Capital One Fraud and dispute departments

I was scammed in a parking lot in St. Remy, France by a guy who read my credit card with a chip reader. Capital One texted me immediately and asked if I had made 2 purchases, which totaled 5,000 euro or over $5100. I was unaware of what this guy had done and responded in text back to Cap 1, "no." Immediately I called Cap 1 and spoke with the fraud department. Cap 1 credited back to me the charges on November 16 and stopped the card and issued a new card which I received after my return to the USA.

The money went to SumUp, to the account of Jennifer Daghena.

Then they were posted again on November 18, I called to refute these new charges and they were credited back to me., but the matter was sent over to the dispute department at Cap 1.

On December 16, I received a letter from Cap 1, stating that I did owe the money because the "merchant" responded to the inquiry by saying "confirmation showing no cancellation per policy was received." and if my name was on such, it w forged. I don't know if chip readers can also read signatures...

I was to supply documentation (i.e., sales invoice or purchase agreement.)

Capital One want me to prove that I cancel the policy or that I tried to resolve the dispute with the merchant. I have o documentation and it's pretty difficult to prove something with nothing but one's word and witnesses.

There was no merchant. This was in a parking lot, where a guy scammed me by saying he would help me get a parking ticket from one of those weird machines there. According to google, this person Jennifer Daghena is a midwife in Marseilles, France. Three things of note: 1. the parking lot is in St. Remy, France. I have the parking tickets, which my assistant got from the machine afterward. 2. I am 75 and don't need a midwife, if this Jennifer Daghena is indeed a midwife. The company could be a front or a money laundering operation. 3. I am a tour operator. This was an art history tour of the artists who lived and worked in Provence. My clientele is all over 60. They are not of child-bearing age.

I did not purchase anything from this Jennifer Daghena, and had no knowledge of her before this charge was made and showed up on my phone.

It was a scam.

Capital One should recognize this as a scam. If it can not do that, it should verify Daghena's documentation of any interaction she had with me. Prove that she rendered services to me on November 14 around noontime when I was in the parking lot in St. Remy.

I have further documentation if needed, including police reports, filings with the FDIC, Consumer Protection, and my own files.

Desired outcome: Capital One must credit me these charges, permanently zero out these 2 transactions and then close the close and leave me whole.

Capital one canceled my credit card for no reason. For 25 years full payments are made every month. They emailed me is jetblue airways is your charge? I was unaware that my family member was trying to book the ticket. I replied the email alert that I didn't recognize the charge. Jetblue was only obtaining authorization. They never posted a charge because no one purchased a ticket on this card. There was no fraudulent activity. My assistant had ordered more than 5,000 dollars of gifts for friends and business associates for Christmas on this card. We had to cancel and pay the penalty for those orders.

Despite begging not to deactivate the card, the nasty, uneducated criminals in fraud department from Phillipines, named Mel harrassed my assistant and was verbally abusive. So was Stephanie, a liar, conniving person from USA who emailed that your replacement card.Is mailed. It has been a month and no card and no response. They want again my drivers license copy and bank accounts. Until that day everything was fine. They have records of all the personal information for 25 years. Two years ago they confiscated Wal-Mart card and a huge sum of credit for return ing merchandise back. Credit card receipts of refund was faxed. But to no avail. The thieves in fraud department took that money. Capital one bank accounts without permission was transferred to 360 capital and the deposits of previous accounts are frozen. They stole it. Shame on capital one. No other credit card or financial institution is so despicable and abhorrent.

Capital One Capital One interest charges

Capital One is charging interest not on unpaid balance but average daily balance you had on your credit card account. We were short with payment $37 and ended up paying interest on $272. Next bill was done in full and they still keep charging me interest. They say it will happen for 3 billing cycles and only if I keep paying in full. One time we paid short by accident, and we are going to pay for it big time. This is very unfair. We will close this card. Have been customer for many, many years but I don't like to be ripped off.

