Right at home
Hi, I'm Mrs. Eplin I'm a client of right at home been with the company for two years or so very nice company... My care giver Lisa chapman is the best she is always on time so sweet and takes really good care of me, she's the best caregiver a client could ask for...
Sommersett is a wonderful place for your loved one
My mother is at Sommersett Neighborhood in Oklahoma City. I can not write enough words to describe the care of my mother. The employees are the best. My mother has been treated with such kindness and care. During these hard times i am amazed how they have handled everything. I would recommend this facility if needed for their loved ones. They are family to my mother and to us.

Connected to the Episcopal Church, Canterbury CCRC offers a full range of services and opportunities for physical health and personal growth. Keeping seniors safe and healthy
Mary Stone, director, works tirelessly to follow all CDC policies during the COVID outbreak. She provides safely distanced indoor hall bowling, bingo, game afternoon, exercise to give her independent residents a little joy during shelter in place. I feel with daily temp checks and food delivery to her room, my mother, a resident of 3 years, is very safe and cared for at Heritage Woods. I highly recommend Heritage Woods to other families looking for a warm, welcoming facility for their loved one.
Can’t trust reviews of facilities
I tried to do a detailed negative review of a memory care facility that is on Caring.com's website. The facility refuted my claims, provided outright incorrect "proof" that my claims were incorrect, and thus Caring.com refused to post my review. So just be advised that Caring.com's reviews of facilities will greatly favor the facility being reviewed. The point of reviews is to be informative based upon the customer's experience. Caring.com does not provide impartial and nonpartisan reviews.
Recommendation: Don’t use Caring.com reviews to make your decision on facilities.
Caring.com: Can You Trust Their Senior Living Reviews?
Caring.com claims to be a reliable source for reviews on senior living facilities, but in reality, they only post positive reviews and filter out negative ones, labeling them as hearsay. This raises questions about the authenticity and impartiality of their reviews. It is concerning that some facilities may be paying for referrals and reviews, which could sway the ratings in their favor.
I had a negative experience with a facility and left a professional and honest review on Caring.com, but it was not posted. This was disappointing and made me doubt the credibility of the website. I later found out that other people who had negative experiences with the same facility also had their reviews withheld. This is not fair to potential residents who rely on these reviews to make informed decisions about their care.
I strongly advise against relying solely on Caring.com's reviews when choosing a senior living facility. It's essential to do your own research and visit the facility in person before making any decisions. In particular, the facility my nana stays at is concerning because of the violent residents who are free to hit caregivers and med techs. The fact that the employees are not allowed to protect themselves is alarming. Additionally, drugs are being smoked on the premises, which is a violation of state and federal laws. This poses a significant safety risk to anyone living or visiting the facility. It's clear that Caring.com does not provide an accurate representation of this facility, and I fear that other facilities may also be misrepresented.

Review of Caring.com: Legitimate Concerns Silenced, Fake Reviews Allowed to Remain
I stumbled upon Caring.com while looking for a place for my mother to stay. After a few weeks, I became concerned about the care she was receiving. Despite repeated attempts to communicate with the residence about her falls, I did not receive a plan for how they would prevent it from happening again. Hoping to help other families who may be in the same situation, I turned to Caring.com to leave an honest review.
To my dismay, my review was denied, and I later discovered many others had experienced the same. It is disheartening to see that legitimate concerns are being silenced while fake reviews from employees of the residence are allowed to remain. Caring.com has the opportunity to hold residences accountable and improve the quality of service offered to our loved ones.
As a consumer, I wanted to trust Caring.com and expected them to act in an ethical manner. However, their actions have made it difficult for me to do so. I hope that Caring.com will take notice of the growing number of complaints and work to rectify the situation. In the meantime, I urge others to think twice before relying on the reviews found on their site.

