I was looking for a water filter and my wife’s father said his friend sells water filters. I contacted Mario Ricca and had a long conversation about what I was looking for. I was very specific about what I wanted...I said I wanted all impurities removed including fluoride and from my research the only unit that can accomplish that is a Reverse Osmosis filter. Mario said his unit works like a Reverse Osmosis water filter capable of removing all impurities, the only difference is...it's a new design that is easy to install. He said his product is certified, guaranteed and will provide clean pure water. I asked him to test my water as soon as he installed the filter and he looked shocked that I asked him to do so. Reluctantly, he brought a testing kit (yellow drops in a bottle) and proceeded to test my water. He did not tell me what he was testing for and did not explain anything. In all honesty, the test looked more like a magic trick to me than a water purity test. I asked him if he had a digital TDS meter to test the level of impurities. He did not have one nor did he know what I was talking about. So, I took it upon myself to test the water and to my disbelief the results were the same as my tap water. My tap was even 5 ppm's less than the water from the unit sold to me. When I told him about my findings he was quick to tell me that it was not him product it was my TDS meter. He said the only explanation he can provide for the undesirable test results is that this particular unit could be faulty but he was sure it is not and has no way to test if it is. He said my water test is null and void because it does not provide a break down of impurities. That made no sense because his unit was supposed to eliminate the impurities in the first place. I was in total disbelief when he looked straight in my face and said that he never told me his unit will eliminate all impurities it will only reduce the impurities to safe levels? WHAT A LIER! Isn't failure to provide a properly functioning product that was promised results in a breach of contract? During our phone conversation after the fact...He said he did not make me aware of certain technical facts about the product because he thought that they would bore me. Isn’t that false advertising? He chose to omit information that might have changed my mind about purchasing his product. He knew what I was looking to buy, misrepresented the Carico product and tricked me into signing a contract. He also installed the unit after 3 days of signing the contract so I would not be able to back out of it. I feel so foolish; I always do research and trust no salesman, but he was recommended by family. The worst thing about it is, these sleazy Carico salesmen prey on family and friends. He said he can’t issue a refund because its company policy…these people are free agents who make there own rules. They purchase Carico products and sell it to people for a ridiculously hiked up price. He said he needs time to see if he could possibly issue store credit…STORE? He sells out of his car from a magazine! He is making believe like he is doing me a favor by forcing me to buy $700 worth of his products that I don’t need or want. When I contacted Carico…They made believe that they understand where I’m coming from and agree he misrepresented there product and the supervisor is on the phone and will call me back asap. No one ever did, but he called and left a nasty message on my wife’s phone telling her to tell me to back of because I am getting annoying! And no one from corporate will help me, so I can stop calling. I am soooo heated words cannot describe. I will make sure to talk about my experience with this man and the company he works for to who ever will listen. I will take out ads in the paper, blog...whatever it take to make sure he will never mislead another person again. He just bought himself $700 worth of bad publicity that will never go away…He will have a hard time stealing people’s hard earned money if I have something to do about it! If there is anyone who has the same issue or any lawyer who thinks I have grounds for a lawsuit please contact me [protected]@gmail.com. I am in the process of sending out a water sample to a certified lab and filling a claim against the salesman in the small claims court.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I believe Carico company should post the selling price for it's products so predator sales rep cannot hike up the price to a ridiculous amount.
I have a Carico filter for many years and if you have a pool and a chlorine tester you can check your filter yourself. I placed the regular tap water in a glass and did the same with my filtered water. The regular tap water turned yellow to indicate chlorine, but the filtered water indicated no chlorine. the test kit calls for 4 drops and I placed about fifteen drops into the filtered water and no indication of chlorine. I don't know what the above is talking about, but mu Carico filter is great. I now have my son and daughter using a Carico filter and they too are happy with it especially with what has been happening with the water in NY & NJ, (old system and broken pipes). I have taken my filter to Florida and highly recommend Carico. By the way, my son hated the reverse osmosis filter.
I just wanted to add that Mario Ricca is my sales rep. and he is very knowledgeable about what he does. He has service my family and friends for years and has never lied to us. I believe he is a hard worker that sincerely believes in what he sells. I used water filters for a Coffee business and I know that this is a great filter. Some people buy things and get buyers remorse, ( not saying that this guy did) however, this company is always there and so is Mario ( sold me a filter about 18 yrs ago). I was shocked to see the above and I doubt that anyone else will respond to that type of problem. They have been around for years and I myself did my homework before buying my filter. Obviously, no complaints about Mario, Oh, except that he talks too much. L.O.L.
This is a great company to work with. The leadership is outstanding. They truly care for their employees, sales representatives and the consumer.
I highly recommend this company to any one looking for employment or to purchase quality houseware items.
The response allegedly from carico international is a total lie from my experience I called to customer service, which was the worst experience I have ever had. The representative kept interrupting me as I was trying to explain my concern, which she couldn't care less. When finally she let me speak I told her that I need to know the price for each product since the invoice only stated the total and I had bought an air purifying system and a water filter, which our seller told us it would be only $10.00 extra per month besides the air purifier. About a couple of weeks later I am talking with a friend who tells me that she had bought a carico water filter costing her $1000.00 and I just knew at that time I had been deceived because in no way $10/month for 18 months would add up to $1000. The representative was very rude telling me that she did not have that information and I should talk to the seller, I told her I didn't trust this person as he already lied about the monthly payment. She was very disrespectful in her tone of voice and so I asked to speak with her manager to which she replied that he was not available at the moment and that she would give him my information so he would call me back. Well, three days later and still waiting for the call. I also asked what was the returning policy of the company as the seller never told us, and she said they didn't accept returns nor gave refunds, which totally contradicts their claim of "we wanted to make the customer happy, especially because of the misunderstanding, so we issued her a full refund." stated above in this page. I told the representative that I am not satisfied with the product and she said that they would see what they can do to make me feel satisfied with the product but no returns. This company is not serious, irresponsible, and only cares to trap people into a monthly payment with a product they don't want. I even got tricked about how much money I would spend on energy using the air purifier all day since the seller said it would be less than an energy efficient light bulb, only to find out after two weeks that my bill went from $60 to $86. I am completely unsatisfied with this company and wish I could return the product which I don't plan to use because it means paying more on my electricity bill and now I am stuck paying a significant amount of money for something I won't use, I definitely don't feel like a valued customer.
I have decided to sue Carico, if anyone would like to join in, please email me your information at suecarico@gmail.com. share this with anyone you know who purchased from Carico or worked for Carico
