CareerBuilder Do Not Call List

In my quest to find employment in Indiana, I’ve posted my resume on Careerbuilder.com, Hotjobs.com, Indeed.com and Monster.com. While these sites are free for resume posting and seeking companies who are hiring, I’ve recently started getting mass amounts of calls from Companies selling services and/or products. Under a diligent research, it appears that thousands of other people in Indiana also have received these same calls from companies want to sell something or a service such as higher education, building a better resume, or pay them to find a job for you.
While I may not be a lawyer, I know the Law pretty well in Indiana to know that unwanted soliciting calls from people who are registered on the Do Not Call List is illegal and unethical. New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, Inc. is the main company going on line to these free employment search engines and obtaining names, phone numbers and addresses, then calling these people offering services such as obtaining degrees in the Medical Field, or computer programming or multiple other services all at a cost.
Laws have been implemented in this State to prevent companies from making unwanted soliciting calls to people about services and products. In the past 5-working days, I’ve had 11 calls from New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, Inc from there Indianapolis, Indiana location [protected] wanting me to sign up for a medical certificate. I’ve advised these solicitors numerous times to remove my name and number from there list, but every call is from a different sales associate who also found my information on Careerbuilder.com and started calling me.
Another company is following the lead of New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, Inc and Career Choice Network. A call is made, and the person on the line is selling services. Those services are to pay them to find a job for you. RL Stevens and Associates are another company that makes numerous calls to people offering to find them jobs if paid to do so. May I please add that the Internet shows that the owner of Career Choice Connect has been investigated for criminal fraud for taking money to find jobs, but never providing those jobs?

These are illegal practices that border corrupt business affairs. Where is the liability, the companies making these calls, or the companies who have these sites, and allow companies to register in order to obtain this personal information to solicit people their services? These companies offering services must register first in order to have access to obtain persons information. So the question is, which company is committing the crime?

Its sad that in today’s economy companies are going on line and soliciting service to people unemployed through free website. The main fact of these activities is that it’s illegal to do so. My Civil Rights have been violated, and I believe that other State Constitutional Laws have been violated as well by these company’s activities. I m on the no call list, and I’ve receiving calls daily from the above named companies. I’ve already written a compliant with Monster Worldwide, Inc, Yahoo.com, Inc, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, Inc, Careerbuilder.com Inc. and Indeed.com Inc. An injunction should be filed along with a Class Action lawsuit preventing companies from soliciting people in this State by obtaining their information over these free website offering free employment searches.
I’m asking for your assistance in this matter. I will cooperate in any manner necessary to investigate these allegations and with any legal proceedings that you may deem necessary against these companies.

CareerBuilder Resumes not being submitted?

Are my resumes really being received by employers?

I might be relying too heavily upon CareerBuilder, as I don't think ALL of the resumes I submit are actually received by the employer?

There is no verifyable way to confirm that the employer is actually receiving the resume, other than the automatic email generated by CB and received immediately.

Two days ago I sent a resume through CB to a firm where I happen to know someone. It was the second time within a week that I had sent my resume to them, as I had also sent one to them last week. Today I called my friend who works there to find out if my resume was received. It was not. I spoke with the office manager who looked through all she had as we were on the phone and she said there was nothing there from me; this, after sending it twice?

My confidence in CareerBuilder, as well as the rest of the online employment sites, has become abruptly shaken to say the very least. I'm wondering how many other resumes I've sent that have just not gone through to the prospective employer -- besides the two that I know about!

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to suggest, other than just providing emails of the employers, and I know very well that won't fly. Nonetheless, I think this is an issue that should most definitely NOT be left unattended! At this point, a good part of my livelihood is in your hands and I'm not feeling very good about that!

I wonder if the employers who use CB know about this faulty system. Apparently not!

CareerBuilder Unauthorized charge on credit card

I was looking at CareerBuilder.com for a job. The Web site was very well laid out and it pulled me in pretty good. I was even considering purchasing the service. They did not tell you the cost of the service until after you put your credit card information in. When I found out how much it was ($89.99), I changed my mind and totally closed the Internet Explorer browser. I thought that by doing this I was ending any association with CareerBuilder.com and the transaction. A few days later when I was looking at my online banking account, I discovered that CareerBuilder.com just went ahead and charged my credit card for $89.98. When I called them for a refund they told me I was only getting back $29.99 of the total amount because they already sent some of my resumes out. I said, ” I did not ask you to or authorize you to do that." They told me that because I put my credit card information in, that gives them the right to sign me up for and charge me for their service!

CareerBuilder FAKE LISTINGS

Careerbuilder.com has knowingly listed job ads, that are really ads for schools, for a very long time. Should a company get away with lying to the public?

Subject: CareerBuilder.com

By developing targeted career management and communication strategies, you can earn your supervisor's stamp of approval -- and more importantly, position yourself to assume his or her job should he or she decide to move on. Here are some tips to raise your visibility: All nursing students must graduate from an approved nursing program and pass a national licensing exam. Though diploma and two-year associate's degree programs exist for nurses, many employers prefer candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher. Dannie McClain, a category manager for Town and Country Linen, says she thinks getting a degree from a school with both online and traditional programs has helped employers view her degree as credible. Initially hired without a degree, McClain now has a double online degree in marketing and business from Michigan-based Baker College, which also has online programs. To many people, a degree is a degree -- but to others, there can be an issue of trust, or lack of reputation and familiarity, says Marc Scheer, a career counselor and educational consultant based in New York City.

Not only are resumes not being submitted but I recently searched accounting jobs in the Atlanta GEorgia area and Careerbuilder found no results, yeah right!. This is most definetaly bogus, I looked at the AJC newspaper and found numerous jobs under accounting. Looks like another glorified web site to lure us unemployed folks into and give us all false hope

CareerBuilder Bad service

I posted my resume on Monster anonymously (hiding my eMail address using their private link eMail) and received no spam.

Two months later, I posted my resume anonymously on Careerbuilder.com using the same methods as Monster. In 2 weeks I am getting over 500 spams a day.

I believe Careerbuilder SOLD my eMail address to companies.

There is no other way these spammers would be getting my private eMail address. AND, it all happened the very next day after posting my resume on Careerbuilder.com.

Is there a way to sue Careerbuilder.com

They shouldn't be. Why? because they are internet based. Why should that matter. Law enforcement should be just as concerned over their business practices as they should any other company when people are affected. I feel like a victim myself when I get emails from scammers telling me that they saw my resume on careerbuilder, monster etc. That's ###! We become victimized and then it's our fault? That doesn't make any sense at all. In my opinion, something must be done about this.

CareerBuilder Unauthorized charge!

On 3/6/08 BSM/Grant search from Las Vegas Nevada charged my card $7.95 for something I did not order. I was looking at a jobsite, Careerbuilder.com, and the charge appeared shortly afterwards when I happened to look at my bank statement. There is no contact information for this business for me to dispute the charge. Had I not looked at my bank record I would not have noticed it. I will contact my bank about this.

I did not purchase anything through this website.

The trial periods are free for 7-30 days from the order date depending on which bonuses apply. We would not have charged you had you called customer service and canceled during the trial period.