Caring.com's Inconsistent Standards Failed to Represent My Senior Care Experience
As someone who has dedicated their career to the senior care field for over a decade, I have a wealth of experience dealing with all sorts of Senior Living Communities with varying levels of care. Naturally, I have witnessed some facilities that truly impressed me with their level of care and dedication to their residents, while others left me with a sense of horror and unease. In light of this, I have always made it a point to share my feedback on various review sites, not just for the sake of expressing my opinions, but to genuinely assist families in finding the right living arrangements for their loved ones.
That being said, I have had several frustrations with Caring.com, as I have attempted to leave reviews for both positive and negative experiences I have had. Each time I have written a review, I have done so objectively, without naming staff or any identifiable information, and instead focused on relevant regulations and state codes. My goal was to encourage families to do their own research and further vet a facility, particularly if there were any violations or concerns with the level of care provided.
Unfortunately, each time I submitted a review, Caring.com rejected it, citing that it did not meet their guidelines. I found this to be incredibly disheartening, especially as I saw other reviews that were allowed to remain on the site that were arguably less helpful or informative. It felt as though they were playing favorites, and their standards really seemed to lack consistency. I am disappointed that Caring.com has seemingly prioritized money over the wellbeing of the seniors they are meant to serve. It's a shame that they have made it about the money, rather than about caring for seniors and their families.

Be cautious when using caring.com for senior living search
When I was searching for a senior living facility online, I received a call from caring.com. At first, I wasn't interested in using their service, but they were persistent in trying to help me. However, I was already using a similar service and didn't think they could provide me with any additional information.
Despite my reservations, I started receiving emails and phone calls from a representative at caring.com, checking in on how my search was going. I appreciated their concern, but I kept telling them that I didn't need their help since I already had access to the same information they were providing me.
Eventually, my mom's living situation changed, and she ended up moving in with me. I let the representative at caring.com know about this, but they continued to reach out, asking for updates. I found this slightly frustrating, as I had given them the same information multiple times before.
To add to my irritation, they even started texting me for updates, something which I found particularly intrusive. Overall, I didn't think that caring.com provided me with any unique information that I couldn't find on my own. While I appreciate their concern, I would caution others to be careful when contacting senior living facilities online, as you may end up with a service rather than the facility itself.

Caring.com's Shady Business Practices - A Warning to Families Seeking Nursing Homes
I recently had a devastating experience with The Harrison at Heritage in Fort Worth, TX, which prompted me to write a review about Caring.com. I was shocked to discover that health.usnews.com had reported that only 63.3% of the staff were vaccinated against COVID-19 and only 64.9% of the residents were vaccinated against COVID-19. What's more, via a nanny cam, I was able to observe that the staff were entering my father's room without the required PPE. This was of great concern to me as 10 of the nurses were out with COVID-19 that week, and unfortunately, 10 patients, including my father, were also infected. Sadly, my father passed away at 3:47 AM - he was perfectly fine before this incident. I thought that Caring.com should have taken responsibility and found this pertinent information before recommending this nursing home.
I came across a photo that showed how they admitted to a person who paid for their review-generating program that this is how they conduct their business. If a facility does not pay them off, then negative reviews remain on their website. I encourage you to check out other reviews of clients' facilities who spent two thousand dollars to get "leads" and "referrals" from Caring.com. Do you think they would post negative reviews for facilities who pay them off? It is illegal for them not to post honest reviews, and if this has also happened to you, you should make a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission about their shady business practices at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.
I must mention that Denise G. of Caring.com better pray there's not an afterlife as she clearly sold her soul to the devil! At this very moment, I am back to planning my father's funeral, which is heartbreaking. In conclusion, I urge you to do thorough research about any nursing home before you consider it and to stay away from Caring.com as their system is not trustworthy.

My Negative Experience with Caring.com: Misled, Let Down and Out of Pocket
Oh dear, my experience with Caring.com was extremely negative and I feel compelled to share it with others. My agency invested a significant sum of money, approximately $2,000, in the hope of receiving qualified referrals, but unfortunately we were misled and let down at every turn. During the first month of our trial, we did not receive a single referral that met our criteria, despite being led to believe that we had converted two. When we provided evidence to Caring.com, we discovered that many of the referrals we had received were either past clients who had previously been discharged for non-payment, or those who were reliant on Medicaid and could not afford our services.
