inchworm floating on top inside of can
I opened a can of campbell's select harvest clam chowder and found an inchworm floating on top inside the can. I thought it was dead, but I scooped it out and it was very much alive. I called campbell's and they took down my information and offered to send me a coupon. I refused any coupons, because I can never bring myself to purchase another one of their soups again.
I wanted to post this so that everyone is aware that it happened and if bugs in your soup is a turn-off avoid buying campbells.
I didn't see the pic I posted so here it is.

disgusting masses in soup
About a week or two ago, I went to wal-mart and purchased 10 cans of soup to take to work everyday for lunch. I would have never thought that that moment would be my last time purchasing soup ever again from campbell’s. Today (7/1/2008) I heated up a 1lb. 2.8oz can of 'chunky' beef with white and wild rice to eat for lunch. After about the third scoop, I came across a huge heavy piece of fat with small chucks of beef connected to it. This massive piece of fat made me sick to my stomach! It looked similar to a quarter size of a human forearm muscle made of just fat alone. It had shape and definition just like a muscle and looked like a small piece of a cow’s body part. I will never ever purchase any of campbell’s products ever again; I will probably never ever eat "canned soup" again period. I was not only shocked but I was hurt and disappointed. I would probably never eat soup again from anywhere or made by anyone until i'm just over what happened today. That's it for me and cambell's forever! Don't buy there products.
Your latest add with the gentleman in classroom and the LA Ram coach chastising him for eating tuna. Then has the audacity to compare the protein to be higher in a FULL can of chucky soup than that of tuna.. 5 ounce can of tuna has 22 grams of protein and your crap soup, 19 grams in 18.8 ounce can.. so let's do the math shall we... 15 ounces of tuna, 3 Cans (3.8 ounces less that your crap soup) has 66 grams of protein. Why do you choose to lie instead of advertising that the soup is a nice warm meal and is nice substitute. But no, you choose to mislead, to lie and brainwash... SHAME ON YOU
Campbell's beef and potato curry has so much sugar in it, I was sent to emergency and I am not a diabetic... this stuff is [censored]... do not buy it...
Campbell's chunky beef and potato curry had so much sugar in it I had to go to emergency... I am not diabetic but this [censored] tipped me over the edge... Please, don't buy it it is CRAP!
Today I tried the Campbell's Chunky Beef and Vegetable stew. It is downright horrible, like... I was forcing myself to eat it. Where is the flavor? I mean, the soup actually tastes BAD. I get that I am buying a $2.00 can of soup, but man... I am much better off with a 25 cent raman noodle package. I hope Campbell's reads these. I'm stuck with no lunch now as I'd rather throw this away than eat it... It looks questionable for sure.
!'m 65 years old and grew up LOVING Campbell's soup...maybe I'm just getting old but I cannot stand the taste of their Vegetable and Vegetable Beef soup anymore...it's not just that the pieces of beef ate too big and tough but the Broth has this Horrible taste that I cannot Identify...except for Cream of Chicken (that I still love) most of their soup doesn't taste like it used too especially their vegetable soup, in particular, which is now uneditable to me.
I bought creamy chicken and dumplings in Walmart. The picture on the can looked great but the soup was terrible. It was just a bunch of watery broth with hardley any noodles or chicken or vegeteables. What has happened to Campbells chunky soup? It use to be so good. They should be ashamed to advertise this soup as chunky, because it is not. Beveylee@verizon.net.

wha has happened to Campbells soups? They use to be
In your chunky jazzy jambalaya w/chicken sausage & ham.
My complaint is that there was NO SAUSAGE AT ALL. I know that, you know, We purchase your soups for its contents. I was very disappointed that my expectation was so wrong! Had bought many others of same content with all ingredients. So I was very surprised to have this happen.

