I sold my Thousand Trails to this company and as of today I have not received my $1800. Mel has sent me numerous emails saying she is checking on it, but still no money. My sale was completed July 2024 but the whole process started in March 2024. First sale supposedly fell through. I now have no membership and no payment, thanks a lot for blatantly ripping people off. I was anxious about selling to them and should have followed my gut. The problem is Thousand Trails mentioned them to me when i was inquiring about selling.
If you are reading this seller beware. Unsure how the buying end goes, but seems shady at the least.

Sale of TT membership, no payment
As od 6/22, Campground Membership Outlet had sold our TT membership. We were supposed to receive $2,000. On 1/25/24, I wrote and told Melissa we were moving to OK and had never been paid. She said she'd get with accounting and get back to me. Same "speal", promising a check, bookkeeper on vacation, etc. On June 3,2024, I sent a demand letter, to the address on their letterhead (Clearmont, FL), no one would sign for it. Turns out they are at the same address only in Minneola, FL.

Membership sold on 10/4/23 and have yet to recieve payment
I've been working with Melissa to sell my Thousand Trails membership. I received a letter from Thousand Trails dated 10/4/23 that the sale of my membership had been completed. A month passed and I had not received my payment so emailed Melissa and she told me the accounting department was backed up and it would take a couple more weeks for them to get caught up. Another month went by and still nothing. I emailed her again, twice, and no response. So I called and spoke to Kimberly. She verified that they owed me $1500 and told me she would send my request to accounting again and follow up with them to make sure it was completed. She said they would send me a tracking number as soon as the payment was sent. Another 3 weeks have gone by and still nothing. It's now the 3rd of January 2024. It's been 3 months. I want my money.

I did end up making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and this issue was resolved. I received a check for $1500 as promised.

In March 2023 I paid the company a fee to sell my Thousand Trails Resort membership. After many months of trying to follow up with them, with no responses, I filed a complaint with a Better Business Bureau on September 13, 2023. The BBB followed up with Campground Membership Outlet regarding that complaint several times. After receiving no response from campground membership outlet, the BBB closed my complaint with no resolution on October 21, 2023.
Desired outcome: Refund the fee that I paid.

I am submitting the same complaint as others. Started the process of selling our Thousand Trails membership in September. Have not been paid. Started process to sell our membership in September. Membership sold and it's being used. After repeated calls and emails we have not received a payment for the sale of our membership. Claim was made a check was sent which we never received and another would be sent. Same claim I see in other complaints. No one answers the phone and you have to leave a message. It takes repeated calls to get someone to call back. This is no way to run a business and I'm beginning to feel I've been scammed.

I have gotten numerous excuses and told the check is in the mail, or a new check will be issued, or I will get a tracking number and a new check, but 3 months later, I have no check, and now it seems they are not going to answer my emails either. I attached the email feed with Melissa C with dates of a statement that the checks in the mail and the original contract which was signed on 9/22. I want my check for the agreed upon $1000.

We initiated the selling of our Thousand Trails membership on April 12th. We signed the paperwork on April 16th to sell our membership for $2,000. I started following up on May 11th as we hadn't received any payment for the sale. On May 12th, we received the following email: I do see that we just received the letter confirming the transfer is now complete and accounting does already have your file. Your check will be processed and mailed in the next 5-7 business days. Thank you Melissa C Camp Ground Membership Outlet On May 26th, I followed up again as we hadn't received anything still and received the following email: I do show that your check was mailed on 05/24 to the address that we have on file for you. You should be receiving it in the next couple days. I have reached out again twice - once on June 4th and 9th and haven't received any response nor any payment.

We bought a National Thousand Trails - Elite Membership from Ed for $5,465 on 9/20 through Kimberly at Campground Membership Outlet, Inc. Expected receipt was around 10/8. We tried contacting the Outlet via email and phone during 10/11 - 10/15 to no avail after not getting transfer updates. We left many messages without a reply. On 10/14, we called National Thousand Trails. They found no transfer record to our name or any submission. Additionally, Ed's membership was transferred to someone else.

Campresale notified me that they had a buyer for my TT contract that would net me $1000..I sent them the signed paperwork on September 8. I received notice from TT that the contract had been transferred on 12/16. I emailed Campresale on January 26 asking about the payment. Melissa said it was being sent. Several other follow ups failed in getting the check. I called and received no return call.

Response Dec 31 Promised a check in 5-7 days. Jan 27, 2021 Requested check again. Jan 30 response sorry backed up will mail check today. Feb 16,2021 reminded no check again. Feb 17. I show a ck was mailed. Can you give me your address? Which I did immediately. Feb 19 they responded show check was mailed will do stop payment and issue check with tracking. My response Thanks for checking. Feb 25th Asking for a check...No response, March 10 Request payment. No response. March 16th called Thousand Trails to see if there were any problems with my transfer. I was told they got their fee and transferred Nov 11, 2020

Cmpground Membership Outlet contracted to buy my Thousand Trails Membership. I signed it over to them, It was sold and I have not received payment. I started the sale in July and the new buyer did indeed buy the contract. Now Campground Membership Outlet will not pay me the $2000.00 as my payment for the contract. I have a dozen emails with the company, they only use an answering machine so personal contact is nearly impossible and they keep telling me that the "Check is in the mail". I see that ComplaintsBoard.com has numerous same complaints from this company. I wish I had checked with ComplaintsBoard.com prior. This sale was started in July and its December and still no results, only promises that the check has been mailed.

