Made an appt for a dryer repair. This was actually the second appt in 3 weeks, the first repair having failed to fix the problem. The time frame for the appt was 3-9 pm. They waited until 3:30, after I had already left work early to be home, to notify me that there was no one available and they had moved my appt to the following day. If they had notified me earlier I wouldn't have had to burn vacation time needlessly. I pay extra every month for this treatment?! Seriously?!
reconnection
We switched accounts and forgot to change banking information. We never got email or correspondence saying that we got behind, because we had auto pay for the longest up until we changed bank accounts. Well from one day to the next our service was disconnected with no notice or anything. We paid all the ridiculous fees and even had to pay a deposit and paid a same day reconnection fee. My husband answered the automated call and said he was in route and would be home in 30 min. He got there in 15. He saw the tech parked by the wrong house. They called again but from a Houston number and that call got dropped bit was answered by my husband. The tech never got off his vehicle, my husband waited an hour and he assumed he didn't get off because it was raining. The tech just never did the service. We were also getting ready for a quincenera we were Padrinos for and the lady at customer service wanted us to be calling and asking if they were gonna reconnect us. That's crazy. If the tech saw my husband get there, get off and do your job! The customer service people said that no one got there ever. What lies! I've had to buy food all weekend because center point technitan couldn't do his job and it's Monday and they said I have to wait till Tuesday for gas! After I paid all that money! They said if not I have to pay another $47 dollars, but they didnt do the service the first time! I don't know who regulates or checks up on this company, but WE THE CUSTOMERS feel like we are being called liars! Centerpoint should call the techitians to see what really went on! They have a gps that shows him here and I have cameras that prove he was here but never got off! Did he not get off cause it was raining!? Who knows! But I know centerpoint will not return my $47 from Fridays same day reconnection fee because according to their records THEY ARE RIGHT! Horrible customer service and lying technitans! If I could move to another gas company I would but it obviously seems like they have monopolized South Texas!
tech lied about actually coming to leave meter and reconnect gas
My meter was removed due to a gas line leak on May 8th
I had it repaired and called CenterPoint this morning they said it would be on between 8/5 I gave my number for them to call before they came out they never called me
I came home at 4pm still no meter no gas
I called them and the rude person answering the phone said
They called my phone
I never received a call
They came by and knocked real hard and no answer they left a note
But my son who is over the age of 18 was home all day and there was no note
This woman said that they were sending a tech out and they would be here before 5 once again No one showed up
Now I'm sure the tech drive by didn't see a car in drive way that doesn't mean no one is home
now I'm going another weekend with no gas no way to cook
tech lied about appt time
The day I ordered new service I was given a turn on date for the next day. I was told the time would be between 8am-5pm. I took off work to be home since I'm the only adult in the home and an adult had to be present to turn on services. Around noon I get a call that my service day will have to be rescheduled for the following day d/t an emergency and the workers are needed to asst with that! So here we are on the third day, I've been waiting all am...no call, so I go to work at 12. I get a call @ 1:40 pm and I say I'm in route. I get to my home at 2:10 and the tech is already gone leaving a note on my door to reschedule! Mind you he didn't write the time he was there only checking the pm box. I call Centerpoint and was told there was nothing they could do but reschedule me for Monday. They said the tech said he was @ my home till 2:20 which was a lie. I was home on the phone with them before 2:20. I'm so upset. No hot water and its the weekend. Centerpoint has lying techs that don't want to do their jobs and absolutely no good customer service. Although the ppl I talked to on the phone were nice, they didn't do anything to help me.
furnace repair
Called at 5:30am Feb. 8 2017 someone would be at our house between 6:30am-3:00pm. Receievd a phone called 10:30am someone was on the way got home and waited and then proceed to call and they said they had already been here let you remind you there was no sticker on the door that they were here! Then had another window of time 11:30-4:00pm they then arrived at 1:30pm. Were told they had to order a part and they were going to rush it because the technician was sure if it would work all night! It would be 4 hours tell the part would arrive. 7:00pm and still no part! Called and the said they could have the part in 10 min but they couldn't have a technician out between 8:00-12:00am! I have a 6 month old son I don't need someone at my house at midnight! I am very unhappy with your company! Worse service ever!
