Capital Appliance Repair The technician arrived in a timely manner, was very polite, wore a mask and was able to quickly diagnose what the problem with our oven was

The technician arrived in a timely manner, was very polite, wore a mask and was able to quickly diagnose what the problem with our oven was. He explained the likely timeline for obtaining the replacement part needed and noted that it can take longer to procure parts now due to the Covid-19 situation and the impending Christmas season. All in all, very good service. Look forward to the part arriving and our oven being back to 100%

Same day service of ice maker in the refrigerator. *** was able to find the problem and fix it. He was professional and friendly and explained what he was doing all the time. The price was reasonable as well.

Next day service and repair with a two hour booking time frame. We got a call from *** that he could come earlier. Very efficient. He certainly knows how to diagnose and fix any appliance problem.

Stove control panel needed to be replaced. Had not used Capital Appliance Repair in the past but was extremely happy with their service. Arrived in the timeframe given, determined part needed to be ordered, came back late in the the day to make the repair. Will be contacting Capital Appliance Repair if needed in the future and will recommend to friends and family.

Capital Appliance Repair We had a problem with our fridge and this company promptly sent us a technician to determine the issue

We had a problem with our fridge and this company promptly sent us a technician to determine the issue. We had to wait a few days for the part as it was the Canada Day holiday, but we were very grateful that the technician tracked the part as it was being delivered from Toronto and then came to us the day he received it. Very happy with his expertise in assessing the problem, securing the needed part and the installation. Thanks so much for the great service.

Old fridge leaking needed repair. Techinian came as scheduled and attempted repair. Requirred replacement part not avaiable anymore for Kenmoro fridge. Would call them again when some other appliances need service.

We have gotten into the habit of calling Capital Appliance Repair first when we have a problem with a major appliance. They are fast, knowledgeable, effective, honest and reasonably priced. On the advice of *** after his last visit, unfortunately we realized we had to replace our 15-year-old washer, but his buying advice was very good and we now have a new washer and dryer that we are very pleased with. Our only regret may be that we will likely not need to work with Capital Appliance for a while! Thanks guys!

We contacted Capital Appliance Repair in April to have our fridge looked at, as it was not cooling properly. The technician who came was rude and disrespectful throughout the encounter. He eventually indicated to us that our relay starter was not working correctly. He recommended turning the fridge off completely, and ordering a new part. He indicated that the part would come in for us in 1-3 weeks, and that generally they came even faster than that. With that in mind, we agreed to order the part, and paid the deposit that he said was required. After 3 weeks of not hearing from them at all, I contacted Capital Appliance Repair, and asked about the part for our fridge. They stated that the factory they order from had shut down, and therefore did not have any update on when the part would arrive. They did not have any explanation for what was being done to expedite getting the part, but said it would likely come soon. I asked why they had not reached out to explain the delay, and they said it was not their practice to do so. When I questioned why a business would not contact their customers about unforeseen delays, especially when they had taken deposits for services not yet delivered, the receptionist hung up on me. Over the next month, I called several times looking for updates. I was hung up on several times, or simply told that there was no update. After almost 3 months without a working fridge, we eventually gave up and bought a new fridge, as it was clear they did not have any intention of fulfilling our service call. They did not offer any explanation as to why they had not simply ordered a part from another manufacturer, if the factory they generally used had indeed shut down. I was eventually able to get a partial refund from them after questioning whether they had intentionally tried to steal from us. I would not recommend using this service.

Prompt service and thorough check and explanation of problem. With an old machine, the piece would have been expensive and no guarantees that other problems might not crop up. I elected to find a new machine. I have found technicians from this company very good and pleasant to work with.

15 Y.O. *** TOP LOADING laundry machine stopped mid-cycle just weeks before tenant moving out - serviced the next day. Turned out to be a switch and the technician had the part on hand; fixed within 2 hours, repair was less than half the replacement cost so worth doing. Very satisfied.

Capital Appliance Repair Our washing machine stopped working on doing cold/warm wash, only hot wash worked

Our washing machine stopped working on doing cold/warm wash, only hot wash worked. A technician visited to diagnose issue and determined that cold water intake valve was faulty and needed replacement. New valve needed to be back ordered. 2 weeks later part came in and 2 service technicians returned to install new valve. Extra technician required as washing machine was a stacked washer/dryer combo in a laundry closet in our condo. So heavy lifting required to access the washer. Work completed in an hour and problem fixed. Impressed with their work and timely repair.

I am most impressed with this Company. The serviceman had an excellent work ethic and repaired my noisy dishwasher in short order. He took the time to educate me on what the problem was and how to ensure it doesn't happen again.

We told *** what was happening and he knew immediately what was wrong. The freezer was defrosting every 8 hrs and the water had no where to go. He fixed it within 40 min. AMAZING. We will definitely call them for any other appliance problem. Thank you Capital Appliance Repair!

I phoned the CAR office on Thursday to inquire whether repair technicians wore face masks and practiced physical distancing, and whether all payments could be arranged by telephone, in order to avoid unnecessary close contact. The answers were "Yes," and so we booked a service visit for the next day (Friday). The technician arrived on time, diagnosed the problem for our *** Oven, ordered the broken bake element from Mississauga and returned on Monday to install it. Final costs were as quoted in advance for two service visits and bake element. Received confirmation of payment by email within minutes of repair technicians departure. Highly recommend this efficient, competent service.

Capital Appliance Repair $170 for 20 minutes seems excessive

$170 for 20 minutes seems excessive. I was told by the office when I booked, that the estimate of total cost would be $70 no matter what which would be deducted from total price of fixing a dishwasher that would not drain. But I was not given an estimate of total price before the job was finished and for 20 minutes of excellent work (done well and to my satisfaction) the bill was $170 plus tax (which was reduced to $ $169.50 including tax when I complained that it seemed too high). This amounts to $450 per hour! I was never informed that the cost would be this much or what it would be until the job was finished. There needs to be better communication about what a good job will cost if the hourly rate is going to be so high.

