yet. I was concerned because I spent 500 dollars and wanted to know where my item was. They told me it did ship and it was in transit. I told them the tracking number they provided did not say that. Then I was told it did not ship, that they take pride in their items and my product was being tested for safety purposes. I then asked again why it was taking so long, they told me their supervisor would get in contact with me. Someone then did get in contact with me and gave me an incorrect tracking number and claimed it had shipped. This tracking number wasn't even a real tracking number and nothing came up when I used it to check. I then checked the original tracking number again, and it still says it has not shipped and is awaiting shipment. No one will give me an answer about where my package is, when I can expect it, and no one has shown any concern. I spent 500 dollars! I has now been a month and a half and I have no idea where it is.

Had the (apparently common) problem of chemical rounds cracking in the magazine. Also found both of my magazines to be defective (cannot remove the baseplates with any amount of force).Could not get anyone at Byrna on the phone. Emailed them, and was told:"Everything we sold to Amazon is the new Chemical Rounds and we do not normally replace them (see below). ... We recommend that when you load them into your magazine, take care to ensure that none of the seams between the 2 colors are resting on another projectile. This will reduce the risk of the projectiles splitting."-and-"Please review page(s) 13 and/or 14 in your Byrna owners manual. There you will find step by step instructions how to take apart the Mag Clip and put it back together. Sometimes the spring in the Mag Clips can get twisted and/or jammed and they just need to be reset and straighten out. We do not replace the Mag Clip since they are fixable."So, there's a known risk of projectiles splitting in the magazine even based on how they're LOADED... And: despite being a brand new, unused unit, Byrna won't replace factory-defective components because "they are fixable" ?! Ridiculous. My Byrna SD came with 5 chemical rounds, and Byrna wasn't even interested in replacing those... I replied and told Byrna that their response was not acceptable, and I never heard back from them (as of this review).At the end of the day, my TL;DR opinion echoes many of the other 1-star reviews: I would not trust my safety to a device with such known issues. If the chemical rounds can't even be relied on to not split in the magazine under normal conditions, that's a design flaw (or a defect), and that's not something you want from a self-defense product of this nature.

So i again contacted them and was told the same. Once again it did not. A third time also. I then tried to get a refund to no avail. They do not answer their phones and they have turned their chat off on their website. I have messaged on *** and emailed them several times. Please help me resolve this issue as i have tried all avenues. They hold $422 of my money with no action on their part.
On 6/12 I ordered a Byrna non-lethal defense system and extra co2 cartridges. I finally received my Byrna system the end of October but the extra cartridges not included. I have sent the company 3 emails asking for the completion of my order for which I was charged. I receive an email in response that they will send it to their complaint department and I never hear. From them. The latest email indicated that they would check the tracking of my order. How do you check the tracking of something that was never sent? I just want the extra co2 cartridges I ordered and was charged for.
Order Number BYRN29634 was placed on 7/26 for $977.97. The order included a Byrna HD Pepper kit, CO2 cartridges, laser sight, and projectiles. A partial shipment was dispatched on 11/27, followed by another on 1/6. Since then, no further shipments have been sent. The product is non-functional without the remaining items. Customer service has been contacted three times since 1/6. The first customer representative indicated that the final shipment would be sent by 2/12. A second representative promised delivery by 3/30, and a third assured that the shipment would occur by 4/21. However, as of 4/28, the shipment has not been received.

I ordered products from this company in July and my order is still not fulfilled. I keep getting the run around on back order products, however there are orders that are identical that have been completely fulfilled that were placed after my order that are identical with no back orders including extended warranty coverage (Friends and neighbors who ordered weeks after I placed my order documented and delivered). My items were paid for in full in July and zero efforts are made to resolve despite my numerous attempts at communication with the company including direct e-mails to the owner.

Byrna will not honor their money back guarantee. Per their web page (***), one must complete an online form to return their product(s), then you will be contacted. After one month and numerous emails, online form completions, phone calls (usually unanswered), and online chats, Byrna refuses to contact me with instructions on how and where to send my defective product. When calling Byrna, rarely is it possible to talk to a real person. A voice mail must be left, then wait for them to contact me. Three times I've talked to a real person, and said person promised I would be contacted by their return department personnel very soon. After one month and several efforts, Byrna has not contacted me by phone or email with instructions on how to return the products so as to get a refund. I believe Byrna is refusing to honor their money back guarantee and are operating their business in a fraudulent, deceptive, and dishonest manner.

A Byrna HD Pepper Kit was purchased on 06/24 and delivered on 07/27. Upon testing, the product's reliability was questionable as it did not fire projectiles consistently. Multiple trigger pulls were required for a single shot. I contacted the company's customer service and received confirmation on 09/28. A follow-up email on 10/01 indicated the issue would be addressed by their service team. A phone call to customer service on 10/06 resulted in a promise to escalate the issue to the technical department with an expected response within 48 hours. However, I have yet to receive a return shipping label or authorization number.

To date, there has been no *** issued and the only email asks if I want to update a current sales order for purchase.I believe Byrna is guilty of fraudulent marketing practices and is intentionally waiting for my request to go past the 60-day threshold so it can be denied. Yet another response was returned on day 8 of waiting for a refund (November 6) indicating that the company would look into why the refund had not yet been processed. I can provide any and all dated documentation regarding this order, its cancellation and my repeated requests for a refund.