Desired outcome: I want pay interest on unpaid balance not on daily average.

Capital One Suspicios transactions, failure to fully investigage charges, failure to take reasonable care to secure my account and it's information

My name is Alfreada Barker, account number ([protected]) have been an account holder of Capital One Bank for the past eight years. I noticed some discrepancies that started in my account back in April of 2022, double charging of bill payments which continued up to September 2022.

Moreover, Capital One closed my checking account September 11 without any warning or means of being able to have access to my closed account. In addition, money (65.00) was taken out of my account for some late charges that had been dissolved months ago. None of my direct payment accounts were paid for the month of September yet, the money was missing from my account. I had to resort to other means to ensure my bills where paid for that month.

Thus, I trusted capital one to safe guard my account I would like a full investigation regarding the closing of my account and how it was malicious reopened to get money out of my account.

Desired outcome: Desire outcome Is to pay off the accumulated debit I inherited to pay off my monthly bills that was not paid for the month of September 2022

Capital One Reverse late fee charges

I Made a payment on my Capital One credit card acct..7751 12/17/22 $65, it was due 12/15/22, I usalluy pay on time & requested to reverse the late fee of $40. I have been a Capital One customer for a while and pay my bills every month and have not missed a payment and usalluy pay on time. I am having a hardship and requesting take this in to consideration. I would also like to mention agent and supervisor. Theres no empathy the agent was unable to help me and was ready to hang up but I asked is there someone I can talk to help me superviosr she stated yes to hold on. Agent came back on the call and stated supervisor on the line. Again I explained my situaition and again the supervisor repeated the same thing agent told me where again no empathy. At this point I knew I was not going to get any help from the supIervior therefore I requested to speak with a manager/corperate office and she stated she was the highes level and made me belive theres no one else I can contact so I insisted to speak with managment/corporate office. At this point I had to step in and let her know every origanazation has managment/corporate office. Long story short I had to make her give me that information after I mention she wasen't going above and beyond for the customer. A Customer that has business with a company and paying there monthly payment should not go thur this with the agent especially from the supervisor. They should try and help or something. Your spilling you guts out, and no matter what you say there really not listing to the customers needs. Thank You

Desired outcome: Resolution: Requesting and would like the $40 late fee reversed due to hardship, I have been a loyal customer for a long time. 2. Train agents to be empathetic situation and listen to the customer needs.

Capital One Telephone customer service

We have the Walmart - Capital One (Visa). Just days ago we went online and set up an ID/PASSWORD and was able to set up and validate our online access. This afternoon (Dec. 16 th) we would like to report a case of manipulation/harrassment. The online system would not grant us access and gave us a fit over the phone. We had already logged in a couple of times the day we set it up. Customer service gave us an unnecessary series of requirements in order for us to be able to log in to our account. This, we deem; an outrage and an incovenience as they "FLEXED" their customer service muscles on us. Further, we instructed them to update our contact # in the online profile. We eventually hung up on him, but later attempted to log in and our contact mobile number had not been updated in the system despite our sharing it with them when we first set it up and then today giving the new number to them over the phone. Ah, he would not update our information. What kind of customer service is this?

Desired outcome: A possible firing ; someone to go in and to research exactly why we could not access our account after establshing our online info. just days ago ?? Why such a ridiculous call ?

Capital One Capital One Debit Card

I made a purchase with PayPal to a merchant I was purchasing products for my small business in August 2022. The payment went through on PayPal but the merchant claimed they never received the money. I reached out to PayPal customer service and they told me I would have to file a claim with my card company. After doing that I made the purchase again with the merchant. The purchase went through without any problems. Months later Capital One reversed the claim and emptied out my debit account. Leaving it negative $200. I submitted valid proof of the merchant claiming they never received the money and they refuse to open the claim back up.

Desired outcome: Please refund my money and open my claim back up to view the substantial evidence I submitted.