Although Caring.com claimed that they vetted all referrals before sending them through, almost half of ours were Medicaid referrals and many could only afford the base service rate of $20/hour, which was not in line with the industry standard. As we are based in Denver, Colorado, we know that the minimum wage is approaching $15/hour, and the national average for private pay and nursing facility hourly rates is $27/hour. Despite their promises to credit our account and conduct their own audit of leads, Caring.com never followed through with their promises and failed to rectify the situation.
When we raised our concerns and provided further evidence that their referrals were not properly vetted, they began to make false claims that we were converting clients and became rude in their email correspondence with us. Our refunds were not forthcoming and we were left feeling completely frustrated and out of pocket.
My personal recommendation is to save your effort and money and look elsewhere for better service and results. I hope our unfortunate experience with Caring.com can serve as a warning to others to avoid this company and look for a trustworthy, reliable alternative.
Caring.com Review: Misleading Referrals and Pushy Representatives
I recently found myself in a position where I needed to research assisted living options for my older sister. With no previous knowledge on the subject, I decided to give Caring.com a try after seeing their website online. I clicked on the assisted living button and filled out my personal information as requested. Unfortunately, my experience with Caring.com has not been a positive one.
Almost immediately, I began to receive a plethora of referrals to assisted living facilities that didn't even meet my criteria. It seemed as though they had a list of every facility within a 200-mile radius and were referring people left and right without any actual consideration for individual needs. It's incredibly frustrating to think that they're simply referring people like myself to any and every facility in the hopes of receiving a referral bonus without any real concern for quality care.
To make matters worse, the follow-up call I received from a male representative was incredibly rude and pushy. He didn't seem to care about any differences in care, so long as he was able to refer me to a facility that would result in a referral bonus for Caring.com. It was disheartening to see how little regard they had for the family members of those who are actually seeking care.
Despite expressing my frustrations during the follow-up call, I was still contacted by another representative a few days later. This time, it was a woman who apologized for my previous experience and promised to remove my contact information from their list. However, just two days later, I received yet another set of email referrals that still didn't quite meet my criteria.
It's clear to me that Caring.com is more interested in making money than helping people find quality care for their loved ones. It's extremely unfair to those businesses who put in the time and effort to actually go out and look at facilities to ensure proper care. To anyone who is considering using Caring.com, I strongly suggest steering clear of their site and not clicking on any links or answering any questions. In my experience, you'll never be able to get rid of them and their constant emails and calls. I am writing this review in the hopes that others don't have to experience the same frustrations I did when looking for care for their loved ones.
Beware of Caring.com's Privacy Policy: A Personal Information Breach
In September of 2015, I needed assistance with caring for a loved one and found Caring.com. I reached out and spoke with a representative named Nancy who unfortunately did not disclose that my personal information would be released to their network. Shortly after speaking with her, I began receiving an overwhelming amount of spam emails from medical centers, doctors' offices, nursing care facilities, in-home-care and pharmacies in Central Florida (the region I was seeking help in). Prior to my interaction with Caring.com, I had not received any such emails from advertisers in Florida.
I quickly reached out to Caring.com for assistance, but unfortunately, every interaction with their representative, Rosa, was unhelpful. After several attempts to contact Caring.com, my phone number and email were ultimately placed on a "do not contact" list. Finally, after several attempts, Tom Bourke, a member of Caring.com's corporate team, reached out to me and admitted that a mistake was made by not informing me that my personal information would be released to their advertisers. However, he did not take full responsibility for any negative impact the release of my information caused.
It became apparent to me that Caring.com and their advertisers are willing to sell personal information to anyone for a profit. I was outraged by their lack of integrity and concern for their customers' privacy. I felt compelled to report their behavior to the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs as I believe their business model is tantamount to elder abuse.