We were told Thousand Trails was processing membership sales slowly. In November we received a letter from Thousand Trails telling us our membership had transferred. We contacted Campground Membership Outlet and were told the check would be processed in 5 - 7 days. After a few more inquiries we were told a check had been send on December 23. In January we contacted them again. On January 14 we were told they would stop payment on the check and send us a new one with delivery tracking. As of February 4 we still have received no check, or have we received a tracking code. Upon discovering your website it appears many others have experienced the same stalling and failure to follow through. We are filing this hoping it will get our payment.

She stated it would take 6 to 8 weeks to tranfer and that we would receive our check at that time. According to Thousand Trails the transfer took place on November 10. Contacted Melissa regarding our check via email and phone and to date we have not received our check for $1500. Her excuse is the accountant only comes on Thurs; she checked and the checked was issued; the check is in the mail. Last we spoke which was around Jan 13, 22021 her excuse was we should have received the check by now and if we don't receive in the next week she will have the accountant put a stop payment on the check and have them issued a new check with a tracking number. Have contacted her twice via phone and she has not responded. We demand this issue be resolved immediate.

In November my 89 year-old widowed mother living on a fixed income decided to sell her 1000 Trails campground membership that my father had owned for 40 years. Emails verify that paperwork was sent 11/25. Melissa C responded 12/08 that the funds were to be collected from the buyer and the transaction would start with the resort. On 12/16, Melissa emailed, received forms, was working on the transfer which takes 4 to 6 weeks. On 01/11, the transfer started with resort, which takes 6 weeks. On 02/16, they received the letter, account is processing, check will be mailed in 5 to 7 days. On 03/03, Melissa emailed "The check is scheduled to go out no later than Friday accounting already has her file". That was 40 days ago!

I was unable to use my campground membership due to illness. I contracted with Campground Membership Outlet to sell my membership for $2,000.00. I turned over the authorization on June 16, with an estimated payment date of July 16. I received confirmation from 1000 Trails that my membership # *** has been transferred on July 14. Since July 16, I have made several calls to the company, speaking with Melissa, their representative. In each case, she has assured me that the check would be mailed out on Friday of each week I have called. I hate to believe that I am a victim of a fraudulent business that proudly displays the ComplaintsBoard.com banner. Contracted with Campground Membership Outlet to sell our Thousand Trails Campground membership. They stated they had a buyer and we agreed on a price to us after the sale of $1500 on 11/2. Thousand Trails confirmed the sale and transfer of the membership in a letter dated 1/4. We contacted Campground Membership 1/28 to inquire about payment, and followed up 2/19 and they replied they had mailed the check and asked that we confirm our address. On 2/22 we agreed to stop payment on the check and re-mail it with a tracking number. I followed up again 3/2 to say still no sign of the tracking number (or payment). They replied with a picture of a label w/tracking number on 3/8 and told me there would be movement within 48 hours. it is now end of business 3/11 and the tracking search still shows a label created but not sent.

Due to health issues my husband and I contracted with Campground Membership Outlet to sell our Thousand Trails membership for $1500. I have made several calls to Melissa in the past month regarding when we may expect the check. Her response is always the same, it's in the mail. She has the address which to send the check and I verified this in an e-mail sent to her on October 8th. I suggested in the e-mail that they put a stop payment on the check in the mail and re-issue to the verified address in the e-mail. We have our letter from Thousand Trails showing transfer was completed, letter was dated September 23. I have tried speaking with someone other than Melissa but all I ever get is voice mail with no response. And when I speak with Melissa she is very rude. We also received a letter from Thousand Trails, dated 7/26, that our membership was sold and we were no longer responsible for dues, etc. According to Melissa, the check would have been sent a month later, on 8/26. Several phone calls later with promises that the check would be mailed, and we are still waiting. The last time we spoke with Melissa was on 9/27 and she told us the check was mailed 10 days ago. This was at least the second time we were told the check was in the mail, the previous time, Melissa told us she was going to contact the bank to stop payment on the "missing" check, so another check could be issued. I believe that was 3/4 weeks ago. And here we are, beginning of October and still no check for our campground membership. This is totally wrong.

I contacted the company on in August about facilitating a sale of my Thousand Trails membership. I was contacted by Melissa *** in the listing department (her name also appeared as Melissa *** on one email signature) and we completed the paperwork to initiate the transfer. I was told Aug 31, that the transfer was in progress, then on October 31 that the confirmation of transfer completion was received and the check would be sent out at the end of next week. After no mail, I asked about the status on October 27 and was told it was mailed on the 22nd of October. After asking again, Melissa emailed me on Nov 2nd that she put in a request to have the accounting department cancel and reissue a new check to be sent via priority mail with tracking. I was also told someone would reach out with the tracking number. That was the last I heard from her, even after several emails, phone calls and voicemails. No one at the company will return my calls or emails, and Melissa refuses to give me an update on my payment. In other words, I transferred my membership over and was never paid.

A check was to be mailed the end of the following week. July 3 emailed Melissa to find out where check was. July 5 Melissa emailed me, told me check was mailed, and asked me to confirm address, which I did. July 6, Melissa confirmed it was the address check the was mailed to and they would put stop payment on check and reissue, sending it via priority mail, giving me tracking info to follow it. August 5 emailed Melissa to let her know we never received check or tracking information.September 2, Went through the same song and dance again. After returning a missed call from them on September 23, I have had no response by phone or email. Tried again on October 11, and have still gotten no response and no check for $1,000. I would like to receive the amount we agreed to in June!