Capital One Underhanded actions to get me to use my card or take out a loan!.

I am complaining about the treatment I received when settling an account of a deceased individual who passed in 2021 who owed money to Cap 1 from over 10 years ago then because of non payment Cap 1 "wrote off" this amount, which means that they were able to claim this amount as a loss on their taxes. When he passed in 202I I received notice that they were going to file a claim on his very small estate for the amount of over $7000. I contacted them and they said the original amount was around $3400. and now 10 years later they wanted $7000. to cover it, but would take the $3800 to settle, we agreed and sent them the money.

The reason I'm upset is because each time I spoke to them I would suddenly receive an ad for capitol 1 for credit or loans available to ME. This happened constantly for the next several months until I banned the ads from my computer. My issue is that I've always had a Cap 1 card, which wasn't used but kept just 'in case' and now (since they can no longer reach me by email) they sent me a letter telling me that MY card was CANCELLED! I'm not a relative of the deceased and our credit was not combined in any way. and I don't owe them any money!

When I spoke to their estate department each time they would try to coerce

me to use their credit or ask if I could afford to pay! They suddenly cancelled my credit card for no reason. when I called they said I could apply again.

Should I reach out to my attorney? Maybe.

Desired outcome: My card please.

Capital One Credit card

On 12/12/2022 at approximately 1130 hrs my credit card was declined. I have a credit score over 800 and always pay the full amount and on time. I was told that I hadn't paid last month's bill and that's why my card was declined. I checked with my bank, found the bill was paid and Capital One cashed the check. The bank gave me a trace number, but that wasn't enough for Capital One. They wanted a copy of the check and other information. None of this was my fault, yet Capital One wanted me to jump through hoops for their mistake. This was a terribly frustrating experience. I spent so much time on the phone with India that the battery died. Thanks a lot.

Desired outcome: I want my account fixed.

Capital One Handling of kohl's credit card

Capital One Kohls Credit Card

20 years plus and never a late payment.

I always waited two or three days after a purchase and scheduled a payment in full.

About a month ago I received an Email stating my balance was "seriously Delinquent".

I went on line and there was a $14.31 balance I had no idea from where it came. I paid it immediately and fiqured I'd go back when I had time ~I did.

I had purchased some towels that were delivered and payed for them with Kohl's Cash~They didn't include the shipping of $8.25 AFTER I had paid and received the towels.

I didn't receive a bill or Email for the eight bucks so interest started to accrue and they (Capital One sent it to collection which of course impacted my Fico score. I contacted Kohl's they in turn opened an inquiry.

Today I received a letter stating that they (capital one) had reviewed it and determined that the information was correct and they wouldn't change it.

I canceled my card ~Will deal with the credit folks myself and will never spend another dime in Kohls.

Eight dollar mistake on their part and I have to waste all this time

One last thing~having paid the requested 14.31 I suddenly had a$1.00 credit?

Desired outcome: Recind the negative report to credit reporting agencys

Capital One Being denied of a credit card replacement

I have a land line phone and the rep wanted to text me a code. When I stated to her that the text will not work on a land line, to contact me via phone or email all other vertification was vertified. The agent that stated to send her a federal id. This to me went beyond the scope of servicing a credit cared, agents can not simply make their own rules and expect the consumer to comply as stated this is not fraud case, no lost card. Only misplaced, and found weeks later, I am the card holder for oer 15 years this situation is a nightmare. The card is being service in philippines. Unfortunately there is a huge language barrier. I continue to make my payments yet I have not card to use. This pratrice should never be acceptable by any standards.

Desired outcome: To receive my Credit Card

Capital One Proof of payoff (lien satisfaction letter)

I own a car that was paid off with Capital One Auto Finance in 2006, however, my Virginia title still has a lien on it. In August of 2021, I was able to get a copy of the Lien Release from their service MyTitleSupport.com and unfortunately, my ex-husband took that release and it's never to be seen again.