Gas procurement charges
I was told by a visiting representative that by changing my natural gas supplier from PG&E to Continuum Energy /Centerpoint Energy services I would save between $ 10 - 20 monthly. As I checked my recent bills, I found the opposite, I paid $ 17.48 more for gas procurement charges in 1/2017 and $ 14.77 more in December. All other previous bills were also higher, between ~ $ 4-5 more monthly. When I confronted the company with these facts, they acknowledged the problem but basically said "We are sorry" . I can only get out of my contract (ending in May 2017 ) by paying an additional fine of $ 50.
I feel that I as a senior citizen have been taken advantage of and frauded.
Please help other customers not to be in that same position, also let mne know what I can do.
Thank you !

Their faulty and unsafe equipment left unserviced until suing by consumers
Centerpoint Electric Power of houston refuses to repair and/or replace the numerous community reported by residents via Media, News executives .
The transformer send out a loud Boom sound before residents of various communitites(Spring, Sienna Plantation, Hunter GlenIV and possible others) start seeing lights flickering, dimming and finally some Major Appliances are damaged and/or destroyed due to same trouble finding by Liscensing, certified electricians...Control Board fried and destroyed.
Our live are in danger when we sometimes here sizziling and smell of burning from components in residents. the phone calls are not recorded by Centerpoint however; the many vendors(ieu...Sprint, At&t, T-mobil and Cricket) all have accurate incoming and importantly..outgoing calls (especially to Centerpoint). Instead of recording, customers are intimidated and pursuaded not to request tech out for possible additional $50 on bill is trouble found on resident side. Not eliminating the call came in and centerpoint rather show their log activity as their maintanience versus the complaint from consumer call...i can be reached [protected].
back charges for estimated gas use following discovery of faulty gas meter
CenterPoint Energy account 123363-4.
In my bill due Jul 20 '16, dated June 30th. there is an amount of $758. 36.
I called there customer service and was told that this is their estimate of gas not billed as a result of the meter being faulty. Asking what this estimate was based on I was told " consumption in 2015".
I explained that 2015 was the coldest winter in Shreveport in decades and that in 2015 I had made substantial improvements to the thermal efficiency of the house. Also 2016, the period covered by the estimate, was the warmest winter on record in Shreveport.
I was told that I must Fax details, with receipts, of the of the work done to the house. This I faxed on July 7th.
As of July 25th I had received no further communication from CentrerPoint and I called again and talked with a Supervisor named Beth. She told me they had reviewed my complaint but were disregarding it and following their guidelines and billing based on previous year. She went on to say that the estimate was substantially below 2015 use.
Their definition of substantial is less than mine. 2015 gas cost $880.74, Actual amount paid in 2016 as a result of the faulty meter$72.61. Back charge demand $758.36. Therefore my total cost will be $830.97. This equates to a 5% reduction from the coldest winter to the warmest winter, plus substantial improvements to the house.
I was told by Beth that the mater is closed and I must pay or my gas service will be disconnected
Im having the same problem as Mr. Ken Porteous what i need to know how can we solve this problem.
restoring power to commercial building - humble tx.
It is truly unfortunate for me, as I believe that Centerpoint is a good organization with good individuals who are trying to do the right thing.
That said, we own a stand alone building in Humble Tx, and have been trying to restore a meter and power lines back into the building (Which were stolen) since April of 2016. To date, March 25, 2016. We have gone through multiple supervisors at Centerpoint, multiple visits by various individuals, and to date there is no meter, and no lines installed.
The worst part - We have employees with families who are unable to pay bills because they are out of work. We have tried calling daily, for the past 15 days to no avail.