I want to thank you for taking the time to read my experience with Caring.com. I caution others to consider the potential risks before utilizing their services.
Declining Care Standards at McAuley: My Unpleasant Experience with Caring.com
My experience with Caring.com has been unpleasant, and I felt compelled to leave a one-star review based on my personal experience with the facility. I want to bring attention to the declining standard of care at McAuley, a once esteemed and reputable facility for seniors. Unfortunately, since its merger with Provena and Resurrection + Presence Health, McAuley has not lived up to its reputation, and the quality of care has plummeted.
In 2014, there were numerous incidents where senior residents fell, resulting in serious and life-threatening injuries. Investigations revealed that the cutting down of the nursing staff and lack of hands-on care was to blame. Within a span of just three weeks, 18 seniors had fallen, some with head injuries and fractures. This led to two possible deaths pending a ten-day investigation conducted by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
I believe the lack of qualified healthcare professionals and the absence of proper screening protocols to be responsible for such incidents. I urge everyone to look into the administrator's healthcare background and decide for themselves whether they are up to the task. Additionally, the activities department at the facility is subpar at best and is denied funds by the corporate office.
It is disheartening to see that a non-profit Catholic healthcare organization like Presence Health decided to spend $147 million building a medical building downtown while neglecting the care of its patients at McAuley. Due to this neglect, census for the facility is low, and many dedicated staff members have moved on to other facilities. However, there are some diligent and caring caregivers who took the initiative to participate in investigations to improve the safety of their patients, even if it meant risking their jobs.
I encourage everyone to reach out to the Illinois Department of Public Health to inquire about their investigation and the outcome of their findings. I believe that if we care about our loved ones, we should do all we can to ensure that they receive the best possible care, even if it means holding facilities accountable for their actions. It is unfortunate to see that other rating agencies like Caring.com have not reported such incidents and have given this facility a five-star rating, probably because Presence Health is one of their paid advertisers. It is high time that we ponder over such dishonest practices by rating agencies that harm patients and their well-being.
Review: Disappointing Experience with Elder Care Facility
I recently had a negative experience with Caring.com and feel compelled to share my story. Unfortunately, my father did not receive the quality of care that we were hoping for at this facility. The most concerning issue was the lack of staffing, as this led to a complete lack of follow-through on many important matters. I was shocked to find that my father's clothing had gone missing, and that he was being forced to wear other people's clothing. Furthermore, his fingernails were dirty and hadn't been trimmed, his clothes were soiled, and he had not been shaven. It was as if no one had been tending to his basic needs.
Another major issue was the lack of activities provided for the residents. Other than a weekly church service and bingo, there were no other programs to engage the residents. As a result, they were left sitting dazed or sleeping in a vinyl-floored dining room while a TV blared in the background. The staff spent most of their time huddled behind the front desk complaining about their jobs. This was quite disheartening to witness, as it seemed like no one was truly invested in providing quality care.
I should also note that due to the pandemic, we were unable to visit my father in person for an extended period of time. When we were finally permitted to visit through a window, we learned that a staff member had tested positive for COVID. This made us even more concerned about my father's safety and well-being.
Perhaps the most disturbing outcome of my father's stay was his significant decline in health. He lost 20 pounds in just five weeks and was not being weighed weekly as required by law in New York. I had to raise the issue with the staff myself. He also experienced a horrible rehabilitation program that resulted in him becoming permanently wheelchair-bound, requiring a catheter and hoya lift. This was devastating, as he had previously only needed a cane for mobility. When they could get away with it, staff members would put him to bed as early as 7:15 p.m. We were deeply disappointed in the quality of care he received.
I will say that there were a few bright spots at the facility. Some of the nurses and aides were responsive, and the social worker was exceptional. However, those positive experiences did not make up for the generally dispirited attitude of the staff and the poorly-maintained premises. This was one of the most depressing places I have ever visited.