I bought a 1lbs 2.8oz can of Steak and Potato soup heated it up for lunch and found a couple pieces of plastic in it never had this problem before been eating Campbells soup since I was young this is what you get from undocumented workers
Regarding Chunky Chicken Broccoli Cheese with Potato. I don't eat pork so I only purchase the soups with chicken. I am also fed up with Campbell's lying pictures vs. the actual product in the cans! The chicken pieces have more "fatty" squares than real chicken parts-UGGH! But my major concern is the black potatoes in any of the "whatever and POTATOES" cans of soup. I spend almost $2.00 per can at WalMart's for these horrible soups expecting that maybe it's a bad batch or something. However, time and time again, the black potatoes make up a large percentage of the potato content. If I peel potatoes at home and come across a black spot, I simply cut that part out - how about you doing the same Campbell's? So I'll say my goodbyes as well, and won't waste another $2.00 at Walmart's!
Like several of the people who submitted the comments I read above, I have been eating Campbell's soup for six+ decades. I grew up on Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup have some in my cabinet right now. Thinking I would try something different I purchased two cans of "Philly Style CHEESESTEAK". I just finished it. First of all I had to strain off about1/3 of the liquid to find the "chunks". The "chunky beef" looked like pieces of "beggin strips", only thinner. Don't ask me what else was in there. As far as the "broth" is concerned, any relation to philly cheesesteak is a total misconception of the company. The only thing that comes to my mind is SOS but, even that was better than this glop. As several people stated above, I have had it with Campbell's. It used to be so much better than Progresso but now it is a dead heat. They are both terrible.

Good reddens Campbell's. Sorry you have relegated company to the loss of it's quality and reputation for the almighty buck. Maybe you should put your bean counters back where they belong. On the production line.

I purchased a can of Chunky Beer-n-Cheese with Beef and Bacon. I thought good for a cool evening in front of the TV. How wrong. First the picture on the can is nothing like what is inside. There are NO chunks of beef, I found mostly potatoes (about 1/2 the can) and maybe 3 small slivers of beef (I could tell by the texture). There was no cheese flavor at all, more like just a cream soup (not even cream of anything). Don't trust your representation of your product and will never buy again. I get better from off brand at local Save-a-Lot, and better price too.

flip-tops cans are a flop
The flip-top cans are no help to us older folks with weak fingers. I have to pry up the tab with a blunt knife because my fingers aren't strong enough to pull it up. Then I have to use the knife to slide around the lid to release it for the same reason. Then I have to wash off the blood where I cut myself on the lid. And finally the can rib prevents me from getting quite a bit of the contents out unless I puncture the can's side with an old v-point can or bottle opener. I hate to waste food but I also want to recycle clean cans, not something to draw vermin or create a stench. Give me the good old can opener any day! Or a normal rim for the old can opener as the bottom of a flip-top can.

a bad can of soup
I am a big Campbells fan. Thats all I buy. But the other day I opened a can of Clam Chouder soup and heated it. It kind of smelt funny, but I didnt think anything of it. Me and my 2 kids began to eat it, when I immediatley noticed the SOUR taste. Iran to my kids bowls, but they already took a few bites. Well they were sick. Try having a 7 year old...

I have been going round and round with Campbells Soup company about the difficulty opening their soup cans (easier pull tops, right) especially the bigger, chunky soup cans. Last July I tried opening 2 cans of the Chunky soup, the first finally gave way but the second was very stubborn, using more force than should have been necessary, the can slipped and sliced the webbing between my thumb and index finger and severing an atery, of course requiring stitching. I sent the bills totaling $729 along with pictures of my hand and the soup can to Campbells. I didn't want damages or time off from work paid for, I only wanted the hospital bill paid, their last offer was $250. HOW GENEROUS! Oh... they sent me 2 coupons for 20 cents off of my next purchase of 2 or more cans of Chunky Soup too!
i wanted to try the new cheese burger soup, . opened the can.. no problem. heated it in microwave.. no problem
tasted it...yuk, tried another few spoonfuls to be sure. wow..holys^&T, who does the taste testing on this crap.
i put it down for the dog to try.. and he wanted no part of it either.