The city is missing out on potential tax revenue. The local business are missing out on potential foot traffic, and the building is subject to vandalism, which effects everyone in the community including employees who are out of jobs.
It is a bad situation, and despite our best efforts. There is no one we could go to share this frustration, nor solution. If anyone knows of a way to reach one of the supervisors @ Centerpoint, please e-mail me immediately.

destroyed my, front, yard flower beds and sprinkler system
Center Point Energy is a dishonesty company. May 2016 . I live in Bellaire and there was a gas leak in front of our house under the street. Center Point Energy rang our door bell, and said they were going to dig up our front yard to go under the street and repair the leak. The man assured my wife they would restore the two flower beds and sprinklers pipe exactly as it was. When they left, two flower beds were gone, sod was placed over the dirt, and my sprinkler were broken bubbling water from under ground in three places . They flat out lied, came on to my property (this is not easement) and destroyed flower beds and the sprinkler system. How many other people have they done this too in the Houston area?
They did the same thing to me! They didn't even try to smooth out the dirt in my yard. They left it so bulky and ugly! I pay a lot of money to keep my yard nice...I am not happy! Did you do anything about it? Did you complain about it?
no background check worker beating dog probably a convicted felon
No background check company
Same thing happened to me at 25 waters lake about 7 years ago. Unauthorized access into my yard and hit and threatened to kill my Labrador. Blocked his car called some one at center point who fired him on the spot.
I told him if he came back he would not be leaving He threatened me and said he would be back. Please let's do something against this terrible company that is too incompetent and too lazy to screen employees

My appliances damage
Filed a complaint . And was told that the complaint was to cover my air conditioner, microwave and stove that was out by center point and they sent me a check for 750.00. What am I suppose to buy with this . This is a slap in the face. Trying to call some one and no one is returning claim # ep2015120314.
they do not want to be heald responsible for my appliances
The agent lied to me and started lawsuit against me
Don’t use the services of Centerpoint Apartments. I have rented an apartment through this company, but after a year I bought my own apartment and decided to move out. When the agent came, she was smiley and told me that the apartment was in perfect condition. I was glad, but after 4 days they decided to sue me. I was shocked and that wanted me to pay for the whole lawsuit and for other expanses.

I am a renter. A piece inside my dryer cracked and my landlord authorized me to call HSP to have a technician come out and diagnose the issue at a time that was convenient for me. I called HSP on 10/26, had great service, and made an appointment within 5 minutes (which was surprisingly for the next day). On 10/27 the tech came out during the appointment...

October 30 2015 Leak report filed more than 90 days prior. 3003 2nd Avenue North Texas City Texas 77590 Driveway destroyed Mailbox damaged and not restored to regulation uniform position. Mailbox damaged, posted crooked, height and distance from curb not restored to USPS standards for curbside delivery mailboxes. Apparent inordinate amount of soil, public easement and driveway composite was disturbed and not restored to cause repair. Driveway is destroyed and un passable without causing erosion and damage to public easement and thoroughfare, this liability will inevitably fall upon the resident. CenterPoint emergency claim representative Bertha was unprofessional and inarticulate, handling line repair report of faulty work. Gas leak not corrected. CenterPoint should return and restore the worksite and driveway to an acceptable standard.
breaking and entering
I was unaware that my gas was going to be disconnected. I didnt receive the disconnect notice, I didnt receieve a phone call nor did the field rep notify while he was here (neither before nor after). My back gate is a locked wooden fence. The field service rep broke my fence by jumping it to get into my back yard to shut the gas off. This is not the first incident where a centerpoint energy service rep has ILLEGALLY entered my LOCKED back yard with out ANY notification. This is UNACCEPTABLE and I want this situation rectified. I should not have to worry about centerpoint employees breaking into my property. All of this could have been avoided by knocking on my front door to let me know what was going on and i would have gladly let him/her in to disconnect. I do not appreciate being violated in this way. I also plan on pressing charges on this employee if they give me his information...if not i will be pressing charges on the entire company...As a matter of fact, I would like to sue centerpoint all together for their rudeness an unprofessionalism. I was JUST told by a supervisor that they basically gave their field rep permission to enter my locked back yard without notifying me. I was told that the field rep DOES NOT have to let me know he is here to disconnect and has EVERY RIGHT to enter into my locked back yard and the ONLY thing they didnt like was the fact that he broke my fence. So, if I do not get a response ASAP I will be filing a suit because I KNOW MY RIGHTS! CENTERPOINT DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO BREAK INTO MY LOCKED BACK YARD!