I feel that facilities like this one are a disservice to our elders. They are often warehoused with their private assets drained by these facilities. Once they hit Medicaid, they can end up stuck in shared rooms with minimal privacy. My father's experience with this facility was all the more heartbreaking because he had volunteered there for almost 12 years. We hoped that he would receive the preference and care he deserved, but this was simply not the case.
I urge people to do their research and choose facilities carefully. Unfortunately, with the sell-off of facilities like this one to private equity firms, it is likely that the prioritization of profits over care will only continue. Our elders deserve better than this, and it is up to us as family members and caregivers to hold facilities accountable for the care they provide.
Caring.com Complaints 12
The website is biased!
I gave this facility a one star review because...
"McAuley once had a great reputation as a wonderful and caring facility, but just recently with the merger of Provena & Resurrection + Presence Health, the care has declined drastically.
With the many senior falls in 2014 with serious life-threatening injuries due to the cutting down of nursing staff hands-on care. Just within 3 weeks - 18 seniors had fallen, some with head injuries and fractures, resulting in 2 possible deaths pending a TEN day Illinois Department of Public Health investigation.
How many of you can testify that your loved one did not receive the proper medication within a timely manner detrimental to their health and were not properly screened so the facility's' qualified staff can take care of them properly?
Look up the administrator at the time healthcare background, or the lack thereof, and see for yourself if he knows what he's doing. It's all public knowledge.
The activity department? SAD, SAD, SAD. Why? Because they are denied funds by corporate. However, did you hear about the $147 million dollar medical building - PRESENCE HEALTH (the largest non-for-profit Catholic Healthcare Organization in Illinois) is building down-town-Chicago on your loved ones $$$$?
There is good reason why census is LOW and once dedicated staff members have moved on, not sharing in McAuley's ignominy. In fact some of their most dedicated and caring caregivers initiated and participated in this investigation, risking their jobs for the safety of their patients!
Call the Illinois Department of Public Health for an update on their 10 day investigation to see what they found. After all isn't your loved one worth it?
Also, Presence Hospitals have fallen to a 3 star rating this year, 2015... and caring.com never posted it. Instead they posted a ONE five star review because no doubt Presence is one of their a paid advertisers!
Ideal Nursing Home in Endicott
Understaffed with complete lack of follow through. My Dad's clothing was missing, he was wearing other peoples clothing, his fingernails were dirty and had not been trimmed, his clothes were soiled, he had not been shaven. There were no activities other than church once a week and bingo. The residents sat dazed or sleeping in a vinyl floor dining room with a TV blaring that no one watched. The staff spent most of their time time huddled behind the front desk complaining about their jobs. Now, in NY, we cannot go in and visit anyone inside we are limited to 20 minute visits thru a window so we cannot see what s really going on and that has ended too because a staff member tested positive for COVID. My dad lost 20 lbs in about five weeks and he was not being weighed weekly as required by NY law. I had to raise it. My father is 93 with no significant health problems other than two mild to moderate strokes. The rehab there was beyond horrible. He is now permanently wheel chair bound, on a catheter and on a hoya lift. When he came he used a cane. Period. When they can get away with it they put him to bed at 7:15. I would take him out of there except I cannot handle his mobility issues now.
I am sorry I did not bring him to live with me when he first broke his hip.
A few of the nurses are responsive, same for a few aides and the social worker is exceptional. But, the facility is so run down and the general attitude so dispirited that it is one of the most depressing places I have ever visited.
We have to do a better job for our parents and elderly. This is cruel and atrocious. They are warehoused, their private assets spent down and drained by these monster facilities and once they hit Medicaid, bye bye to the private room. He shares a room the size of a hospital room with a locker for his clothes.
This facility is owned by UHS but has been sold to a private equity firm. That means they will try to squeeze even more money out of the premises which will mean more cuts in services and care, if that is possible. My father volunteered here for almost 12 years and he wanted to go here thinking he would get preferential treatment. It's just a disgrace.