I called Capital One Auto Finance this AM, only to find out that

1. They no longer use MyTitleSupport.com (went out of business in late 2021)

2. They can't locate any record of me and refused to look for or send a lien release

3. Can't understand 2/3rds of what the representatives are saying

How can I get a lien release from a company that doesn't even acknowledge that they have one when it's clearly printed on my title?

Desired outcome: Receipt of a lien release letter

Capital One Lien release form that hasn't been sent.

*I applied for a license replacement in the state of Oregon using my bill of sale from Nessa Jones.

*I took it in to the Oregon DMV and they said there was a lien on the title.

*I came back to Nessa, and she called Capital One that very day.

Nessa's account for the Ford Focus was paid off in 2015.

*4 days later we got this Release of Lien from Capital One dated October 6, 2022, signed by Beverly Bell, authorized agent.

* Nessa gave the letter to me so that I could get the title for the car from the DMV.

*I took this form back to the DMV where they told me it was NO GOOD because of the incorrect information on it.

*I then came back to Nessa and showed her the Lien Release letter with the incorrect information on it.

for "Vehicle", Capital One had "1997 FORD F350"

FOR "VIN #", You had, "2007 FORD FOCUS

*Nessa then immediately called Capital One again and requested a correct Release of Lien form be sent to her.

*This was over a month ago and we have not heard one word out of Capital One.

I ask you please to resolve this issue immediately.

Desired outcome: A corrected Lien Release form

Capital One Banking - third party endorsement

I received a check from my insurance company to pay for the damages from a hurricane. The insurance company added Wells Fargo as the mortgage holder, and my ex-spouse. In attempting to deposit the check, I was informed that since the payee name doesn’t match, they can not accept the check; they are exerting to my ex-spouse, not Wells Fargo. All parties, myself, Wells Fargo, and my ex-spouse endorsed the check but Capital One still will not recognize the deposit. I desperately need this payment so I may pay my roofer but have hit roadblocks at every step.

Desired outcome: Deposit the check. Wait for it to clear the issuing bank. Allow me to access my funds.

Capital One Credit Card Virtual Card

I signed up for the Capital One Quicksilver card to get access to purchase Taylor Swift tickets ahead of time. My virtual card information was promised if I was approved for the card. I applied and was instantly approved for the card with a $10,000 limit (we have credit in the low 800's), but no virtual card was provided. After speaking to at least a dozen Capital One employees (customer service, digital tech, event staff, and supervisors) I am being told that they cannot help me get the digital card and that I will have to wait for the new card to arrive. Lies, FRAUD, Bait & Switch, 3 hours WASTED, Useless Staff is all you are going to get for such a shady organization! I wonder how many people like myself were tricked to applying for a card, and then not being able to use it right away. Scammers!

Capital One Charge dispute

I purchased bracelet on vacation in Mexico this summer. The clasp on the bracelet breaks about a week after purchase, I thought this bracelet was diamond and white gold, I would not have seen the silver stamp if the clasp didn't break. I send email according to merchant's 30 working day return policy asking for address to return bracelet. I receive no response; I wait another week to send next email no response. I contact CapitalOne to dispute the charge on the basis of it being silver not gold, the merchant not complying with their own return/refund policy, and the bracelet being poor quality because the clasp broke within week. CapitalOne does their investigation after me submitting a sales receipt that is blank with only my signature there is nothing written in description also the receipt has the merchant's 30 working day return/refund policy. The merchant supplies a copy of their receipt, and it's altered, it now has a description written in, so it looks as if I was agreeing to the purchase because my signature is at bottom. CapitalOne denies claim and suggests having bracelet appraised by 3rd party, bracelet is silver, poorly made, and diamonds are fake worth $175 not $600 I paid.

Desired outcome: I want my claim granted and my $600 returned to me. This merchant is scam artist and needs to be stopped from being able to scam tourists.