Contractor broke my underground sprinkler system
04/28/15- Your contractor Frontline Power- Chris Hogan [protected]) installed a new transformer and wiring. I told the supervisor prior to starting the job that I had an underground sprinkler system, and he confirmed that he had seen the pipes and they would miss them, My monthly water bill is typically $40. 58 (i.e., 1/05/15, $74.53; 2/05/15, 40.58; 3/10/15, $33.30; 4/09/15, $40.58; 5/11/15, $182.42; 6/9/15, $41.58. I contacted the City of Houston to see why my May bill was 4X as much as all previous monthly billings. I was told that I was using 1, 000 gallons of water per day, literally impossible, I live alone and due to the rainy season, there had to be a leak. When I checked the standing water in my neighbors driveway, and checked water meter, and than the water sitting in my front yard, it was obvious the sprinkler system. I have been getting the run around since May no one has responded to how to resolve my problem.
Refund
I made a purchase form Center Point store at King Abdullah Road in Riyadh and i paid them by my debit card.
the cashier swipe my card and declined and then again swipe my card and accepted. the first try was successful and i complain this to the store Manager Mr. Mairaj he advice its technical problem and you will receive a sms in 24 hrs stating to refund .
but its more than 5 months now and the store claiming that its bank error .
in order to claim the money from bank i need to submit center point bank statements showing my transaction, and i have requested this statement from them since 5 months and they failed to provide me, without this proof i cannot claim any money from my bank.
i kindly request all expats and local to be more careful with your payment while making debit or credit card as they may happens to anyone of you.
Please tech your staff at al Kharj baby section to be polite in approach and also response from one your supervisor by name Ravi when asked his name said will provide his biodata a customer does it require your employee nai data I am shopping with center point since 8 years throughout kingdom but your employee attitude made think the issue your staff lazy to rearrange trailed items
My complaint is about the exchange or refund. Before in every store of Land Mark Group, they used to have separate counter for exchange and refund customers. Now suddenly they start forcing customer to join the same purchasing que. This creates a lots of chaos as the customers for purchase and exchange both standing in the same que. I had to stand for about 2 hrs in the que which is ridiculous. Instead to facilitate the customers, they are making their lives miserable. People are spending hours standing in the que. In Saudi Arabia during prayer time all the businesses are get closed, so the standing time increases even more. When try to talk to the store management, they also failed to give any justification over the issue. I would highly recommend to the higher management of the store to take up this issue seriously and try to resolve it immediately as this makes no sense. You have to take care of the customers and protect the customer rights. I will soon launch this complaint to the Labour Office in Saudi Arabia because they have the strict laws about customer care and protection.