The first time I used the product it malfunctioned and did not work properly. I contacted Byrna through their online chat and followed the instructions they gave me to submit a service request- then they will send me what they call a RMA#. I sent Byrna my service request on 11/8. Byrna to this date 12/8 has not sent me a RMA #. I have contacted Byrna several times via online chat letting them know I want to return my purchase- Byrna continues to tell me they will resolve my issue, yet they have not contacted me or sent me a RMA # so I can return the defective product I purchased. I believe this is unethical business practices, preventing and delaying the return of defective products from a consumer. All I am asking, is to return my purchase and have Byrna refund my money.

Purchased a Byrna HD Max Kit with laser for my wife for a price of $607.99.( Order ***) Waited 13 weeks for delivery which is OK since I was told but when trying out the weapon for the first time to show my wife, it would only shoot a projectile when it decided. I Requested a RMA which I received and mailed the unit to *** for repairs. Received the repaired weapon, I again set up the unit according to the instructions to show it to my wife. This time the weapon would not fire at all. I requested a RMA to return the kit and get my money back. When contacting Byrna by email or phone regarding the RMA, I receive nothing but a runaround, it would take 5 days! 8 Days! 10 Days! now it has been 2 weeks. My wife does not want the weapon anymore, she just will not thrust it so this why I am requesting my money back. Last week, I sent a email with all the details and all the communications that was done on chat or email.I have not received any communication back.

There business appears to be a scam. They charge your card for payment and never ship your product, ever. My original order was placed on October 28, however, the order was never shipped or received as of December 13. I contacted *** with support regarding this fact, and she stated, "Hi ***, in our terms and conditions, where you checked it in order to place your order, it tells you that we charge upon order placement. Because we make these to order, we charge at time of order. Thank you so much.", and then disconnected me from support. I didn't realize it at first and asked "Where is the product? I have not received it as of Today, December 13, over 1-1/2 months. We will only be at this location until December 25, then we will be on a boat in the Bahamas." Nine (9) minutes later, I stated, "Are you still there?". If there are others that have been scammed by this company, please write about your story and file a complaint with the State Attorney General. They took my money and never shipped the product.

I was told that it would take 10+ weeks to fulfill these orders. Since then I have received no email updates despite promises to do so on the company website. My latest attempt to inquire as to the status of these orders has been unsuccessful as the chat function on the company's website is offline. I have also left a voicemail and written an email inquiring about the same with no return call or email response. I wish to cancel my order and receive a full refund because the products are taking substantially longer to be delivered with no estimated date of shipment. After reading similar complaints from other customers, I feel that a refund is the only logical option for me. I do not wish to conduct business with this company in the future because of my experience and if I were to take delivery of the product I would be obligated to do so because the cartridges they sell are proprietary.

From the ad I had expected a delivery within 2 weeks at most. Please cancel the order and return the monies to my account. Thank you, *** I have received no further correspondence from them via email and the phone number suppllied rings and then goes to a voice mail. In the interim, they have placed a hold for 349.00 on my checking account at my bank. At this point I'd not want their product if it was FREE! I just want them to release their hold on my funds. I purchased several items from the Byrna website
I purchased several items from the Byrna website. They specialize in non lethal papperball guns called the Launcher. I made a total purchase of $388.99 on June 10 (order ***). I waited patiently for the items to arrive, but started losing my patients after 4 months of being strung along. Usually my communication was through chat support. I was told on several occasions that my order was only a few weeks away. It was even posted on their website at one point that items ordered at around the date that I purchased would be sent out in September . But they could not fulfill their orders, they deleted their statement. I contacted them on October 22 and advised them that I waited too long and just wanted a refund. They told me they would refund my original form of payment within 3-5 business days, but it never showed on my account. I called them and left several messages. But they never returned my calls. I emailed them, they did not respond to my email. Their customer service was terrible. They advertise on their website that their launchers are in stock. That is a lie. And I have yet to receive my money back. I am very disappointed in this company that not only never delivered a product, but have not paid me back.

Order stated delivery within 8-10 weeks. 09/26 Received text msg accessories to ship "right away" and everything else to follow within 2 weeks. 10/13 I sent email to Byrna requesting status of order. 10/24 another text message will "ship by end of October". On/or about 10/31 received partial order, missing complete product. 11/05 Phone call to Byrna, (***) informed no tracking order or item has been received. Was promised will "ship within 2 weeks", informed *** that that promise was made before. 11/08 I sent Byrna email requesting status update and if not received soon I wanted to return and receive full refund 11/14 Requested RMA from website due to incomplete order to return all product in Unopened package 11/17 Received another text message "order will be shipped in 2 weeks". 11/17 Sent message again requesting RMA and Full Refund 11/28 Message left with Byrna again requested RMA 11/30 Message left with Byrna AGAIN requesting RMA 12/04 Phone call from Byrna, regarding my message, again requested RMA. To date, 12/10 I have not received the "required" RMA from Byrna to return partial order in original unopened package. Communication with Byrna has been nearly one sided, and then false promises. No longer want to complete this order but to receive a full refund.

As someone who deals with customer service and tech services due to the nature of my business, Byrna support was quick to get a live person onto the Live Chat on their site. *** read and responded quickly to all questions, whether general or technical.The only problem I have is that the Eco-kenetic projectiles, although priced well, are not accurate. My goal in target practice is proficiency, not easy clean up. I would not recommend these projectiles for pistol practice unless price is an issue. They are probably great for the long launchers.