Why Caring.com Didn't Meet My Expectations in Finding Care Facilities
I was initially hesitant to use Caring.com, but decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, things did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. In particular, I was disappointed to find that there was no clear way to opt out of the calls and emails that followed my initial inquiry. This left a bad taste in my mouth before my search had even really started.
Things didn't improve much once I got in touch with a representative named Kacey A. I shared all the important details about my mother's needs, but despite this he only provided two options for potential care facilities. Sadly, it turned out that Kacey had not actually listened to my needs and the first of the two appointments was a complete disaster. The facility had no idea we were coming and were unable to accommodate my mother's needs even if they had known. The second facility was just as bad and again, unable to accept my mother.
As a result, I ended up wasting precious hours of time driving to these facilities, only to discover that they were not suitable options after all. It was incredibly frustrating and made me question the usefulness of the service provided by Caring.com.
Ultimately, I was able to find a suitable facility for my mother, but it was not through Caring.com. It seems that the places that do accept my mother do not do business with this company and it's easy to see why. While it's possible that others have had better experiences with the site, my own experience was not a positive one. I've come to the conclusion that there are better resources out there for finding the right care options for loved ones and I won't be using Caring.com again.

Uncovering the Truth: Our Personal Experience with Merrill Gardens and the Failure of Caring.com to Post Our Review
Recently, my family and I had a terrible experience with an assisted living facility in Madison, Alabama. My elderly father, who is 88 years old, was rudely and unexpectedly kicked out of his living arrangement with no prior notice, all while he was about to finish rehabilitation and go back home. As you can imagine, this was a very difficult time for us. When we went to retrieve my father's belongings only two days after his abrupt eviction, we were horrified to find that we were already locked out of his apartment. Needless to say, we were extremely upset and felt like we'd been wronged by both the assisted living facility and applying and review website, Caring.com.
When I attempted to leave a review of Merrill Gardens on Caring.com, they refused to post it, citing a fear of being sued for defamation. It was incredibly disappointing to see that Caring.com was unwilling to post our honest review of our experience, especially given that their website is designed to provide transparency and guidance to families and those seeking quality care options for their loved ones.
We feel that it is our responsibility to share our story and inform others so that they can make informed decisions when it comes to selecting caregivers and assisted living facilities. No one deserves to be treated unfairly like my father was, and it's essential to hold those in positions of power and influence accountable for their actions. We encourage others to think carefully before utilizing the services of Merrill Gardens and to be wary of review websites that may not be willing to share the truth about certain facilities.
Disappointing Experience with Caring.com for Senior Housing Assistance
When I reached out to caring.com for assistance in finding housing for my beloved family member, I was excited by the possibility of receiving some much-needed guidance during this important process. However, my experience with caring.com was unfortunately not as positive as I had hoped. Initially, their representative contacted me during my mornings hours, which was quite early due to the time difference between my location and theirs. While they did provide some initial support and follow-up, the subsequent communication from various facilities left much to be desired - I even received outreach from those that were not even recommended by caring.com. Needless to say, this made the already complex and emotional process even more overwhelming for myself and my family. Despite these obstacles, we ultimately found a solution that worked for us, thanks to the input of my sister-in-law. I shared this information with caring.com in hopes of providing feedback, but unfortunately, it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Instead, I was scheduled for a "fake" tour of a suggested facility in what felt like an attempt to profit off of our situation. I was understandably unhappy with this experience and left feeling disappointed in caring.com's overall approach to assisting someone during such a difficult time.
Unprofessional and Disrespectful: My Experience with Caring.com
I recently had an online interaction with Caring.com and was initially happy with the follow-up and pricing information they provided. However, my opinion quickly changed when they began incessantly calling me even after I informed them we were no longer interested in pursuing a retirement home for my mother-in-law.
Despite repeated requests to stop contacting me, the calls continued. In the midst of attending my daughter's wedding, I was still receiving calls from them. It is very unprofessional for a company to disregard a potential client's requests to stop contacting them.