My dishwasher, which was under insurance, needed repair. I explained to them that I need estimate thereafter once it is approved I would need the service, they agreed. Their technician while inspecting, spent merely 10 min, without telling me anything, took out garbage from drain pipe and demanded $280. I was shocked and protested, he called his office and spoke to a lady in a foreign language, she was highly disrespectful, refused to listen and threatened to send my file to collection. She reluctantly gave me estimate and invoice together, with the condition that I would have to pay $112 now and balance within a week, which I had to give without getting from Insurance. HOW CAN SOMEONE WHO CONES FOR ESTIMATE CAN DO THE SO-CALLED REPAIR WITHOU CONSENT?

Capital Appliance Repair Not recommended at all!

Not recommended at all! Unprofessional, poor customer service, and have yet to fulfill their obligation to return our deposit from July for a part that never arrived or was installed. Have been trying to get our money back for months. The technician made an assessment of our oven by looking it up on line and recommended a part. I paid the service fee and 50% of the cost of the part. That was in July. The part never came. After many calls we decided to cancel the service and were assured we would get the part deposit back (after being told initially we would not). It's mid-October and we haven't seen it yet! (They say it's "in the mail"). Another repair person adjusted a wire, and had it working within 5 minutes! No charge. We compensated him regardless.

We recently had service on our washer and are very satisfied with the work completed. The service technician was very thorough and informative and obviously knew his trade. In the end the problem did not manifest itself while the technician was there, but he spent a good amount of time (2 hours+) inspecting the washer, running full cycles and self diagnostic tests and in the end recommended some preventative maintenance that could be causing the condition we reported. I also should comment on how quickly I received a response when completing the online form - less than 15 minutes on a Sunday I received a call back with a proposed appointment the next day! This is the first time I sought out assistance in appliance repair and would definitely not hesitate to call on them again should it be needed.

I had a problem with my induction stovetop glass and reached out to Capital Appliance Repair. I paid them $1938.17 on December 17 for the replacement. They told me that they needed to order the part and I haven't received any service or product yet. I tried calling them twice in the last few months to get a refund, but they promised to call me back and never did. I want to cancel the service and get a full refund now.

The guy who came to fix our appliance said the part would be over $100, but he never told us how much it would cost to fix it. He said he would give us a quote by the end of the day, but we never heard back from him. I emailed him to ask for the quote, but he didn't respond. After reading other reviews, it seems like this is a common problem with this company. They give high estimates without explaining anything, and then they don't actually fix anything. It seems like they just want to take your money and run.

Capital Appliance Repair I had a bad experience with Capital Appliance Repair

I had a bad experience with Capital Appliance Repair. The technician who came on Aug 3 said that our fridge needed a new inverter and charged us $530 to order the part. When he came back on Aug 18, he realized that the inverter was actually working and there was ice built up around the fridge coil. He refilled the Freon on Aug 30 and charged us another $530. I still haven't received an invoice and the technician didn't confirm if there was a leak before refilling the Freon, which could be a health hazard. Another company found the leak on Sep 3, but Capital Appliance Repair won't reimburse us because they have no record of it. Not very professional!

Capital Appliance Repair I called Capital Appliance Repair on June 27 to fix my fridge

I called Capital Appliance Repair on June 27 to fix my fridge. A guy came on Monday, June 29 and said the defroster was busted and needed to be changed. He gave me a quote for $503.98 and asked for a deposit to order the parts. I sent him $200 and asked for a receipt. He was supposed to come back on Wednesday to replace the part, but he never showed up. I called the office and they said he would call me back. They called me back and said the part hadn't arrived yet and he would come when it did. Two weeks later, they called to say the part was in and he would come in two days. But he never showed up again. When I called them, they said they had the wrong part and needed to reorder it. A week later, they said they would get back to me, but they never did. I called them a few times and they always said they would talk to the guy and get back to me, but they never did. I had to get another company to fix my fridge. I want my $200 deposit back.

Capital Appliance Repair I chose Capital Appliance Repair for our leaky dishwasher due to their high social media ratings

I chose Capital Appliance Repair for our leaky dishwasher due to their high social media ratings. However, it was a poor decision! On their initial visit on 7 Oct 2020, the technician diagnosed a faulty float switch and charged $79.10. Returning to install a new switch at $198.88, the leak persisted. The supervisor later admitted the technician's error and dismissal, promising a correct repair on 3 Dec 2020, which failed again. Contacting the manufacturer revealed Capital Appliance Repair lacked authorization for repairs. They directed me to a certified service provider. Despite requesting a refund of $277.98 from Capital Appliance Repair, I received no response.

Capital Appliance Repair I called these guys on July 3rd cuz my Jenn-Air double wall oven needed fixing

I called these guys on July 3rd cuz my Jenn-Air double wall oven needed fixing. The top oven control panel was busted. The tech came on July 6th and said he needed to order a part. While he was here, he opened the lower oven door and it fell off its hinge and shattered. He said sorry and promised to replace it. But then they took forever to get back to us and when they did, they kept changing their story about the part. They said it was ordered, then back ordered, then not ordered, then from a different supplier, then not made anymore. Now they say they'll "decide what to do." The manager called on 11/112021 and said our insurance has to email them to get it covered. But I talked to my insurance and they said it's not their problem. This company is a pain in the butt to deal with. They don't tell us anything and they're rude and dismissive. It's been over 4 months and we still don't have an oven. They suck.
