July 18, 2023 - went for an oil change to 5764 Tecumseh Road East, in Windsor, Ontario. Addition services were offered and I approved the work. I was informed the thermastat housing was broken and had arrived that way. The mechanic had been working on the car for a bit of time at this point. I would not have been able to drive the car with this part broken. Mr. Lube was the only people who had worked on my car. After paying $1,090.31, my car started running hot and losing oil. I had to have my car towed and repaired elsewhere for an additional $408.75. When I went back to Mr. Lube to complain, only one mechanic was honest enough to tell me that were responsible for breaking the part.
Desired outcome: I would like Mr. Lube to compensate me for the part that had to be replaced and for the towing of my car, which would not have needed if that part had not been broken by your mechanics
Mr. Lube Canada - Damage to engine during oil change
Nov 13 2022 got oil change at Mr lube #55. after change when I got home I noticed oil dripping on driveway. thought it was probably spillage during change. had to leave town and finally returned to Mr Lube on dec 2.
Dec 2 was told to come back on the Monday. told them about the leak. they checked to car over and replaced oil filter. they refilled oil. leak continued and returned a second time for them to fix issue.
Dec 12 manager checked car and said there was no oil change issue saw oil and suggested it was coming from control arm (impossible) stopped at garage and their inspection found they damaged the oil fill cover. either seals or cracked cover. can't confirm till they start work. called owner and he investigated. called back and said they followed procedure and its not their fault.
Dec 15, contacted Mr Lube corporate, customer service. explained issue. Said they would escalate complaint to manager. don't do repair or it will void warranty. could take up to 10 days for response.
Dec 23 and Dec 24. tried to contact corporate, no answer
Jan 3/ 2023 finally got ahold of corporate customer service and they said someone should have responded by now. told me she would tell manager I wanted to escalate complaint. took my email for faster/easier response.
The owner knows it is their issue. garage told me there have been several same issues recently.
Simple fix is to pay for the repair that they caused. Not to mention the oil covered driveway.
Desired outcome: pay for the repair and cleanup of driveway
