My name is Vukani Maki, cell no: [protected]. I took my car to Car Service City in September 2009 because it was liking oil from the steering reck. They kept my car for 3 weeks and charged R4332.00 to fix it. They have 3month warranty or 10000km warranty. However my car was liking oil again within 2 weeks after I had received, so I took it back as it was still under warranty. They kept my car for another 2 weeks and qouted me R4347.00 to fix the liking oil. So I took my car back without them fixing it as I did not have the R4347.00. I have paid Car Service City in Hatfield R4332.00 to fix the liking oil in my car, they took the monry and my car is still liking oil from the steering reck. I would like this to resolved without me incurring further costs. I still still have all the slips as well the the quote of R4347.00 from Car Service City. NB: My Prroposed Solution: I would like Toyota to fix my car to ensure that its done properly and I want Car Service City in Hatfield to pay the invoice.

I Booked my car in for a service on Suturday the 5th ofSeptember, I left it by them, they told me they were going to call me and let me know what was going to be fixed and get a go ahed from me. They called me, and told me everything that needed to be fixed, i told them to fix everything for me. Brakes, Wiper Blades, Wheel Barring and so on...

When I fectech my car, I drove it for less that 500 metres, I realised that the car bakes are still making noise, wheels are still making noise, I returned immediately, they told me they never testdrove a car to check because there was no one to do that, the guy that was supposed to do that was not in.

They made a call while I was still there, after that they called me in the office and told me I have to pay R450 for them to fix those problems, I asked them what they had done to my car, they said they had cleaned the brakepads cos they were not warned out, amazing enough, thay had charged me labour cost for each part they was sopposedely replaced, but the each part has its own cost as well.To me it looks like they has replaces visible parts only.

They had promised to give me a call on Monday, but I haven't received that call as yet.

The customer seems not even know the difference between "liking" and "Leaking", but that aside fixing one oil leak does not mean that you have fixed every oil leak. Second point is if the steering was leaking it was most likely power steering fluid. Therefore if it now leaks oil unless somehow caused by the Mechanics i see no reason they would have to pay for repairs.

Seriously? If you take your car in to be repaired it should be repaired properly, end of story. With a R4000 odd quote for a leak, which is an astronomical figure in itself just to repair a leak, (& yes Mr. Jonoopel, whoever you are - anyone can make an innocent typo) it should have been fixed. Why do they even then guarantee their workmanship for 6 months if they are not going to stand by their word? I certainly would not take my car there, if this is the attitude.

Bottom line - stay away from them, all their branches. They are incompetent and unethical. They diagnosed a misfire wrong twice on my car, the first time I was told that the engine needs to be rebuilt! and when I disagreed and proved them wrong on the spot the tried again and then said that I needed to pay them and take the car to an auto electrician since they cannot fix it. The cause was a faulty coil stick!

Car Service City is a con. They advertise cheap services then come up with a whole list of fictitious items so a R700 service ends up costing R13000. Then you have problems and on taking back say sorry we forgot to put the sump plug back. So instead of a few hours they had my car for 3 days and then it had to go back twice again. The car engine has now seized due to damage caused by the sump plug not being put back. They screamed and shouted at me and threatened me and refused to provide any paperwork. Car service head office say it's not their problem as Car Service City Branch did not record the 2 occassions I took the car back - that is fraud. They knew they had messed up the car. DO NOT USE THEM. I now don't have a car and my car is my business.