I highly recommend you steer clear of this company unless you enjoy being bombarded with endless calls that add unwanted stress to your life. Overall, my experience with Caring.com left me feeling frustrated and disrespected.
Disappointing Experience with Caring.com: A Review of Senior Living Resources
When I was in search of a senior living facility, I came across Caring.com. They seemed to offer promising services and I quickly contacted them. To my surprise, they provided me with a list of facilities that they believed could meet my needs and even helped me arrange virtual meetings. I was impressed, and grateful for their prompt assistance.
However, my experience with Caring.com took a turn for the worse when none of the suggested facilities seemed to be a good fit for me. I tried reaching out to my advocate but was unable to do so. Not only was the phone number provided not working, but the emails I sent kept bouncing back as undeliverable. It appeared that no matter what I did, I couldn't get in touch with my advocate.
Feeling frustrated, I turned to the general number on the website for assistance. Unfortunately, I found myself talking in circles with the representative. They couldn't tell me why I couldn't reach my advocate and simply assured me that they had emailed her and she would get back to me. Of course she never did.
Disappointed by my experience with Caring.com, I decided to turn to senior services within the county I was moving to. And let me tell you, they were exceptional! I received tremendous amounts of help and had all my questions and concerns addressed promptly and with genuine care.
In summary, while Caring.com seemed like a promising resource, their lack of response and care ultimately led to my disappointment. It's best to find alternative resources for senior living assistance.
Caring.com's Selective Reviews Undermine Consumer Trust and Safety
As someone who values transparency and accuracy in online reviews, I felt very troubled by my experience with "caring.com". I had hoped that this site would provide an open platform for people to share their honest experiences and opinions about nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. Unfortunately, I encountered some serious issues that called the site's integrity into question.
When I tried to post a review based on my personal experience with a nursing home that had mistreated an elderly person, my review was rejected by "caring.com". I was dismayed that they would refuse to post important and accurate information, especially when it related to such a serious issue as elder abuse. Instead, I repeatedly saw positive reviews of this same nursing home appear on the site, despite clear evidence of wrongdoing.
It's clear to me that "caring.com" is not fulfilling its stated mission of providing helpful and honest information to those seeking care options for themselves or their loved ones. By selectively posting only positive reviews and suppressing negative ones, they are creating a misleading picture of the facilities they review. This not only harms consumers who are trying to make informed choices, but it can also put vulnerable people at risk if they end up in an inadequately reviewed facility.
It's my sincere hope that other concerned individuals will join me in raising awareness about these issues. I believe that "caring.com" must be held accountable for its actions, and a class action lawsuit could be one way to achieve that. While the site may defend its policies, those policies clearly do not ensure that truthful information is being portrayed. We must demand more from this site and others like it, in order to ensure that everyone is able to make informed decisions about their long-term care options.

Caring.com Ignored Negative Review of Sebring, FL Facility: The Palms - A Worrisome Trend?
I recently had an experience with a Caring.com facility located in Sebring, Florida which left me feeling disappointed and concerned. Although I wrote an honest and accurate review of my family's experience, I was disappointed to find that Caring.com declined to post it due to its unfavorable content. This experience has brought to light the possibility that Caring.com could be directing their ratings and reviews to look favorable by discarding negative reviews.
The facility in question, The Palms, is a rehabilitation and nursing home where our loved one was meant to get the necessary assistance needed to return to their home with in-home care. However, our experience was far from favorable. In fact, we were left feeling concerned about the quality of care that our loved one was receiving.
One issue we encountered was that The Palms has chronic understaffing, resulting in the lack of proper care for some patients. The care given was simply bare-bone, and the services provided were inadequate, which led to our loved one gradually getting worse instead of improving. As a family, we have become increasingly desperate to find alternative options for our loved one's care to ensure they receive the proper care and attention that they so rightly deserve.