poor customer service, fraudulent practices
I received a disconnect notice, when I tried paying the bill plus reconnect fee online, I was unable to submit payment . Website kept telling me that I was over paying. Finally I called Entex, the computer had my bill almost 200.00 when I had already paid 150.00 in fees. After several phone calls and three customer service reps, I was finally charged 86.00. Which included a reconnect fee and same day service. I gave them my cell phone number as the call number because I had to get to work. I was told by the customer service person that they would call me 30 mins before they come out, which was ok since I only 10 mins from home. When I did not receive a call by 10:50 that Morning, I started calling them back, after going through two more people I was told that they call me twice that morning and no one answer so the cancel my appt. I was told that the number would have showed up as Blocked or a 800 number. I was told that the calls were robo- calls, then I was told that I would have to pay more money to have a person to come out to my house the same day. I tried to explain to the customer service rep that no one called me from Entex and that's why I was calling them back. I ask to speak with a supervisor and then I was told that they would have to put me on a list . When I arrive home and check my home phone I did see a block number that called the house phone at 10:50 on August 29, 2014
I was on my cell phone with Centerpoint Energy at the same time! They have fraudulent practices, when I ask them to call cell phone they called house phone. When I call to inquiry and make sure they had the right number they confirmed the had my cell number yet they still call the house number then add another 47.00 fee because by there record I miss the first appt. By their record they call me at 10:50 on cell phone but at 10:50 I was calling customer service on that same cell phone. I talked to several customer reps.some of the names are Isma, Gwen, Ms. White, Tresha. Centerpoint Energy was also known as Entex is the only gas company in the region and use unfair business practice to steal from their customers
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Center Point Energy - www.centerpointenergy.com
Installing energy they sad they would not rip-off their customers by charging a fee for pay with debt cards but center point charges 2.95 to pay them with your debt/credit card which s outrageous and cuts their labor costs too too bad we can't change from this illegal monopoly.
reconnection requirements and procedures
I recently had to take a business trip to northern Kansas and was
gone for almost 6 weeks. Well I had paid all of my bills, utilities,
etc... Well at least I thought that I had. I had
overlooked the bill to Centerpoint Energy, Our Natural Gas provider, and the
result was a disconnection. When I returned and found the house
with no hot water, I immediately contacted Centerpoint paid the bill
and since they are the only Gas provider available I had no choice
to succumb to their deposit. Which is my first point. I have
lived at my
address for over 30 years. I have paid my bills. I have
no intention of leaving. Since I am established, I'm trying to figure out why I
have to contribute to their nest egg of deposits that is giving them a rather
handsome windfall through the interest they are accruing from all of the
deposits they have collected. But I did it anyway. I mean
what can I do? If I want gas, then, I have to jump through their
hoops.
So I set up the reconnect date, met the tech outside and
was eager to enjoy that nice hot shower. But upon arrival, he informed me that
he would have to enter my home and inspect it for gas leaks.
I do not let
strangers in my home. I won't ever let
strangers in my home. I should also add that my house was completely
rebuilt after Hurricane Ike took it out a few years ago. So for all
intents and purposes it is a new home. And it has under gone all of the
required plumbing and gas line checks! What really got me
angry is when the Tech retorted to me that he didn't
understand what the problem is because he has been in my home
before. I angrily replied to him that I had lived at my house for
35 years and that I assured him that he had never set foot in my house.
Unless he did it when I wasn't informed. Which brings up a whole set of
new problems. These little techs are a necessary part of the
process. I realize that. But I think there are times when it goes o
their heads and it turns quickly into an ego trip for them.
Example: BTK,
Dennis Rader of (Park City) Witchita, KS.
I do not understand why they must enter my property to "check
it out", and quite frankly I won't let them in. I have contacted Centerpoint Energy and was told that a supervisor would be
contacting me but it has been 5 days now and I still have not heard anything
back. Further, This Tech showed up again, anannounced yesterday morning. I called them again
and they said yes, I was correct that he did try to
come out and do the re-connect. She said that she
would re-schedule for another day. I told her that if they still needed
access to my home to not bother. So here I am.
I have been to the Texas Railroad commission website and found nothing about
being able to file a complaint against Centerpoint.
As
a Sideline:
I own a radio station here in the Houston
area. Nothing would make me happier than to get on my show one
evening and just let it rip bout Centerpoint Energy and The Texas Railroad Commission. But I said that I
would never use the station for such a purpose. It just doesn't look good
on the station to do such a
thing. I feel as though my hands are
tied. This needs to be rectified. I cannot be the only one that is
dealing with such a problem. I thought about contacting a lawyer.
But Really? Over something as trivial this? I don't think so. It
sure would be nice if we had a people friendly utility and
government.