The Cambell Chunky soup I at yesterday was the worst I have ever had. The chicken was dry and the soup tasted funny. In will no longer be eating Cambells soup. The numbers on the can are [protected] [protected]. I also have another can of this soup and not sure what to do with it. I was eating this soup 3 to 6 times a week but not any more.
I bought Cambells`s Chunky Chicken Noodle soup and it was so BAD I to through it away. The chicken was hard and extreamly dry. the numbers on the can is [protected] [protected]. Since that I will no longer buy this soup which I was eating between 3 to 6 times a week. But no more will I eat this soup or any other from this Company. My e-mail is cjbalke12@yahoo.com. I also have another can of thisn soup and don`t know what to do with this can.
They were too busy spending $60 million in their advertising campaign against Progresso. I am so sorry to hear about your injury. That is pretty shocking. More shocking is their disregard for your medical bills. Best wishes.
steak and potato's campbells chunky - disgusting soup!
I purchased a can of steak and potato's campbells chunky soup. When I heated this soup it had a odd smell that filled the whole room. I then preceded to take a small bite of the heated soup with my nose over the bowl it smelled like vomit and I had a vomit aftertaste from the little bit that I tasted. I swear someone had to vomit in this soup and I just...

I purchased a can of campbell's chunky brand chicken & corn chowder on 12/4/06. Actualy, I had purchsed 6 cans of their soup in 3 varieties.
Opened the can and microwaved it and split it with my daughter. While my daughter was eating the soup she spotted something on her spoon. She wasked me what it was and I said probably a stem of some sort and took it off her spoon. I then looked at at closely and saw it was a worm! The insect looked like a maggot and was about 3/4 " long and fully intact. I called campbell's 800# on the can and they took all the info from the can and my contact info and said they would send a reimbursement check ($1.85?). I returned all of the remaining chunky soups to the store and I will not be buying their product ever again as obviously they have bad quality control. This experience was so traumatizing that I can't fathom eating a canned product of any kind ever. The customer service rep sounded like she gets these calls all the time which is truly disgusting. I purchased these products because my son plays pop warner football and always admired the commercials with all of the pro-football players and their moms. He has been asking me for chunky soup for months and for this to happen is disheartening. I am sorry but there is no excuse for an full insect to be in a can of soup. I feel as though all kinds of insects could be in their products just not detected.

Could someone please tell me how to get the red plastic lid off these soups. They do not pull up as the directions state. I love these except for the frustrations of trying to open them. I have tried to use knives as a lever and they damage the red cap. Any help would be appreciated.
Opened can of chicken and sausage gumbo soup all liquid. Six pieces of sausage and less chicken. No okra and about ten vegetables. No taste. Very disappointed.
I bit into a hard black item. Nothing like anything that is included in the soup. I had taken a few bites and threw it away after I found that. It’s disgusting.
On 8/27/23 I opened a can of vegetable soup and tried to eat it. It seems like in every can of vegetable or potato soup I get close to half the potatoes have black, bad spots. I won't be getting anymore. I'll make my own. I got the soup at a Walmart in South Williamson KY.
Eat this soup All the time I his is crazy
I bought this soup for years, and I recently bought 6 cans from my local winco, in lacey washington. Not one can had sausage or ham in it and I just thought that was odd. I feel like I wasted money at almost 5 bucks a can. I love this soup and brand but this is unexplainable.
Yes I want the Chambell's Savory Vegetable Soup back. You know the one without meat please. If I want meat I would put it in there. But if it's vegetable soup make it vegetable soup no meat please.Everybody not like meat in soup Especially when it's big chunks of meat that's not good.

We just found a medium-sized beetle in our Campbell's Italian Wedding soup this evening. My wife vomited several times, though I tried to calm her with stories of war veterans surviving on insects. It failed. Too bad there's no real recourse. Campbell's has been such a "quality" name brand for a long time; this is unfortunate.