As concerned family members, we believe it is crucial that others contemplating the services provided by The Palms take a close look before committing their loved ones in their care. We believe it's disappointing that Caring.com buried our honest review and that it is a disservice to the community. Our experience has opened our eyes to the possibility that the ratings and reviews provided on Caring.com may not truly reflect the quality of care provided by certain facilities.

Unprofessional practices and personal information mishandling at Caring.com. Beware before sharing information!
I recently decided to hop on to the website of Caring.com to look for an independent living accommodation for my dear parents. The site prompted me to fill in some information which I did and soon enough, I received a call from one of their representatives, Tasia Day. Now, I explicitly and repeatedly mentioned to Tasia that I wasn't actively seeking a home for my parents just yet and that I was only browsing the website. However, she took my information anyways and passed it on to several different assisted living and independent communities. This has caused a major influx of emails in my inbox, as these communities have been relentlessly following up on the "lead" that Tasia provided. What's even more frustrating is that I never gave Tasia permission to pass on my email to begin with.
It's incredibly unprofessional and reckless to assume that just because someone browses your website or fills in some information that they are immediately looking for a service. What's more infuriating is the fact that the representatives don't seem to listen to the concerns of their potential clients or even understand the gravity of passing on personal information.
Needless to say, I won't be using caring.com anytime soon. I caution anyone against sharing their information with them if you're not ready to be bombarded with emails and calls. It's a shame that such practices are rampant in the industry and I hope that other companies refrain from acting in such a manner.
Caring.com's Removal of my Review Raises Concerns about Site Integrity and Industry Influence
I recently wrote a review about my disappointing experience with an Assisted Living facility on Caring.com. My mother's valuable jewelry was stolen while she resided there and I was simply sharing my experience on the website. I received an email from Caring.com stating that my review had been approved and was visible on the site for at least a month. However, I later found out that the review was taken down without any notice or explanation.
As I browsed through the other reviews on the site, I noticed that they were all older than mine, some dating back to two years ago. This led me to believe that the site may have been obliged to take down my review due to pressure from the assisted living industry. I find this disappointing and concerning as it undermines the credibility of Caring.com as a reliable resource for consumers.
I must clarify that I did not blame the assisted living facility for the theft, I simply mentioned that it occurred during my mother's stay there and that it is a cause for concern for anyone experiencing similar situations. I pointed out that it was difficult to determine who was responsible for the theft as many agencies had access to my mother's belongings, such as her hospice care workers. I also highlighted that despite being promised a response from the facility's director, I never received one.
Overall, my experience with Caring.com has left me questioning their integrity and reliability as a source for individuals searching for assisted living facilities. It is frustrating to think that reviews may be removed without any explanation, potentially leaving consumers unaware of important information that could impact their decision-making process.

Caring.com Fails to Publish Reviews and Protects Nursing Homes from Honest Criticism - Unethical Practices Must Stop
As someone who values transparency in healthcare, I am deeply disappointed in my experience with Caring.com. Recently, I had concerns about the nursing home where a dear friend of mine resided, and I diligently recorded incidents of neglect and mistreatment over the course of a year. Despite providing detailed information about the incidents, including dates, times, and the identities of individuals involved, none of my honest and heartfelt reviews were ever published by Caring.com.
I am not alone in my frustration. Many nursing home residents and their families have reported that Caring.com seems to protect certain facilities from honest criticism. It appears as though some nursing homes with bad reviews are paying Caring.com to shield them from public scrutiny and protect their reputations.
I attempted to submit my reviews three different times, each time with more details to strengthen my argument, and was met with silence. Eventually, Caring.com refused to even accept my reports when my email was attached. This is not the kind of behavior we need from a website that positions itself as an advocate for quality healthcare.
In light of these experiences, I join the cries of other citizens who are demanding that Caring.com be held accountable for their unethical practices. The safety and wellbeing of nursing home residents should always be the top priority, and by protecting bad actors in the industry, Caring.com is failing to live up to this important responsibility. Caring.com must do better.
